  • Maximum number of rows export to excel from WebI

    Hello,
    I have a WebI Report in BO 4 SP6 which has 14 columns and 80,000 rows. I opened the report in WebI (Internet explorer) and clicked on the export icon but nothing happened. this report was being run for a month 201301.
    So I modified the same report with 1 week's data which is 4500 rows and when I exported it to excel 2007 and it worked.
    My questions are:
    1- how do I export 80,000 rows of data to excel?
    2- what servers/services are responsible for exporting data to excel?
    3- any other opinions that you can share which might help me.
    PS: I have not test this in rich client since rich client is not being used by users, Users only use WebI.
    Regards,
    samique

    After you click on export to excel. wait for some time for the pop up to come up.... Even after some time  if it doesn't come up and throw a timeout error "Missing sEntry parameter", then you can try by increasing the time limit. But I won't recommend this since, this is happening due to huge volume of data.
    Below thread might help you
    Error when exporting WebI to PDF
    If you export it using rich client, you can clearly see that the file size is too large.. It was 45 MB in my case. So I requested my user to put some filters and then do an export to excel.

  • Filters and Export to Excel (BI 7 report in portal)

    Hi all
    We are seeing some interesting behaviour with the data being exported to excel.
    The steps to create the problem are -
    - run report
    - filter to limit the data,
    - "export to excel"
    When checking data in excel - the full set of data (that is, prior to the filter being applied) has been transfered.
    Could someone please confirm the following -
    1. is this expected behaviour ?
    2. are there any configuration items that need to be done to export only the filtered data as seen on the current report on the screen ?
    3. any other suggestions ?!
    I look forward to hearing from you.
    Kindest regards
    Karen

    with your product version there are little options you have.
    1. Upgrade to the latest SP and patch on XIR2 (SP6, fp6.4) and re-test
    2. Upgrade to current product release.
    3. figure out what has changed and how in the report and reverse those changes.

  • Export in excel without displaying all rows

    Hello,
    I use OBIEE version 10.1.3.4.1.
    I have a report in "table view" with thousands of rows.
    I would like to export a report to Excel, without displaying the data. Is possible to set the execution as an export in Excel?
    Alternatively I enabled the "Page Control" by 50 "row per page." Is possible to export to excel all the row of the report without to see them all?
    Thanks
    Sara

    Hi Sara,
    you have 2 options:
    1. use ibots to deliver your report in the form of an excel. This would avoid the generation of report.
    2. Use "download to excel" option. This option downloads the entire content and NOT the ones displayed on the screen.
    Hope this helps.

  • Export in Excel- always first row blank

    hi,
    if i export in excel file always i am getting first row as blank with line. how can i eliminate this row.

    Hi Kayadhu,
    Generally, if we design a report and the top of report body remain extra blank space, it will result in the extra blank row after export the report to Excel. Please see the screenshot below:
    In your case, please try to reduce the blank space in the report body. If the issue still persists, please post more information about your report design structure to us.

  • Export to Excel - Problem with extra rows

    Hi have a report that has 3 groups. I suppress the group headers and am using the group footers for totals.
    When I export to excel, I get extra rows in the excel file for the suppressed sections. How can I get rid of these?
    Thanks,
    Linda

    I can use this to get out additional rows on my excel export. However, in the columns, I usually put some distance between each column so the columns won't run together. This is giving me extra columns. It would be much easier if I did not have to put that distance. Is there a way to format the field to have a leading or trailing space so all the fields don't run together on the report?
    example:
    field1
    field2
    field 3
    if all these fields have data the output would look like:
    field1datafield2datafield3data
    how can I make it look like:
    field1data field2data field3data

  • Export to Excel: Row Auto Height Removed on Data Connection Refresh

    Hi all,
    When I perform a Data Connection Refresh on an Excel workbook exported from SharePoint it removes the row auto height I had in place, hiding valuable information. This is an additional column I added to perform some calculations.
    Any ideas?
    K.
    Personal Blog: http://thebitsthatbyte.com

    Hi Kelly,
    As I understand, you have a SharePoint list and click export to Excel under List tab. Then the list is exported to Excel spreadsheet.
    Generally speaking, all field column width and height keep in the same size when the list is exported to Excel. In Excel, under PAGE LAYOUT tab > Scale to Fit, make Width and Height to be Automatic and Scale to 100%.
    Then the cell should be good. If there is some column still exceed the width of Excel cell, please right click the cell > Format cells > Alignment > Text control, click Wrap text to increase the cell size to fit the text, or click Shrink to fit
    to shrink the text.

  • Export to Excel with colored row

    Hi,
    I'm developing a alv report in web dynpro. The first  requirement is to put traffic lights based on some criteria. This part has been done.
    2nd requirement is to export this alv report into excel sheet. If traffic light of the row is 'RED' then in excel sheet it will be colored 'RED', if row is green excel sheet row will be 'GREEN' etc.
    Thanks in advance for providing  me solution of above problem  I'm new to dynpro.
    Thanks in advance,
    Abhijit.

    Hi ,
        If you need cell formatting you must use the Excel XML format. Build a spreadsheet with the features you want and then choose save as XML from within Excel. Then look at the resulting file with a text editor to see how the XML format is built. This is what you need to duplicate in ABAP using Concatenations, the iXML library or XSLTs.
       OR you can go through this link and check if it can help you:

  • Limit report from being exported to excel

    We have a report that we do not want to be able to be exported to excel. Is there a way, just on one report to limit the types it is exported toDBA

    Hi DBAMT,
    As Pete mentioned, by default, we can only disable Excel Render Extension for the server.
    However, a possible workaround to disable Excel Render Extension for a simply report is using JavaScript to remove the Excel option from the export formats list.
    Please follow these steps to do so:
    1.       Go to the physical folder of the Report Manager.
    By default, the folder is:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager
    2.       Please open the folder “Pages”
    3.       Open the file “Report.aspx” with notepad.
    4.       Embed the following JavaScript at the end of the file.
    <script language = "Javascript">
    //javascript: get parameter from URL
    function getParameter(paraStr, url)
    var result = "";
    //get all parameters from the URL
    var str = "&" + url.split("?")[1];
    var paraName = paraStr + "=";
    //check if the required parameter exist
    if(str.indexOf("&"+paraName)!=-1)
    //if "&" is at the end of the required parameter
    if(str.substring(str.indexOf(paraName),str.length).indexOf("&")!=-1)
    //get the end string
    var TmpStr=str.substring(str.indexOf(paraName),str.length);
    //get the value.
    result=unescape(TmpStr.substr(TmpStr.indexOf(paraName) + paraName.length,TmpStr.indexOf("&")-TmpStr.indexOf(paraName) -
    paraName.length));
    else
    result=unescape(str.substring(str.indexOf(paraName) + paraName.length,str.length));
    else
    result="Null";
    return (result.replace("&",""));
    var timer2;
    var dueTime2=0
    function RemoveCTLExportFormats(format)
    dueTime2 += 50;
    if(dueTime2 > 30000)
    clearTimeout(timer2);
    return;
    var obj=document.getElementsByTagName("Select");
    for(var i=0;i<obj.length;i++)
    if (obj[i].title == "Export Formats")
    var k = -1;
    for(var j = 0; j < obj[i].length; j ++)
    if(obj[i].options[j].value.toLowerCase() == format.toLowerCase())
    k = j;
    obj[i].options.remove(k);
    clearTimeout(timer2);
    return;
    timer2=setTimeout("RemoveCTLExportFormats('" + format + "')",50);
    function RemoveOption(report, format)
    if(getParameter("ItemPath", location.href).toLowerCase() == report.toLowerCase())
    timer2=setTimeout("RemoveCTLExportFormats('" + format + "')",50);
    else
    return;
    RemoveOption("/ReportSamples/10000rows", "Excel");
    </script>
    To enable the function, please pass in the “report path”, and the format in the method RemoveOption.
    Sample: RemoveOption("/ReportSamples/report1", "Excel");
    Please feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

  • Underlay row not exported to excel to a single row

    Happy New Year to all,
    I have an underlay function in Details a section.  I also have Details b thru Details z sections.  When using the underlay feature in Details a, it lines up beautifully with Details b row.  However, when I export to excel data only, Details a appears on its own row above Details b.  What can I do to have the underlay row, Details a export alongside Details b in the same row?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Zack H.

    Hi zack
    Iam not giving yout he straight forward solution. but here are my inputs,
    1. please check exportingto PDF? if it is fine, then we have to align the report in such a way that export to excel will bring desired result. ioe we have to design, Keeping the result in mind.
    Because, the technique used to export to oexcel is line by line scanning method here as to PDF it is snap shot kind of.
    Best regards

  • Export to Excel will not produce more than 2000 rows

    I am trying to export a sharepoint list to excel that has around 8000 items in it, however when it does...i'm only able to see 2000 entries and the other 6000 are missing.
    I'm working with SharePoint 2013 Enterprise and Excel 2013.
    Would anyone have some help to offer me on why this is no producting all of the entries in the list?

    Hi Jacob,
    According to your description, my understanding is that only 2000 items can be exported to excel in SharePoint list.
    I recommend to check if there are any indexed columns(which are enforced to have unique values) in the list.
    If yes, please remove the indexes from the columns in the list to see if the issue still occurs.
    For test, please export another large list to see if the issue still occurs.
    Thanks,

  • Export to Excel Action in MS SSRS Report not exporting all data in Report

    Hi,
    I have developed a complex Report that has many expandable nodes in a table format. The report works fine.
    However, when I export the Report to Excel using Actions --> export to Excel, only the data in expanded nodes is included. The data in collapsed nodes is not included.
    I am looking for approach to include data in expanded nodes in Excel Export. The expanded data can be expanded in Excel.
    Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

    Hi Abhijit PS,
    Per my understanding you are experiencing the issue with the excel report which have add the drill down action, after export to excel only the expanded nodes included and the collapsed nodes is not shown, right?
    Generally, if we expand the nodes before export to excel then the excel will display the expanded details row and keep collapsed the details row which haven't expand, but we have the toggle "+","-" on the left of the Excel to help
    control the expand and collapse, when you click the "+" you can expand the collapsed notes to see the details rows.
    I have tested on my local environment with different version of SSRS and can always see the "+","-" as below:
    On the Top left corner you can find the "1","2", this help to control the "Collapse All" and "Expand All".
    If you can't see the "+","-" in the excel, the issue can be caused by the Excel version you are currently using, and also excel have limit support of this, please provide us the Excel version information and the SSRS version. You
    can reference to this similar thread:
    lost collapsing columns when export to excel
    Please try to export other drill down report to excel and check if they work fine, if they did, the issue can be caused by the drill down action you have added in this report is not correctly, if possible, please try to redesign the report.
    Article below about how to add  Expand/Collapse Action to an Item for your reference:

  • Best way to create dataset to be exported in Excel for further elaboration

    Hello experts!
    I need help with some of my custormers, that perform their work in a way that I partially disagree.  They work in BOXI R3.1 SP3.
    They use webi on top of relational universes (DWH layer in Oracle DB).
    We created reports in webi that cover their standard analysis, but for their spot analysis they find difficult to work in webi.
    I think that it partially depends on lack of known of the tool (even if they have been trained).
    Anyway they need a solution to this issue:
    they wont create in webi a basic set of information inserting reclassifications of information and some calculation in webi. Then they need to export information in excel to do their on spot calculations. Those dataset are often big, so they find following issues:
    1)they tried to use Live Office to import the table they need but the limit of the datastream size is reached quickly (currently limit is 50Mb in our settings , but is reached even from report that exported with Save to my computer As Excel are not more than 10Mb ). I discussed with B.O. administrator and increasing much more this treashold affects general  performances of other services.
    2)Exporting in excel with Save As is quite cumbersome and they can't use .xlsx format as it is only supported by BI4.0 .So they get tables with more than 64K rows splitted over many sheets.
    3)They also tried to export in CSV format to eventually further elaborate in Access, but .CSV only retrieve the information of the Microcube extracted by the query, not the data elaborated in the report.
    Anyone can suggest further ways to behave?
    Kind regards.
    Roberto.

    there are 3 options I see :
    1. Learn to use webi, it can do everything excel can and more
    2. I question ability of anyone to deal with that much data in excel, you should agregate data on DB side and push most of calculations there. Then your exports will be much smaller.
    Better designed semantic layer will allow your users to get needed data quicker and in less volume, making their work in webi or in excel easier.
    3. Use DF/DI products as ETL tools into your Excel users.

  • ALV Export to Excel

    Does anyone know the row/column limit on exporting an ALV grid to Excel?  I am getting a message that "list object is too large to be exported".

    Hi Janet,
    Please find the following SAP Note 700206.
    Symptom
    Excel export gives error "List object is too large to be exported" when a large list object is exported. This message comes only on usage of function module XXL_FULL_API for Export to Excel functionality.
    Other terms
    Excel Export, XXL Export, i_oi_spreadsheet, Size Limit,
    Reason and Prerequisites
    Older technology used and old MS Office release has limitaion of exporting only 16384 lines of data. This change is valid only for the SAP R3 release higher than 4.6C and MS Office release higher than Office 97.
    On The pop-up dialog "Export list object to XXL" with three options
    "Excel SAP macros", "Table" and "Pivot table", this change is valid only
    for "Table" and "Pivot table" option and not for "Excel SAP macros".
    Choice of "Excel SAP macros" option is not linked with this change for any R3 relaese.
    This correction is done in function module XXL_FULL_API and is only valid when XXL_FULL_API is called for Exporting the list to Excel.
    Solution
    Increased the Max Size Limit to 65536 rows and 256 columns. For Table and Pivot Table option of Excel Export. This change is available for office integration technology only and no adaption is possible to old SAP
    Macros. Import the relevant ABAP patch.
    NOTE: If you Export a Large list object there could be a performance problem and the same will be dirctly proportional to the amount of DATA (size of list object) Exported. The Maximum limits with XXL Export: Number of Rows - 65536. Number of Columns - 256. Size of individual cell - 255 Characters.
    Hope this will help.
    Regards,
    Ferry Lianto
