Messages from Adapter framework to IS disappear

During processing of interfaces, it happens some times that the sending of messages from Adapter Framework to Integration Server is broken but no status message is traced. Before this break, the messages state is correctly visible on integration server (SXMB_MONI), after that, messages are no more contained in persistence layer of the adapter framework or of the integration server. So its very difficult to know which messages have been processed, and for this reason there is a great effort for application/functional team to reprocess interfaces file.
After the last succesfully processed message, there are a lot of log messages on application and default trace of this type:

This behavior is independent of interface type and happens randomly (about 2-3 times a week).
We try, without success, to implement a workaround setting SLDaccess parameter to false for AF CPA cache service and specifying the xiadapter.isconfig.<parameters> for adapter service. With this configuration File Adapter didnt work and CPA cache didnt contain any comunicaton channels. Maybe we have to set the correct value of parameter directoryURL (which it is?).

Message status "Holding" - Message monitoring adapter framework

Hello,
We have some messages with the status "Holding" in a queue in the message monitoring in the adapter framework.
Normally you have to restart the first message of that queue. The message with the status "system error". Unfortunately this message is not available anymore because it is older than 30 days and the retetion period is 30 days.

The blog does not mention what to do when the first message (sequential number) is not available anymore.
Is it possible to restart the messages in the queue in that case?

Unfortunately this message is not available anymore because it is older than 30 days and the retetion period is 30 days.
I assume that the message was deleted.....in this case the next message in the queue will be blocking the queue....so try resending this message....even the blog mentions that you either solve the error or cancel the message....so now start from the second message....if possible solve the error for this message....if not possible to resolve then cancel it so that rest of the queue gets processed

resend or cancel the message to release the queue.

Alerts not getting triggered from Adapter Framework

Hi,
I have done the following steps for the Alerting:-
1. In configuration of RWB, activated monitoring for XI integration server & XIAdapterFramework and set the monitoring level to 'HIGH'.
2. Scheduled the Report 'SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET' on ABAP stack.
3. In the 'further settings' link in End-to-End monitoring, activated the monitoring and set the frequency.
4.Created an alert category using t-code 'ALRTCATDEF' and assigned fixed users(myself) to it.
5.Defined an alert rule with '*' in all conditions and 'No restrictions' for the question 'Where did the error occur'.
Finally after all the steps:-
I am able to receive the alerts in the inbox -
a) by running the test report 'RSALERTTEST'
b) from a control step in BPM.
However, alerts are not getting triggered for an error in the Adapter Framework. (an exception in the Adapter Channel)
When i debugged the SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET report, there was step where it was looking for process instances in table 'SSPICSPRHD' which was empty and the alert error log said -
 No process instances found for process type ID: 26460B43EB934C4C9ABBE9627380A89E ( XIDomain: domain.00.hqdvsapxi01 )
Any help/hint is welcome !!!

If I delete one message from my inbox they all disappear -why & how do I retrieve them?

Twice this week I have deleted a message from my inbox, using the edit button & then highlighting the message to delete, then pressing the delete button at the bottom of the page & ALL my emails in my inbox disappear! Where are they & how can I retrieve them?

Persistence of synchronous messages in adapter framework

Hello experts,
When i go to RWB -> message monitoring -> adapter engine -> Database, the synchronous messages are persisted for only one hour. Is there a way to customize it?

The Adapter Engine doesn`t persist synchronous messages in PI 71. It is not a matter of configuration.
It keeps in memory the last 1000 (configurable) messages.

Why were no attributes in the Error received from Adapter Framework (AF)?

Hi All,
We have a local processing scenario where we use the Integration Configuration through Advanced Adapter Engine to download attachment using Sender Mail Adapter from Lotus Notes Mail and Upload the file attachment into an FTP using Receiver File Adapter. As part of our testing we deliberately set the Sender Mail Adapter to produce error by changing the configuration like setting a wrong URL to simulate downtime on Lotus Notes. The error shows up in the RWB CommChannel and an error record is received from AF to send Alert. When the alert tries to find the alert rule it is unable to do so because the condition (Component, Interface and Namespace) values are empty "*Find rule for (From:::: To::::)" This is from the report SXMSALERT_LOGREADER.
The (From:::: To::::) should contain the Sender Component, Interface and Namespace as FROM, and Receiver Component, Interface and Namespace as TO but they are not picked up from the Mail Adapter because there are no message/payload yet but I am expecting at least the Component to be included.
The result of the empty (From:::: To::::) will be a "*No matching rule found" and no alert is sent.
Do anyone had the same issue? Is this a possible bug in PI?

Hi Orlando,
When the sender channel reads any message, it would be able to determine the Sender service, Interface and namespace from Sender agreement. It is not dependent on the payload.
To generate the alert for such, you can modify the alert rule to check only for the Sender serice, interface and namespace.

Problem posting message from adapter engine to IS

Hello,
We experience the next problem. We use JMS sender adapter to post message into XI. Message comes into the adapter engine and tries to post it into integration server. http://<host>:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
When posting we get the (very generic) error:
Received HTTP response code 500..
The Adapter engine does a retry every 5 minutes.
After the 3th retry most of the status of the message in the adapter engine is set to NON_DELIVERED.
However for what ever reason sometimes the 2nd or 3th time the message does get processed to the IS.
Is there anyone who experienced similar problems or does anyone know a solution for this.

Exporting processed messages from adapter engine monitoring to excel

Hey experts,
I have some messages that are processed successfully. I can see them in the message monitoring for adapter engine in the RWB. I want to know if there is a way to export these messages to excel file.
Also we have a files archived by PI with a .001 extension attached to them. Is there a way to open these files and look at the processed messages?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think so.But you can right click.Select View Source.And then save the message in a notepad.

I don't get this! You can open these files by doing a right click.Open with wordpad.

How to give two Input File from Adapter Framework to EJB Modules

i'm using one EJB Module in SAP XI, which converts EDI file
format to XML file format. But now i'm facing a problem, that is,
in SAP XI we can able to give one file as an Input at a time, but
in my case it is <input_file_name>.edi, but my issue is i need
to refer another file also, if it is possible.?

Alerts from the Adapter Framework

Hello,
I have configured the CCMS to monitor XI message processing. For the Integration Server that works fine. But for the Adapter Framework I don't receive any alerts. I use the CIDX Adapter and I would like to receive an alert, when a RAE has been received or when an RA is overdue. Has anybody an idea if this is possible?

We are on XI 3.0 SP9 and are not receiving email alerts when the J2EE adapters fail in the RWB. We only receive email alerts when messages fail in the ABAP integration server.
Are you implying, from your previous post, that alert configuration in the RWB, although available before SP11, will only trigger alerts from adapter framework errors at SP11 level or higher?

Messages stuck in queue AFWRecv of Adapter Framework in our production system(trace in RWB: "to be delivered")

Hi,
Go to the runtime workbench --> Message Monitoring --> Click on the 'Configure Table Columns' > Check Sequence ID, Serialization Context & Sequential Number options.> and then click 'Apply'.
Then in the 'Serialization Context' column you will get the queue ID for the stcuk message.
Take that value and click on the 'Show additional Criteria' option on the top and put this value in the 'Serialization context' parameter. Also,select the start/end date as 'This year' --> start.
You will get all the messages stuck in that particular queue for this yoear, try to rectify them, so that your message will be processed.

Adapter Framework File Adapter Message on hold

we have a problem with the Adapter Framework and their the File Adapter / Messaging System.
We process one HR IDOC from R/3 through XI and send it to 7 file adapters. The SXMB_MONI tells us that all messages have been processed without errors and when you go to the RWB and use the Message-Monitoring many messages are on status HOLD. XI makes the message EOIO once you have multiple receivers and something blocks the messages in the AF. Is there a way to delete the AF queues like the XI queues with SMQ1 or SMQ2. It looks like SAP had duplicated the SMQ business in JAVA but I found no documentation how to clean up queues or what to do if the get stuck.

but if you see them when you do it then
it means that this XI's configuration was not complete
so you may expect further problems

Adapter framework failing to send message

Hi,
I am facing an issue in XI, where the adapter framework is getting failed to send the message. The message is also not getting reflected in SXMB_MONI,
"Transmitting the message to endpoint http://server:8080/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection AFW failed, due to: Received HTTP response code 404 : Not found."
No service using the ICM port 8080 is working though active. No XI service, even the ping service in sap/bc/ping is not working.
I have checked the following:
1) SLDCHECK (browser opening properly). In ABAP part i am getting error
Use transaction SLDAPICUST if you wish to maintain
Launching the SLD GUI in a separate browser window.
=> Verify in the browser GUI that the SLD is in a healthy running state!
Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS
Retrieving data from the SLD server...
Function call returned exception code 3
=> Check whether the SLD is running!
Summary: Connection to SLD does not work
=> Check SLD function and configurations
for troubleshooting the above error i have gone through the link
