Method for getting list of Oracle/SQL keywords

Hi
I am Parsing dtd file and creating sequence of relational schema from that. But sometimes the dtd file use some element name that are keywords for the SQL. So before issuing a CREATE TABLE ststement,I like to check whether the table has any column name that is a keyword .For that I need to know is there any method by which I can get the list of SQL/Oracle keywords ? PLs help. THANKS

Class: java.sql.DatabaseMetadata
Method: getSQLKeywords
Desc: Returns a comma-delimited list of all non-SQL92 keywords used by the database
Example (Source http://javaalmanac.com/egs/java.sql/GetSqlKeywords.html?l=rel ):
import java.sql.Connection;
import java.sql.DatabaseMetaData;
public String[] getSQLKeywords(Connection connection) {
   String[] keywords = null;
   try {
      DatabaseMetaData dbmd = connection.getMetaData();
      keywords = dbmd.getSQLKeywords().split(",\\s*");
   } catch (SQLException e) {
      // Handle Exception
   return keywords;
SQL92 Keywords
The SQL92 specification is available for purchase. However, if you just want the full list of reserved words / keywords for a particular type of database, there is usually documentation provided by the database vendor.

    Why can I no longer, after having downloaded Lion, write accents and other diacriticals when in the Google, Yahoo, FaceBook, or even here in this post? The new method for getting at the "option" symbols works fine in other places like spotlight, but now even the older "option+letter" doesn't work in most places.

    Chrome doesn't support the new accent/diacritics/macron chooser. I'm not sure about other browsers such as Firefox. You can use the old Option+letter combination that Doug suggested. Hopefully updates will solve these little incompatibilities shortly.

  • Best method for scrollable list of objects

    I was attempting to create a list of objects in a scrollable pane with the ScrollPane object. I am having a very hard time customizing what is actually scrolling in that pane, though. By using a custom renderer class, I am able to change what it looks like and even add objects to it, but I am having trouble passing data to those objects at creation because it is loaded through the pane object itself.
    What I would like to do is create an object with buttons on it (relative to that object) and be able to add multiple ones to a scrollable pane. I tried to figure out a way to be able to simply add my object as the item, but it seems to require a specific object. Is there any work around to this? What would be the best way of going about this?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Can i use "Oracle Database 12c: Performance Management and Tuning " training for getting certification on "Oracle Database 11g: Performance Tuning 1Z0-054"

    i have taken "Oracle Database 12c: Performance Management and Tuning new" training from oracle university. Now i would like to get certified on "Oracle Database 11g: Performance Tuning 1Z0-054" exam. Is it possible ?

    I essentially endorse and refer you to Matthews' and John's post above.
    I would differ with slightly with Matthew because my guess is you would often be able to use like for like 12c training for an 11g certification ( I believe there are precedents).  BEFORE ANYONE ASKS THE OTHER WAY DOESN'T HAPPEN.
    .... but totally concur with Matthew you would ill advised to procede on that basis without one of:
    - This being advertised as possible on the website : e.g. https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=654&get_params=p_id:169 ... option 2 show courses.
    - Confirmation from Brandye
    - Confirmation from an Oracle Certification Support Web Ticket ( http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP )
    ... The more common (and in my opinion usually better) way would be get your 11g DBA OCP ( or higher first) and then take the 1z0-054.  I am almost certain they will accept your 12c course for the 11g DBA OCP.
    If you are choosing the route of not being a 11g (or 12c ) DBA OCP first but are on option 2 and relying on the course for certification then the issue is more in the balance and you are even more strongly advised to get confirmation before proceding (remember if the rules need to be changed for you only then any profit out of the exam is lost).
    In general my understanding is Oracle would prefer to encourage people to train on the latest version of product that is available for training  and will prefer to avoid restrictions which would cause you to train at a lower version.  ( This is simply my guess at Oracle University Policy ... personal opinion only).
    Having said all I have said I'd encourage you to go with the advice of the earlier two posts.

  • How to optimize code for getting list of portal GP erroneous processes

    Hello,
    In our Web Dynpro application for Java we got the list of GP processes with status Erroneous which match the following criteria (initiator, processName, blockName, actionName, startDate, endDate, instanceName, actionProcessor) by loop of all portal users. The problem is that it takes too much time for execution. In example with 200 users it takes about 5 min. Any idea how to optimize execution?

  • Is there any t.code for getting list of deliveries not yet invoiced?

    Hi,
    Is there any t.code or report where we can get the list of outbound deliveries not yet invoiced, and also the value for how much it will be invoiced.
    For example, I have one order with net price as 100, and it has outbound delivery created and not yet invoiced. I want a list of those deliveries with the net price of the quantity delivered.
    Do anybody have any idea on this ?
    Thanks
    Surya

    Hi All,
    In VF04 and VL06F we will get list of outbound deliveries, but I want the information in such a way that if that delivery is invoiced for how much value it will be invoiced? so, the list should contain the delivery number the value for how much the invoice will be created.
    Thanks

  • Re: similar method for get correct position mouse in node

    The MouseEvent itself has the data you need to compute similar coordinates that the SwingUtilities method does:
    e.getX(); e.getY(); // coordinates of the mouse relative to the component on which the event was fired
    e.getSceneX(); e.getSceneY(); // coordinates of the mouse in the Scene
    e.getScreenX(); e.getScreenY(); // coordinates of the mouse on the Screen
    If you want to get the row in a ListView (or TableView) for a mouse event, however, I would recommend setting a custom cell factory that handles the mouse event for each cell:
    ListView<T> list  = ... ;
    list.setCellFactory(new Callback<ListView<T>, ListCell<T>>() {
         @Override
         public ListCell<T> call(ListView<T> listView) {
              final ListCell<T> cell = new ListCell<T>();
              cell.setOnMouseDragged(new EventHandler<MouseEvent>() {
                   @Override
                   public void handle(MouseEvent event) {
                        int index = cell.getIndex(); // list index: may be out of range if this is an empty cell
                        T item = cell.getItem(); // Item displayed in the cell: may be null if this is an empty cell
              return cell ;
    (I just typed that in here without testing: it may have typos. Obviously replace T with the type for your ListView.)

    The only way I know to do that is to implement a full drag and drop and use the setOnDragOver handler on the cell. Something like:
          list.setCellFactory(new Callback<ListView<T>, ListCell<T>>() {
                @Override
                public ListCell<T> call(ListView<T> listView) {
                    final ListCell<T> cell = new ListCell<>();
                    cell.setOnDragDetected(new EventHandler<MouseEvent>() {
                        @Override
                        public void handle(MouseEvent event) {
                            if (cell.getItem() != null) {
                                Dragboard db = cell.startDragAndDrop(TransferMode.MOVE);
                                ClipboardContent cc = new ClipboardContent();
                                cc.put(dataFormat, cell.getIndex());
                                db.setContent(cc);
                    cell.setOnDragOver(new EventHandler<DragEvent>() {
                        @Override
                        public void handle(DragEvent event) {
                            if (cell.getItem() != null) {
                                System.out.println(cell.getIndex());
                    return cell;
    You may want to do other things with the drag too (setOnDragDropped to process when the drag is ended on a cell, etc.)

  • Help for getting connection with oracle database

    Hello,

    and some other error message.
    But, by following yours given instruction, first, i unzip CLASSES111.zip

    7.3.3.1.3 from the jdbc subfolder into oracle installer by selecting
    win95.prd for jdbc subfolder.
    After that i write into my autoexec.bat file,

    path d:\jdk\lib;d:\jdk\bin;c:\windows\command;C:\temp\BIN;c:\temp\jdbc\lib\classes111.zipYou've added classes111.zip to your PATH, not your CLASSPATH.
    Add it to your CLASSPATH using:
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;c:\temp\jdbc\lib\classes111.zip
    then try to compile/run again.

  • Support for 11x17 paper in Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler 4.0.0.833

    In last versions of the version 3 of this product the ability to print your data model on 11x17 paper was included by default.  This support was even in some of the beta 4 version of the data modeler.  But, in the release of the production version for this tool, the 11x17 paper printing option has dissapeared from this product.  Can you please add this back into your product because those of us with large data models but no plotter need this paper size.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    What printer do you use? You need to set it as default printer for your system and you should get ledge size as option if the printer supports it.
    Otherwise you can print diagram to PDF file and then you can use Adobe reader or Foxit reader to print to separate pages - it's poster in Adobe and scaling type "tile large pages" in Foxit
