Memory overflow in buffer synchronization in sm21

HI ,
Iam getting memory overflow in buffer synchoronization in sm21 for BI System. After referring the thread Reg: Memory oveflow in buffer synchronization error in SM21  i understand  buffering needs to be  switch off from se13 for /BIO/PDOC_NUMBER &  /BIO/PDOC_NUMBER tabels (in my case). But, when i try to switchoff the Buffering mode in production system client settings has been set to NOT MODIFIABLE.
Please suggest how can i switch off the buffering without changing the client Settings. Is it possible to create Workbench request from development system switchofff the buffer same to imported in the production system.

Hi,
Are you able to see these table in SE11? If yes then you can switch off the buffering using SE11-->Technical settings and switch off the buffering. This is transportable.
Regards,
Vamshi.

  • Urgent help with ORA-01062: unable to allocate memory for define buffer

    Hello, Folks!
I have a c++ code that is using OCI API that is running both in
    windows and in spark.
(The same c++ code compiled and running in both platforms)
    and asking the same query.
In windows, everything is OK but in spark
    it failes...
The ORACLE Server is installed on win2003 station
Both client and server ORACLE version is 10.2.0.1.0
The code is running on spark(oracle instant client is installed)
This query is a simple select query that selects only one field
of type VARCHAR2(4000) (the same problem with happen with any
string type field larger than 150 characters)
The error occured when calling for OCIDefineByPos method
when associating an item in a select-list with the type and output
    data buffer.
The error message is: ORA-01062: unable to allocate memory for define
    buffer
(This error message signifies that I need to use piecewise operation...)
But it happens even if I make this varchar2 field to be of size larger
    than 150.
It is not fair to use piecewise fetch for such a small fields sizes.
May be there is not configuration setting that can enlarge this
I know that I wrote here a very superficial description.
If somebody knows something about this issue, please help
    Thanks

I had a special luck today after searching the solution per weeks:)I have got a solution.
When I get the size of the oci field, in the following expressioin
    l_nResult = OCIAttrGet(l_oParam->pOCIHandle(), OCI_DTYPE_PARAM, &(orFieldMD.m_nSize), NULL, OCI_ATTR_DATA_SIZE, m_oOCIErrInfo.pOCIError());
orFieldMD.m_nSize was of type ub4 but according the manual it must be ub2.
As a result, the number returned was very large (junk?) and I passed this value to OCIDefineByPos
Now I changed the type and everything is working!!!
In windows there is not problem with this expression :)
    Thanks

that path was one of the specific paths that I used to manipulate the boot. I resulted to trying this because it was unable to load from kernel/sparcv9/unix. This thing is, that path is available on the media that I am using, so I have no idea why is it saying it can't find it.
    The path that you see:
    <pub/install/Solaris_10/Tools/Boot/platform/SUNW,Netra-T4/kernel/drv/sparcv9/lombus>
was one of the paths that I tried using to get it to install from, because it said it couldn't find the default path. The path you see just happened to be the one that was on the screen when I copied it to show the error message in this thread.
As you can see, I'm a little stuck. As it stands...I don't know many things about installing on sparc servers.
With that said, any help would do. At the moment, I am downloading the Solaris 9 media, and then I will try to get at Solaris 10 by upgrading the software. If this fails, I will just buy a DVD drive.
    Can anyone still help me?

  • Solaris 10 Jumpstart error: panic - boot: boot: scratch memory overflow.

I am setting up a Solaris Jumpstart server using a Linux server as the Boot/Config/Install server. The Sun box I am using is a v120 that will be running Solaris 10 update 5.
After running the "boot net - install" command and running through the setup the install terminates with the error
boot: failed to allocate 8192 bytes from scratch memory
panic - boot: boot: scratch memory overflow.

    ok
    ok
I found a patch (111306-07) that supposedly fixes this problem (logged as bug 4411148). Is there a specific way to add a patch to Jumpstart so that it installs before the system reboots after the main install is done? I know the patches folder goes off of the added on date for the patch and not a patch_order file, does that mean it can just be placed in the folder and will be added automatically? Has anyone seen this error message before on their own systems?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Has anyone seen this error message before on their own systems? Not here. You want to install the patch into the jumpstart boot image. You may also need to install the patch onto the installed OS, but that's less certain.
For the first part, find your jumpstart image and pass that into patchadd with the -C flag to patch the jumpstart portion.

  • Export memory using shared buffer

    Hi
Lets say a user opens the PO screen ME22N in 2 separate windows accessing 2 separate PO numbers. If  i use the export memory using shared buffer , how can i ensure that the data will not get mixed up ?
    Any ideas?

YOu would have to get the session id to distinguish between the two.  You can then use this id as part of your key to pass to the export statement.
    Check this thread.

  • How not to realocate memory in a "buffer write" loop

    Hello,
i posted this also in the DIO board, but maybe this is specifically a Labview problem:
my application requires sending data to all 4 ports of a DIO 32HS at a 2MHz rate, for an undefined length of time.
preparing a bit less than the maximum buffer size (about 64MB /4 it seems) and setting the Buffer control to "reserve", i then begin to send information in arrays of 4 words to the "buffer Write", while cycling trough the buffer. after some initial buffer loading time ( about a second worth of timed output), i begin the output operation with DIO start.
my data being prepared online, i cant use a double buffer configuration (half buffer size being recreated and reloaded), because my application typically stops creating output words in the middle of such half buffer size, leaving the rest of the array full of null values, affecting my output applications.
However "Buffer write" reallocate memory each time a 4-bytes array is sent to it. therefore sending out 10ms worth of data takes 500ms, sending 100ms takes 5seconds!! this makes it impossible to actually prepare online the data to be sent out. by preparing the full length array in advance, the windows limitation of ~16Mwords then limits my output application to max ~8 seconds only.
Is there any way to avoid memory reallocation on calling the Buffer Write? what are actually the elements the dll requires?
i am using traditional NI-DAQ and Labview 7.1 or 8.2.
Thanks for any help on the subject.
... And here's where I keep assorted lengths of wires...

    Hello Kevin,
    Thanks for your answer.
attached is some test code (not very clean but should be understandable):
two elements are sent with a time lag of 100ms, during which frame 2 creates a null array of 4 words for about 200000 times (filling the time lag)
the four words are : 16 bits value, channel value 8Bit, and a 2 bit strobe (10 or 11) on port 4.
in this test, i let fill the buffer for this time, check how much time it took, and only after that allow execution out.
the idea of the final code will be to send an undefined nb of elements at various time intervals, to fill the buffer online (regeneratively hopefully) as the execution is taking place. it would be possible if "buffer write" would be fast enough, and i would avoid creating big chuncks of memory , as well as saving on the overall run time (calculation + output execution would be almost parallel, with a short time lag).
if it works, i would just need to introduce some wait commands if buffer filling is faster than execution.
i think the main problem right now is that when i call "buffer write" it realocates memory for its array.
    Tell me what you think.
... And here's where I keep assorted lengths of wires...

  • CD Boot: memory overflow error! Trying to install Bootcamp / Windows 7 on MacBook Pro 2009 with external superdrive

    Hi all,
I'm trying to install Bootcamp on my machine.
I was running Parallels before but need Bootcamp in order to run heavy software on the PC side (e.g. Rhino/Maxwell/etc).
I have a Macbook Pro 17" from around 2009, running Mountain Lion 10.7.3.
Problem is, my internal CD Drive is broken and doesn't read discs, so it couldn't read the Windows installation disc (Windows Home Premium 7 64 bit - OEM System Builder Pack).
So, I rang Apple to try to fix it and they said it would be cheaper and faster to buy an external SuperDrive.
I explained that I wanted it to install bootcamp and they said, fine.
However when I bought the SuperDrive, it turns out its only supposed to be working with new Macbook Pro with Retina display, and other machines that don't have internal cd drives.
At first it didnt work, but then I found a helpful website which enabled it to work on my machine.
So I went ahead and started installing Windows through the BootCamp Assistant.
It partitioned my hard drive - success!
But then it turned into black screen, with message saying "CDBOOT: Memory overfloor error"
    Help please!!!
I suspect the problem is either:
    a) Old Macbook Pro can't boot from the Windows disk
    or
    b) The Windows OEM version is somehow not designed to work with Mac. I bought it secondhand off a guy, thinking it was the full version, silly thing to do!
Your thoughts and help is seriously appreciated!
Tomorrow I'm going to the Apple Store and also to buy a brand new copy of Windows, I guess.

This has been resolved. It turned out that in spite of the message at the end of installation - "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer restart the installation" Windows was installed successfully but the problem was the Bootcamp drivers, it could not read them(install them) from my original OSX Istall DVD and I thought that that the whole package was not installed successfully. I will copy the intructions here as well since this thread may attract lots of other people with similar problem who may think it was not a good installation. Here you go:
Ok, after 3 sleepness nights I have found a solution and finally have a working Windows 7 Ultimate. I hope this will be helpful for everyone having similar issues and not have to go through the same nightmare.
Right away after logging in Windows for the first time insert the original Snow Leopard Install DVD and if Windows does not read it or install any drivers after clicking on setup.exe do the following:
Right-click on Start » Programs » Accessories » Command Prompt
    Select Run as Administrator
Type cd /d D:, then press Enter
Type cd Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple, then press Enter
    Type BootCamp64.msi, then press Enter
If you do not how to right click before installing the drivers the following:
    Click on Start
Enter cmd in the search box
Instead of hitting the Enter key use Ctrl + Shift + Enter and will open a dialog box
Click Yes at the prompt and you will be running as an administrator.
If you do not have the original install DVD go the this link and follow the instructions(including the ones from the last comment):

No it is not necessary to sync buffers. It is done automatically. Sometimes it make some problems when the system is running on two or more application servers, but this is an exception.
Please keep in mind that if you executed an DML statement over SQLplus, you may need to execute /$sync command.

  • Memory overflow problems when processing huge XML files

    Hi All,
We are in need of processing very large XML file.(more than 100MB)..
We ran this job in background and it resulted in runtime errors.
Is there any way of processing this file as a whole?

Normally such memory problems can be avoided by using block processing and clearing tempory data inbetween the blocks. However all XML techniques that I know (DOM, XSLT, ST) require all data to reside in an internal table at once. I will be facing a similar problem soon, so I'm quite interested in a solution.
One way would be to upgrade the hardware and allow more memory to be allocated to the workprocess (system administration). Some background information:

I wonder if there are other workarounds, let's see if there will be additional replies.

  • Memory Overflow

    Good morning everyone ....
I have an application in labview 8.6 that every cycle is increasing the memory, even stopping the application memory is not deallocated. The only way is to kill the thread.
    What can be?
Have some way I veiricar which VI's that are causing this error?
    Thank you for your attention.

    Ok, thanks for the help.
I VI's that are getting variables for parameter passing, as I clean these variables after using the VI's?

  • Trying to clear an array of clusters with image info from memory - overflowing!

I am using a cluster with IMAQ interface name, session info, image array, and individual image and creating an array of that cluster. I try to clear the cluster by deleting the array elements, read an array of images, save them, and repeat the loop. Over time, though the arrays are tearing through all available RAM. I tried removing local variables (which I understand would save a copy of the entire array to memory every loop iteration) and had no luck - actually the code hangs now on the write function, where it thinks there is no image data. I didn't think I changed anything other than to direct wire where there had been local vars to pass information from one part of the sequence to the next. Help! (screenshots of code attached).

    Hi, Nasgul,
Not sure where you have resources leak - from your screenshots its not clear.
But one is clear - you may not understand that IMAQ Images in LabVIEW passed by references. So, if you want to create array of images, then for each element IMAQ Create should be called with different name, otherwise all elements referred to the same image. For example, if IMAQ Dispose will be called for the first elementh of the array, then other 9 images will be automatically invalid.
    Compare two code snippets below:
Common recipe for solving troubles with resources - reduce your application step by step by isolating parts of the code with case structures until application will be stable. Then you will found part of code which caused memory leak.
    best regards,
    Andrey.
