Menu Bar - Page #
Hello,
I am new to the captivate 3, thus, I am still learning the
functionality. I would like your assistance/tips on how I can add
Page # of # in the bottom of the menu bar (where the play/pause
buttons are located). I am reading the User Guide but I can't find
it. Please let me know.

Sorry for the lack of detail. You don't open the file. All
you do is drop the SWF widget onto the first slide, and set its
properties to "Display for..." the "Rest of Project". Having said
that, I guess there is a FLA file if you wish to see the code, but
it is certainly not necessary, as the published SWF is really all
that is needed.
Regards the widget, there are 2-3 different SWF files and the
differences are only cosmetic. Paul also has (I believe) a playback
control that incorporates the slide number into the playbar itself.
I just checked and Paul's site is down right now (it is early
morning in Liverpool) so perhaps he is doing some work on the
server. If you try and still can't find it, let us know.

Hi,
Please help me in the following scenerio.
I have menu bar with 3 menu items,
menuitem1
menuitem2
menuitem3
and 3 mxml files page1.mxml,page2.mxml,page3.mxml and main.mxml
In Main.mxml file displays menu bar with the menu items,
when i click on menuitem1 it displays page1.swf file, click on menuitem2 displays the page2.swf ....etc..
How can i acheive this in flex?

Auto Width Horizontal Menu Bar
I've browsed the forum to see if anyone else has had this
problem. I didn't find anything, so I apologize if this is a
repeat.
I'm having problems with long submenus that don't wrap. Right
now my submenus look like the second sample in the Auto Width
Horizontal Menu Bar page from Labs. I need them to look like the
last sample at the bottom of the page.

I've tried the suggestions in this page, but when I change
the ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul width to auto, it skews my submenus and
they stretch across the page instead of down in a list. And they
still have the extra white space. Any other suggestions?
I'm sorry, I can't provide a URL, but like I said, my menus
look like the samples in the Labs document.I have the same problem...

How do I use my index spry menu bar on my other pages?
I'm trying to use the same bar for all of my pages as on the index page, but not all of the information transfers, just some of it. The font and placement, for instance, are different when I try to copy and paste all of the code. However, if I try to start fresh with a new menu bar, it assumes the coloring, and some of the sizing, of my index page bar.
Hopefully the attached files will be enough. My website (obviously a work in progress) is www.uniquehomedesigns.net.

And cut it from your code. Then open a new document, delete ALL code from it, pastee the above into this new fileand call it menu.inc.php.
Then
In place of where you removed the code, put this
<?php include('menu.inc.php');?>
And you now have an include file that can be put into any new page. If you change this file, it will be changed on all pages that have it.
DO NOT put the js or the css in the new file, leave it where it is. You will have to include these files in any new pages, but you should look into using a template for that.

I cannot log onto the App Store, the page appears when I call it from the dock or the Apple menu and I can call the log-in box from the menu bar, but on signing in the spinning icon just keeps spinning,(not the beachball). Using 10.6.7 and up-to-date on all software. Any suggestions?
Could be a third party app preventing you from being able to login.
Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text
If it's not a third party issue, follow the instructions here.
Quit the MAS if it's open.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left then open the Library folder then the Caches folder.
Move the com.apple.appstore and the com.apple.storeagent files from the Caches folder to the Trash
From the same Library folder open the Preferences folder.
Move these files Preferences folder to the Trash: com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist
Same Library folder open the Cookies folder. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the MAS. -
This spring we changed from IE to Mozilla after upgrading to Win 7. Everything has been fine with Firefox until yesterday when it crashed when I attempted to open an email. Since then the bookmarks (or favorites as my husband calls them) have not been in their usual place which was along the left side of the page. They are located in the Bookmarks bar at the top of the page but husband prefers the old IE way which we had until yesterday PM. Is there any way that we can get them back to the left side of the page other than going back to IE? Now that I have gotten used to Firefox I like it just fine.

You can find toolbar buttons to open the bookmarks (star) and the history (clock) in the sidebar in the toolbar palette and drag them on a toolbar.<br />
Firefox 4 versions and later have two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.<br />
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu.<br />
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.<br />

How do I get my menu bar at the top of the page with no gaps?
How do I get my menu bar at the top of the page with no gaps? Whenever I move it there is a huge gap at the top of the page which I cant seem to get rid of, i posted about this before but none of the suggestions seemed to work for me. i'm not very good with css so im not really sure where to find the problem. There are generally gaps everywhere which looks at absolute mess, no clue how they got there and why, there is a huge gap underneath my menu bar too which wasnt there before. how do i get rid of this too? its probably some padding a or margin but no clue where.

How do I get banner & Spry Menu Bar to appear on every page?
Hi,
I am a new user of Dreamweaver CS6 an a relatively new user to website development in general.
I just followed along through Davide Powers "Creating your first website" tutorial series and found it to be very helpful. I made it through all six parts and managed to get the Check Magazine sample website up and running. I now want to use what I learned to creat my own site, and I am stuck already.
The tutorial does a great job of explaining how to setup a Spry Menu Bar to use for navigation. The tutorial, however, only shows how to put this Spry Menu Bar on the main index.html page. For my actual site, I would like my navigation bar (and my banner) to appear on every one of my pages.
Can anyone here tell me where I can find instructions on the best way to do this?
My navigation requirements are very simple. I just want a common banner with navigation buttons to appear at the top of every one of my pages. The Spry Menu Bar that was created in the tutorial would work great for me assuming I can find a relatively simple way to get it (along with my banner) to appear at the top of every one of my pages.
If it is very complicated to get it to appear on every page (or would require a large time investment in learning advanced techniques), then I would consider passing on the Spry Menu Bar and trying to setup my navigation in a simpler (if more old-fashioned) way.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

PaulIf a small, 4-5 page site, make a prototype page with all your columns, headers, footers, menus, etc... and go to File > SaveAs index.html, and then File > SaveAs > page1.html, and then File > SaveAs page2.html, etc...
Or you can save your prototype page as a Dreamweaver Template (.dwt file). Add editable regions for stuff that will change from page to page. Everything outside editable regions is common to all site pages. Then use your Template to spawn site pages. File > New > Page from Template, index.html, page1.html, page2.html, etc.... DW Templates are nice site management tool. But before you use them, read all you can about them in F1 Help as they can be a little tricky to master.
Last but not least, look at Server-Side Includes. They're a huge time saving feature. I use them on every site I build.

When I go to a web page, that page appears upper left, filling only half of my screen top and bottom. Each time I have to go to the menu bar View and go to full page. How can I get the web pages to display in the full screen automatically??? This just started happening.

I am experiencing difficulty with iPhoto '11. Some of more recent photos can not be accessed. As I scroll down the page of photos, the most recent ones appear briefly, then disappear to be replaced with a box outlined by a broken-line. The menu bar says that I have 317 photos hidden. Hiding photos is not something that I normally do, can't imagine why these are hidden. Anyway, when I try to unhide the photos, I can view them as an event, but if I click on a single photo, or try to move it into an album, the photo does not display. Instead I get a dark exclamation point within a triangle. Another problem with these same photos is on the event page there is no key photo for these events only a dark screen. I can't find an answer to my problem. Has anyone experienced this? What is the problem and how can I correct it?
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

How do I move the home page button back to the left side of the menu bar?
When I installed Firefox 4.0, the home page button "moved" to the right top of the menu bar. It was at the top left in the previous versions of Firefox. I want to put it back on the left. I use a desktop Mac Pro with Mac OS 10.5.8.

When I open Firefox, the bookmark menu is a little tab in the upper left corner. If I go to view and un-click bookmark menu and then view, click it, the standard menu bar shows up. The Back and Forward buttons don't work. The navigation window does not show the URL of the current page. When opening, the home page does not come up. The wheel click works on the bookmark bar, but not within a page. The menu (file, edit, etc) does not work after the first page. Version 8 worked well. When I upgraded to version 9, all this trouble started. I backed up to version 8, but the problem persists.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

How to show active page in Spry Menu Bar using images
Hi,
I have already read this answer "how to show active page in spry menu bar" but I am using images, not text. I have mouse-over and mouse-out working in the Spry Menu Bar using image.png and image-over.png, but I cant' figure out how to get the image-over.png to appear on the active page since the spry menu bar is locked on the individual pages. (I tried to put it in an editable comment, but spry wouldn't go for it. :-)
Any ideas. Here is the code:

Please help, I've been working on this one all morning. I upgraded to Pro, it's worked fine for a long time. Now I open the player and a window flashes for a second with either loading.... or switching... then a minimized Apple QuickTime appears on t
