Max Number of Applications in a Appset

Hi,
What is the maximum number of applications we can have in a Appset.
Also What is the optimal number of applications we can have.
Thanks in Advance,
Regards,
G.Vijaya Kumar

Hi Vijaya,
Actually, there is no limit of having multiple applications in an appset, neither there is any optimal value for that. It all depends on the size of your database. More the number of applications, you have, more the space required by your database. So, till the time your database is able to support that, its fine.
May be some experts can go deeper into this.
Hope this helps.

  • Number of Application in 1 Appset in Sap BOPC 7.5 MS version

    Hi guru,
i'm working with sap bopc 7.5 ms
does anyone knows how many Applications we can create in 1 Appset?
    Is there a limit?
    thanks in advance

    Hello Antonello,
in the BPC 7.5 documentation is not indicated any limits for the numbers of cube present in an appset.
The only thing you must pay attention is the number of dimension in a cube, the number of the parenth you create for a dimension, and to optimize and compress the cube regularly for a better performance.

  • Maximum number of applications per application set

    Hello,
I know maximum number of dimensions per application is 20 in OutlookSoft 4.2.
What about maximum number of applications per application set?
    Regards,
    Hiroshi Yaji

Hiroshi - I have not encountered a technical limit on the number of applications in an appset.  As a practical reality, performance and system administration will dictate how many apps an appset may contain.
On a related note, you could theoretically have more than 20 dimensions in an app.  However, I have only worked with one client who asked (needed?) an app with more than 12 dimensions.  In that case, usability was an issue due to the complexity in submitting data to an app with that many dimensions.
    Hope that helps,
    Jeff

  • "max number of thread"

We are running a java web app on a Ubuntu Oracle WebLogic server version 10.3.3.
The java web app performs long polls with open tcp socket to keep the client connection open. The clients are long polling the WebLogic at 30 seconds.
Currently we are not able to maintain stability for greater than 24 hours with approximately 200 simultaneous sessions on WebLogic server. Session to me is active client/server tcp connection. We have re-written our application to use continuations, but we are seeing ConcurrentModificationException errors in performance testing.
Is there any setting in WebLogic for “max number of thread” that can handle?
    Edited by: user9316392 on Jul 8, 2010 11:07 AM

First, WebLogic since 9.0 has a self-tuning thread pool where WLS will automatically grow and shrink the number of threads based on some internal algorithms. I'm not aware of a hard limit so theoretically there is no max thread count as long as the JVM has memory and WLS thinks more threads will help. You can read up on it here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/dev2arch/2006/01/workload-management.html
Practically, I wouldn't expect more than several hundred threads to be helpful.
As for your situation, how does WLS become unstable? Out of memory, out of file descriptors, errors on new requests, etc. I think you're going to have to use some JVM tools to see what happens to your JVM over time. Is there a memory leak somewhere, is it non-heap memory, etc. JRockit Mission Control is helpful if running on JRockit. If you're on Sun Hotspot, them presumably you can use some of the Hotspot tools. You'll want to compare the state of the JVM towards the beginning of your load test, but after a slight warm-up period with a snapshot after the load test has been running for a long period of time.

  • Max number of buffers

For fast image grabbing I wand to store images in the memory of the PC. To do this I use LL ring buffering. The max number of buffers is limited by Labview to 50. I tried to increase this by MAX >>Tools >> IMAQ (like suggested on the site) but Labview keeps setting it back to 50, also after rebooting. How can I get this to a higher value?

    Hi,
Take a look at this document:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/FCA602CDBC4EDCEA86256BB1005AB1F2?OpenDocument
This limit is no longer a issue in NI-IMAQ 3.0.1, (except for the NI-1408)

  • Max number of items exceeded?

I am trying to develop a questionaire like application. Most of the logic is stored inside pl/sql functions (that is retrieving the previous or next question with possible answers and answer-types, like, eg. radiogroup, select-list, textarea, ...) while all of the questions and respective possible answers are kept inside a collection. In processing the answers after submit I store given answers inside the same collection, basically by nullifying all possibly previously given answers for the current question and then looping through eg, g_f01.count to refill. The entire application remains on the same page, showing eg., in one 'frame', one or two questions with say 7 checkboxes and two textareas.
Everything seems to work fine, I can go forward and backward and will find new questions or ones that already have been answerd, but!!...
after the 50st item (answer), that is after I reached the 50st radiogroup, checkbox or textarea, new checkboxes or radiogroups even though shown the resulting values will not be stored inside the collection anymore.
    generating the page i use:
    htp.prn(apex_item.radiogroup(p_idx => 1, p_value => c2.a_id, p_selected_value => c2.qa_id, p_attributes => 'id="P2_QUEST_' || i || '"'));
    and in processing correspondingly ...
    FOR i IN 1 .. apex_application.g_f01.COUNT
    LOOP
    FOR c2 IN
    (SELECT seq_id,
    c001 q_id,
    c002 a_id,
    c012 qa_id
    FROM apex_collections
    WHERE c001 = to_char(p_q_id)
    AND collection_name = 'ANSWERS'
    AND c002 = apex_application.g_f01(i))
    LOOP
    apex_collection.update_member_attribute(p_collection_name =>
    'ANSWERS', p_seq => c2.seq_id, p_attr_number => '12',
    p_attr_value => c2.a_id);
    END LOOP;
    END LOOP;
to me I only use f01 ... f04 say, ... Is it possible that I still hit the max of 50 page-items?

  • Max number of columns in a Webi report

In a worst-case scenario test, I requested about 1700 columns in a Webi report, but only a little more than 300 appeared in the SQL; a TOAD request for the same 1700 columns was successful. Is there an upper limit for the number of objects that can appear in a Webi report? Is there a parameter that could increase the limit?

My eyes read the first half and my brian assumed the second half.
I dont think there is a limitaion on the number of objects that a WebI report can pull.
The only limitation I know of is the maximum number of column that you can display in the report panel; the max number is 100,000.
With the limit on the max number of column diplay in a WebI report can be translated into the max number of columns in the query panel.

Could any one tell me the exact limit of IN Clause in 10g.1000 items such as IN (1, 2, 3, ..., 1000)
No limit on the number of sets: IN ((1), (2), (3), ...) *<=== NOT QUITE!* See below
No limit in sub-queries: IN (SELECT ...)
Edited by: Frank Kulash on Jun 3, 2009 9:43 AM
The limit of 1000 applies to sets of single items: (x) IN ((1), (2), (3), ...)
There is no limit if the sets contain two or more items: (x, 0) IN ((1,0), (2,0), (3,0), ...)
Thanks to Michaels for pointing this out.

  • Planning Layout error K9162 - max number of columns in planning layout rest

    Hello collegues,
our client would like to have 34 columns in planning layout costs activity inputs of TA KP67. But error message K9162 - max. number of columns is restricted to 30. So I tried to switch of the message with TA OBA5 application area K9 - msg number 162. But this does not work as the error comes up again even though the message is switched off.
    Do you have some ideas?
    Thanks and regards,
    Christian

    Hello,
thanks for your response. I have maintaine in OBMSG:
    K9     162     WE     E    switch off selected
then in OBA5 for dialog and batch I have maintained  -
but the error is upcoming again. So I think that this sort of message cannot be switched off as the planning layout is restricted to 30 columns by design maybe?

  • Max number of concurrent users?

I'm in the process of creating a web site with Cold Fusion and
Oracle. One concern involves the lack of web hosting services
that run Oracle on their servers. So, to get around this
problem, I was considering replicating an Oracle lite database
and putting it on an ISP's server. My thinking is that there
would be little need of DBA functions and I can run it on any
    server I choose. But ....
    1. Would Oracle 8i lite support a lot of concurrent users?
    2. What other factors would I have to consider if I set it up
    as a distributed DB ?
Any help on these thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

  • DataSource max number of open connections

We are using Oracle 9i AS.
We are using the pre installed emulated data source.
We have specified 30 and 100 as the min and max number of open connections.
We are using BC4J application modules in my application . For each application module we have specified the JDBC data source, so the default connection pooling at the Application Module level is disabled, via doConnectonPooling = true.
    The question :
    1. When i go into the OC4J Home screen and monitor the Open JDBC connections, why is the number more than the max that i have specified ? My data source is being used , because my app is up and running.
    thx.

Chints -- There were a few cases that where max connections was not honored prior to the Oracle9ias v903 release. These issues should be fixed in the Oracle9iAS v903 production release.
Thanks -- Jeff Would there be any difference if we were to use a non Emulated data source..we are using Oracle 9i on the back end
    thx!!

  • Limitation on the number of applications for a domain?

    Rob,
I deployed 291 EJBs into the applications directory for a weblogicdomain, since
each jars stands on its own, so weblogic treats them as individualapplications.
Interesting. Is that really how you want to structure your server?
The behaviour I ran into was weblogic server was not able to startcorrectly,
it seems to stuck on some infinite loop, keep printing out the samemessage saying
it's trying to active xxx.jar, but as soon as I reduce the number ofEJBs to a
certain number(238) in this directory, weblogic server started correctly, deployed
xxx.jar just fine.Without more information (like showing me what error it printed out),
    I
can't tell you where the problem lies.
However, the server is limited by the heap size, and the class size
space is another limit you might hit.
I would suggest increasing the heap size as well as the MaxPermSize in
    your JVM.

is there a max number of names that can be put into Contacts and still have the app work well?

Yes, there is. It's how many contacts your hard drive can take. So you can fill up the entire computer with nothing but contacts until your HDD/Flash has no space left. So if you have 250GB, it'd be less than if you had 500GB and you'd have more on 750GB.

Hi, what is the max number of characteristics can be used in process message category's MSEL table? Right now, I am using more than 99 characteristics and I get a short dump DYNPRO_FIELD_CONVERSION. Is it really limited to 99 characteristics and if it is true, is there an OSS note to change it to allow more than 99?
    Thanks and points available

Please make sure that you build a
multithreaded program first (check with ldd).
If anyone can tell me the maximum number of threads per process I would
    really appreicate it.
Also the maximum number of open files per process. It depends on the architecture (x86/SPARC), OS version,
    64 or 32-bit, /etc/system, shell limitations (/usr/bin/ulimit) ...
    Search for "rlim_fd_max / rlim_fd_cur" on docs.sun.com too.
