ISSUE IS I WANT TO INCREASE SELECTION CRITERIA FOR FOR MB5L THEY ARE
BATCH AND MVT TYPE FUNCTIONALLY COLLECT ALL INFORMATION AND GIVE TO ABAP ,

The report List of stock values: Balance display is used to display the total quantity and value of the stock of one or more materials at plant and storage location level.
this report gives u balances from GL accounts so having movement type in selection make no use
now if u need any modification then go for customized report
if u need values with movement type then u can use MB51
or also try MC48

Difference between MBBS and MB5L report.
All capital inventory till FY-2008-09 was transferred to revenue inventory by movemnt typr 411-Q in MB1B.All the codes those were transferrd are now appearing in MBBS but with zero value. However these codes are appearing in MB5L with value under GL 132006 (for capital items) and having value of 1.08 crores (0.94 crore for imported items and 0.14 crore for revenue items). The GL for all these codes neds to be changed to 132000 (revenue inventory GL) so that in MB5L also these items appear as revenue items.As of today GL of all the codes appearing under GL 132006 are to be changed to 132000 except code 496700086.
now, changes are reflected in report MBBS but not showing correct information in MB5L report..
Please guide what is the difference between MBBS and MB5L report.

MBBS gives stock values of "project'" and "sales order" only.
MB5L gives total stock value . -
Stock account currency field in MB5L report
Hi!
can any one tell me in MB5L report for field materials currency and stock account currency, from system will pick up the values?
I think materials currency field will pick up from GL accounts?
But stock account currency, from where it will pick up value?

both are not GL account balances.
I have studied the report and understood.
the material currency field: just it will take total stock avialable * std price/MAV price ( it will be equal to value in material master, MB5B, MB51 )
the stock account currency field: it will take GL account balance via valuation class ( OBYC setting BSX)
Here for example if you select only one material in MB5L report , it won't show the GL balance pertaining to that material, it will simply show the total GL balances that means system won't check material number existed in line items ( BSEG table).

Dear All,
I have generated MB5L - List of Stock Value Balances, I have observed there is a difference in between Material Currency & Stock Account Currency. The same is appearing under Variance Currency.
We are not using neither split valuation nor having different currencies.
Please help me by explaining the logic of this report

This report as compares the stock values from MM & FI posting angle and for the following reason variance is observed.
1.In a production environment when posting continues to happen the results shown will be inconsistent.If the report is run several times you may be able to compare .
2.If stock account postings have been done manually instead of automatic postings.
3.The stock account includes not only stock postings, but also other postings. In this case, you should check the account determination in the Customizing for Valuation and Account Assignment. Make sure that the stock accounts are used solely for the transaction key BSX (stock postings).
4.The account assignment for the stock accounts (transaction key BSX) was changed during productive operation; the respective stocks, however, were not deducted from the old account (movement type 562) and posted to the new one (movement type 561).
5.If any materials are blocked when running the report.

MB5L Report Discrepacy for Material and Stock Account Currency
I have found in the MB Report Discrepancy for Material and Stock Account Currency. Why is this happening? Why is there a variance between total price in materials and stock account? Anyone please help me. I'm abaper but now been pushed to do logistic. I need help for this issue.

Here's some information from help. Variances can occur for the following reasons:
You have entered postings to the stock account manually.
The stock account includes not only stock postings, but also other postings. In this case, you should check the account determination in the Customizing for Valuation and Account Assignment. Make sure that the stock accounts are used solely for the transaction key BSX (stock postings).
Check Account Determination - OMWB
The account assignment for the stock accounts (transaction key BSX) was changed during productive operation; the respective stocks, however, were not deducted from the old account (movement type 562) and posted to the new one (movement type 561).

what is the Purpose of each report?
Material ledger is activated for this plant, we found some amount difference between these two reports, my client accounting department used to compare these two reports while year end/month end closing

MB5L report will give you list of stock value as per G/L account wise. -
Reports MB5W / MB5L are not displaying the individual material lines
Hi All,
We are encountering a problem in MB5W/MB5L reports. When we are executing these report with the option checked "Display Indiv. Material Lines", system is not displaying the details material wise.
It is just showing the GL wise value of Material ccy and Stock account ccy. It was running fine when we ran the same reports in Feb for Jan 2014.
Do you have any idea why system is behaving like this please?

In report MB5W/MB5L, click the "Current display variant icon" in the next pop-up screen click the position tab and check whether all the material related fields are added or not. If not, move the fields into display list and then check.

Try using report FS10N for all the balnces period wise for a specific year, you need to mention the G/L accounts from MB5L report.

COPY TO EXCEL FUNCTION FOR MB5L
ENHANCE THE COPY TO EXCEL FUNCTION FOR MB5L REPORT SO THAT THE DATA IS STRAIGHT AWAY TRANSFERRED TO EXCEL FILE IN PROPER COLUMNS AND VALUES.

MB5S & ZMB5S - GR/IR Balances
MB5L - Report can be run for current period, previous period and previosu year to enable reconciliation with GL for Inventory.
Seeking a similar report for MB5S or ZMB5S to run for GR/IR balance sheet GL account for previous month, year etc.
Thoughts please, iniitially MB5L was unknown to us but since haveing this T code Stock reconciliation is fine.
Now looking to have ZMB5S or equivalent so can run a report which agrees to GL for prior month.
We do not want to lock users out, if we locked users out there would not specifically be a requirement for MB5L as we could run MB5L & ZMB5S at the time all are locked out.
Given we have a number of sites etc with a variety of trsnactions taking palce would prefer not to lock users out.
Any sugestionbs.
Currently ZMB5S is reconciled during month say after hours mid month. At month end as processing receipts / issues are not finalised till midday of 2nd day of new period difficult to run a ZMB5S report to balance to GL and obtain accuracy without locking out all users. Currently users are posting in Day 1 till midday of Day 2 of new period a variety of transactions some will relate to new period and some to prior period as finalising receipts for month end close etc.

GR/IR Clearing account is an Interim account where the Invoice value is stored but we have not actually receive the Invoice. This is a balance sheet( Liabilities) account.We can do it as month end process (Subject to management Decision) else we can directly do at the year end. Before maintaining GR/IR account you need to ensure that there wont be any invoices from the vendor. After ensuring that difference value is maintained manually.
If the material is Std price, then the diff value will be debited in the price difference account.
If the material is on MAP, then it will be debited in the stock account to the extent where you have enough stock coverage, the remaining less value will be debited to the price difference account.
The balance in GR/IR accounts is due to:
1. GR is complete and yet to receive Invoice (IV is due).
2. Difference in GR and IV amount.
MR11 GR/IR clearing account ,
MR11SHOW Cancel/Display account maintaince in MM &
F.19 is used to for GR/IR clearing in FI.

Dear All,
I have a material for which valuation type and batch management is active. After goods receipt, when i check MB52, i can only see the batch number but no valuation type. So is there any other report that i can see the stock for both valuation type and batch ?

Only if you would not have batch managment activated, then you could directly see the valuation type in MB52.
Anyhow, have a look into MB5L report, it has the valuation type, but may have other issues, if you execute it just for one material -

The Document Concept Locate the document in its SAP Library structure
Document Principle
Even in a computer-supported inventory management system, the accepted accounting principle of no posting without a document applies. According to the document principle. a document must be generated and stored in the system for every transaction/event that causes a change in stock.
When posting a goods movement in the SAP System, the following documents are created:
Material document
In the Inventory Management system, when a goods movement is posted, a material document is generated that serves as proof of the movement and as a source of information for any applications that follow.
A material document consists of a header and at least one item. The header contains general data about the movement (for example, its date). Each item describes one movement.
Accounting document
If the movement is relevant for Financial Accounting (that is, if it leads to an update of the G/L accounts), an accounting document is created parallel to the material document.
In some cases, several accounting documents are created for a single material document. This might be the case, for example, if you have two material document items with different plants that belong to different company codes.
The G/L accounts involved in a goods movement are updated through an automatic account assignment.
For goods receipts for purchase orders, goods movements for stock transport orders and consignment withdrawals, business partners may have different local currencies. Therefore, as well as the local currency, the accounting document must also contain another currency for processing and postings. For this purpose, accounting documents created as a result of these goods movements will automatically be managed in the local currency and in the document currency. You can switch between both currencies by choosing Settings ® Currency display.
Changes to a Document
Once you have posted a goods movement, you can no longer change the document. You can only enter additional information in the document, such as the reference to the original document, or a comment on the event. If you want to reverse the movement or change the quantity of material moved, you must enter a new document.
Document Numbers
A material document is identified by a document number and the material document year. An accounting document is identified by the company code, the document number, and the fiscal year.
Usually, the material document number and the accounting document number are different.
The company code to which the accounting document is posted is derived from the valuation area defined for the plant.
Transaction/Event Types and Document Types
In order to allow detailed document number assignment and systematic storage of documents in the document file, material documents are divided into transaction/event types, and accounting documents are divided into document types (see following table).

why the above same material with same quantity shows different values in MB5L reportDear:
This happens because of different moving average price MAP. Every time there is a MIGO for new PO the system adjust the previous price according to the prices entered at the time of PO creation at the time of MIGO hence moving average price is updated in SAP. Hence its a normal thing to view material price showing different values in MB5L. I hope this clear.

Hello Experts,
we have a crazy situation. When materials were loaded they were loaded as Raw materials and costed. Later they realized that it was a mistake. So user changed the valuation class to semi and recosted with different price. Because of the price difference we had accounting documents. When we run F.01 it shows semi finished values. In the MB5L report it shows raw materials. Is there any way to get these perpetual inventory reports back in synch?

Valuation class are based on MATERIAL TYPE A/c Cat Ref, not like user can assign directly any valuation class on material master
Please revisit your account determination and do more analysis on your issue.
