Material SpecProcurement field (SOBSL)

Hi all
I have a material number MATNR and I have to retrieve corresponding Material SpecProcurement field (SOBSL). Is there a bapi that allow me to do this? I see BAPI_MATERIAL_MRP_LIST but when trying to use it I get this error from bapi I cannot understand: No MRP list exists; while for this material there are MRP elements (I can see in MM03).

Hello,
you could use the BAPI_MATERIAL_GET_ALL - there you could find the field in the structure PLANTDATA. Or you could read it simply with a select form the MARC. In both cases you 'ld have to know the plant, because it's plant specific.

During PO creation vendor material no field should be populated using BADI

Hi,
I have created on PR and using PR I am trying to create PO. But one field vendor material no remains blank when giving vendor at the top vendor field.
So my requirement is the vendor material no field in item overview should be populated regardless filling vendor field at the top.
So this functionality can be achieved by BADI or User exit.
So any one give the proper suggestion to get the value in the vendor material no field while creating PO.

use the badi ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST in that method PROCESS_ITEM....
use GET_DATA method like im_item->get_data.
and modify the value anduse set_data ...

Mass changes of Material Master field with different values

Hi,
How to change a field in Material Master for more than thousand materials. I think MM17 can only be used for mass changes of materials with same values. I need to upload different values for different materials. Is there any other way to do this.

I think you have to use LSMW for mass updation for Material Master fields with different values.

Material Document field to be added in the Quality Notification F3 type

i have to add Material Document field in the Quality Notification (F3 type --Material rel. defect ) through
T-code QM01.

IMG-->QM>Quality notifications->Notification Creation->Define Screen Templates--> Define Initial Screens--> select F3 here and enter QM03_CREATE_QMEL_WITH_WINDOW in the column Name of the function module and enter 0100 in the initial screen column., save it.
If you wish to make material document field mandatory, then go to
IMG-->QM>Quality notifications->Notification Creation->Define Screen Templates--> Field Selection: Initial Screens--> select the radio button as REQ for the field RQM01-MBLNR that is for material doc.
Similarly for in the above menu you can make mandatory for reference object screen also
IMG-->QM>Quality notifications->Notification Creation->Define Screen Templates--> Field Selection: Reference Object Screens--> select the radio button as REQ for the field RQM01-MBLNR that is for material doc.
Now, once you finish this , go and try QM01 you will find the POP for Material document entry coming immediately if you pres the Notification button for F3 Notification type.

Material Description Field to be in Display mode.

I am trying to make the Material Description field in the Display mode for PR. I changed the screen layout value into display for screen variants ME51N and also for NBB. Then also it is not getting effected. please advice on this issue on what needs to be done from the config setting side. Thanks.

Hi,
its fine that you made changes in NBB Field selection group for PR, but have you assigned that field selection group in Document type please check once,
untill and unless you assign the field selection group in Doc type you will not get the expected results.

I want to configure to bring back Material Group field is Missing in Material Master - Purchasing view. It is mandatory to Create & save a master. I cant save a master in sandbox. Need Help..

I make all field as Optional & Create master successfully.. Thanks.. I even verfied in J1ID Master for assesable value & Chapter ID Combination.. But in Cenvat Determination Field, How i can set Default Indicator for Modvat "tick" & how can i set Excise Intimation Date also.
I checked Material Master in mm03 [ Display].
I clicked More & Pre Vals. option in Foreign Trade Import.
For More, It shows this error.

Material master fields on plant level

is it possible that i can restrict fields on plant level, like one material type one field i want mand. in one plant and optional in other plant.

Yes, it posible:
go to SPRO
Logistics - General-> Material Master->Field Selection->Define Plant-Specific Field Selection and Plant-Specific Screen Selection (OMSA)
see the settings for the plant in field reference - you need a diferent reference to the diferent plants (group together similar plants - all the ones that you want the field to be mandetory should have the same field reference)
now go to OMS9 or OMSR
and set the field as mandetory for the field reference you have made in OMSA

We configure the material group to be optional field in Material master (for some reasons) but when we create the purchasing view the system always ask for Fill up the Material group field. Is that mandatory field control for material group is hard coded in the program ??

Facing Problem on Material No field in all the standard TCode

Dear Gurus
I am facing a problem which is like when ever I am trying to fint out the material no of our desire with material text with the Ffour option in Material No field on any of standard report like pending PO material wise party wise r pending pr the Ffour option is nt cming and instead a same material no is cming across all the tcode which is causing us problem to find out the our desire material no. Where as its wrking fine in other usr ids .

I am a bit confused by your use of abbreviations. However, it sounds like you are having an issue whereby your USERID does not manage the Material Number in the same way that other USERIDs are doing. Pls confirm.
First thing to check are your USERID parameters. SU3 > select parameters tab. Look for any parameter that contains the material number that is plaguing you; if you find one delete the material number from the parameter.
If you don't see the material number, then compare your parameters with the parameters of a user whom you want to emulate. Delete/add parameters from your profile to make yours similar to the 'good' one.

Procedure
1. Carry out the IMG activity Create Program for Customized Subscreens. This requires you to do the following:
a) Create a function group of your own, for example, with the name YENTERPRISE (steps 1 and 2 in the documentation for the IMG activity above).
b) Copy subscreen SAPLMGD1 2301 (Purchasing Data: General Data) to SAPLYENTERPRISE 2301, and subscreenSAPLMGD1 2701 (Storage Data: General Data) to SAPLYENTERPRISE 2701 (steps 3 to 7).
c) Remove all fields from subscreen SAPLYENTERPRISE 2301 with the exception of the Purchasing group, Material group, and Order unit using the Screen Painter (transaction SE51) (step 8).
Make sure that the fields you have removed are no longer included in checks. You do this by searching for the fields in the source code and making the lines in which they appear comment lines.
Using the Screen Painter, rename the frame text of both subscreens as follows:
General data -> Purchasing data: General data
General data -> Storage data: General data
2. Access the activity Define Structure of Data Screens for Each Screen Sequence, and do the following:
a) Create a new screen sequence, for example, with the ID ZY, by copying screen sequence 21.
b) Select screen sequence ZY and double-click Data screens.
c) With the exception of the data screens Basic Data 1 and Purchasing, delete all other data screens from screen sequence ZY
d) Rename the data screens as follows:
Basic Data 1 -> Basic Data
Purchasing   -> Purchasing/Storage
e) Assign the maintenance status L (storage) to the data screen Purchasing/Storage in addition to the screen's present maintenance status E (purchasing) since the screen now contains purchasing fields and storage fields.
f) Select the data screen Basic Data and double-click Subscreens. View the data screen and identify the subscreen assignments you want to delete by counting from top to bottom. In this case, seven subscreens appear on the screen. Delete the third, fifth, sixth, and seventh.
g) Select the data screen Purchasing/Storage and double-click Subscreens. Configure the data screen so that it contains the following subscreen assignments. (Subscreen SAPLMGD1 1005 is required because it contains the organizational level Storage location in addition to Plant.
        Program Screen
        SAPLMGD1 1005 (material description)
        SAPLYENTERPRISE 2301 (purchasing data: general data)
        SAPLYENTERPRISE 2701 (storage data: general data)
        SAPLMGD1 2302 (purchasing values)
        SAPLMGD1 0001 (blank subscreen)
        SAPLMGD1 0001 (blank subscreen)
3. Check the order of the two main screens in the activity Maintain Order of Main and Additional Screens.

if any know the table name which contains "material movement" field and ("vendor number" or any vendor related field)

Material movements are in tables MSEG and MKPF.

How to make material code field mandatory in VA01

Dear all,
I want to make material code field mandatory while creating sales order (VA01). As of now even if I dont enter material code , and just enter customer code and P.O. number , I am able to save my sales order.
I tried to do it with incompletion log , but could not succeed.
SHD0 could be an option, is there any simpler way out ?

Hi,
You have 2 options.
1 - Incompletion Log
If you add Material filed to your incompletion log, then when you try to save the sales order it'll give the "Save / Edit" pop up message. But then by pressing Save button you can save the sales order.
If you want to avoid that pop up; do this. (To avoid user saving Incomplete sales orders)
Go to VOV8 Tx.
Go in to your sales document type
Under "Transaction flow" section mark the "IIncompletion messages" tick box
Then try with a new sales order without a material number
If won't give that pop up message any more where as it'll always go in to the incompletion log. So you can't save it without maintaining the material.
That's a alternative way of doing.
2- SHD0.
