Media card repair failed

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Anyway I bought my Curve 9360 in January from the o2 store. Last month a message popped up on my screen saying 'a media card has been inserted that contains errors. Do you wish to repair the Media Card now' I clicked yes. After that I got another message saying 'If lost clusters are found during the repair, do you want to save them?' again I pressed yes. The problem was successfully repaired. Today the same thing happened except this time it said 'Media card repair failed'. I searched how to repair it but I don't seem to understand how to do it.
Could somebody explain to me, in easy words that I will understand.
Thank you

There is a good chance the media card is going bad.  Highly recommend you get a replacement.

  • Media Card Repair + Back up failing

    Hi everyone,
I've been trying to back up my phone for a while now and I have been trying to upgrade the 7.0 bundle to 7.1. However, when I connect my BB on to the PC and start the back up it lags when it reaches the "Card options". Yesterday the back up lagged again so I had to disconnect the phone. A while later, this message appeared "Media card repair". I clicked YES and it saved the damaged clusters. The pictures disappeared, but when I connect to the PC I can view them. So I formatted the media card but still can't back up or upgrade my phone.
    HELP ..
    Regards,
    Norah.

You remove the media card and run the backup and update process. Once the update is completed format the media card and transfer the media files back to the phone.

  • Installing a media card

I recently changed from a 8830 world phone to a 8330 curve.  I've inserted the media card from the 8830 to the Curve and I get the following message under options/media card: (Media card cannot be read.  Verify that the memory card is formatted.)
I've tried to format the media card and the following message comes up: (Media card format failed)  I've tried taking the card out several times and still the same thing happens.  What's wrong or what am I doing wrong?

    Hi,
Please re-flash BIOS to Win8 version first.

I have a 8330 BlackBerry. When I go to Options and click on Media Card, it says, "Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted". When I format it I get a message that reads, "Media Card Format Failed".  Any solutions?

I recommend that you take the media card out of the phone and try to read it on a PC.  If it reads OK, I would then back up the files on the card (on to the PC) and format the card using the PC's system which is more thorough than the phones format system.
If you have problems reading the media card on your PC, use the data recovery tools in your PC operating system to try and recover the media card contents.
If the PC format is successful, then return the media card to your phone and see if can be read.  You may need to format it (in the phone).  FYI;  format in the phone typically is just to create the folders for your files (pictures, music, documents, etc.).
Now copy your 'backed up' files from the PC onto the media card and you should be good.
If none of these operations are successful, you may have a damaged media card and need a replacement.
    Good luck.

  • Media Card Issues...Please Help

About a week ago I could not save anything to my media card.  I put everything on my computer so I need to reformat my card and get it working again.  When I try to format it  I get  "Media Card Format Failed"  What should I do?

Hi.  Have you tried reading the card on your pc? It's possible your card is failing, but try to read it on your pc.  If you can that would tell you it is not the card.

  • BB can't see media card but PC can

Hi, I'm attempting to install a 4 gb Micro SDHC card into my Blackberry 8330 but I'm not having any luck. I can see and work with the card from my PC but not the BB. Here are the details:
    BB software v4.3.0.127
    Carrier = Verizon Wireless
Media card is a SanDisk (not purchase from Verizon) 4gb micro SDHC
Formated card in PC, no problem
added directories (recommended by another thread) for pictures, voicenotes, video, blackberry and ringtones
Changed Media settings on blackberry to match recommendations from other tread:
    media card support is on
    encryptions mode = none
    mass support mode = on
auto enable mass storage = yes
The BB still tells me the media card cannot be read. If I try to format it from the BB, it says the "Media Card Format Failed".
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • FileSystemJournalListener failing on 9360 when saving to media card

I have a situation where an app I have written using the FileSystemJournalListener api is not picking up picture files when the camera is set to save files to the media card.  The app works fine when the picture files are set to save to the device.  The device is a 9360 (Bell) running 7.0.0.319.
Btw, the same app is running fine on a Torch.
Can anyone help with this... Thanks

    Dom C
What format is that Card? Most camera cards are formatted in older Windows formats such as FAT16 and/or FAT 32, and these have a limit to the number of items they can have on the top level of the card. Try exporting the pics to a folder on the desktop, then dragging the folder to the card.

My Mac Book Air works fine, but i get this message now everytime I run disc verify on this disc. The Macintosh HD checks out fine.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
It is not uncommon to buy a "dead" card. I would simply return it.
You can run diagnostics and possibly repair some errors, but for how long?
You  payed good money for a device that functions properly, get your monies worth.
That said I will give you some information to verify that the media card size is supported by

  • Serious Help Needed, Please! Media Card Error

    Blackberry Torch 9800
Okay this has happened to me twice. Second time just now. I noticed all my files were mucked up and wouldn't open, so I performed a battery pull with the device turned on. Turned my phone back on to discover a media card error with clustered files- tried to repair, repair failed. I've lost everything- again. I went to options>device>storage and tried to repair from there and it said I didn't have a media card installed. Tried to repair anyway and it also failed.
The first time this happened I tried to repair from my computer and that failed too- it has failed this time also. I reformatted the card from my device- if anyone has a way to get my files back please let me know!
I had seriously important memories and things I seriously need to get back. If there's any way I can't get them back please let me know. It says I have absolutely nothing in my files on my phone. Pleaaaase help!

  • MacBook Pro is corrupting media cards - any suggestions on how to fix this?

Memory cards become corrupted when inserted into the card reader slot. When I put the card back in the camera, the camera malfunctions (Error 99 message). I have had the camera cleaned and sent in for repairs, but there in nothing wrong with it. New media cards work until they are inserted into the Mac. Now the Mac is telling me some file formats can't be read, but the format has not changed from previous images it reads off the same card, taken during the same sessions. Images I was able to see on the camera become unreadable after trying to download in the Mac. The Mac is messing up the cards -- corrupting them, so they aren't usable in the camera anymore. I have been told to try using a media card reader, but that is just a band-aid fix. Does anyone know of a real fix that could remedy this problem?

Make sure that you haven't disable background images.
