Message Column in Individual Approval View of Manager- What data is shown??
Hello Guru's,
We have implemented Time Management, and in that Manager can approve the record working times.
In that we have Individual Approval views and in that table we have Message Column.
My question is :
What for we use the Message Column, since in our landscape we don't see any data.
Please help me what data is showed and why is it not populating in our case.
Thanks,
Pramod
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
But what we observed is that message column in both collective approval and individual approval screen are not working the same way.
As you said the message column is used for showing the status or warning message.
But the problem is as said before the message column is in addition.
To be more clear In record working time when an employee records the time in the Day view in the details he/she have option to give some notes. That notes is shown in Individual view but the message column in Manager individual approval screen is blank
In the collective approval screen the message column we are using to show the manager whether he/she entered entered more hours than planned hours.
Any Other inputs are appreciated.
Thanks,
Pramod

Where to find "Define field selection for Individual approval view" in ECC5
Hi,
I'm trying to find where I can configure the columns for the managers approval view in the backend in ECC5.
Time sheet>Setting for all user interfaces>Approval procedure>Approve working times> Define field selection for Individual approval view, doesn't appear to exist.
Any help appreciated.
RobRob,
Try this:
IMG->Integration with Other mySAP.Com Components->Business Packages/Functional Packages->Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP)->Working Time->Approve Working Time->Define Field Selection from Individual Approval View
Alternatively use SM34 and go to view cluster VC_PT_FIELD_SELECTION and enter the screen area as CTS.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Adding a column in the MSS Approval view
What are the options for adding a column in the MSS approval view (CATS regular) ?
there are lot of colums available in cats customisation for this
Please check
In the IMG (transaction SPRO), go to
- SAP Customizing Implementation Guide
- Cross-Application Components
- Time Sheet
- Specific Setting for CATS regular
- CATS regular
- Approve Working Time
- Define Field Selection for Individual Approval View
- Define Field Selection for Detail View
Here you can assign lot of columns to your profile
which is easily customisable -
MSS Approve Working Times - Collective Approval view changes
Hello,
We are implementing EP 7.0, ERP2005 (ECC 6.0) SP07, ESS (MySAP ERP) 1.0.
I have successfully configured the Individual Approval screen and the Detail Screen using SPRO to add and remove columns as per my client's requirements. However, I see no way to configure the Collective Approval view in a similar fashion.
The objective is to have similar columns display in the Time Sheet, the Collective Approval view, and the Individual Approval view.
Thanks in advance.

Working of Individual Timesheet approval view in MSS
can any one tell what happens(how it works) when a manager selects "Reject " from drop down and press the transfer button in Individual timesheet approval view.
problem is : i have sorted the data based on A/A type Text. suppose that the data before sorting is 4,1,4 after sorting the data is 4,4,1. when i select reject for first two entries 4,4(sorted data) and press transfer it will go to collective approval view. then choose review. in this screen it showing the rejected times as 4,1(which is the previous data) rather than 4,4.
the summary is it is taking only previous data eventhough we have sorted it.
any help will be greatly appreciated. You can select individually and those records which are selected as rejected will be rejected in the final screen
In individual approval you set the status approve, resubmit or reject! These are different statuses we need to use -
Approval view for working time empty fields 'message' and 'standard time'
Hi experts,
We want to use the SAP-standard program to approve working hours in the Portal. The basic settings are all done, but we still have a problem with some fields.
When we use the SAP-standard approval view SAP_LINE (IMG --> Define approval views) and we go to the portal we see that the fields 'message' and 'standard time' are filled and the hours with a warning are red. When we create an exact copy of view SAP_LINE with the same detailscreen selections, the fields 'message' and 'standard time' are empty and the warning does not turn red.
See the print screen below for an example.
http://img641.imageshack.us/i/printscreenapproveworki.jpg/
Can someone please help me with this?
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
BobHi,
We have found the place to change this fields.
To change this fields we had to create an enhancement implementation for BADI definition 'HRCATS_APPR_CUST'
Information for this can also be found in the IMG documentation. -

Cant understand TIME_WAITED column in v$system_event view
Hi,
I am new to database, I suppose to see the performance of database,
so i use to execute the below query for wait events.
I have created the scenario by creating only one lock in one table in my testing database which has nobody can access except myself. And executing the query ...
Select Event, Total_waits,Time_waited from v$system_event;
EVENT TOTAL_WAITS TIME_WAITED
enq: TX - row lock contention 1381 414157
row cache lock 13 0
library cache lock 2 178
library cache load lock 17 407
enq: JS - queue lock 1 116
i am tracking the "enq: TX - row lock contention" wait event which i have created by lock. Continuously i executing the above query 4 or 5 times.
I understand the value of TIME_WAITED is increasing because i haven't release the lock, but the TOTAL_WAITS column value also increasing by few seconds which i cant understand.
Can anybody explain in what TIME_WAITED column mean and why it is increasing for a single lock and what time interval it use to increase for single lock.
Thanks in advance.I think that you are getting confused because the view V$system_event is for the entire system. If you are willing to check a event for a specific session, you should use V$session_event . I have got the same thing done and got the session hanging. The time_waited would increase for sure but the number of waits wont for a session.

Dynamically Hiding Column in a Table View in VC Model
How to dynamacally hide the columns in a table view in a VC model. Through the expression in Control Property, Form element/field or table view as a whole can be made hidden, however, the individual column can not seem to be hidden.
I am using VC server version 700.8.0.1.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind Regards
SanjoyIn this scenario, if the source is SAP BI, you can use the webapi commands. If not, you would have to have 2 separate tables in different layers and you can show and hide those layers or UI elements...

How can I add a new message(custom text message) to the holiday approval em
How can I add a new message(custom text message) to the holiday approval email-notification sent to the manager?
TIAThe answer is 'not very easily', unless the information you want to display is the employee's leave balances. In 12.1.3 Oracle have delivered functionality that allows you to include the leave balances in the approval notifications out-the-box, ie, without customization.
For any other information you're probably going to have to customize the standard delivered HRSSA workflow. Within this workflow, the Leave of Absence functionality uses the Notify Approver (Embedded) (HR_APPROVER_NTF) notification. The body of this notification is set to the Notify Approver (Embedded) (HR_NTF_EMBEDDED_REGION) attribute. This in turn defaults to:
JSP:/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?OAFunc=-&HR_EMBEDDED_REGION-&NtfId=-&#NID-
So essentially you can change the HR_APPROVER_NTF notification. The problem with changing this notification is that it's generic - it's used for all SSHR functions and not just Leave of Absence. That means you have to make other, more substantial, customizations to the workflow to ensure the changes you make only applies to LOA.
The other option is to personalize the review page (ie, the region referenced in &HR_EMBEDDED_REGION) to include whatever messages you want. But that means they'll appear on the Review page and all LOA approval notifications and that might not be what you want.
It's usually better to live with what Oracle deliver and find an alternative solution! What's the content of the message you want to include? -
No data for Parent-child hierarchy column in Pivot table view
Hi all,
I used OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 Version.
I drag one Parent-child hierarchy column and one measure and show result with a pivot table view.
But when I click "+" icon to show detail level data,
It messaged that: "*the layout of this view combined with the data, selections, drills,or prompt values chosen resulted in no data*."
But it can show every-level data when I used table view.
It was so strange..
Did anybody meet this before?
Thanks in advance.
regards,
AnneHi,
Yes, I have the same problem with pivot table for hierarchy dimension.
If you use a normal table (not pivot) it seem to work. Unfortunatley with restrictions as normal table view have.
Same problem still exist in 11.1.1.6.5
I have logged a SR to Oracle about this. -

Edited by: constantine reif on Sep 28, 2009 6:24 PMHi,
This bug is fixed in SP09 patch 1. This happens because you assigned process control items to roles which are not available anymore. For example, the role doesn't exist anymore because the action in the underlying block was deleted.
The work around is to recreate the process object and to insert the blocks again.
Hope this helps. -
How to have individual folder view?
Hello,
I would like the folders in OSX to remember individually the view, whether it is list, column or cover flow.
E.g. I would like to view my pictures folder always in coverflow whereas my music folder should always display in list view.
How can I do that?In the window you want to change set up your view, then press COMMAND-J. Check the box to always open in that view (top of the dialog.)

Sort of field Approval in MSS Approval time by manager
Hello Experts,
When I use the Time approval by the manager in MSS, in the approval field I can choose from Approve (all), Reject (all) or Resubmit (all). Standard the screen opens with Approve (all). Does anyone know if this order can be changed and that the screen starts with Resubmit all?
Regards,
RudiWell this will require both the front end and backend changes
The RFC Function Module called is HRMSS_CAT_WD_APPROVAL. I believe
values for the approval column are either fetched from backend

Sorting feature for columns in time approval screen - MSS
Hi ,
In the portal for MSS , while on the 'Approve Time Sheet Data' , how can we provide sorting for the different columns ? As of now , the sort is only available on the Employee column .We want to provide the same on the Att/Abs type column too.Is this achievable through personalization in the portal or handled through some code ? Kindly suggest. Thanks in advance.CATS_APPR_PERSP
Here you define the approval views
In the first case it can determined by period, in case
you dont use period then collective approval criteria.
can be used for grouping
Example period
Period Type
Specifies the period for which the recorded data
is to be grouped in one line of the collective approval.
Please check the IMG for cross application components and Approve working time
