MDM 5.5 content

Hi All,
I have the installed MDM components succesfully. Now I want to install the content(Material, Employee, Vendor) delivered by SAP. Can somebody direct me on how doi install this content in MDM5.5
Thanks
Sreekanth

Hello Sreekanth,
there are repository archive files (*.a2a) delivered for each of the R/3 object types, MDM supports currently.
What you have to do to activate such a repository, is :
- copy the archive file into the directory ...\server\archives
- Unarchive the repository in the console. Therefore select the MDM server and then use right mouse click to unarchive the repository
- Load the repository, again via right mouse click.

  • SRM-MDM CATALOG PI Content Import

    Hi All,
We have imported SRM-MDM CATALOG 3.0 in Integration Repository.
When we imported .tpz files all the objects are imported in SWC SRM-MDM CATALOG
except CatalogueUpdateNotification_Out (Message Interface and its corresponding datatype and message type)
    are not imported.
Could you please give me path from where I can download PI content for SRM-MDM CATALOG 3.0 that wil have CatalogueUpdateNotification_Out (Message Interface and corresponding datatype and message type objects)?

  • Usage of MDM's material master relevant XI Content and Business Content

    Dear all,
In MDM's material-relevant XI content, there's a message interface "MDMMatmasIn". But in the demo system this interface is not used to write material master data to file. The IDoc type MATMAS.MATMAS05 is used instead. No mapping is used. May I ask why?
I tried the 00_MATMAS05_R3.map file and can import file in the format of MATMAS.MATMAS05. But some value mappings are not done and have to be added manually. Do I miss precedent steps?
In MDM Business content, there're lots of import map files like 00_MATMAS05_R3.map and 03b_Units_SAP_R3.map. During the data consolidation procedure, should we just use one map to import the IDoc-XML file? Shouldn't we first use other map file to fill the lookup tables? If not, what are those map files used for? Is there any document about the usage of those map files?
Very sorry for asking so many questions. I'm very new in this area and desperately need help...
    Best Regards
    Jerome

    Hi Christiane,
Thanks for the document. But I didn't find how  to import the customization data into the lookup tables. For example, in the MDM standard business content, the "Material" repository contains a lookup table "Material Type". It doesn't contain the values like "ROH" and "HAWA". How can we fill such tables?
And the standard map "00_MATMAS05_R3" doesn't automatically add such values into lookup table by value mapping. When I tried to import a material master, I had to manually modify this map. Is there any solution to this problem?
    Best Regards

  • MDM 7.1 with XI 3.0

Can we have MDM 7.1 with Xi 3.0, we don't plan on using any MDM XI Business content, nor the new PI adaptor, can we have the same original loosely coupled architecture where the integration point b/w XI & MDM is the outbound port and nothing else?
    -Sudhir.

    Hi,
You can use XI3.0,its offers what you are expecting,But direct communication to MDM not possible, but you can connect to File System, you can pick up syndicated files and send to receiver.

  • Error during deploying MDM 7.1 Sp02 bussiness packages in CE7.1 using JSPM

    Hello,
I am facing error when i am trying to deploy following MDM sca file in CE7.1 using JSPM
    1. BPMDMAPP02_115.sca
    2. BPMDMTECH02_115.sca
I have already deployed following SCA file into CE7.1 successfully.
    3 .MDMJAVAAPI02_59.sca  (deployed success)
is it mandatory that all sca files should be at same path level?currently API is at 59 and App and tech are at 115 .
I am using CE7.1 trail version , i could not find out SDM to deploy sca files,so i am using JSPM to deploy sca files.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Veeru.

    Hi,
Yes, all three should be compatible to MDM server and should be at same patch level.
But i think reason for your deployment error is different.
I found this in SAP note no 1281637
"MDM standard Portal content (iViews) are supported on SAP NetWeaver 2004 and SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s).  At this time, there are no plans to migrate the content to be compatible to SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1.
Please Check Note 1281637 - Deployment errors on NW 7.1 CE for MDM portal content

Can anyone please guide me on this...
    Thanks & Regards
    Sireesha.

    Hello Sreesha,
You can configure the look n feel of your Catalog Screen.
The SRM-MDM catalog business content, there are some scar files which you have deployed on the server. With the help of that scar file, you can access the search UI Catalog Screen from the link as mentioned below:
Just coneect with your MDM server by server name and password then select your repository. In the standard repository of SRM-MDM, there is alreardy a user as "Master" having role as "UI Configuratation Manager"
Just login with user as "Master" and pwd as blank.
then you can find the UI screen, there are so many functionality to configure your catalog screen.
    Hope this will help you.

  • New table / field in SAP MDM not being reflected in SAP EP

    Hi,
I have added a lookup- flat table in MDM and added a field corresponding to this table in my main Products table.
I have maintained data in both the main table and the look up table thru Data manager
    Problem:
I want to populate this field through the SAP EP. I am using std MDM iView Details template. When I check the drop down to select the table, I see only the ones which had come with the MDM std business content. The added tables/ fields are not visible on the portal to select :(.
Can you help me out Please? Are there some settings that need to be done?
    Regards,
    Alpana

As a mandatory requirement after completing the deployment process, the Web Application Server should be restarted for the changes made by the deployment to take effect and appear in the Portal.
Have you restarted Web Application Server after deployment?
Also check, User Mapping for the Connected MDM System
Search for the User (Portal User) which needs to be mapped to the appropriate MDM User.
It is quite interesting that you are getting all other tables in std i-view template except newly added.
It could be also because you have already there connection of EP with MDM before that table and new field exists in MDM.
And it is showing same existing table and fields, I mean not reflected now newly added table and field. I would suggest you to create the MDM connection with EP from scratch. Just give MDM System Name and ID, MDM Server, Repository, Language, Creating an Alias for the connected MDM System, User Mapping and connection Test for the Connected MDM System.
May be it result in reflecting newly added Table and field which is not visible in EP as of now. Just give it a try.
    Hope it helps...

  • Importing xml file using standard maps in mdm

    Hi Experts,
In a scenario of getting the data from ECC system to the MDM system(using MDM standard business contents and standard Maps), we are  two cases.
Case 1 : Using MDM_CLNT_EXTR, we extract the main table records into the standard IDoc structure and sent to PI and PI converts this standard IDoc in to an XML file and sends it to the inbound folder of MDM and from there using the standard map, it is imported into MDM.(most common method of implementation)
Case 2: we are using XML File option in Partner Profile to store the XML file in the Global Directory of ECC system and we are generating XML files using the transactions BD10, BD12 and BD14 for the respective business objects. And then copy these XML files from the Global directory and plae it in the inbound folder of MDM manually.
Now the question is can the xml file in the case 2 be used as a substitute for the xml of case1 and
can we use the same standard map to import the XML file abtained from case2?
Please share your experience to solve this issue.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sravan.

    Hi Sravan,
this depends on the business content you are using. Some parts of the content use XSLT mappings on PI to change the message content. Please refer to the related SAP content notes for details:
MDM Business Partner Content (SAP Note 1035773)
MDM Customer Content (SAP Note 1252884)
MDM Employee Content (SAP Note 1268212)
MDM Material Content (SAP Note 1255401)
MDM Product Content (SAP Note 1252846)
MDM Vendor Content (SAP Note 1252883)
    Best regards

  • MDM Connector problem

    Hi,
We have upgraded the MDM Server from MDM 5.5 SP3 to SP4 and have deployed all the SCA files for Portal Content as well as for MDM Java Connector.
now, I have got a Web Dynpro application which was running perfectly in SP3 but now is not able to connect to MDM Server through MDM Java Connector.
I'm getting an error saying "com.sapportals.connector.connection.ConnectionFailedException: Connection Failed: failed to connect server xx.xx.xx.xx due to:com/sap/mdm/internal/commands/AbstractCommand "
Does anyone know what could be the possible reason for this.
    Regards,
    Mausam
PS:- The JAR files I'm using right now are all at SP4.

    Hi Mausam,
as I am aware, the MDM 5.5 SP4 patch1 is already available for download from SAP Marketplace for all customers who previously downloaded SP4 (no patch - or patch0). Please open the SP4 patch1 installation bundle, and close to the sca files must be a Readme.txt file too - it contains detailed info related to the new packaging of the files, and the deployment of MDM 5.5 SP4 patch1 components in SAP NW J2EE/Portal environment.
If you do not have this information, then in nutshell: using SDM remove all mdm components visible in Undeploy view (com.sap.mdm.* and com.sap.pct.mdm.*), then Deploy the sca files from the installation bundle you got, then restart J2EE/Portal.
    Additional hints:
    a). the portal config guide in SP4 is named "MDM Enterprise Portal Content" - available too at SAP Marketplace https://service.sap.com/installmdm ;
    b). check the config information in the document above (e.g. version of sca files must match the version of MDM Server);
c). if there is already SP3 portal content, then SAP Note 969310 describes how to upgrade it to SP4.
I hope this will help in your work.
    Regards.
    Laszlo.

  • Unarchive ERROR- Customer [Business content]

    Hi All,
I am trying to unarchive MDM Customer business content MDM 7.1 , am getting the following error:
' Archive has too many languages (18) for DBMS Platform limit of (17) for target repository : Customer"
$$$ xoperation ended in ERROR : ffab414fh : Error adding a language . You may have exceeded the maximum number allowed".
    1. Is there any DBMS Platform limitations for adding languages?
    please advise.
    thanks,
    Alexander.

    Hi Alexander,
It seems like you are using IBM DB2 database.
In order to fix it, Please Check SAP Note: 1143932
Fixed: Language limitation on DB2 databases. Set parameter "IBMDB2 Use Long Varchar For Languages=True" in mds.ini file to activate the fix.

  • Extraction of variant config to MDM

    Hi ..
Can anybody tell me ,if variant configuration from sap can be extracted to MDM.

I dont know about Varian Configuration, but MDM have standard contents for Vendor, Product and Material masters.
MDM also provides MDM Generic Extractor to extract data form R3 system. So if your data is some what we have in standard repositories them MDM is open.
If not then we can create custom repositories for any master in MDM, and MDM is capable of importing data from xml, flat file, jdbc, excel etc.
Michale if you can help in this regard, please.

  • Customer master data, Materials master data integration Integration in XI

    Dear Experts,
I need your help in the following cases
We are integrating MDM 5.5 to  ECC6.0 via XI 3.0.
    1. I am not able to understand  exactly what interfaces, mappings, integration scenarios from sap delivered MDM Business Content need to use for integrating  customer master data , Materials from MDM 5.5 to ECC 6, As we are using standard content.
    2. What idoc types  needs to be created in ECC  for these two scenarios ( customer, material /products).
    3. Is there any way to see the field mappings easily in XI , as the MDM standard business content for XI used xslt mapping programs .
Could you please give helping hand with step by step procedure for customer, material integration in XI.
Help is rewarded and greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards.
    nag.

    Hello Nag,
    1. I am not able to understand exactly what interfaces, mappings, integration scenarios from sap delivered MDM Business Content need to use for integrating customer master data , Materials from MDM 5.5 to ECC 6, As we are using standard content.
If you import Business Content of MDM 5.5. You should easily figure out that by looking at the Message Mapping for DEBMAS03 IDoc.
.2. What idoc types needs to be created in ECC for these two scenarios ( customer, material /products).
No need to create any Master IDocs in SAP system. You can find them with the name DEBMAS (For Customer) and MATMAS (Material).
    3. Is there any way to see the field mappings easily in XI , as the MDM standard business content for XI used xslt mapping programs .
If you really want to know how the XSL Mapping is programmed. You can export the XSL from XI  and open it in standard XML /XSL editor (say Stylus Studio ) to see how the output is programmed
