MDM Inbound Port Not Processing Files

Dear Experts,
I got an issue while processing file from Ready folder of a specific Inbound Port where files are not processed then i tried with another inbound port of the same repository there it is working fine. Can anybody please help me out to make it work.
Thanks
Ravi

Hi Ravi,
Make sure the user ID that you are using for the auto imports in the mdis.ini file has sufficient rights for that particular port. If thats not there the file would not autoimport.
You could even try importing the file manually using import type as port. This will help you identify if there any problems in the file and its schema that you trying to import.
Also check if the port is set to automatic and the schema and map is maintained correctly.
Another thing that you could check in the console is the port status. If there is a file in the ready folder it must display has data. Or if a file in the exception folder it must then show blocked on exception if you have set that property to yes.
In cases when it does not show if afile present or not,you need to make sure the directory path mentioned in the mdis.ini file is correct. Also you would need to restart the importserver through the services and check again.
If nothing works try deleting the port and recreating it through the console.

Aditya Dhurandhar.

  • Could not process file 'Input 110110b.txt': com.sap.aii.adapter.file.

I have a FILE Adapter using FTP as a transport that is generating a very odd error.
The FTP sender channel is giving the following error is set up to retreive all files (*) from a specific directory.  If you look at the error, it indicates an error processing the file 'Input 110110b.txt' as a file -- the only way this filename woudl be visible is if the adapater interrogated the directory, or the filename was hard-coded in the file mask.  But the error indicates it can't change to the directory.  The only way it would have come up with the file is if it had already CD'd t that directory.

My first thought was a simple permission issue, so I opened a connection to server with FileZilla (an FTP client) and was able to retrieve the file without a problem.  I was also able to drop a file in the directory.  There is no permissions problem.

    Hi
Please check the below points before processing any file
    a) check the File placing by a Local Plant FTP owner is using the same authentification credentials It means both PI and source team needs to use same FTP User ID and login credentials otherwise if suppose if source team is placing with one User and PI cannot able to pick that file as this User cannot have permissions in this case also u will get 550 error
    b) I know what ur telling is u manualy palced one file and able retrive...but do one thing u can login with same PI FTP login server credentials and then place the file with different name also I suggest lets test the channel by simply keeping
. not simply * if you keep simply * then u cna use in receiver chanel while using dynamic connfiguration.
Else give *.txt and then activate the channel and also please check the CACHE as well

  • Sequential message import for MDM inbound ports

    Hello,
    The scenario is as follows:
PI receives a complex message and split into two simple messages.
These two messages will be sent to two ports of the same repository and insert data into two main tables.
Since there is a lookup main field, one message must be processed by MDIS before the other one.
Would you please suggest an easy way to control this sequential import requirement?
    Best regards,
    Dale

    Hi Dale,
This scenario can be achieved in PI as we can not schedule the inbound ports in MDM (Polling interval is a global attribute in MDIS.INI).
As you are using PI you will be creating two Different Communication Channels for achieving the split and posting it to MDM ports. you can leverage the Functionality  " Availablity Time Planning " in Run Time Work bench->Component Monitoring -> Communication Channel Monitoring, where you can schedule(ON/OFF) your communication channels on a specific time periods using the Availability Time as ON TIME from the drop down.
Please find some blogs and links for your reference.

  • File adapter issue - files not processed (file name mask is *)

    Hi guys!
I have a problem I never faced before. My file adapter doesn't process files in the source directory. When I put there exact file's name, it is processed. But when I use * , nothing happen. This is very strange. I was wondering, if problem can't be in that my PI box is UNIX and it's accessing Win filesystem.
    Any ideas, what to try?
    Thank you!
    Olian

Yes, but I meant the one directory we're working in. We can write, delete there, so we should be able also use wildcards,  don't we?
However, I tried it on a directory with 777 attributes. There is a file named clooo.ttt. When I run del .ttt I get Requested action not taken, file unavailable. The same for clooo. , clooo*,...  But when I type del clooo.ttt, the file is deleted...
    Any suggestions?

  • FTP Receive port not pulling files

I configured FTP receive location to pull files from FTP server. It is not pulling files and not even giving any error in event log and also provided log file location in properties.
It is not doing any thing in Production server (Biztalk 2013 (Standared edition),64bit) but same FTP configuration is pulling files in my Development system (Biztalk 2013 Developer edition).
Can any one help me how to resolve this issue.

    Try the following:
Disable and enable the FTP Receive location. This could sometime help the configuration to refresh itself.
Restart the host instance to which the  FTP Receive location configured to.
Give a wrong password, and see whether you get any warning or any eventlog entries.
Use any network tracing tools like WireShark which help you to trace the event happening.
Ensure you're firewall/or remote server from where you're trying to poll for the message is not blocking the file transfer. Sometimes, firewall or any network issue blocks are not reported back to FTP adapter so that it can log it as error/warning. So ensure
its not an issue due to any network related thing.

  • File Adapter not processing Files which has COMMA in it

    Hi Experts,
I am working on Project in SOA 11.1.1.6.
I am trying to process a file which has comma in it. for eg - XXXXXXX-XX_XX_XXX11,99.pdf
I am picking the file using file adapter from SOURCE directory and using another file adapter to WRITE to destination directory. Polling processing is working fine.
I am picking the file from SOURCE directory as ATTACHMENT and WRITING to DESTINATION folder through File Adapter
While doing file WRITE its failing. While reading the file the values of Content Type, Character Set and Encoding are NULL for the ATTACHMENT as they are optional properties.
The error I am getting while File WRITE is
    <remoteFault>
    <part name="summary">
<summary>java.lang.RuntimeException: Failed to decode properties string att.encoding=null,att.charset=null,att.contentId=AReadFile/XXXXXXXX_XX_XXX11,99.pdf_1352184009640,att.contentType=null,att.partName=attach</summary>
    </part>
    <part name="detail">
    <detail>1</detail>
    </part>
    </remoteFault>

Comma is usually treated as a separator/delimiter and hence it is not really common to have comma in filename. I think because of this reason File adapter does not support it (have to cross-verify). If you really have a requirement to read/write files with comma in filename then better log a SR with Oracle support.

  • FTP channel - not processing files, coz one of the files is wrong,

    Hi all,
I have an FTP adapter which has Seeburger modules for charset conversion. It is supposed to poll a dir. Read the file and delete it with a QoS Exactly once and file type as binary.
If the files in the directory I poll are all good ones, then the scenario goes smooth. But when one of the files is wrong(structure of the file is not correct), the adapter gives
Error: javax.resource.ResourceException: --- Conversion of synchronous request from module chain ended with errors ---[Error:ID=2099;LEVEL=1] InhouseDocReader doSyntaxCheck(): offset[119]: the found segment UNB is not in the message description. DESCRIPTION: InhouseDocReader Error: The Segment UNB is missing in the message description. Check your file.
My problem is, when such an error happens, the adapter does not go to the next file. It kind of goes to a loop. So even if there are good files in the directory, they are not read because a wrong file is blocking the adapter’s way. Hope the issue is clear !
Any idea about why is this? Is there a way to tell the adapter to ignore the wrong one and proceed to the next?
Otherwise, is there a way to rename the wrong file in such a way that the adapter can proceed to the next file or move the wrong file to another directory?
We are at SP8, someone was telling SP10 solves this , not sure, is there a way to fix this in SP8, because, i can't change SP level at the moment ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers

  • PI-MDM Port Not Found Issue

    Dear Experts,
We are posting a message from MDM to ECC via PI. Idoc was successfully created in ECC.
Our requirement is : getting a response message from ECC to MDM via PI. Message reached PI but not posting to MDM Port folder and in CC Monitoring error is as below::
"Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.aii.af.lib.ra.cci.XIAdapterException: System error: MDM port not found"**
Could you please provide your inputs.
    Thaking you.
    Hemanth

    Hi Hemanth,
Please check the Setting for Inbound Messaging (communication channel) of PI
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmdm71/helpdata/en/48/9854884d3217cee10000000a421937/content.htm
Make sure here you fill all parameters correctly along with <serverName>:<portNumber>, Port Code and Remote System Code etc of the inbound MDM port.
Also, check that there is no more than one MDM receiver configured per MDM inbound port in your system landscape. Deviating from this guideline can lead to a race condition state where different MDM receiver communication channels are monitoring the same MDM inbound port, and only the first one receives the import acknowledgment of the message.
Just check and revert with result.

  • XI can not process empty files

    Hi All,
We have some problems as SAP is sending empty files.
are there any way to avoid this kind of files?
Actually an error happens when an empty file is sended. Xi is not able to process it and this empty files blocks the correct execution of the following files.
Thanks a lot in advance and kind regards

    Hi Masters,
We had an error this morning. This is the log:
<i>2007-04-12 08:00:00 UTC: Error: File 'Diageo_Multisite_col.dat': Archiving to file'/data/backup/20070412-080000-296_Diageo_Multisite_col.dat' on FTP Server after processing failed: FTPEx: Transfer complete.</i>
The file Diageo_Multisite_col.dat is Zero bytes.
It is not important as this file will be overwrited tomorrow and the interface will be executed.
But in other interfaces that take a lot of files, if one is empty XI does not process any of them and does not provide any log. Until Zero bytes files will be deleted XI will not process files.
Hope it helps somebody to help me in order to understand the problem
    Thank you very much
    Regards.

That just indicates that a state message sent by a client was somehow corrupted. You can examine the .smx that was moved to the corrupt-box, but it's not unusual that it happens.

  • Lync 2013 client not processing history spooler folder (conversation history)

We have been using Lync 2013 fully patched up to latest & greatest, along with Exchange 2013 for about 6 months now & everything is working
great. (I did a AD migration from our old parent company in the UK as well as migrated exchange from 2010 to 2013, all that without a hitch for the most part.)
the issue that seems to be popping up intermittently is conversation history. I manged to work around some of them for the most part & getting
them to process; with the exception of 1 user.
If he logs into another PC his conversation history works fine.
However on his PC it does not seem to want to process the history spooler folder in "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]m",
there are 737 files in there (all of his convo history)
Now what i did & it seems to sort of work is,Signed out of Lync, I deleted the users Sip folder after backing up the history spooler folder, logged
back into Lync which recreated the sip_user folder; logged back out of Lync , copied the History Spooler folder back to the SIP folder, & signed into Lync.
This took 10 files out of the history spooler folder, & then appeared in the convo history; both on Lync client & Outlook; but did not bring
all of them in. I did some testing and if you log out, then back in, it processes a few more. but not all.
EWS & MAPI settings & all other Lync configuration information settings match a users with no convo history issues.
    So now the questions.
1)What could possibly cause what ever mechanism that processes the History spooler folder to stop/only process a few items during sign in? Also what
    is the mechanism?
2)Is there any way through powershell to force the synchronization of the history spooler folder?
    Thank you

so in some more testing i had check the history spooler folder, & there were about 700+ files.
as a note* (Upon deleting the users sip folder & logging back in thus re-creating the folder new convo's where saving. So i did "fix" the issue with no new convo's during my initial work prior to opening this thread.)
I then removed a good chunk of the *.hist files & only left convo's from this month. signed out then back in, 10 files processed. then did it again, another 10. did it again, & it did 4 then stopped. I noticed there were some files over 1 mb. &
remember coming across this post (Lync
not processing files over 1mb) so i removed the 1mb files & then logged out then back in. processed 10 more.
i then added all the files to the history spooler file with the exception of the files over 1 mb, & logged in & out about 70 times to process the whole folder. Now all of the convos are in Lync & outlook as well as new convo's being saved. However
i have a folder now with 130 files that are over 1mb that will not process at all..
so now i am trying to find some validity on the statement in the link above
"We did open a case with Microsoft and they confirmed it is a bug in the Exchange EWS HTTP stack. It
is supposedly under review by the Dev team, but my guess is that it won't be fix soon. The magic size is exactly 1MB or 1048576 bytes."
If that is actually true it sucks & is some B.S as it is nearly 2 months later & this is obviously
a major problem & not even a CU or PU has been released to address the issue.

  • Processing files in the order they were placed using file adptr in 10.1.3.4

    Dear experts,
Do we have an option for File adapter, whether it can process the files in the order they were placed on the mount directory.
Scenarios is: we have a third party system which generates a file for every 1 min. In case when BPEL service is down for sometime then files are getting accumulated and the moment we turn the service on, it is not processing files in the order they were created.
But the system to which we are sending file data, it needs data in order.
We are using soa suite 10.1.3.4.

  • Port sequence and file processing in SAP MDM

    Hi All,
Can any one let me know how port sequence mechanism works in MDM 7.1? As per my understanding in SAP MDM no one files from different ports are processed simultaniously...Suppose if you have three different ports A,B,C and the scenairo is as below:
SAP PI sends 2 files to A port and then sends 2 more files to B port and then sends 1 file to C port....All these files are not send simultaniously.
    Thanks
    Rajeev

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdm550/helpdata/en/43/120367f94c3e92e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
Once started, MDIS scans inbound ports in the order set by the Sequence column in the Ports pane of the MDM Console. When it finds a port containing an import file, it uses the portu2019s associated import map to process the file.
The sequence in which MDIS processes ports is not affected by a portu2019s remote system.
MDIS processes all files in a portu2019s Ready folder before scanning the next port in the sequence.
When more than one import file is present in the folder, MDIS processes the files in a FIFO (first in, first out) order, meaning the oldest file in the port is processed first, then the next oldest, and so on.
Under certain circumstances, MDIS will skip over a port and not process any import files it may contain. These circumstances include the following:
    ·        Port is set up for manual processing instead of automatic.
    ·        Port is blocked due to a structural exception.
    ·        Port is connected to an Import Manager or other MDIS.
Once all ports on the MDM Server have been scanned, MDIS waits the number of seconds specified in the Interval property of the mdis.ini file before restarting the sequence (for more information, see MDIS Configuration).
    Thanks,
    Shambhu.

  • File Port Not Picking Up File

    Hello All,
I'm trying to get a file sent from an external system to SAP. I created a file port. The inbound tab of the port has the full path of where the file will be after it's sent from the external system. The external system is a PC server and is sending the file to the folder no problem. However, the SAP file port is not picking up the file. This is an IDOC file I'm trying to send to SAP. In the file port I click "test connection" and I get a positive result showing "access is possible".
I went into WE16 to manually bring the file in. I use the full path as in the file port plus the file name. I also enter the port name and try to execute. An error comes back saying "error opening file".
    In WE16 I use...
    <pc server>\directory\filename
Any help as to why I can't get the file through the port or manually in WE16 would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
