MDB's keep consuming messages after queue purged

I have a pool of 5 mdbs processing messages from a queue. The queue had 500 messages in it.
I used the imqcmd purge dst ... command to clear a queue.
The mdb's continued to consume messages. I would think that at most 5 messages could have been in the middle of processing and then it would stop but it processed another 30 messages before I killed the app server. I assume it would have gone through the 500.

    I have the following situation:
WebLogic Application Server 6.1 sp1. A deployed mdb does nothing - just sits idle
even when the JMS queue it points to has many messages waiting to be consumed.
When the application server is bounced (i.e., shutdown and restarted), the mdb
starts processing the messages. JMS server has a JDBC backing store.
    Any ideas?

Tobin is right, my apoplication is called "portal", I am not using WLPortal. Anyway,
I managed to resolve my problem,I had sax2 , xp and xt parsers placed in the WEB-INF\lib
directory of my application in addition to my own jar file. I removed the parsers
, and now my application is running fine.
It is strange though, since my application used to load and work flawlessly on
weblogic 6 as well as weblogic 6.1 sp1 with the parsers in the lib directory....
Anyhow, thanks a lot for the help.

    I am not using

  • Receive activity pending when trying to consume message from Queue

    Hi ,
I'm using a BPEL process to publish and subscribe message into a queue using JMS adapter. The messages in Queue are produced and consumed properly . But the BPEL process is still running, with a receive activity used to consume that queue, in pending state. The schema used throughout the BPEL and JMS adapter are the same.
    Edited by: user13829970 on May 8, 2012 2:07 AM

Make sure you use the same schema and same queue name while configuring the Producer JMS Adapter and also the Consumer JMS Adapter
And in the JMS Consumer Composite, define the interface of the BPEL based on the WSDL of the JMS Adapter (service) and then wire the BPEL and the JMS Adapter. Make sure under the receive activity, the create instance checkbox is checked.
    Hope this helps

  • Hotmail keeps downloading message after reset

Ive had to reset my iphone for a few reasons and since the reset hotmail keeps downloading messages that Ive already read. I have over 3000 messages in my hotmail account....is there a way to stop it from downloading messages I have already read...
    thanks...

Hotmail uses POP. Pop is a very old protocol that has limitations.
When you download a message, the mail app actually has to sort of save off to a file index information that it has downloaded the message so it won't again since there really isn't syncing like there is in the IMAP or Exchange protocol.
Thus when you reset, the phone has no idea you got the message before so it will download again. This would happen on your computer to if you were checking a POP account with some type of mail app.
Since Hotmail doesn't allow IMAP and you are stuck with POP there isn't much you can do other than clean up your hotmail inbox on the server.

  • How to consume message with queue payload type 'SYS.AQ$_JMS' in BPEL

    In oracle database
    1. created a queue table with multi consumer, queue_payload_type => 'SYS.AQ$_JMS_OBJECT_MESSAGE' .
    2. created a queue using this queue table.
    3. started the queue.
    4. From java class, published a message into this queue.
Now when I try to access this queue from bpel using AQ adapters, not able to see the queue name. But if I try to consume from java, it is working fine.
Please let me know how we need to access from bpel the messages that are not of xml type and are user defined objects.
    Thanks

    Hi
    Thank You for your information,
I have seen that link which you have provided. Here they have given a example in which they are using Database messaging, i am working on memory/file based messaging.
I am using default JMS Queue (jms/demoQueue) and default Connection Factory (jms/QueueConnectionFactory) which is provided by default in the server. With these i am trying to push message from process to the Queue.
From other process i am trying to receive a message.
For default Queue and Connection factory, i think we dont need to configure any of the xml files.
Please try to use default Queue and Connection Factory to recevie a message from the Queue. Use two different process to develop this.
    Thank You

  • Enterprise Link (Consuming Message from queue)

Hi , I start to use the enterprise link studio and I want to know if there is a way to see the content from a queue , for example I configure in Architect an EMS , and in enterprise link I create Oracle BAM Enterprise Message Receiver , now I want to know if this configuration is correct and the content of my message, more over I want to parse the content of this xml message and input in some variable( is this possible?)
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
You can do this by creating a plan connecting the EMS receiver to a Grid (listed under display sinks ) and then clicking update. This will display the raw message.
Replacing the Grid with Oracle BAM Insert sink you can put the data in a BAM dataobject as a single long string to begin and then add a xsl transformation to EMS (under BAM Architect) to parse. See the samples/tutorials on OTN
    Thanks

  • Keep getting message after updating BB??

I recently updated my blackberry...my BBM and App World...and now ever since I've done that I keep getting a message "You are attempting to open a secure connection, but the server's certificate chain is invalid" then it asks if I want to "Continue," "Close Connection," "View certificate," or "Trust certificate." If I click Continue or Close Connection it keeps popping up about 3-10 times before it goes away for a while and then comes up again. If I click Trust Certificate then it asks "Key Store Access. The following application is requesting access to your Handheld Key Store. Please enter your key store password: ... Vendor Name: Research in Motion Ltd. Application Name: Blackberry Messenger"
It seems to be doing this when I'm not using my phone at all, sometimes when I'm using BBM, or when I leave/enter my wifi (although the message will also continue to pop up even if I'm nowhere near a wifi connection).
I'm assuming this is because of my BBM...
So...can anyone help me please? It's very annoying!!
    Thanks!

    Hello Squishy
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
At first I suggest you try those steps in a sequence :
    1- Register your Handheld .
KB00510 : How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Wait till a Registration messages comes in your message box.
    2- Resend your Service Book
KB02830 : Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
( Wait till a Registration Message comes in your message box for each email that you have configured on your device )
3-  Then perform a battery pull restart like this while the device is powered On remove your battery wait for a min. then reinsert it back
If error persist then you have to follow this Knowledge Base :
KB15204 : Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry smartphone prompts the user to trust a new BlackBerry certificate when connecting
Please try it and let us know.

  • Re-triggering event structures after queue purged

I have a vi built with an event structure that allows the user to stop the tests.  I am using the flush queue subvi in the producer loop to remove the remaining elements.  Then the user may fix the problem and again press start, starting the tests all over.
About 50% of the time, the event structure will not restart, and the vi will need to be stopped and re-started.
There must be something I am missing that is not allowing the event structure to re-start.
Is the position of the flush queue correct in my snippet?
What could cause the event structure to not respond and how can I troubleshoot it?
    Thanks.

You should take more care about your error handling. Propably you just miss the errors that cause this behavior.
    * At the while loop, use shift-registers for the error wire.
    * I also recommend you to place a case around the event structure that catches errors and stop the loop.

  • MDB on OC4J consuming from a forign JMS Server

I would like to create MDBs and deploy them to OC4J. But these MDBs need to consume messages from non-AQ JMS Servers. We are currently using MDBs in OC4J that consume from Oracle AQ using resource adapters. But we now have a need to use other JMS servers such as OpenJMS and JbossMQ.
I have read documents that seem to indicate
Message-driven beans are supported only for Oracle JMS.
Does this mean I cannot create a resource adapter for JbossMQ and deploy a MDB to OC4J that consumes from this JMS Server?
Any help would be most appreciated!
    Thanks, Paul.

  • Purge / recover messages on Queues

I have done a simple application that sends messages to a queue. This messages are dequeued by a MDB.
Yesterday i was testing the app and the MDB throwed an Exception in the on Message so all messages i sent stayed enqueued.
Today i have fixed the bug and when i post a new message is consumed by MDB, but the messages enqueued yesterday during the MDB error are not proccessed.
Imagine the MDB throws an Exception while gets a Database connection or try to call a webservice on a network error.
How can i make the MDB listen to old messages?
    Regards

Hi - thanks for replying. I run my own imap server - it's plain vanilla dovecot. I'll look into the settings there and see what might be off, although I suspect it's an iphone issue because all other imap clients I have used work just fine.
The deleted messages are indeed moved to Trash on Server as I configured it, but they are only marked as deleted without a way to actually be purged (or filtered out when viewing).
    Cheers.

When opening Bridge (CS6) I get the following message: "Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. Please try purging the central cache in Cache Preferences to correct the situation" I tried and after selecting purge cache it does not allow me to select OK. Also Bridge keeps saying "Building Criteria" with the spinning wheel and nothing happens. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Please help:)

Maybe a Preferences reset can help:
Numerous program settings are stored in the Adobe Bridge preferences file, including display, Adobe Photo Downloader, performance, and file-handling options.
Restoring preferences returns settings to their defaults and can often correct unusual application behavior.
Press and hold the Ctrl key (Windows) or the Option key (Mac OS) while starting Adobe Bridge.
In the Reset Settings dialog box, select one or more of the following options:
      Reset Preferences
Returns preferences to their factory defaults. Some labels and ratings may be lost. Adobe Bridge creates a new preferences file when it starts.
    Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache
Purging the thumbnail cache can help if Adobe Bridge is not displaying thumbnails properly. Adobe Bridge re-creates the thumbnail cache when it starts.
    Reset Standard Workspaces
Returns Adobe predefined workspaces to their factory default configurations.
Click OK, or click Cancel to open Adobe Bridge without resetting preferences.

  • How to pick(or consume) messages from Woblogic JMS Queue only when DB is UP

    Hi,
I have a requirement to pick(or consume) messages from Woblogic JMS Queue only when DB is UP.
When DB is down, messages should remain in queue. When DB is up, messaged should be picked on scheduler basis.
We are using SOA suite 11g(BPEL or mediator,JMS Adapter).
What is the best way to achive it in SOA 11g.
I tried, but when I setup a Consumer, there is no control over there. Messages are picked automatically.
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    Ram

    something wrong with the design.
why dont you set the retry options in the fault policies?
So if the external DB is down you could reprocess them after specified interval or make it go to human retry queue.
Then you could use SOA api to retry all of them.

  • Cases where messages are not being consumed from a queue

    MQ 4.0
I have a cluster of 3 brokers. Java clients use RANDOMIZE to connect to the cluster of brokers. Message selectors are not used. My consumers are all synchronous, and connection.start() is called prior to calling MessageConsumer.receive().
What I have seen on random occassions are messages not being consumed from the queue. The problem seems to be sporadic.
I was thinking that the reason it is sporadic is because of the RANDOMIZE configuration of the client connetion / object-store.
That is, there is a possibility for the following to happen:
    1) There were messages produced on a queue on broker A, but before these messages were consumed, all the consumers have been shutdown. Thus, the messages on queue stayed on broker A .... and have not been copied / clustered to the other brokers in the cluster ( As per online documentation, a queue is "copied" to other brokers only when there is a consumer for that queue on the other brokers ).
    2) Then the client applications started up produced and consumers again. This time, the producers were all connected to broker B, and all consumers for the queue were also connected to broker B.
    3) Because there are no other consumers for the queue on the other brokers, the messages in the queue on broker A are never consumed.
Can someone confirm that this is a possibility ?

Well ... it does seem to be the case.
I changed the object-store so that instead of using RANDOMIZE for imqAddressListBehavior, it uses PRIORITY. Therefore, all clients ( producers and consumers ) will connect to only 1 broker out of the 3 in the cluster.
After restarting all JMS clients with the new imqAddressListBehavior, there were messages in various queues in the other brokers that were not being consumed, because there are no longer any consumers on any of the other brokers.
All the messages in that broker that all JMS clients connect to are being consumed ...
Except for about 6 messages that stays in the queue for whatever reason. All consumers receiving with receive( 10000 ), and after consuming all messages above the 6, it returns without any more messages in the queue.
Well ... so much for cluster of brokers. I'll have to think of an alternative.
