MFC application with Sql Server Database

Hello!
I have made an application (using MFC ODBC costumer) and i want to make this program run in every computer.
Is there any way to run it without installing sql server in every computer?
Thank you!

You don't need to install sql server in every computer as its available with MS OS. You can create a User DNS with of your database in every computer  that will be connected with your application as you may be sharing a common database.
Step 1: Create link of your database (say data.mdb) in all computers . You can use mklink command.
Step 2: Goto  Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools and open ODBC Data Source Administrator                    and register a UserDNS
with the database (data.mdb)

  • Vix file in UI builder doesn't recieve data from Webservice application that communicates with SQL server database

I have created Web service VI ("Prikaz insolacije.vi") which has two input string terminals (FROM / TO) for dates and two output terminals for data (1-D array) collected from database (MS SQL server). This VI communicates with database using functions from database palette with appropriate DSN and SQL query. There are two tables with two data columns (Time and Insolation) in Database.
This VI works when you run it in Labview 2010, but when I used it as sub VI in UI builder it doesn't return any data.
Could you please help me find a solution. Is it possible to communicate with SQL server database this way or there is another way?
There are two attachmet files: Image of .vix file in UI builder and .vi file ("Prikaz insolacije.vi")
    Please help me ASAP!

Status is False and source string is empty. It behaves like there is no code in VI.
I tried to access web service directly using following URL:
    http://localhost:8080/WSPPSunce/Prikaz_insolacije/2009-11-05/2009-11-01
and it doesn' t work. It returns zeros.

    Hello everybody,
I want to integrate a J2EE application with SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. In fact, it is the first time to be involved in developing an interoperability component between .Net web service and Java application. So I have learned for some time how to pass this challenge. • Sql developer won't connect with SQL server database on cluster

    Hello,
I have a microsoft SQL server database on a windows cluster. Name for this cluster is like XXX/YYY
When I try to connect to this database with SQL developer, I get a failure, mentioning:
"Status : Failure -Cannot connect to Miscrosoft SQL Server on XXX/YYY"
As far as I know, I have installed the correct jtds driver (version 1.2.5), since I can connect to sql server databases on single server hosts.
Does anyone know how to connect to databases on windows clusters?

    Hi Ingmar,
Try this is in the port box
    1433/dbname;instance=YYY
    dbname can be omitted
    -Turloch

1/Giving an instance name in SQLDeveloper connection to SQL Server (from August 2011)
    MS SQL Server Connection
The correct syntax to deal with this is in the port box
    1433/dbname;instance=instance
    dbname can be omitted
    2/cluster configuration (uses instance name)

REP-4100 : Failed to execute data source
JDBCPDS -62008 : SQL Server Error:

    Srini,
yes you can use report Buider with Sql Server through jdbc driver.
When you define the report datasource, you just have to set the JDBC conection infos.

  • Pool connection issue with sql server database in adf application

    Hi everyone
I'm Developing a BPM application using Oracle bpm 11.1.1.5.0
My JDeveloper version is 11.1.1.5.0 and my database is SQL Server 2008.
I have created a new BPM application, an application module and created several view objects based on my sql server tables in the database.
I have only one initiator user task which has a task flow and one jspx page for that.
    The problem :
when I deploy the application, in the bpm workspace initiator page, the page is shown correctly only once every other time.
I mean it's strange, the first time the user instantiates the process, it's shown correctly. The second time, it is not! The third time, it is! etc...
The interesting part is, when the page is not shown correctly, if I refresh the page it will be shown correctly.
Here's the log output from when the page is not shown correctly:
JBO-30003: Application pool model.sam.specialAppModuleLocal fails to check out an application module due to the following exception:

    Hello thank you
I found the file and changed the SQL Flavor to SQL Server but it still shows a blank page with the error instead of the page every once in a while.
The error has changed though, now it is like this:

  • Driver Library to communicate with SQL Server database

    Hi All,
I'm new to LabView and am hoping for a few guidelines to point me in the right direction for an application that I have to develop.
I have to build an API to read/write to a database (SQL Server).  Another application will essentially have the ability to call my API to read in data from one table (ie supply it with a product code, version details etc – and return filename and programming file), and it will also write to another table in the database.
The following public function VIs are required (ie. API functions to be called)
        Open Database
        Read From Table 1
        Write from Table 2
        Read from Table 2
        Close Database
Create one Top-Level VI that can be used as an “example application” – something you can use to test your function Vis.
On the front panel, show the two tables
        Ability to read/write to tables
Middle-layer Vis should allow easy adaptation of table structure changes if required in future.
All other Vis that support the top-level functions, should have access scope set to private.
I imagine that all SQL query generation would be handled by the function VIs. They will also handle all data procedures. The only thing that the interfacing application should be concerned about is providing and receiving data to/from the database.
I understand most of what's required, but I'm still not sure on where to begin.
Can someone point me in the right direction and give me a starting point.
    Regards.

    tdog-
smercurio_fc is exactly correct.  The LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit is an API that was designed to do exactly this.  I would strongly recommend taking a look at it and review the functionality that is already created for you.  In the link that smercurio_fc, there is an area where you can download it which will give you a 30 day free trial of the software.  This would be a great way to see if this tool will assist you in your application.

  • Commercial distributed application with SQL Server 2008 back-end

Hi All, I am suffering some confusion and wondered if anyone could clear up a few questions for me.
I am currently developing an application to be sold commercially, to be deployed locally on a customer's site. It is a client-server application and the server utilises an SQL Server 2008 back-end. Client applications however do connect directly to the SQL
    Server.
We probably want to support about 100+ client applications. Each client application could feasibly be making several SQL query requests per second.
Firstly, what are the licensing implications of this for the customer? I understand SQL Server 2008 can support 30000+ concurrent connections, but am I correct in thinking that each client application will require CALs? Or I understand there is a "processor
    licence"...
Secondly, and I know this is quite a broad question, but can anyone offer a rough estimation of the processing/storage requirements for the server?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi click,
Usually, SQL Server is licensed through Microsoft Volume Licensing programs using two software licensing models, one is the Per Processor (Core-based) licensing model, another is Server plus Client Access License (Server+CAL) licensing model which is based
on the users or devices accessing the product.
Using the Per Core Licensing Model When running SQL Server in a physical operating system environment (OSE), all physical cores on the server must be licensed. When licensing SQL Server software under the Server+CAL model, customers purchase a server license
for each server and a client access license (CAL) for each device (Device CAL) and/or user (User CAL) accessing SQL Server or any of its components.
For more detailed information regarding to the license issue, please call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist. For international customers, please use the Guide
to Worldwide Microsoft Licensing Sites to find contact information in your locations.

How we can access MS SQL Server.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nirav

    Hello Nirav,
Usually we get that this type of requirement in BW Environment to get data from different target databases systems.
is our EHP5 system is Dual stack (AS JAVA, BI JAVA) or Abap stack?
Please go through the below link. it would help you to configure JDBC Access.

The XML generated contains only ABAP Stack but the SUM also load the Java tab.
    Please check for the following

    2) Existence of j2ee related folders on the SAP server
If you system is only ABAP stack, please remove information identified in option(1) and (2).

  • Use of PVKConverter with SQL Server 2012 SP2

I am trying to convert a certificate that was exported from our database server to be used by SQL Server for database encryption.  When I run the PVKConverter, not Private Key File (PVK) is generated.
The certificate has Server and Client Authentication as the purposes of the certificate.
What purpose or purposes does the certificate need in order to be able to be used by SQL Server 2012 SP2?
Why doesn't the PVKConverter generate a private key file?
I can use the command makecerts to generate a self signed certificate and have it work with SQL Server database encryption.
    Thanks.
    DJ

    Hi DJ,
Based on my research, SQL Server supports the importing of existing security certificates, specified as a pair of files that are encoded in PVK/DER format. Below Transact-SQL script displays the basic key file format for SQL Server database encryption.
    CREATE CERTIFICATE <Certificate name>
    FROM FILE = '<PVK/DER format file>.cer'
WITH PRIVATE KEY (FILE = '<PVK/DER format file>.pvk',
    DECRYPTION BY PASSWORD = '<Encryption password>');
According to your description, PVKConverter doesn’t generate a private key file. PVKConverter is used to generate PVK/DER encoded security certificates from existing PFX encoded security certificates. Thus, please ensure that your certificate is encoded in
PFX format and make sure you perform all the steps properly as described in the
    KB article.
There is also a related blog for your reference.

  • How to create a .mdf SQL Server database from a Data-Tier Application file that has data?

This is a noob question, though I do use SQL Server databases all the time with Entity Framework when I code in C# using Visual Studio 2013.  The development environment is found below at [A].  I am trying to make a clone of a SQL Server 2008 R2
database (.mdf)  that exists online.  I can read, connect and work with this database in Visual Studio 2013, but I wish to make a local copy of the database, as an .MDF file.  Somewhere in my notes I have a way of creating a local copy from
an online database when using Visual Studio but I forgot how (it seems, reviewing my notes, that it deals with ADO.NET which is deprecated in Visual Studio 2013 these days, or so it seems).  So I'm looking for another way.  What I did was create
(or export) a "Data-Tier Application File" from the online SQL Server database, with data, and it seems to have worked in that this Data-Tier Application file exists on my hard drive and seems to have data in it ("SQL Server Replication Snapshot"
is the format it seems).  It contains skeleton code to create a database, but when I tried to execute it with SQL Server 2014 Management Studio, I got a bunch of errors.
    So my question is:
    1) Can I somehow create a .MDF SQL Server Database from an Data-Tier Application file that has data?  What tool do I use?  I saw this link, http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/2639.how-to-use-data-tier-application-import-and-export-with-a-windows-azure-sql-database.aspx
and it relates to Azure, but is there a tool for C#Visual Studio 2013, standalone?
    2) If there's an easy way to create a .mdf SQL Server Database file from an online file, within SQL Server Management Studio?  I don't think so, since it would require Administrator permissions on the online server, which I don't have. I have permission
to read, update, delete the online database file, but strangely not to download it (the service I use has a tool for backup, but not for download).
    3) same question as 2), but for Visual Studio 2013?  I don't think so, since I notice none of the templates even mentions ADO.NET anymore, but instead they go with Entity Framework.  Using EF I can of course do anything I want with the online database
(CRUD), but it remains online.  Maybe there's a switch to make a local copy?  I guess I could write a short program to suck all the data out of the online database and put it into a new, duplicate database having the same tables, that I create on
my localhost, but my question here is if there's an easier way than this, maybe a tool or command I can run from inside Visual Studio?
Any advice on any of the above questions is appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Paul

Thanks but these links are too general to help.
"2. what do you mean by online file?" - I mean the SQL Server database file is on a remote web server that I rent from, but I am not the administrator of.  I can access my database using SQL Server Authentication, but nothing more.

What do you mean by too general? It explains on how you can use data tier application to create and deploy databases
May be this will help you to understand better
