For analytical needs of ECC/SRM/eSourcing ere is a complementary analytical application for procurement analysis thats part of the Enterprise Performance Management category. The name of this application is Spend Performance Management. This is based on BW backend with a Adobe Flex frontend

Confirmation for Serialized Materials in SRM

Hi,
We have bunch of Serialized materials in SRM. Were able to create SC and PO 's/PR's were getting created.When I am trying to create Confirmation for Serialized Materials, its throwing me error and I dont see any field to enter the Serial Number.
Am i missing anything on the config side or this is standard bug?
If I am missing some steps to create confirmation for serialized items, pls od let me know.
FYI, we are on SRM 5.5.

We have southands of exoerienced ABAP developers, ECC consultants in China , and more learning it in the University.
But we have much fewer good SRM consultant with ABAP programing experience .
Being a senior consultant needs time ,cooking either . But we would perfer delicate fine dining .

Questions about SRM PO in Classic scenario

I have a number of questions about the SRM PO in classic scenario.
1) If the Backend PO is changed in ECC i.e. if any quantity is added , can we have an approval workflow
for the same?
We currently have release strategies for other PO's in ECC. How do we accommodate the PO changes only?
Our requirement is not have an approval initially once the PO is created, but only for the changes
2) If the PO is sent as XML to the Vendor, is it possible to capture the PO response in ECC? What are the Pre-requisites
for this to happen. Should SAP XI be required for this?
3) In case the PO is cancelled/ reduced , does the Balance goes back to SRM sourcing cockpit?
We are using SRM 7.0

Sol: In ECC6.0 if the P.O is changed and release strategy is there in ECC6.0 then it follows the ECC6.0 Approval Route.

Once P.O is created in ECC 6.0 for the P.R in Sourcing Cockpit, cancelling/reduction will not have a updation in the sourcing cockpit in SRM.
Eg 100 nos P.R is in SRM sourcing cockpit for which you have createdaa P.O for 40 nos is ECC6.0
for the remaining 60 nos PR ,you can create a P.O in ECC6.0

This will be automatically taken care if you have maintained the load type as Delta download in CRMRFCPAR middleware table in R/3 or ECC system.

Issue while replicating materials into SRM

Hi Experts,
We are using SRM 5.0 Extended Classic Scenario. I was able to replicate material groups successfully but when i try to replicate Materials, the Queue ends up in a SYS_FAIL error. i tried deleting all the previous queues and tried many ways but still not able to understand what is going wrong. I checked the SMW01 for any error BDOC messages but i cant find anything.
Any suggestions or thoughts as to what i need to check ? Will award points .

How to avoid material master data migration of inactive materials to SRM

We are replicating material master from R3 4.6b to SRM 5.0 system. Under COMMPR01 , we can see the product status as deleted or locked .
How we can avoid the master data replication of materials which are already flagged as inactive (deletion) in R3.
Pls suggest.

Please try this ->
1) It is possible to use product_id without needing to replicate material masters from R/3 to SRM. For this to work you have to set the flag "Do not check product" in customizing
(see SRM Server > Master Data > Define External Web Services).
We do it like that and it works perfect for us. Only annoyance is, that we have to put leading zeroes in the product_id field.
"Do not check product" is used to avoid product check in SRM (to avoid replicating products into SRM), so they are not checked against SRM product master.
But this is not related to R/3 check.
In a classic or extended classic scenario, SRM will check that this material exists in the backend, especially for the current plant (location), before creating follow on doc.
As you created your catalog item without zeros, I guess SRM is sending this material to R/3 that does not recognize it.
Then you have this error message. Adapt your product IDs to be aligned with R/3 material master.
2) Try to run the report BBP_PRODUCT_SETTINGS_MW, there you select user as SRM instead of CRM and select service product active
3) Did you already checked OSS note 722600 and 366135 ? Also, Check the SAP OSS Notes - 786345, OSS Note 456753. It talks abt the internal and external representation of product ID in catalog and R3 system.
