Massive delete

Hi ,
My scnerion is like this ,the tagte table called tab a with different load sources i.e 'BS','FI' ,'CC' but load source with CC has huge volume of data in the target table when run the consecutive i.e. 2nd run delete existing records based on load source and re insert into taget with respective load source.when executing the below procedure in production ,it takes 5 to 6 hours to delete 5million records and insert with 6 million records for CC.Is there anyway to optimize below code to improve the performance.
cannot do the following
can't use temp table to hold the data and truncate the base table because client will not allow that.
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE P11(LOAD_SRC IN VARCHAR2)IS
I_COUNT NUMBER;
CUSOR C1 IS SELECT ROWID FROM TAB A WHERE LOADSRC=LOAD_SRC;
BEGIN
FOR REC IN C1
LOOP DELETE FROM TAB A WHERE A.ROWID=REC.ROW_ID;
IF (MOD(I_COUNT ,10000)=0) THEN
COMMIT;
END IF;
END LOOP;
END;
Thanks and Regards,
MM

Hi Nicolas
Please give me the example of truncate a partition (for a LOADSRC value) instead of use any delete statement.I know that combination of huge selects and frequent commits could lead to take long long time and Instead of select whole set of records ,Is it possible to select only once of one record when time of cursor opening because the code I posted keep on using since long and did not get any issues because they dealt with less volume of data.
Cheers
MM

  • Massive Deleting of Users in BO 5.1 Sun

    Hi everybody,
Is it possibile in my environment (Business Objects 5.1 on Sun Solaris) to massively delete a list of users?
I know that in Windows Environment it can be done from the Supervisor using the Import functionality (On the File menu, I click Import Users and Groups), I couldn't find a similiar feature for Sun.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Anyway to massively delete objects in a change request?

Under Object List of Request of the change request, there are so many entries that we find we can only delete one by one manually, is there massive deletion of all the object in the list?

    Hi Kevin,
Talk to ur security person , he can add that .
Apart from that 3 options before the cancel relocation transport u will have unlock objects option.
Try this thing I am not sure it will work but
goto se01 > there is the Tools button in the second line under the menu bar > click on that .
It will also take u to the same screen but sometimes it may bypass the security and take u to the original se03 screen
    Try this and lemme know
and talk to security person to add that option to ur role
    Thanks

  • Massive Deletion of Open Sales Orders/Deliveries

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows a massive transaction to delete open sales orders and deliveries.
I try using de MASS transaccion but here I can only reject the items (in sales orders) but the thing is that the customer wants the open orders and deliveries to be deleted.
    Could anyone help me please?
    Thanks and regards!
    Lore

    Hi,
You can only delete a complete sales document or delivery if there are no subsequent documents. For example, you could not delete a complete sales document if items had already been delivered and therefore, delivery documents had been created.
If you want to delete a sales document, you effectively remove it from the database which means that it is no longer possible to analyze it. Therefore, its recommend that you work with reasons for rejection. Being the case it can be considered to reject the items rather.
    Hope it helps.

  • Massive deletion of planned orders

    Hi everyone,
I would be very grateful if someone could tell me how to delete massively planned orders.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Ben

    Hi,
If you delete the PIR or demand in MD61 and run MRP in MD02 planning mode -3, all the planned order will get delete.
If you have firmed planned order assign Roll forward period.
This is you can do in tcode OPPR, define MRP group.Define consumption mode & Roll forward period.
If you put 2 days in roll forward means, all the old firmed planned orders created before 2 days will get delete.

  • Memory space won't change despite massive deleting........

I have 5.8 GB of free space on my 3rd gen 64 GB itouch. I have recently deleted well over 10 GB on the device, but I still only have 5.8 GB of free space. In fact, I have recently added some media, and I have 5.6 GB of free space according to my itunes and itouch. In trying to fix this problem, I have: 1) reset my itouch settings, 2) restarting my itouch and 3) updating my software. This has not done anything. What should I do try next?

Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files.  Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
To restore to factory settings/new iPod see:

  • Massive deleting rows not performant

The goal of our DataFlow is to delete a lot of rows from a table on a criteria (primary key for example)
    It takes too much time.
When we look at the queries on the oracle database it seems that DI works line by line.
It is possible to improve the method without using a sql transform?
    Thanks

SQL Transform no, but sql() function.
But in your case you want to have a dataflow that deletes the rows, its optimizations are described here:

  • Is it possible to do massive Delete of Revisions with Repository Manager

    Hi,
    I use UCM 11g.
I am planing to delete all the revisions that have the ContentType "DataSheet". That is about 10.000 revisions. I did start the Repository Manager and filtered all the content for ContentType "DataSheet".
My problem is that I can delete only 200 items at a time, cause Repository Manager is showing me only the first 200 revisions. This is very time consuming.
Is there another way to do this?
    Thx
    Tobi

    Use Archiver...
Define your export query to cath all the 'Data Sheet' items
make sue that you choose the option for All Revisions
Then when you choose Export from the Actions menu tick the checkbox to delete items after export
This way they will all be deleted and you will still have a handy back up of them in Archive on the file system - so if you need to you can restore.

  • Massively PO deletion

    Hi gurus,
I would like to delete some purchase orders in SRM. As they are many, is there a way to massively delete them?
It would be really time consuming delete one PO at a time.
    Thank you for your help

    Hello Sarah ,
Firstly I am curious to know , why you want to delete the PO's . Are they already deleted at line item and you want to remove it from the Purchaser view or those are old PO's.

  • How do I delete a large file without my computer crashing?

I am playing around with HD video and have a very large Quicktime File (12.5GB) that froze my computer while rendering.  I need to delete it.  (CRASH: screen freezes and dark line slowly comes from top to bottom and once entire screen is slightly darker, a post in the middle pops up and tells me to turn off computer by holding power button).
After a lot of trial and error, it seems the problem is that the computer can't handle the massive deletion.  Unlike a lot of other similar issues on this forum, this is a single file and not hundreds, so i can't delete portions at a time and be done with it.  I have run through all my ideas and need help on how to delete this file from my computer and have come up with two possible ways:
1 - Split this video into smaller files.  I dont know how to do this: I have SPLIT-CONCAT but that duplicates (then splits) and does not actually split the original.  I tried "replacing" the video with the same-named smaller file and it crashed the computer.
2 - Change preferences on this computer somehow to allow this massive deletion. I tried a force empty through terminal and it did the same crash.  I dont know if there is a preference (disk manager) or otherwise to get rid of this file.

  • Deletion of accounts in BCS

    Dear experts,
I would like to delete about 100 accounts in BCS (we don't use them anymore). I know how to do it account by account (T code ucwb > context menu : delete), but this process is very long for 100 accounts.
Maybe does anyone know a hint to do a "massive deletion" and thus gain some time ?
Thanx very much for your help

If there is any data for historical periods in these accounts it is necessary to keep these accounts. However, they may be blocked from posting.
I am not aware of a means for mass deletion of master data in BCS.

  • IPhoto 8.1.2, OS10.6.8, library huge - can I just delete it?

OK - tried searching for this but can't find a specific answer.
My 2009 MacBook Pro has Mountain Lion 10.6.8 running it, with iPhoto 8.1.2 installed.
I am trying to clean up my MacBook in preparation for installing Mavericks 10.8. But I barely have room left for the Mavericks download of 5GB.
Am researching how to remove apps in this forum and on the web to regain space, but my biggest issue for HDD space is the iPhoto library (I used 'Disk Inventory X' to find the biggest hogs, it was recommended elsewhere in the Apple discussions section).
Anyway, the library is just *awfully* huge. Like a quarter to third of the 500GB drive! Price I pay for having two little kids that I over-document, I guess.
I have copied the "originals" and "modified" folders from within the library to an external drive, so I can now safely erase the copies on the MacBook without data loss.
So, here's what I need to know:
    1) Can I just delete the entire library? I know it will make iPhoto mad, but won't iPhoto just automatically rebuild it's needed file structure on a reboot and relaunch?, Since it won't find any images to load it would just create an empty library? Don't quite know how 'smart' iPhoto would be if it's library got removed...
    2) If that won't work, what will? The thing's just too big to stay on the laptop - gotta go.
and last but not too critical 3) If anyone knows of a good mid-level summary of how iPhoto does it's thing regarding the library files setup it has, please post a link - I'd like to understand it, but the info I find is scattered and most often either too basic or *way* to deep.
    Thanks, all.
    Hoping for a reply....

I have copied the "originals" and "modified" folders from within the library to an external drive, so I can now safely erase the copies on the MacBook without data loss.
Make a current backup of your mac, before you start such a massive delete. You will not want to risk the photos of your kids.
Then copy your complete iPhoto Library to the external drive, not just the originals and modified folder. Otherwise you will no longer have the references to the albums, books, your descriptions, keywords, you will have lost all work you invested into your photos.
Then launch iPhoto with the options-key ⌥ held down and select to open the iPhoto library on the external drive. Give it a test run, to see, if it is working.
Only if this succeeds, delete the library from your internal drive.
    3) I'll look for a tutorial, but right now I don't know of any. But actually, you do not really need to know, how iPhoto organizes the library. Only iPhoto need to be able to find files inside. For the users are many different ways provided, to access the photos inside. Just keep the library intact as an entity. To access the photos, see Terence Devlin's User Tips:                   How to Access Files in iPhoto
This most recent user Tip explains how iPhoto stores the photos and how to backup the Library and to keep it safe:                   iPhoto and File Management.

  • Deleting iphoto photos from iPad

When backing up my ipad to my macbook before updating to IOS 7 somehow I managed to sync all the photos from my mac which were in Iphoto to my ipad - all 10 GB of photos. Now I don't have enough space to update to IOS7 or indeed download any more apps.
How do I undo this operation? I tried resyncing my ipad to the mac book but I'm not getting any option to do with photos. If I delete the photos individually from the ipad will they still be on iphotos when  I sync again to the macbook?
All suggestions welcome and thank you in advance.

You haven't told us anything about your iPad's environment:  Which model?  Whici iOS version?
But perhaps the most important question is how much free space you have?  Look at Settings > General > Usage and note the available space.  It needs to be absolutely no less than 10% of the iPad's total storage space.
If space is tight, you might try deleting other things first.
Whether space is tight or not, you might try deleting fewer photos at a time.  The feeling I get is you're trying to do one massive delete.  Try some smaller ones first.

  • Planned Price Deletion

    Good morning guys,
i need to delete all planned prices stored on material masters.
    I'm referring to fields:
    - MBEW-ZPLP1
    - MBEW-ZPLP2
    - MBEW-ZPLP3
I checked Tcode MASS and it seems that fields MBEW-ZPLP* are not available.
I checked Tcode CKR1 as well and it seems that only standard prices (both planned and current) can be deleted. They are:
    - MBEW-ZPLPR
    - MBEW-LPLPR
    - MBEW-VPLPR
    - MBEW-STPRS
and they are not what i need to delete.
Please, does anybody know how can i easily and massively delete planned prices?
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Enrico

    HI,
I tried MASS but was not able to change the planned price as well.  This exists in Costing 2 tab of material master data.
I have seen customers before who created custom programs to update planned price field.
As planned price is entered as one of the criteria for material valuation in the valuation variant, make sure that this change is rightfully impacted in standard cost estimate updates.
    Thanks,
    Ram
