Mass User Maintenance in Portal

Hi All,
is there a way to do mass user maintenance in EP (7.01) just like we use SU10 in the ABAP stack? We need to change the user mapping for system access for all users (400+) for MDM catalog integration.
Any help is appreciated.
Marco

Hi Pavan,
If your requirement is just to assign user groups to a single user who exists in the Portal, you can do that through Identity Management by searching for the user and by modifying the assigned groups.
If the user does not exist in the Portal and you wish to import the user and assign the groups simultaneously, you can use the Import feature of UME. Using the import functionality, all the user information will get imported, including the roles and groups assigned. Please refer to the below format:
[User]
uid=userid
last_name=Lastname
first_name=Firstname
language=en
accessibility=0
role=pcd:portal_content/com.sap.portal.xxx;
group=Administrators;
Hope this helps!!!

  • Mass User Deletion in Portal

    HI Experts,
    Is there anyway to Delete large number of users from Portal ,
    we know about Mass user creation but what about Deletion?
    Any thing regarding the same will be veryhelp and will be rewarded
    With Regards,
    Dayakar.

    Hi dayakar,
    I think there is no standard way to delete mass portal users other than Identity management (advance search) as other said above.There is no standard procedure like IMporting multiple users.
    this is a sample code for deleting a single user ( i never tried for mass deletion ) in WDJ.
    try {
    IUser user = userFact.getUserByLogonID(u201Cuseridu201D);
    userFact.deleteUser(user.getUniqueID());
    } catch (UMException ex)
    String.out.println(ex.toString()) ;

  • Mass user delete in portal?

    I have a feeling what I want to do is not possible in the portal. We are converting all of our UME based users to LDAP. I have created the users in LDAP and prepared the import file for portal.
    I need to mass delete about 120 users UME accounts in the portal. Is there a way to perform a mass delete? Unfortunately I cannot filter out the search results for the users I need to delete.
    Is there some level of functionality in EP like SU10?
    Thanks.
    Todd

    Here's one Idea.
    Delete the 120 IDs in the Source System and Sync with UME. Results depent on Config Settings for UME and the Source System.

  • Mass User Change in Portal

    Hi,
    I have to add two portal roles to about 150 users.  Is it possible to do it without manually adding each role to individual users?
    Regards
    Abdul

    Abdul,
    fastest way would be:
    - go to User Management on your Java-Start-Screen
    - go to "Import"
    - enter somethig like this in the big text-field:
    [Group]
    gid=MyTestGroup
    gdesc=This is the group I want
    user=user1;userid2;userid3;....
    - cicl "Upload"
    - then assign the role to the created group

  • User mapping from portal to R/3

    Hello everyone,
    Our situation is this :
    We made some visual composer iviews (charts and tables) that get data from R/3.
    Instead of creating users in R/3, we want to use only one public user who can only call RFC's in R/3. So how is the user mapping implemented in this situation?
    Please give me detailed explanation for it or links of documentation.
    I will be appreciative and all answers will be rewarded with points.
    Thanks for help.

    In addition and from a maintenance perspective you could do a: Portal Group to R/3 UserMapping.
    This will then automatically map all Portal Users in the Portal Group to the one R/3 user in the back-end. This saves effort when new users are created on the portal you don't have to map them all.
    This method is also proposed by SAP for mapping to MDM for example.
    NOTE: When you choose this you cannot trace the user in the back-end because
    this back-end user is shared. If this is not a problem for your scenarion then I would say go for it.

  • Where to see the user maintenance activity log (creation,deletion..)?

    Hi, SDN Fellows.
    This should be a Basis question. But I only able to find this category (Netweaver AS) to write this post.
    Our current user management engine is taken the user data source from the ABAP System (CRM system).
    I know that I can do the user maintenance tasks through TCode: SU01.
    I just wonder where I can see the log for all the user management activities, i.e. 1) User account creation; 2) user account deletion; 3) user profile modification and etc for particular period.
    Another question, can I see this activity through portal too? Assuming I am having Super Admin role portal.
    Thanks,
    Kent

    Hi Kent,
                     You can view the information in SU01-->Information----> change documents for the user your 1,2, and 3 can be viewed here.
              This information you can't see in the portal even you had super user access.

    Hari.

  • Problem with XK99 Mass Load Maintenance

    Hi all,
    While trying to use XK99 for Mass Load Maintenance, to mark suppliers for deletion at Co Code level (LFB1-LOEVM), we're getting the error 'Changes could not be saved' and we couldn't find the reason why.
    Can you give us a hand on this to figure out why this is happening?
    Thanks.

    I checked the log in t-code SLG1 but couldn't find too much more information in there..
    Changes could not be saved
    Message no. M&106
    Diagnosis
    Due to inconsistencies, your changes could not be saved in the database.
    Procedure
    To find out why the error occurred, try changing a single data record using the normal change transaction and not in this transaction.
    With txn XK06 the user didn't have problems.
    Also, while checking again the information provided by user I realized that she's also trying to update field LFA1-LOEVM.
    I checked there in that table... and that field was not visible, does this mean it's not Mandatory?
    We made a little debug and found out that to update this field the txn checks for other fields and documents...

  • Notification of Server Maintenance in Portal

    Hi All,
    I would like to know how I can display a common message of say "Server Maintenance for few hours" to all users on the Portal.
    Let me know how i can implement that notification concept in the Portal
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
    It is not possible to do this in the portal itself, because the portal is down when you are doing maintenance. A few concepts I have seen are:
    1. Show maintenance messages before the maintenance period in the logonscreen (like "Monday February 19. The portal will be down for maintenance between 1am and 3am").
    2. On the actual downtime of the server you have some options depending on your architecture:
    -If you use a ISA server you can forward all requests for the portal to a "Maintenance page" on a simple web server in your network.
    -If you use IIS with IISProxy you can temporarily disable this, and replace the url template with the "Maintenance page".
    -If you are not using any other systems between client and portal, you will get a 404 not found message. Only solution for this is to change the DNS entry that points to the portal by changing it to point to a webserver, showing the "Maintenance page". However, this could be quite tricky, since DNS entries are often cached for longer periods than you typical maintenance downtime.

    Hi stefania
    Looks like link is tricky, if you download the pdf wont work, you need to activate the pdf plugin on your browser, like firefox and read pdf from there.

  • How to restrice ananymous user access to portal link /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default?

    Hi experts,
    We had an issue with portal access. I wonder if portal is venerable for security threats?
    Could you please let me how to restrict the unauthorized users (anonymous user) to the portal URL.
    https://HOST:50001//irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default .
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi Maruti,
    Hope you are doing good.
    Can't you just amend the portal permissions so that this access is not possible.
    The PCD location should be:
    com.sap.portal.system/security/sap.com/NetWeaver.Portal/no_safety/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher....
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you and have a nice day!

    Hi folks,
         i am unable to create the user in user administration in portal due to the following error,
    could you please help regarding this issue
    "Current user has user creation permissions in the UME, but cannot create users in the back-end system (data source). The original and possibly untranslated message was: "No active writeable datasource found for user creation, check your Persistence Configuration.".

    Hi All,
    I am closing this thread as this is not in the correct forum.  This should be opened in LDAP or UME.  Please open the thread under the correct heading.

  • Can you restrict creation of user types in Portal?

    Hi,
    Is it possible to give a group of users the ability to just create 'Vendor' accounts in the Portal?
    While another group of users the ability to just create 'Contractor' accounts in the Portal?
    ...and other group of users to create just another 'type' of users in the Portal?
    Thanks,
    Sk

    Humm, it's seems a bit complex but try to based your drop down over a new object "UserType".
    See
    http://theidentityguy.blogspot.fr/2011/07/populating-rcdc-dropdownlist-with.html
    After that gives the right to view only object UserType "Vendor" for the set "All admins of Vendor"
    I never try this, it's only an idea :)

  • Removing the responsbility of user maintenance from the DBA

    Suppose you were working with a customer whose DBAs refuse to be involved with user maintenance, i.e. creation and deletion of users, password maintenance, role and privilege assignment etc. What technology and/or approach would you recommend?
    Some random thoughts along this line:
    1. Ask the DBA to create one user with CREATE USER and ALTER USER privileges, and give that user access to SQL*Plus so that he can run the queries to create and maintain users himself. Obvious downside: Someone else has to know SQL, at least a few SQL statements, or have a custom user interface built for them that wraps the SQL statements. Is this really such a bad solution?
    2. LDAP or OID. I don't understand enough about either of these two technologies to truly be able to discuss the pros and cons. How exactly do they work in a Windows network envionment, perhaps one with or without Active Directory and/or Windows Groups? Can they really allow someone other than the DBA to create users, maintain passwords and maintain roles and privileges? If so, doesn't the person in charge of assigning roles and privileges to users have to have CREATE USER or ALTER USER privileges anyway? Really, why would this be such an improvement over solution #1?
    3. Any other approaches and/or experiences along this lines anyone wouldn't mind sharing?
    Appreciating any and all insights,
    DTXCF

    THanks sybrandb.
    On #2, suppose the application is set up in such a way that by default all of the security is handled in the database, i.e. when the application is installed and the scripts run to create the database it creates roles like these:
    cst_role_product_editor
    cst_role_product_admin
    cst_role_product_viewer
    cst_role_order_viewer
    cst_role_order_admin
    cst_role_order_editor
    cst_role_store_viewer
    cst_role_store_editor
    cst_role_store_admin
    in other words, for each object type in the database (stores, products, orders, coupons, catalogs etc.) all of these roles are created at the database level, and by default, each individual user has to be created using a CREATE USER command with the proper roles assigned.
    If I take an application like this to the client and they say they want to implement LDAP and/or OID, when the people who create these users outside the database as you mention,
    1) Does it create any additional actual Oracle users, and
    2) Can LDAP and OID handle actually assigning these users to specific Oracle roles?
    And one more question - can you explain what exactly is a proxy account to a rookie like me who thinks proxy sounds like the name of a night club you'd find in Las Vegas?
    Sorry to impose so much but I do appreciate the help.
