Material Requirement for non regular materials

Hi,
In case of MRP, we have some materials which have no regular consumption pattern. Therefore we cant predict the procurement plan through MRP run. Currently we are running these material by calculating the safety manually and uploading to the system. This is actually a out of system process.
Therefore please instruct me if any one who have an idea how to calculate dynamic safety level/re-order point for these type of material or any one knows different methodology of MRP running for these type of material.
Thanks in advance,
Nihal Wijerathne

Hi,
Consider a finished product A,which has a main assembly A1 & in this example we will take A1 for MPS,lets say for making A1 you need a special machine(Work center) & this machine is a critical resource for that company,So A1 is planned ahead in MPS to ensure that critical resource is efficiently utilised & at the same time A1 is also made on time,so MPS is run on A1 first before going for the MRP run(for the rest). As a result of MPS the necessary orders are planned at that level(in our case planned order for A1). Dependent requirements (if any) are placed on the next BOM level down, and then the process stops,Like wise if in your compnay if there are n products amoung which some products contibute a high profit then you can even take them afor MPS
Normally MPS run before the MRP and during MPS system plans only those parts which are marked as MPS parts via MRP type. Here MRP plans single items (MPS items) and dependent requiremenst will be created for the parts which are just below the MPS assembly. It is advisable to run MPS a day before of the MRP run.
For MPS run you have used tcode MD41. It is a single item multi level planning run.
MPS plan for below one level only. But this is the tcode provided for multi level run.
For single item single level run use tcode MD42.
In your scenario, system created palnned order upto ROH level, eventhough HALB & ROH mrp types are PD.
But with tcode MD02 or MD03, can not run MRP type M0 and series
During normal MRP run system will not plan MPS parts again. only dependent assemblies and parts will be planned.
First run MPS only with MRP type M0,M1,M2 and all and run with MD42 and then go for MRP in MD02 or MD03.
You can schedule MRP run , First run MPS items and then MRP in MDBT also.

    Hi,
For automatic PO creation follow the steps.
    1) Material Master purchasing view tick automatic PO check box  (Material type NLAG)
    2) Vendor Master purchasing view tick automatic PO check box.
    3) Maintain Source list for Vendor & Material.
    4) Maintain Purchase Info Record.
    5) Create a Purchase Requisition.
    6) Use T.Code: ME59N & execute for PR for vendor, you will be able to create automatic PO.
    Note
Ensure that Purchase Info Record should be there.
If you have more than one vendor then fixes only one vendor in source list.
During PR creation select source determination check box.

  • Direct GRN (non order items) to cost center for Non Stackable Materials

    Hi All,
We can do direct GRN (non order items) to cost center for Non Stackable Materials.
If it is possible. Please advice me
    Thanks In adance

    Hi,
    Your question is not clear.
    Ok.
If you want to issue goods to cost center you can use 201 movement type.
If you want do create automatic PO in back ground during goods receipt, you can do it with customization. For automatic PO creation during goods receipt, you can search in SDN, you can get the answer.

  • Split valuation for non-valuated materials

    Hi dudes,
We are implementing SAP for our Subcontractor.
our SC  receive all components from our company ( on free ) but sometimes they purchase the same material themselves for other uses. so we decided to use split valuation to separate valuated and non-valuated materials.
I did configuration and created 2 valuation type ( valuated - nonvaluated )
when I create Purchase order it askes for valuation type but even when I use non-valuation type in PO it asks for price!!!!
do any of you have used split valuation for this target?
    have the same problem?
    what should I do actually??

    Hi,
Is someone in the subcontracting plant going to do a process order on the materials you send them? Or are you only going to track the finished inventory once it reaches your plant?
    In the first case:
    1) Create a STO to the SC plant. This stock will have to be priced.
    2) Inventory reaches SC plant. They perform production process.
    3) finished inventory is sent using another STO.
    2nd Case:
    1) Create a SC vendor using the SC plant as a vendor.
    2) Create a SC PO to this vendor using this vendor and transfer goods to him. In this case, goods are transferred for 'free' as they really belong to you and not to the SC
    3) Once the production process is over and the finished product is sent back to you, do a GR. The raw material sent to the SC will be consumed.

  • Plan Material Requirements for Detached Order Assemblies in ETO

    Hi all,
I need to plan requirements for a material used in engineering-to-order production. It's written in SAP Library ( http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/f6/089036e1e4b603e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm ) that I can plan independent requirements and assign them to the sales order. It's right, but I have two different sales orders and I need to assign a quantity to one and another one to the other: the system assign the whole quantity only to an order apart from the dates I have planned the independent requirements.
    Have anyone a hint?
    Thanks.

  • Break up of raw material cost for released finished materials

    Hi All,
I have searched various threads before posting this question.
Is there any standard report available to view the breakup of raw material cost for a release finished material.
I have cost component split report but it shows everything in raw materials.... is there any report to show a break up of this raw materials cost.
If there is no standard report can you please how I should develop a customized report.
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Dear Srinivas,
You will get the cost breakup in the following report:
    CK84_99 - Itemization
    CK86_99 - Costed Multilevel BOM
    CK80_99 - Cost Components
You will get the same information in CK13N
From the standard SAP,  no report will show breakup for all the materials in single report at a time.
We have developed the report through ABAP functionality

  • Material type--for non valuated

UNBW (Non-valuated) material type will not work for my project since it does not have sales views.  I want any one to suggest<b> standard material type</b> that can be used for non-valuated that has sales view, purchasing, and classification.
my client don't want to add user departments(sales screens) for UNBW or copy it and make a customized one and add sales views to that.
which standard material type would have much similarities as that of a nonvaluated material type.
Please try to answer correctly..feel free to question if not understood.

Hi,I think your clint have known the UNBW (Non-valuated) material type is NO value in the stock,is also NO accounting view(and also NO classification).
What's your clint want to do for the standard material type that can be used for non-valuated?
I try the standard material type as below:
    (1)if for the value and quantity NOT into stock in purchasing;
In PO:make a account assignment category so that assign a cost center for the consumpion
    (2)if for the value NOT into stock in purchasing,but the quantity into stock;
In PO:deselect the Invoice receipt indicator(If the indicator is not set, the goods are to be delivered free of charge)
    (3)if for the value NOT into stock in transporting,but the quantity into stock;
In MIGO select 511 as free-of-charge
    (4)if for sale as free-of-charge;
there are two choice, one way for a sale order,or another way for a goods issues

  • Material Requirement for the Lot Based Job

    Hi,
I'm creating an Lot based Job through the request 'Import Lot Based Jobs' . I need to insert values into the table Wip_Requirement_Operations. That is the Lot Based Job form -> Press button component - > Material Requirement Form
I would like to know whether there is any interface available for loading the value into this table.
Can anyone help me in this ?
    Thanks
    GM

Oracle Manufacturing APIs guide is not clear on this subject.
Lot based job are loaded through interface WSM_LOT_JOB_ INTERFACE and one option is ALLOW_EXPLOSION which tells if the BOM used is the standard one or if you provide a custom BOM . In this case, the user guide does not provide you any method.
(it tells : ALLOW_EXPLOSION: determines whether the system uses the standard bill of
material (BOM) and routing or a custom BOM and routing that you supply. If
this flag is set to N or n, you must manually provide a custom BOM )
=> You should ask Orcle how the custom BOM should be provided to the Lot based job interface.
I do not know if this is the same as for discrete jobs:
For discrete jobs, such data are loaded through interface table WIP_JOB_DTLS_INTERFACE.
Maybe once you have created your job, you can use this WIP_JOB_DTLS_INTERFACE to load component requirements ?

  • Recurring Inspection is required for non batch managed material

    Hi Gurus,
My scenerio is I want recurring inspection of material  but my material is not batch managed. is there any way around to cater this requirement?
    Regards

Without Batch management the reccuring inspection is not possible because if you receive 100 quantity of material A on date X and consume 50 and again you purchase 50 on daye Y and comsume 30 out of it .. Then how the system will know about when to trigger this inspection and for how much quantity..Even you use development the system canot identify the materials got consumed .. If it is serialized material then you can do it by creating the development table and maintaining the receipt date for each serial no and the inspection date...

  • NO GR required for non stock PR/PO

My client has a concern with their business users selecting item category and account category during creation of a non-stock PR. The solution that the client prefers is to configure one item category and one account assignment category combination per document type so that the item category and account assignment category default during PR creation. Therefore, we have configured a generic account assignment to be shared across multiple purchasing doc types.
We have a scenario where a particular non stock PO (using a particular PR/PO doc type)  should not require an SAP GR. I understand that the GR indicator can be controlled via item category or account assignment category configuration but unfortunately the item category configuration cannot be changed and we are restricted to use of only one account assignment category to item category. Only one item category provides 2-way match (no SAP GR); item category = limit. However, this item category requires a limit value to be entered at time of PR and validity period to be entered at time of PO which is undesirable to the client.
Here is the business process flow:
    1) User orders material from a supplier in emergency situation via offline process.
    2) Goods are received / consumed with offline process
    2) Invoice is received from the supplier and the emergency PR is created with doc type X
    4) PR is routed for approval
    5) PO created.
    6) Invoice entry via MIRO against PO
Edited by: David Hill on Apr 29, 2009 10:36 PM

Ideally I would avise my clients to use standard SAP and select the account assignment and item category combination. Then they would also be able to check or uncheck the GR required field. Unfortunately, and I suppose this can be also be a response to the sarcastic reply given by Jurgen, the client wants this fully automated. They feel it is too much for their requisitioners to enter account assignment and item category. They also will not give access for the user to decide whether a GR is requird or not. Thus I am trying to find a way to default the account assignment and make GR not required.
    Thanks for your reply

    Need Clarification:
I"m using the below query for this requirement. I wish to know whether this query suits for my clients requirement or not. If its so, I need to know how to group by T4.[Code] (Raw material Name)   and need to get the sum of    T4.[Quantity]  (BOM quantity)      and  (T1.[OpenQty]*T4.[Quantity]) as TOTALQTY under each raw material group

  • Dependent requirements for Top level materials planned in MRP

    Hey Gurus,
A top level material 20350 has a component 30397 and both of these materials are planned in APO.  We have another top level material 30399 (but this material is planned in MRP) and the component 30397 (is planned in APO) will the dependent requirements from material 30399 be populated in APO for material 30397?
    Sincerely,
    Kris

    Kris
As Datta has mentioned the dependent demand will not reflect for the component material in APO. We had the same scenario as yours and this is what we did
We modified the Planned order integration model filter criteria by adding custom logic in the BAdI CIF_INT_MODEL. The logic was to query the BOM tables in R/3 and find out all parents that have SNP relevant materials as components and include these parents in the list of materials for which planned orders are to be CIF'ed from R/3 . The BAdI will be invoked when you run the IM generation .
You also have to CIF the BOM to APO . Once the PDS and planned orders are available in APO , the dependent demand will be created automatically. ( If you do not want to modify the BAdI then you can write a query and identify the parents and add them to the integration model manually)
    Thanks

  • Intercompany STO for Non-valuated materials

    Hi,
we a scenarion Intercompany STO with Non-valuated mateiral. In which we are doing. STO, Delivery, GI and GR.
After GR, its creating account documents. As the material is non-valuated in both of the plants, why this Acconting doucments are being created. One of the suggestions is there should'nt be any accounting documents.
    Please advise.
thanks in advance to all of you.

    Hi Rajendra,
When you checked "GR Non-valuated": As the term is self-explanatory, the goods item will not be valuated at the point of GR. If this box is not checked, then the valuation will take place at the point of invoice verification. As such, no Accounting documents will be posted.
When you removed the checked box "Inv. Receipt": This indicator will determine whether you want an invoice receipt to be linked to the line items. If it is checked, then an invoice verification will follow. However, as you have done (by removing the check box), the goods for this line item will be treated by the system as free-of-charge delivery instead, hence no Accounting doc is posted.
    Hope this clarify your doubts..
    Thanks.
    Rgds.
