Microsoft office lumia 630

Microsoft Office will not open on my Lumia 630 phone.  When I tap the icon I get a message saying "something's wrong. We encountered a problem and couldn't complete this task. ok" Can anybody help? Thanks.

Welcome to Microsoft Mobile Community. About your concern, when did it start to happen? Were you able to open other applications with no issues? You can try rebooting the phone by pressing and holding the power key for 15 seconds to further isolate the concern. Note that this process will not delete any personal data saved on the phone, but be sure to set up the date & time after. We look forward to your reply.

    The lumia 630 uses Windows Phone 8.1
    Firefox is only for desktop Windows, Mac OSX and Linux, for mobile Firefox for Android 2.3+ and the Firefox OS.
    I have seen no plans from Mozilla to make Firefox for Windows Phone as it is due to some Microsoft restrictions and Mozilla is busy enough as is at moment anyways.

  • Lumia 630 email subfolder sync problem

    Hi,
    I recently bought a Lumia 630 phone and to my annoyance I have noticed that it does not sync my Exchange subfolders. I have configured the Exchange account correctly and I get all of my emails from inbox synced exactly like they should but I can’t get anything from folders. The phone starts synchronizing folders as it should but after the synchronization is completed there are no emails in that folder. This happens even if I set the ‘Download email from’ setting to ‘any time’.
    All my other Windows phones (Lumia 825 and Samsung GT8700) and other portable devices are able to retrieve email from the folders, so this behavior is new to me. Also it seems to only impact Exchange as the subfolder downloads work perfectly from Yahoo and Gmail.
    I have re-created the Exchange account multiple times but the behavior still remains the same.
    The OS version that is installed to my phone is: 8.10.12359.845
    Would appreciate any help to solve this problem.

    Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions.
    Is these the steps how you created your account?
    Exchange can be set up only if your company has a Microsoft Exchange server. In addition, your company IT administrator must have activated Microsoft Exchange for your account.
    Before starting the setup, make sure you have the following:
    A corporate mail address
    Your Exchange server name (contact your company IT department)
    Your network domain name (contact your company IT department)
    Your office network password
    Depending on the Exchange server configuration, you may need to type in additional info during the setup. If you don't know the correct info, contact your company IT department.
    During the setup, you can define how often you want your phone to sync the content with the server. Only content defined when setting up the account is synced. To sync additional content, change the Exchange account settings.
    With Exchange, it may be mandatory to use the lock code.

  • Lumia 630 bugs

    I am using Lumia 630 since last 4/5 months but now i am feeling some major problems . I am listing the problems below. Please help me to resolve then. And please tell me solution other then hard reset cause its not possible for me to re-download ask my software after hard reset. I have more than 60 software installed. And i don't have a Wi-Fi to download them again. The problems are:
    1. The folders of WhatsApp photos are not showing in the photos section. Though the WhatsApp photos are in the picture folder in sd card. They are not showing in all photos also.
    2. Not even a single song is showing in music section . But other third party software are showing them.
    3. The .xap files are not showing in store . In the install local app section only few software are showing but i have many other .xap files also.
    4. While calling with headphone plugged in i could not able to change the volume of headphones. It's always remain on full volume.
    Please help me to solve these problems. I am facing many problems. And its disappointing me. During first 2/3 months it was going ask right and none of these problems were there.
    Please please help me to drive these problems. I have already tried hard reset many times but after 2/3 days it again showed the same problem. Please tell me is there any way to backup all downloaded apps so that i can try a hard reset.

    OK, taking them one at a time.
    1. Due to the security designs within the O/S, applications are not allowed to see each other's storage areas.  Each app is 'sandboxed' to their own operating portion of memory and management of their own files, etc. within that storage area.  (i.e. there is no c: drive or public folders where they can store stuff anyone can use).  Hence, the pictures in WhatsApp have to be managed by WhatsApp within it's own area.  There are some exceptions to the rule, which MS has provided for camera apps, Office files, etc. but these are specific.
    2. The same is true for music files -- depending upon where you are getting them from.  The app you are using only has access to its own storage -- not to the overall Music Hub folders.
    3.  I'm not sure what you mean by "...the .xap files are not showing up in the Store".  The Store has apps for sale/download which are essentially .xap files but you request the app via its name, not the specific .xap file.
    4. This sounds like a hardware problem with the volume control buttons.  Or possibly a problem with a specific app.  Can you change the volume of notification sounds, etc.?  what about call volume through the headphones?  This might be solved by a hard reset.

    you can check here ([1]) which release is available for your device. For the Lumia 630 in India that is the Cyan release.
    [2] reads "For all other Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the update will start rolling out during Q4 2014, following partner testing and approvals", so I think
    it is only a matter of time when the update is deployed to the Lumia 630 in India.

    Are you trying to transfer a Microsoft office document from your PC to your phone? Are you using a Lumia with Windows Phone 8? If yes, see this link http://www.windowsphone.com/en-ph/how-to/wp8/office/sync-documents-using-my-computer for more info. You don't need to install an additional application just to view the files. Like what farby said, You can access it via Office hub.

    The measurements and dimensions of the aforementioned phones are basically the same, so I'd believe it should fit. Although I strongly advise to look for a Microsoft / Nokia Store or a physical mobile retail shop to confirm and to possibly test if it does fit.

    I jus got lumia 630 and i have problem, wehn i download apps true wifi its very slow and it stop completly but when i lock scren..but in 3g mode everything works fine...router isn't problem i tried others. everything besides downloadig apps works fine.

    I bought Lumia 630 with windows 8.1. I can connect to internet with connection from BSNL/Airtel, the service providers. Problem is connecting through Wifi. In my office, I have wifi connection. While providing Pass Word for the connection in the phone, it cannot connect. But the name of network is shown.
    Similarly I have set up a hotspot in my Windows 8.1 Laptop., which is connected to net through cable connection having IP address. This network name also appears in Wifi Panel  of the Phone.. When I give the password, it fails to connect to my hot spot. More over this hot spot can be connected through Android Phone.
    It appears some adjustment is required in the New Lumia 630 phone. But I am unable to solve the Problem. It needs mention that in my Lumia 630 phone, 3G data connection has been given by BSNL, the service provider, though an access point. I removed the sim to check whether without that wifi  connection can be obtained, but without any success.
    I will be thankful, if a solution could be given for the problem.

    Hi, Cant seem to locate any trace of calendar/scheduler nor appointment or task  buttons on brand new 630.
    Followed Nokia support page how to create an appointment but alas no calender option is available on the Home screen inital left swipe menu listed A -Z.
    Calculator  & camera are present but no calendar...also been through setting one section by one and i'm totally stumped..
    Also too many websites hence this posting.
    kinda need this function  - as it'll go back if i cant switch this on.

    We did have one Lumia 630 in the office that exhibited this symptom. It appears to be something happening in the initial boot-up, and the cause is under investigation; however as a workaround in the meantime we can confirm that performing a device reset  did resolve this in our device.

    I just bought a Macbook Air almost a month now. When I bought it, the technician installed Microsoft Office 365 as they were having a promotion at the time. However after a week of using it, it started popping up a notice saying that it cannot verify Microsoft Office. I still managed to open the word document but as of today, it will not open. I took it to the Mac store last week, and they said that there was nothing wrong with it and they could not figure out any problem.
    I don't know what to do and I am in desperate need of help. I cannot open my documents at all and I have my research paper that I need to finish writing. This is very disappointing and extremely stressful for me. If anyone has any suggestions of how this can be fixed, please let me know. I do not want to lose my hard work =(

    Microsoft Office 365 is a subscription - based service. You have to pay for it... and keep paying for it... and paying for it... as in 365 days a year... or lose your hard work.
    Office Home Premium is a mere $10 a month, but a convenient annual subscription is only $100 a year. This is a substantial discount to Microsoft's Office 365 business products ($150 / employee / year).
    Such a deal! Are you not absolutely thrilled?

  • How can I use Microsoft Office on two user accounts on one IMAc?

    Dear all,
    I have installed Microsoft Office 2011 on my IMac which I have recently bought. I did this on the (at that time) only user account in place: the administrator account.
    A little time after this my wife and I decided it would be much easier to us to make an additional user account on the same computer for my wife (also with administrator rights), so we could have our own settings, desktop preferences etc. So now we have two user accounts/profiles on one Imac, so far so good.
    But when my wife signs in on her account, she is not able to use Microsoft Office . Office seems to be only available to the user account on which it has been installed initially: 'my' account.
    Can anyone help us out here and tell us how we can make Office available to my wife's user account as well? I understand that the licence of Office is restricted to one computer, but what about two accounts on the same IMac? I mean, it is still one computer, one 'home', one family etc.
    We would appreciate your help here!

    As long as you installed MS Office into its default location (the top level /Applications folder) it will be available to all user accounts on the Mac.
    As far as licensing is concerned you only have to enter the license code once, which you should do right after installing MS Office, in the same admin account you installed it from, by opening any one of the MS Office applications.  There is no additional licensing required for additional user accounts on the same Mac.
    Each user account is able to run the Office apps.  The only thing you will have to do is go through an initial setup screen in each user account (but this setup does NOT involve entering any additional license codes).
    You may have problems if you installed MS Office in a particular user account (i.e. NOT in the top level /Applications folder).

    We're experiencing a growing problem with our users in several different domains running in to Microsoft Office 2013 x32 'activation' issues.  We use KMS for licensing, which works properly, but some of the machines (~20-30 out of 1000+) sporadically
    throw the following error:
    'Microsoft Office can't find your license for this application.  Microsoft Office will now exit.'
    We know it's not an issue with the licenses per se, since they work on and off and we can force KMS activation correctly / talk to the KMS servers.
    It appears to be an issue with the Software Protection service not starting properly.  In Event Viewer, we see the following:
    'Software protection service failed to start due to the following error- the service did not respond in a timely fashion.
    Event 7000'
    This is occurring on a variety of machines in a variety of environments, all fully patched with the latest Office updates.  It's inconsistent, and the 'manually restart the Software Protection Service' solution is not viable as it's occurring on many
    different workstations.  Office repairs have also been unsuccessful.  
    Has anyone else come across this? Or have any idea why the Software Protection Service might be sporadically failing?  Maybe an Office update in the last 2-3 months?

  • Reinstalling Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 - OS 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium on Dell Inspiron

    To start at the begining....no, that's not fair, that goes all the way back to March 24th!
    My hard drive has been wiped clean twice now...First time was not by MY choice...the guy from India just talked me through it, with no warning of what was going to be the result.  What a nightmare! 
    This 2nd time when I have "retrieved" my files from my external hard drive...my documents are there....just can't open them!  
    Following messages when opening Word or Outlook:
    "Please wait...."etc. "Configuration in Progress Microsoft Office Home and Business".... which takes forever!
    Then:
    "Your AutoCorrect file: c:\users\Tosi\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\MSO1033.acl, could not be saved.  the file may be read only, or you man not have permission to modify the file."
    Then:
    "Word cannot open existing file (Normal)
    In tyring to open Outlook...
    Big Red cirlce with an X in it:  Could not install the custom actions.  The form Cache file c:\users\Tosi\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Forms\FRMCACHE>DAT is not valid.  Contact your administrator.
    The same message as Word  "Your AutoCorrcet....etc....MSO1033.acl ...etc. "
    I have tried to change permissions...no luck.  How to I get FULL control over my own computer?  Please!
    When I do finally get Outlook open, nothing is in there.  I looked for my Outlook Data folder and I see that my .pst data file is in 5 places, yet it is not connecting with Outlook.  No mail, address or calendar are in there. (to back
    track...the first time I retrieved my stuff off the hard drive everything worked)
    Microsoft has promissed numerous times to assit me to resolve these problems through very lovely emails but no one has called to follow up and help me.  I really need help and I am running out of patience. 
    Soon I will be saying "Goodbye Microsoft!  Goodbye Dell!  Hello Apple!"

    As per your description, seems the installation of Office have got completely corrupted. I would suggest you to completely remove Office 2010 from your computer and then reinstall it.
    For how to remove/uninstall Office from your computer, I would suggest you to use Microsoft Fix It tool:

    After uninstalling Office, please restart your computer then try a reinstallation. If you don't have the Office 2010 installation source or DVD, please go to this website to get Office 2010 installation package:
