Menus.xml error on startup

I'm have installed Dreamweaver CS3 and i keep getting a
menus.xml error. I ha've renamed the menus.bak files to menus.xml
as stated and have even reinstalled a couple of times after
removing the files manual as well. I am getting quite desparate so
any ideas would be most appreciated.

What extensions have you installed? This error is typically
associated with
installation of a non-DWCS3-compatible extension.

  • CS4 menus.xml error?

    Hello!
I just installed Dreamweaver CS4 on my Mac, but whenever I
launch the application I get an error that tells me Dreamweaver has
encountered an error, when accessing the menus.xml file. It then
recommends that I delete the current menus.xml file and rename
    "menus.bak" as menus.xml.
After doing this several times, uninstalling and reinstalling
Dreamweaver, I still cannot launch the application. Any
    suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • XML errors on startup - how fix?

I've been trying to isolate system slow downs and errors and one thing that comes up frequently are problems associated with XML. Samples are:
2/14/08 7:29:20 AM mdworker[83] CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): Old-style plist parser: missing semicolon in dictionary.
Is there any way I can fix this issue? I've run all the usual fix permissions and DiskWarrior tests. I can't seem to isolate this in relation to any specific application.

Either a system or a software update fixed this. Not sure what or which.

  • Menus.xml issue

I'm trying to install Dreamweaver and i keep getting
menus.xml errors i've renamed the .bak files to menus.xml
reinstalled a ews times and redownloaded. I'm lost now any
    ideas?

Has anyone posted a resolution to this problem yet? I
downloaded the trial installation file from the adobe.com website.
After installing only Dreamweaver CS3 to my system, I got the error
"Dreamweaver encountered problems while constructing the menus from
the current menus.xml file. Please delete the current menus.xml
file and rename menus.bak to menus.xml."
I've done that several times and get the exact same error. I
installed Dreamweaver CS3 on a different computer using the same
installation file and it works perfectly fine. So I copied the
Dreamweaver directory from that computer and replaced the
malfunctioning directory with the functioning one, but that didn't
    fix the error either.
Any assistance in this would be greatly appreciated in this
as our company is looking to purchase this product although not
being able to get it to work does pose a problem.
    Thank you

  • JavaScript error in menus.xml

I'm working with DW 8, and some template files created in DW
MX2004.Has anyone experienced the following error when closing old
    template files?
While executing DWMenu_File_Close command in menus.xml, the
    following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
    Exception thrown in native function.
I've gotten a similar error before, but it had to do with
imbedding library items inside template pages. But, all of those
had been created in DW MX2004. Any ideas?

You can find anything you want on these forums or on the
    internet. The
question is - is it credible. This one is not.
What extensions do you have installed?

  • Errors in Startup of weblogic

    Hello,
Please note, I could not fit the entire post in one entry...had to do it in 3
I am getting numerous errors on startup of the weblogic server. Given that I followed the instructions to a T (Quick Start Guide for Oracle® SOA Suite 11gR1 (11.1.1.5.0)) . I am on windows 7.
(and even installed and re-installed weblogic several times), and re-created the domains it is just a little frustrating that SOA doesn't work right out of the box.
Near the end of the log file it does say
SOA Platform is running and accepting requests
    However, just below it says:

    line 3:12 mismatched character '<EOF>' expecting '"'
And above throughout there are a huge number of warnings.

hi iam trying to get the data into spry table(Dr-cs3) from xml file and iam using spry xml dataset.  my application is working in every browser except in IE.
    ERROR IS :
Exception caught while loading menus.xml: TypeError: Access is denied.

    Hi
this error is because of spryData.js, spryXapth.js generated by Dr CS3, I used Dr CS4 generated javascript files, then the same application is working.

  • Menus.xml issue when trying to launch Dreamweaver CS4

I have used Dreamweaver CS4 for many years on my Mac. I had a drive failure and have had to reload all of my applications from scratch as there seemed to be an issue with the Time Machine back up. Everything is working well apart from Dreamweaver CS4 which brings up an error message telling me to delete my menus.xml file and rename menus.bak to menus.xml which just doesn't work.
I have checked and this has been asked before but none of the previous answers that I could find will work for me. Any new ideas?

One issue appears to be that Dreamweaver has loaded the help and configurations files into a folder in applications rather than in application support. I do not have a Dreamweaver CS4 folder anywhere in applications support under my identity or than of the loacl admin.
You need to turn on your hidden folders to see it.

  • Dreamweaver encountered problems while constructing the menus from the current menus.xml file

So, after having trouble with my Photoshop scratch disk, I had to do an archive and install of my Mac OS 10.6.1 then reinstall the Adobe suite. I then had to run the Licensing Repair Tool (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/licensing.html).
Now everything works but Dreamweaver, which is throwing the following error:
"Dreamweaver encountered problems while constructing the menus from the current menus.xml file.
Please delete the current menus.xml file and rename menus.bak to menus.xml"
I tried that. menus.bak is a directory, not a file. Even renaming the directory didn't work.
    I saw this http://forums.adobe.com/message/2188511#2188511
but I don't have a /FlashPlayerTrust/ directory, nor do I see what that has to do with Dreamweaver.
I couldn't find a corresponding solution for this http://forums.adobe.com/message/862339#862339 for the Mac OS.
    This http://forums.adobe.com/message/3396334#3396334 didn't help, either.
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks!

This is the error I got after deleting (moving) the configuration directory.
"No document types have been found in the Configuration/DocumentTypes/ folder. The MMDocumentTypes.xml file may be missing or corrupted. The application will exit now."
I've reinstalled the entire Adobe CS4 (which fixed my Photoshop problem but created this Dreamweaver problem) and then reinstalled Dreamweaver alone.
I've also attached a screenshot of the Dreamweaver directory tree with the menus.xml files.

i always get fan error at startup in my  ibm thinkpad t42 since 1 week. i press esc key at error and that is the only way my system startup. its not in warranty and will like to try to fix it on my own. please help. i am worried

Try bblowing some air into the fan lover when the system is off. Then turn the system on and put your hand at the louver to see if it blows air. If this doesnt work, run PC doctor for DOS ( available at  http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-56222) and check the problem. If this doesnt work either, replace the fan.

I installed a Feb version of itunes (7.6.1.9) because I was not willing to waste any more time. **Make sure that you deselect the 3rd checkbox that says it will update other Apple software (incl QT). That was the mistake made over and over and over (and over)!

  • HP P6203W CPU fan error on startup windows 7 32bit system

    Hi there guys !
I got this HP computer for about a year now and since changing my broken CPU fan i got a CPU fan error on startup.
    I have got a HP P6203W
    MOBO: Pegatron Narra5
    Bios: phoenix technologies 5.55 12/08/2009
I wanted to reduce some noise from my computer by replacing the CPU fan,
so i changed the original fan for a Noiseblocker-Multiframe M8-S1.
Now when i start up the computer; the fan slowly turns around , and i then got an CPU fan error before windows fired up. I can get past it by pressing F2 but its annoying to do so every time i start up. Plus I don't think the fan is turning fast enough.
I already tried checking cpu fan settings in the bios, but i have the blocked bios.
    No fan settings here.
Do one of you guys have any clue about how to get my CPU fan working properly again or maybe a bios update for my motherboard ?
Any help would be very much appreciated !
    thanks for your time

    Hello willibrord87,
There isn't a BIOS update available for your motherboard so that is not going to be an option.
On some BIOS you have the ability to disable the system from checking the CPU Fan to avoid the error. If it's there it would be under Advanced menu and then a sub menu called Hardware Monitor. HP like many manufacturers lock out settings to avoid users changing settings to much in the BIOS so the system may not have the option. Since you said you already checked the settings I'm assuming we can skip this.
So it brings us to the motherboard. The CPU fan plug on the motherboard is a 12v connector, the Noiseblocker you have starts a slow ramp up based on this link http://goo.gl/6jsgn it says it's a start voltage of only 5v. I'm thinking that since the CPU fan is not starting up quick enough the motherboard is failing out and giving the CPU fan error. In the end the error is not a real error because once the CPU fan actually works then it's good to go.
You may want to try a different CPU fan that has a quicker spin up, or at least move that CPU fan to another system to see if it exhibits the same slow spin up.

  • Character set error during startup

    Hi all
This is a follow up of the following problem: Paralel Install of Ora8i and Ora9i
    Please read it before continue.
This seems to be a database problem, so that I post it here:
I'm going forward with my problem. It seems that's a problem with versions in the startup routine. When I try to start the instances with the 9i dbstart tool, all is going well.
Now I changed the oracle script in /etc/init.d in a was that it will explicitly start the 9i dbstart tool. Now the instances come up normally, except the following error during mount of the instance:
ORA-12709: error while loading create database character set.
For me it looks like an mistaken during the creation of the database. Or perhaps its again a version problem.
    Any clue around for this?
    Greetings
    Salvatore

    Ok Here the answers:
    1) Error during startup
    2) Error during startup
    3) Error during startup
The Oracle Environment seems to be OK. I can use all variables in the oracle script during OS boot.
I suspect that something is going wrong during the database creation. But in the Oracle Error Message Documentation I read "contact Support Services". So I'm unsure what to do. AFAIK we don't have a support contract, nor I can use any paid service.
