Messages in SCOT.

Hi all,
there are some messages in SCOT which are sent by the background job scheduled with report SWN_SELSEN.
These messages are in error as the receipient address is not valid.
These messages looks like some kind of status messages informing about the delivery of new work items.
I want to stop this messages coming in SCOT.
Please help me to stop these messages occuring in SCOT. These messages  doesn't serve any purpose.
The text  of the message is as below.

Hello,
You could stop the SWN_SELSEN job if you're sure you don't want any of those notifications.
Check SLG1 for a log of its run to give you an idea of where it's coming from.
You can use SWNCONFIG to disable the notifications if you can figure out which particular one it is.
It would be better to fix the address settings for that user; people often want emails informing them of workitems.

  • Error in Message Alert /SCOT

    Hi All,
I have configured the alert Message in the development and also in the Quality , In development it is working fine but in the Quality i am not able to get the mails in my inbox. Here are the few things that i have configured:
    1. Created and Checked the user id in the SU01.
    2. Checked the transaction SMICM, i found that there is the error but there is no description about where the error is.
    3. Checked in the SCOT transaction-utility-services-SMTP.
    4. When i am checking the SCOT transaction i am seeing that there are 7 errors under the error tab but it didn't say what is the error and where is it.
    5. Checked ST22 dum analysis but there is no dump.
So Could anyone let me know if i need to check anything else to get the mails iin my external mail-id.
    Thanks,
    JAY

Yah i have the message in the SOST transaction,
here is the message :      <b> No delivery to , as recipient unknown</b>

Check the recipient address, correct if necessary and send the message
    to the correct address.
If the node is an R/3 System, the address  is not contained in

    should maintain the address here.
If the node is not an R/3 System, you must maintain the address in the
    appropriate system.

NOTE::::I have changed my company NAME to ABC
this only says that the address is not correct but i have checked this one several times but the address is exactly as i have provided in the development.

  • SCOT FAX send message error

Hi,  the send messages in scot for FAX is showing error but it has succussfully received at the destination.we are using topcall for fax service . we have verified as there is no line disconnection infax. what could be reason for this .

    Hi Krishbasis,
    Sorry for late reply.
I would request you to do complete verification of SCOT configuration. Below are the steps:
    1. Please check what is the default domain you have mentioned. SCOT--> Settings->Default domain.
Here you have to maintain the domain name properly. It should be like xyz.local.
    2. Please check SMTP configuration: Double clicking on SMTP node you should check Mail host is proper
and also mail Port should be 25.
    3. Under "Supported address Types" option "Internet" should be checked. Go to respective Set button
Here in Address area try giving * or specific to the address you will be sending mail.
    4. Check if you have scheduled the "Send Jobs". Its in "Settings -->Send Jobs". You can schedule the job for
"All Address Type" and schedule the job with proper user. Check in SM37 if the job is scheduled.
    5. For testing you can use tcode: SBWP. From there you can send test mail to the desired address
(check your organization policies before sending mail to external mail ID).
While triggering "New Message" from SBWP, please select recipient type as "Internet Address".
    6. To check the status go to tcode: SOST and check if it is delivered. You can try reprocessing once more.
But before all these things you have to ensure that your server IP is included in SMTP server. You can check with
    any OS administrator about this.
    Keep us posted.
    Regards,
    Sujit.

  • SCOT mail waiting

    HI Forum,
We have problem in SAP SCOT..there are more 600 mails are waiting.i already run the program RSCONN01 every 10 minutes but still prb is same..we have execute start send process in scot but no solutions..default domain is set ..please help.
    Tejendra
    006590876045

I solved my SCOT SMTP e-mail issues.  Here are my solutions
    1. Emails were not delivered after so many hours,
    2. So many e-mails waiting in SCOT queue with status "In Transit"
    Solution.
We are at SAP Netweaver, but the concept is pretty similar in ECC and 4.6  I am using the SAP SMTP Plugin.
First what the messages in SCOT mean
    Completed
Number of successfully completed send orders, that is, the messages
    were sent to the recipients.
    Error
Number of send orders that were not successfully completed, that is,
the messages could not be sent to the recipients.
    In transit
Number of send orders that are currently in process outside of the
R/3 System, that is, the messages have been transferred to the
external nodes by the SAPconnect send process but neither a positive
nor a negative status message has been received.
    Waiting
Number of send orders that are currently still within the R/3
System, that is, the messages have not yet been registered by the
SAPconnect send process. (Waiting send orders are not yet assigned
to a node, therefore only the values for the higher-level scheduled
lines 'Address type' and 'System/Client' are displayed.)
The values in the last two columns (Duration in transit, Duration
waiting) refer to the average processing times (in hours and minutes)
for the respective send orders. The processing time period is defined by
    the following events:
    Duration in transit
Time from the transfer of the message to the external node to the
receipt of the first status message reporting the delivery or
    non-delivery.
    Duration waiting
Time from the creation of the send order by an R/3 application to
the transfer of the message to the external node by the SAPconnect
    send process.
    ===============
You need to turn of the waiting of a receipt in SCOT
Thi is under   Scot => Settings => Confirmation of Receipt
Choose  "SAP connect does not expect a receipt fro Internet Mail"
So those in 'Transisit" did send, SAP is just saying "I never received a receipt' You can ignore them.
Now using tcode SOST you can adjust the time manually, but here comes SMTP Time Settings as to the root cause of the dealy.
I am working a large Military Project so we use UTC
But the systems are in the East Coast and run in UNIX under EST (Eastern Standard Time)
So my emails , even though I sent them at 1pm would only be delivered at 6pm as  EST is 5 hours behind UTC.
Now timezones are  set in  tcode  TZAC
So I set my systems Time Zone as UTC - 5  (to subtract the 5 hours) which = EST where our systems are at.
UTC is nice as it avoids the daylight savings times issues
So yes, SAP SMTP Plugin converts all e-mails to the timezone of the server, not the user.
Tcode SOST will show you this.
    Note your locatl time
Send a Short Message    System => Short Message
choose a email account such as your work e-mail and choose 'Internt Address"
Now check SOST and note the time on the email.  if it is different that is a Time Zone Problem.
In short your timezones of SAP and Host must match or SMTP will delay x number of hours that the time zones differ.
    Enjoy
    Kelly

  • Inbound sms

Currently we use scot on our webas 620 system for e-mail, fax and outbound SMS.
Is there a way of receiving inbound SMS messages through SCOT (sapconnect SOST)?
Some one has suggested Cycos MRS as a solution, this fits in well with us because they also claim the product can be used for EP application CTI (SAPphone) integration .
Has anybody ever used this product or achieved inbound sms to SAP without writing there own gateway on middleware.

    Hie
I know this may sound really strange that I am asking for a guide that you probably did 3 years ago.
But incase you still remember, I would like for you to assist me with configuration for sending out sms's to clients. If you could send me a document, i would be more thatn glad.
I would also like to find out what are the hardware requirements if any, this functionality to take place.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Broadcasting issues

    Hi
I have the following issues in the broadcasting.
    1. After creating the template in WAD and executed, I clicked on send icon then bex broadcaster window opened.  In that window the following tabs are displayed 1. Dataanalysis 2. Graphical Display 3. information 4. Information Broadcasting. When clicked on information broadcasting "Create New Setting" and "CReate new setting with wizard" button are disabled.
    2. When i publish directly from WAD to bex broadcaster, i can create a wizard and also send the report in form of PDF to Emails but when i open the PDF in the email, The template looks totally different (Some junk template)  and STRANGE thing which I observed is that when I publish the report from query designer to bex broadcaster, the PDF to email looks similar to 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT template. So the broadcaster is pointing to different template when broadcasting from query designer and WAD. Is there any setting which we need to do so that my WAD broadcasting template looks similar to query designer template?
Can anyone give some inputs on this scenarios.
    Thanks
    Annie

    Dear Anne,
I am assuming there is some problem in your web template. May be there is some settings problem.
Can you check the message in SCOT transaction after executio of report via broadcasting.
Can you pls check the out put by giving OTemplate as the source templete to the required report.
Let me know,if this is already resolved..
    Cheers,
    maruthi

  • MN05 vs SCOT: How to obtain mail status messages (with SP 8)?

Since we've installed SP 8, we don't receive E-mail status messages anymore.
In MN05 we always had two communication strategies (defined by "Doc Type/Purch. Org/Vendor") :
    Vendor 1 (ex.: 123hotmail.com)
Send status/Requested statuts is set to "Return All Statuses"
send statuts/Status by Mail is set to "All Statuses"
SCOT is currently set to "not expecting any receipt confirmation or exceptions".
If we add « hotmail.com » in the domain exception list, our users will receive a status message for everything that is sent to this domain.
But the goal is to receive status message only for the two vendors defnied in the comm. strategy.
    Any idea?

    I made this test...
In SCOT,  I added this address as an exception: 123<at>hotmail.com.
Then in ME9F, I edit my message to the vendor 123<at>hotmail.com... And I receive a receipt confirmation, good.
Then I edit a message to the vendor 789<at>hotmail.com... And I receive a receipt confirmation too, that's the problem...

  • SCOT messages hang in 'waiting'

This is sneak preview ABAP system (700) running on windows.
    I have
    - SMTP host active (SICF)
    - SMICM - SMTP service running
    - SMICM paramters for SMTP configured as per help.sap.com
    - SCOT settings for SMTP node done (server/port/mail-type etc)
    - Server is connected directly to internet and should be able to reach the mail-server
    - User with an email-id defined
    - All OSS notes that I could locate have been taken care of
When I create a message, it appears in SCOT under waiting. When I execute 'send' it seems to not select any messages and returns with message 'No message sent'. I setup trace and check it but it doesn't show any error.
Some of the things to note
    - Message appear in SCOT but not in SOST (even when I have everything selected in SOST)
    - When I delete the messages (SOSC, SO* tables) using SAP supplied program, then it shows up in SOST as 'cancelled'.
    - SCOT 'send' doesn't seem to even try reaching the mail host, in trace it shows it has gone through the nodes and has tried to send '0' messages (apparently it can't identify the 'waiting messages' which do seem to be there in SCOT).
I have done other settings in SCOT (eg default domain name, receipt setting etc) but nothing works. I am pretty sure it is not related to the mail-server I specified, since it doesn't seem to even try to connect to mail-server - send process stops much before that.
    Any pointers are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ajay

    Hi Ajay,
    Try applying this note.

  • Messages in SAPConnect (SCOT) hanging in item 'in transit'

I saw that there were a couple of messages sitting 'waiting' so I started the send process, it moved along but just got hung up in the column 'in tansit'
i can no longer start the send process for these items again as there are no items to send...
I am not sure what else to look at or troubleshoot where it's hung up on?
I've gone thru every menu option, confirmed every SCOT configuration
    It is under
    INT
         SMTP
                                                       InTransit
                                                              1
Any advise would help as we depend on this to identify when there are interface issues to non-sap systems
    Maria

SMTP (INT) is exactly working and configured like the instance of SAP that is successfully able to send messages.
    address types are the same
I can ping the mail server from the SAP Server (so ping out ok) use <sid>adm
donno?  messages still are falling in the errors bucket.
Thes error in SWBP is Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (so ECC cannot get out to the mail server) BUT I can ping the mail server while I am on remote in to the SAP server
I will need to check on the mail server now

  • SCOT Config: Message status Transmitted even when mail not received

    Dear All,
We have SCOT correctly configured on one of our systems. We are able to send external messages.
The problem we are facing is that sometimes some of the sent email bounces(doesn't reaches recepient). But the status on the message sent shows as transmitted.
We tried with couple of wrong mail ids and systems accepts that and forwards the message to it and sets the message status as transmitted.
We checked with our mail admin for the send logs and the mail server has logs for the messeages as failed.
We are working with the option SAPConnect expects receipt confirmation for internet mail.
    Regrads,

  • SCOT issue - resending errored messages

Our SAP 4.6 system crashed and, after it was brought back up, one of my colleagues attempted to resend mail messages that had errored out ("Cannot transfer message to node EMAIL due to RFC error").  He resent them and all are sitting in a wait status with status text "Put in the queue again by".  Subsequent mail messages have been sent successfully but these continue to sit in a wait status.
I've checked SCOT and see them in a wait status.
How can I resend these messages?
    Thank you for your assistance.

    Mary,
    SCOT transaction
    Method
    Utilities
    Overview of send orders
Put in your selection criteria and execute to get a list of transmissions
Select the transmissions that you want to resend
Select the u2018Repeat sendu2019 icon from the toolbar or alternatively from the menu u2018Send Processu2019 then select Repeat sendu2019
But first I would check that the RFC connection is ok
Select the relevant node, eg INT and select your object like NOTES
You can double click to view the general node data
Alternatively from the menu select u201CNodesu2019 then u2018Displayu2019
Double click on the RFC Destination.  This will take you to RFC destination (SM59) and you can test the connection

  • Service desk settings, automatic email status message change

    Hi,
I'm working at Solution Manager 7.0 SP16. I've configured and working Service Desk scenario and it works. Now I'm trying configure automatic email at status change of messages, but It doesn't work
I'm following spro transaction, and SAP Note 691393. I am configuring Service Desk Specific Scenario Settings -> Automatic Email at status change.
    I've checked:
    - SCOT is correctly configured and working OK.
    - Business partners emails are mantained.
I made the configuration suggested as described SAP Note 691303 SAP Tutor. Following SAP Tutor I go to transaction sppfcadm->select crm_order->botton "define action profile and actions"->Action Profile(left view) and SLFN0001_ADVANCED(right view)->mode change->new entry...   I follow the next slides at SAP Tutor.
At the end, when I check results, I go to the support message (transaction crm_dno_monitor) to edit-> Fast Entry->service process->status->In process and I press button save. So I go to Transaction data->Actions but any about the send mail action
    Please could you help me??
    Thanks and Regards

  • Service Desk Settings, Automatic Email at status change of messages

    Hello experts,
I need your help about this:
I am configuring Service Desk Specific Scenario Settings -> Automatic Email at status change.
I made the configuration suggested as described SAP Note 691303. Also I configured the status profile SLFN0001 in transaction DNO_CUST01, and the Action profile SLFN0001_STANDARD, both  for the SLF1 (Service basis message), but still when we change the status of messages, the email is not generated in SCOT, overview of send orders.
I want to clarify that the configuration made for the action of send email was in transsaction SPPFCADM, selected DNO_NOTIF, and push Define Action Profile and Actions, then selected the Action profile SLFN0001_STANDARD for making he ocnfiguration as suggested in note 691303.
SCOT is correctly configured and working OK.
Business partners emails are mantained too.
    Thank you very much.
    Hector Longarte

Hello. Thanks to all of you for your comments. I am answering to your questions below:
Have you assign proper partner function to every status in action?
I do not know where can I make this assigment.  I am thinking that this may be the cause. Please I kindly ask you to give me orientation about this.
Have you defined condition for defined action?
Yes, the condition was defined thru SPPFCADM. Now, I wonder if this must be configured for CRM_ORDER application as described in note 691303, or for DNO_NOTIF ??
Have you maintained user deatils on identification tab in BP?
Yes, the Business partners and emails adresses were correctly mantained.
The configuration we are talking about and you want to change, is it regarding SLFN (Service Desk Messages) or SLF1 (Basis Service Message)?
I supose that for Service desk messages we must configure SLFN, and not SLF1. Right?
In DNO_CUST01, we have SLF1. We have not made any configuration in DNO_CUST04, it is still as original standard. Please let me know if we are right.
You want to send an aut. email notification when status of SLF1 changes?
We want to send email notifications to the message creator about the status change of service desk messages.
    Thank you very much.
    Best regards.
    Hector Longarte.

  • Extended Notifications: Message not sent

    Hi Folks
I had configured the extended notifications in the development system and it was working perfactly. Then I transported the customizing request for the above config to Test system.
I have scheduled the job for SCOT and SWN_SELSEN.
SWN_SELSEN do select the notifications to be sent but it does not send any messages.
I have checked the application log and it displays a message SWN 032 ERROR while creating a message.
Waiting for your expert opinion on how to resolve this issue.
