Starting Mass Processing
Mass processing can be started in the following ways:
Triggering the execution of a function
The execution of a function can be triggered as follows:
Execute function immediately
The functions are executed directly after mass processing has been triggered. This can take a long time for functions that require a lot of system resources. However, you can immediately check whether the function was successfully executed.
Execute function with dialog transaction
Further processing is controlled by a dialog that is specific to the function. This option is available for the following functions: Confirmation, Picking, Log display.
Create a function request (refer to Processing Requests)
First, requests are created without any further checks. The requests are created very quickly. Mass processing is actually executed with the program COWORKDISPATCH. As a result, it is delayed until the next time the program starts. You can decouple the function in terms of time, so that the main work takes place at night, for example. The end users create requests and system administration takes care of their execution.
Execute function in the background
First, requests are created without any further checks. Then a background process is started, which processes these requests immediately. Scheduling a background job does not create any administrative work and reduces the workload for the dialog.
Parallel Processing
For parallel processing, you define server groups for mass processing (COWORK-DIALOG, COWORK-BATCH). This enables you to speed up the execution of processing.
Mass processing online/ in the background.
You can either execute mass processing online or you can schedule it in a background job (no online steps are possible).
Application Toolbar with Mass Processing Functions
You can define that an application toolbar, with selected mass processing functions, is displayed in the list of the selected objects. You can use this application toolbar to execute the functions in the dialog.
For more information refer to Display Application Toolbar with Mass Processing Functions.
Test Run
You can decide whether changes caused by a mass processing function are executed in the form of a test run only. Error messages that may occur are collected. No changes are updated to the database.
You can use the test run for these functions:
Close
Set/delete user status
Release
Costing
Generate capacity requirements
Technically complete
Scheduling
WM material staging
To test a function, select the option Test function without changes to data on the Mass processing tab page.
Log
Log records are written and saved as a function is being executed. They provide information about the execution of a mass processing function. If no log record exists, the function was executed without any problems. The log records are assigned to the order or the collective order

  • Ho to create Mass Processing and jobs for monthly process

    Hi Gurus,
I had created all activities and jobs for background run and my question is 1. how to create for mass process ?
2.Do i need to create process chains for background run for every month ?
    3. How to create parallel processing as well/
Please let me know and thanks for your answers.
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi Raj,
Here is the link to saphelp documentation for <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/02/7650d6353611d398290000e8a49608/frameset.htm">mass processing</a>.
You can use a process chain and it is much easier if you want to repeat that periodically and integrate with the process steps. You have the option of creating parallel processes in process chains as well.

  • PIR not created durning mass processing (MC8G) job

We are transfering data from S076 to inactive PIR version for use in LTP using a job created in MC8G.
We have a few materials that are not transfering quantities.  One in particular, has 2 plants, and only 1 transfers.   The one that transfers is in the spool file created from the job, the other is not.  After some debugging S076E has both the material/plants LISPLF only has one of the plants for the material.
What config or master data should I be reviewing to find the reason?
    Thanks,
    Michelle

    1. For those materials which fails try to create the MD61 manually.
    2. If it is not able to create then check if the material is created in the plant, with requried planning strategy
    3. Also check if any material status prevents the same.

  • Mass processing of indexes cancelled

    Hi,
After a system refresh there were a number of missing secondary indexes (tcode DB02).
I have selected them all for mass processing, and then stared to process them with tcode SE14 > DB Requests > Mass processing.
During this mass processing the system has been restarted and the job TBATG-20100723 failed
    joblog:
    Job started
Step 001 started (program RADBAT01, variant &0000000000000, user ID myuser)
    DB log: TBATG-20100723
Job cancelled due to system shutdown
Now in SE14 > DB Requests > Mass processing the job status of the remaining indexes is "cancelled".
Is there anyway to restart this process?
    Kind regards,
    Nicolas

    Hello,
    The job has status cancelled.
I've done a check status but this didn't change anything in DB02
    Kind regards,
    Nicolas

  • TECHO by mass process or via Job run ??

    Hi Experts
Need one clarification on below issue on Production order Tech (Technical Completion)
We have nearly 100 Orders which need to identify whether TECO by auto job run or via Mass process by using COHV transaction.
Any thought to check which production orders are done via batch job or through COHV transaction.
    Thanks in advance
    Upinder

    Dear Upiner,
Use T.Code COHV,after giving the inputs, select the mass processing tab, mention the function as 220 - Technically Complete
and execute the program in background(Press F9) and check the results in SM37.

  • Setting in Mass processing activity

    Hello Forecasting Experts,
There are two parameter settings while creating an Forecasting mass processing activity -
    1. Always use job profile
    2. Generate profile and assign it
Can someone tell me what is the effect of using each above setting? Please give some recommendation as to which one has to be used when?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kelly

    Hi Kelly,
These are not one or the other.  You can have none of the options checked and things can run fine.
'Always Use Job Profile' option means system will use the forecast profile specified in the activity, regardless of what forecast profile assignments the demand planners may have made.  This can be problematic.  If the forecast profile in the activity is seasonal and it processes a CVC that should really have a constant model, the system may interpret noise as seasonality and give you what it thinks the seasonality is.  This is a recipe for higher forecast error.
'Generate profile and assign it' options instructs the system to create a new profile with a GUID and assign it.  Strategy 56 was made for this...  Seems like it would take longer to process your forecast this way.
'Generate new profile when errors' option will only generate a new forecast profile and assign it when the system encounters an error during normal calculation.  Example of this kind of error is when the model is Seasonal but you have some periods with blank history mixed in there -- the system can't calculate a seasonal index on zero history.  In this situation the system would generate a profile with a GUID and assign it.  The good news is that these are then easy to find in trxn /SAPAPO/MSDP_FCST2 since they have a GUID.  You can then have a demand planner go back to the CVC and tune the model properly.
(Warning! Business Process advice ahead!!  Proceed with extreme caution!!!)
One strategy with these options is:  Use the 'Generate profile and assign it' when you're first getting underway at go-live.  Let the system do the heavy number crunching the first few times.  Then have your demand planners tune the models for A and B products/families.  When they've had a fair amount of time to get all of those done, delete all GUID profile assignments (there's a button for this in trxn /SAPAPO/MSDP_FCST2 called 'Delete Generated Profiles').  So now, all actively tuned models (A & B products) have a demand-planner-assigned profile and all C products have no profile assignment.  During the forecast calculation run, A & B products will follow their assigned forecast profiles and all C products will use the profile specified in the activity.  In this strategy, none of the options in the activity are selected.
    Hope this helps!

  • Mass processing

    HI,
Is it possible to st the Deletion flag to the process order through mass processing.
    Regards,
    Amit

    Hi ,
    Thanks for the reply.
Actuallay in my senario we have a user status NDLF - No deletion Flag.
So in mass processing i want to deactivate the NDLF status and want to activate the DLFL status. we are scheduling background job monthly once to do this activity.
So  i was just trying through COID / COHV / COHVPI. Whether it can possible or not.
But in COID mass processing we can update user status NDLF but we can not update  DLFL deletion flag.
So i need to run 2 different  variant
1 for Removing NDLF stataus through COID and
2 for Updating DLFL status through program .
Do you have any better solution than this.
    Regards,
    Amit

  • SOP mass processing problem

    Hi All,
I am working on flexible planning in SOP.. I am trying to transfer the SOP plan to demand management through mass processing function..
    I have done the following...
I created transfer profile through MC8S
i created activity through MC8T  and assigned the transfer profile created earlier..
then created a mass processing job through MC8D and then finally scheduled it... SOP plan is not getting transferred to demand management.
I am getting the below error...
When I transfer the plan manually through MC90 for each material transfer is successful...
why  the plan is not getting transferred through mass processing.. can somebody help me out...
    Thanks
    Kumar

    Hi,
Thanks for reply.. our planning periodicity is weekly buckets....
I am sending the screen shots of the same....
    Screen shot of planning type...
    Screen shot of MC8D...
I have entered plan in weekly buckets
Now this is not getting transferred to demand management...
    Can you help me out...

  • Mass processing of TO

    Hello all,
I have a client scenario, in which picking is done. i want to know any SAP fuctionality that exists for mass processing of TOs. IF so, pl. post it the t-code and the procedure.
    Thanks,
    Maxx

    Hello Maxx,
Instead of using very generic words, please be specific.
    btw,
In picking process you can have the following optimization:
    1. Auto Delivery creation: You need to setup batch job to create outbound delivery automatically.
    2. Auto TO creation: You need to configure WMTA output type to create auto TO (Search forum for settings), for all WM relevent delivery will be picked automatically.
    3. When you go for auto TO creation, your search stretagy must be set.
    4. Auto TO confirmation: need to set configuration.
    Hope this helps.

  • DP Mass Processing error Variant &0000000000322 does not exist

    Hi,
When I double click on the process chain which is created already in transaction RSPC, the system displays message Variant &0000000000322 does not exist.
Please help to resolve this issue.
    thanks and regards
    Murugesan

    Hi,
Variants starting with & are temporary variants and are not transported from one system to another. So if you have transported your process chain from one system to another, the chances are the temporary variants have not been transported.
So pls change your process chain to use a more permanent variant. You can create permanent variants for mass processing jobs as follows.
Go to SE38, type program name as /sapapo/ts_batch_run. Click on variants and create variants with the relevant info.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Mass Processing for Forecast SOP

    Hi Experts,
I have one requirement, I have to run Mass Processing for Forecast SOP in background Job based on consumption values updated in Material Master.
I have followed all instruction give for doing this process (SAP SOP Mass Processing - SAPs'WORD - We SAP For Your Cause) but could not achieve.
Can any one help to run in background job for Mass Processing for Forecast SOP.
    Thanks in Advance
    V.Sundeep

    Hello,
Refer KBA    1778072 - Error message MA 653 when running mass processing forecast (program RMCP6BIN)
Internal condition NOT IPRWA-VGVON IS INITIAL not fulfilled
Internal condition NOT IPRWA-VGBIS IS INITIAL not fulfilled
Forecast/historical period cannot be calculated MA 653
Check your planning type which is used for your batch job. The number of historical periods in planning type (transaction MC8B) must not be smaller than the number of historical periods in forecast profile (transaction MC96). If the number of forecast period is maintained in the forecast profile (transaction MC96) the number of future period in the planning type must not be smaller than the number of forecast period in the forecast profile.
A not appropriate entry in SOP User Settings (transaction MC79) in Number of periods in the planning horizon can have an effect on this also.

  • Mass processing for forecating in SOP

    Hi all
I ma able to forecast a material online thru MC87 in standard SOP, but when I try to set up a variant for mass processing in the background the forecasting does not work. Has anybody encountered this issue?
    thanks a lot

    Tajuddin
Thanks for your reply. I am reading the R/3 documentation and it talks about Mass processing of SOP forecasting ( R/3 documentation verbiage below) I am trying to follow these steps but it does not work. Isn't this mass processing supposed to be for forecasting in mass in background?
    Am i understanding this incorrectly?
How to Run the Forecast with Mass Processing
You can use SOP’s mass processing function to run the forecast. In this process:
    You create a forecast profile.
You create a planning activity and include in it this action (the forecast profile).
You create a mass processing job for this activity.
You schedule this mass processing job.
The results of the forecast will be different if the forecast is run at a high level and the results then disaggregated to the detailed level than if you carry out the forecast at the detailed level.

  • How to schedule the back job scheduling

how to schedule the back job for bdc , can we use it for both call transaction and session method . how to schedule the back job schedulinng for lsmw

    hi,
    Use t-code SM36 for scheduling.
    <b>Do reward.</b>

  • Background job is taking lot of time for processing the job.

One background job - which is processing Idocs is processing a job for more than 2000+ seconds.. and completed tho.
But this is happening for the past few days.. is there any way to trouble shoot, or find from any logs of this completed job, to find out why it was taking lot of time for processing.
Can you please tell me the steps of analyzing / trouble shooting why it was taking lot of time daily.
    Regards,
    Satish.

    Hi Satish,
Run DB stat from db13 it will improve the performance.
Check number of idocs. You can send part by part, instead of sending huge data.
    Check SM58 logs
