Messages are Holding in message monitoring tool

Hi All,
I am facing the problem with messages which are in holding state.
My scenario is file to proxy. The file content contains of EDI. my scenario is already gone to production last year.
and its working fine. Used java mappings for validation of EDI file. its running successfully.
where as in Dev system till october first i used to load the files in FTP inbox folder and messages were processed successfully.
But from october first week when i load the files in FTP inbox, file has been picking succesfully and can see the logs in sender comm channel but the i can see that my interface is in holding state in message monitoring tool and its not going to receiver comm channel. I have loaded 5 files and all are in holding state.
even i have cancelled first error message and tried to resend the next message swhich is in holding state, but this is not happening.
i am using EOIO queue.
when i cancel the error message remaining messages should processed automatically but its not getting processed here.
sequencing of the interface triggering is
1. Interface_1
2. Interface_2
3. Interface_3
4. Interface_4
Here i am stucking up with the first interface itself.Here only first interface is in holding state.
can any one advise what could be the problem..

Hi Abhijit,
Even after unchecking the checkbox maintain order at runtime, its not working.
i think there is no disturbed in message processing sequence.
my first sender interface itself going into hold state.
i have cancelled the hold message, even after that remaining messages are processing automatically.
and also i could not fine any messages in SMQ1 and SMQ2.
I also deresister and registered te queues and activated.
Kindly advise what would be the problem..
in production its working fine and development its not working fine.

Hi,
I am facing a problem with Messages recieved by SOAP Adapter. I am using Aynchronous call and message split. The scenario is Proxy to SOAP receiver.
There 5 messages calling WebServices at the same time. there are no errors in MONI.
In RWB, I can see three messages are processed successfully and Two message are in HOLD status.
I am searched in forums and notes are talking about EOIO.This means the SOAP receiver put the messages in EOIO. Because we nowhere specify in receiver EO or EOIO.
Hope message split is not a problem. I am using PI 7.0 SP 13.

Atleast my scenarios are not going to HOLD. The all new messages flowing now.
Still, i have to check how to restart my old hold messages, i am gettting exceptions for this.
One more problem is the messages are not in order, i am expecting one message to execute before that other one. the messages are generated from message split and hitting all my SOAP receiver adapter...
My interface deterimination already specified " maintain order at runtime"
It looks it is maintaining order in integration server, but adapter engine processining in its own way.
Is there anything i have to do here.

Messages on Holding at Message Monitoring under Runtime Workbench

Hello Colleagues,
we have currently the problem that a lot of messages for some interfaces are in status Holding under Message Monitoring at Runtime Workbench for PI 7.1.
I'm not able to resend the messages with status Holding as well as change status to cancel.
Quality of Service for the Interfaces are Exactly Once in Order.
I assume an error message blocks the queue and due to the fact we have Exactly Once in Order configured all following messages be in status Holding.
Is my assumption right?
But, I am not abel to find any messages in status error with blocks the queue!
How can I solve that issue?

AE should have least number of EOIO messages at a given instance...otherwise Holding is what you get.....and holding is common with EOIO....so see if you can chagne the QoS of some messages to EO
But, I am not abel to find any messages in status error with blocks the queue!
Never you will get an error in SXMB_MONI....or the queue blocked....
When your message goes out of IE...the corresposding message entry is marked with chequered flag...observe in MONI you will see this....however in AE the message can fail if not able to send to the target system....

All messages on hold in message monitoring

Hi,
If all of sudden (SOAP to idoc) ..for all the messages in message monitoring is on HOLDING status for all the interfaces.
These interfaces were working fine earlier.
In adapter monitoring , adapters are fine.
i could not see anything SMq transaction also.
what are the possiblities to cause this kind of error?

It is exactly once in Order.
This is really useful info which u send.
I could not find conversion id and sequential number as stefan mentioned in that blog in my message monitoring in config. table columns(in extended filter criteria)
But already i tried to cancel the those messages as well as resend but i could not do.
I guess my user do not have access to that.
Any other inputs/useful blogs?

In Message Monitoring Message showing holding status

Can anyone solve this problem.Its urgent for me.
My scenario is IDoc->XI->FILE
The file i am trying to generate is an xml file which i am dropping in XI application server using File system.
The problem is when i am going to see the message using transaction SXMB_MONI the perticular message interface is showing waiting for acknowladgement status .
But in message monitoring in runtime workbench the it is showing following status:

HOLDING is a status which occurs normally for EOIO (Exactly Once In Order), so your message is set to Holding means some earlier message has not gone through. So until those messages are through this message will be in HOLDING state.

How to create a navigateable messages for SALV in FPM message area

We have some problems raising messages for errors in a ALV table. Messages reported by the ALV table itself (like a character entered in a number field) are displayed in the FPM message area and the message is mapped to the field causing the error (navigation link). When we try to raise an own message out of the application controller of our building block which carries the ALV, we didnu2019t manage to have the mapping between the error message and the ALV-field.
We already tried several versions of calling the message method (using the elements of the context of the calling application as well as the context of the mapped ALV compontent):

Just to clarify, what I am having trouble with is finding where exactly to plug in the name of the plant to be filtered? If using a message type such as MATMAS in a distribution model, it is very straight forward to navigate down from the 'Data filter active', and assign a value to whatever field you wish to filter via the 'List of Values'. But in this example, message type QPMK required use of the BAPI MasterInspectionChar, and therefore the different method in creating the filter.
I cannot find similar functionality when navigating the BAPI related row, for MasterInspectionChar. The 'Change Filter' dialog popup displays a row for 'Container' and then 3 more rows containing 'BAPI structure...'.   Clicking the 'Attribute' checkbox on any of these rows sets 'Data filter active' as a node under the BAPI. Double clicking the 'Data filter active' brings me back into the same dialog, and selecting any row with an attempt at this point to create a filter results in the 'Select node: content-dependent parameter filtering' warning. Is this warning occuring because of missing configuration?

Null Pointer Exception in Message Area

I just want to get some inputs. I have this Message Area to display errors in Web Dynpro, but from time to time I get this Null Pointer Exception when an event takes place. Don't know why this happens, but the trace is not found my code.

Here two possibility
1. This is the case when we get something as return form the BAPI/RFC and want to display in our message area but return message itself is null like this statement

Message Area shows message from previous BAPI call

Hi fellow Visual Composer Developers, I am 2 weeks into trying to get to grips with VC, I have managed to model some simple Iviews and all is good, I am encoutering the following issue. When I call a BAPI in the backend R/3 system any messages that are issued are shown in the message area which is fine, but if I invoke a new call then the message area shows the message from the earlier call, In ABAP this would be resolved by clearing the RETURN structure of the BAPI, how can this be accomplished via VC, I have tried calling a bespoke BAPI which clears the RETURN structure but the message store seems to be at the VC end ..
Can anyone shed any light on this problem

It seems I was unable to reproduce this problem. I tried two scenarios:
1. the 2nd call is to the same service
2. the 2nd call is to another service
In both cases the messages from the 1st service call are cleared in case messages are not due.
If you still have this problem I would recommend opening a ticket, so this can be further investigated.
*which Visual Composer version are you using (major & SP)?

Defaulting messages to a particular message area

Hi All,
I have two applications running on same screen, One at top and another one just below it . Both have their own message area. When applications are run individually, messages are getting shown in their respective message area. However on screen (when both are on same screen) messages of second application which is at bottom are not shown at correct place. They are getting displayed at the top of the view. How can I default the messages to a particular message area so that messages are shown in correct place.

You cannot use two message area in the same view. you need to do workarround.

Clear Message area.

Hi everyone,
I have created a 2 tabs, in that i have inserted message area. The message will display in that message area. when i try to navigate between the tabs, the message of first tab will display in second tab also and viceversa..
I have to avoid it. Can anyone please explain me this.??

Server monitor tools to use on OS 10.8 for monitoring 10.5 server?

Are there Apple server monitor tools that I can use on OS 10.8 to monitor my OS 10.5 server?
I used to have tools on my 10.6 machine, but now I upgraded to 10.8 and can't find the tools anywhere.

i got a way to open the Server Monitor App on 10.8.4
take the version from Server Admin Tool 10.7.5
then open the app with ctrl-klick > watch package content > go to the folder MacOS
here is the main application drag & drop this on the terminal or symply doubleklick
now make an alias to your desktop
it really works :-) i don't know why apple this has discontinued

I have installed 2 Core Switches and 9 Access Switches (4960-X,3560-X and 2960-X) in our organisation. Now we are looking for a Monitoring tool.
To monitor the Traffic status, Link status, Quarterly Health Check, etc. for all the switches on a single page.
Can anyone please suggest which Cisco Monitoring Tool will suite our requirement.

Are you looking only to monitor Cisco devices or other devices as well? There are other tools available also so it depends on your environment, budget etc.

2009-02-10 21:41:31 Success The message was successfully retrieved from the receive queue.
2009-02-10 21:41:31 Success The message status set to HOLD.

i ve got the same problem .
I m using the message monitor in order to find the first message in error in this queue and so to be able to free the queue.
My problem is how to detect these holding messages.
As the error is in the Adapter Engine , you cant see it in sxmb_moni transaction
In the message monitoring, you can check it manually.
I need to have an automatic report of 'holding messages".
I try to connect the Adapter engine alert to the ccms. The problem is that autoreaction alert arent possible in this case.
Any body found the means to check directly in the database with sql-based command the status of message ?
