Maximum number of documents knowledge directory can handle
Hi,
I am wondering, what could be the maximum number of documents knowledge directory can handle in terms of indexing and search in WCI 10.0.3 release.
I tried to google and also browsed oracle documentation but didn’t get any clue about the number of taxonomy documents it can handle.
We have to develop a portlet which can perform a customized search (based on custom properties) on a taxonomy folder which would contain almost 2, 00, 000 documents.
Would it be possible in term of performance to manage this number of documents in WCI?
Regards,
Based on the wording of your post, I assume some degree of familiarity with WCI. Now, there are quite a few variables besides the raw number of documents when it comes to acceptable indexing and search performance. Your best options are: try it, or (if you have a support contract) go through support to get a good answer based on your intended production environment.

Maximum Number Of Records Import Manager can handle.
Hi Guys,
I want to know the maximum number of records Import Manager can import / handle at a time.
Thanks in advance .
Best Regards,
Ramchandra Kalkar.Amol,
The reference guide lists the limit at 50,000 records.
My experience is that this is not necessarily the case. To me it seems as though the maximum import depends somewhat on the number of fields you are trying to import. Meaning you can probably import 50,000 records if the file only contains two columns/fields, but if the file contains many columns/fields you probably will encounter difficulty trying to import 50,000 records at a time. -
Maximum number of connections that database can make
Dear All,
I have a problem regarding maximum number of database connections that can be handled .
Theoretically i am aware that the number of sessions we set in init ora settings tells me the maximum
connections that can be opened.but this number will be also be dependent on the capability of the OS to handle the sessions.
is there any way i can analyse the number of possible connections possible if I have the OS memory and CPU parameters with me

This is from expert oracle database architecture by tom kytes and I personally ran some queries to confirm that.

What's the maximum number of Apple TVs that can be displayed in the AirPlay list?
We have 50 conference rooms all on the same network and are considering equiping each one with an Apple TV for AirPlay Mirroring our iPad 2s to the rooms projector, or TV. What is the maximum number of Apple TVs that can be displayed in the AirPlay menu to select the correct Apple TV for the conference room being used?
From what you're saying it sounds as though you wouldn't want to Airplay to all AppleTVs at once, just identify them when that specific room in use?
This is one of those uncharted territories wheer most domestic users will not require such a set up - Apple provide no official info about this, but they'd be your best source to ask.

What is the maximum size a sender SOAP adapter can handle?
Hi,
I am using sender SOAP adapter and receiver RFC adapter.
What is the maximum size of request message it can handle efficiently.
In the current scenario which I need to design , the request XML file could be up to 24 MB.
Also if you could comment on which would be the best to use as the sender side - SOAP or File Adapter
when the request message/file is of such size?
regards
Arun Ghi,
>What is the maximum size of request message it can handle efficiently.
it totally depends on your hardware and flow design inside XI/PI
>In the current scenario which I need to design , the request XML file could be up to 24 MB.
this size is not a lot for a "normal" XI machine but it also depends on the
volume of those messages - that is if you need to send
one message like that per day or 1000 per half an hour...
>Also if you could comment on which would be the best to use as the sender side - SOAP or File Adapter
when the request message/file is of such size?
SAP's general recommendation is to use messages around 5mb
but it heavily depends on other factors so don't threat it as a must

Maximum number of documents in a container
Hi,
I read the guide "Getting Started with Berkeley DB XML for Java" and understand that by using the XmlDocumentConfig.setGenerateName(true), BDBXML generates a unique name for each document that is stored: myDocName_a where a is the unique value.
I have two questions regarding this:
1) What is the maximum number that can be stored in the container before there is an error? E.g myDocName_xxxxxxxx. what is the maximum xxxxxxxx value?
2) Lets say, we delete two documents, myDocName_1 & myDocName_2. Will BDBXML generate this two document names again if we store another 2 new documents?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
KhewHi,
1) The citation from DB XML FAQ:
Number of Documents in a Container:
Internal document IDs are 64-bit integers, and must be unique within a container, which limits the number of documents in a container. 2) No, it won't. At least I got such results in DB XML 2.4.16. So if you had document dbxml_1, dbxml_2, dbxml_3 and then deleted let's say dbxml_1 and dbxml_3, then the next generated name would be dbxml_4 nonetheless. Anybody, correct me if I'm wrong.

What is the maximum number of physical link we can bind to a ether-channel and port-channel
Hi,
I was studying about port-channel & ether-channel and found that, it can be bind up-to 8 ports. So maximum number, we can have of 8 ports or more ?
For binding we should have minimum of 2 ports or 1 ports will work ? For load-balancing purpose, is the port no. would be in a bundle of 2,4 and 8 ?
ThanksHi Kathik,
I have gone through one document. It's saying the below mentioned things :

Re: What is the maximum number of etherchannels we can have?
The maximum number of Etherchannels varies from platform to platform. The maximum number of ports in an etherchannel is either 8 ro 16 depending on the platform. The minimum number of ports in an etherchannel bundle is 1.

Re: What is the maximum number of etherchannels we can have?
Etherchannels is a Cisco term. Other vendors call them 802.3ad trunks. It's common to see something like this in datasheets:
48 ports 10/100/1000 Mbit/s
802.3ad:
Maximum of 32 groups
Maximum of 8 ports per group

1 For the 3550 series switch, when source-MAC address forwarding is used, load distribution based on the source and destination IP address is also enabled for routed IP traffic. All routed IP traffic chooses a port based on the source and destination IP address.
2 For the 6500 series switches that run Cisco IOS, MPLS layer 2 information can also be used for load balancing MPLS packets.

Limit on Number of Documents Cloud Reader can use?
Hi, I am a new user of IPad. I am using the Cloudreaders app to view my pdf documents. I have 340 documents that I would like to have access to on my ipad. However when I use itunes to copy them over they appear on my itunes window as available but do not appear on the ipad it usually stops about at about 120. I have 12mb of memory available on my ipad so it does not seem to be a storage issue. Can someone tell me if there is a limit on the number of documents within Cloudreaders? If so can I amend or change the number allowed. Or is there a better app I can use?
Thank you
JuliaNot that I have ever found. And at one time I had over 60 Profiles, but after I hit 20 Profiles listed in the profiles.ini file the launch time for Firefox became noticeably longer on WinXP. With remote Profiles, not listed in the profiles.ini file and launched strictly from command line there was no impact on launch time.
How or if that relates to Mac OSX is beyond my knowledge, never owned used a Mac. -
Is there a maximum number of plugins that LR5 can manage?
Does anyone know if LR5 has a maximum number of plugins it can manage.
I am using Portrait Pro and the Nik suite out of that mix one always gets bumped from the list when used. Thanks for taking your time with this beyond the esential question.
I did mean preferences.
The buggy software seems to be Portrait Pro or one of Nik programs.
To use Portrait Pro I select it by:
LR>Preferences>external editor>choose>”PortraitProfessionalStudio.app"
If I start by using Portrait Pro on a photo I follow:
Edit in>Portrait Pro
Up until this point everything works fine. No worries.
However, as soon as I use one of the Nik software programs, Portrait Pro is removed from as the external editor and replaced by the which ever Nik program I use.
This phenomena does not happen any other plug in except for the Nik suite.
So, either Nik somehow removes Portrait Pro or Portrait Pro has something within it’s coding that allows it to be removed as the external editor and no longer viable unless I go back to Preferences and repeat the steps:
LR>Preferences>external editor>choose>”PortraitProfessionalStudio.app”
Of course, Nik says it is a flaw with Portrait Pro and Portrait Pro says it is a flaw with Nik (shocker), but such is life -

Maximum number of CAT3560's that can be connected
What is the maximum number of Cat 3560 switches that can be connected together. Using all Fiber ports the max number would be 5, does this series of switch have a design limitation on how many can be connected together?
you could theoretically connect a switch to every port of the 3560.
this may not be best design for STP and broadcast domain purposes but would be possible. (depending on what you're trying to accomplish)
do you mean how many max daisy-chained one after the other?? -
Maximum number of processes a user can run
Is there a parameter that defines the maximum number of processes that a user can run?
hi,
there are no maximum process per user. There is maximum session per user, by default, it is 6. But you can change it. But usually, SAP Go Live Check would suggest you to reduce it to 2 or 3.

Maximum Number of Columns a ResultSet can support
Hi,
Can someone tell me what the maximum number of columns a result set can support? I'm using a cachedrowset to retrieve about 50 columns from a table and it seems to stop collecting columns after 33.
Is there a way to work around this?
ThanksCan someone tell me what the maximum number of
columns a result set can support? I'm using a
cachedrowset to retrieve about 50 columns from a
table and it seems to stop collecting columns after
33.
33 is a suspiciously low number.
Why do you think it 'stopped'? Explain exactly how you determined this.
What are the data types of fields 30-34?
Why do you think that the java program is actually getting 50 columns?
Finally in general everything in a computer is limited. However 33/50 would be significantly below normal limits for most resources. -
What is the maximum number of files that Finder can display in a directory?
When displaying systems in an Active Directory domain, Finder only displays some of the systems.
I presume that Finder is treating the list of SMB/CIFS systems as if they were entries in a file directory. The number of systems that should appear in the list is around 10,000 but only about half of these are displayed in Finder.
Is there a way to increase the number of systems displayed in Finder?Yes, I am working with a Windows Active Directory domain.
When using Finder>Network> to display systems in an Active Directory domain, it fails to display all of the systems. Is there a Finder limitation that causes this?
When the system was originally brought online, only the local systems that were members of the Active Directory domain were displayed. Over time, the number of systems that have been "discovered" has increased. The entries are maintained in ascending alphabetical order. Currently, only systems with names beginnig with A through M are listed.
This creates a bit of a problem for our Technical Publications group as all of the systems in our facility start with the letter T.
Does Finder have a limit on how many entries that it can display for a given directory?
Is the list of Active Directory systems being maintained in memory and, hence, limited by memory resources?
Is there a way to filter the list?
