Mid Month Calculation for Year dependent fiscal year

Hi All,
We are in middle of AA implementation .How can we configure mid month in year dependent fiscal year .System doesn't allow to put mid month date for year dependent fiscal year.
If we copy co.code from best practice co.code BP01 system updates date this table in back round.
But we are not copying from BP01.
Any one has configure this for year dependent please input.
Thanks,

Hi,
this function is not possible, you have to use a fiscal year variant with 24 real periods instead.
Check the IMG documentation concerning "Use of Half Months in the Company Code":
- When you specify the use of half periods in the definition of an asset company code, half periods are automatically specified in all other company codes that use this fiscal year version.
- You cannot use half periods with non-calendar fiscal months.
- You cannot take back the use of half periods once the specification has been made.  It is noted internally by the system in the asset master records.

  • Calendar assignment in OAVH for '03' period control for calendar year dependent fiscal year.

    Hi
We have a year dependent Fiscal Year in our client's system. It is a 5-4-4 Fiscal Year variant starting from March till Feb.
While trying to create a new asset we faced an error "You cannot save this asset(Correct depreciation error)." I checked and found that the error is due to a missing calendar assignment in OAVH for the period control key '03' (Pro rata at mid-period) for our fiscal year variant. Till the last fiscal year it had been maintained, but for current fiscal year the assignment is not maintained.
Can someone help me to understand how the calendar assignment is done in OAVH for a 03 period control key for a year dependent fiscal year like ours?
I tried using the transaction OA84 (Generate Period Control), but it provides the calendar assignment for all other period control methods except for '03'. Is there some specific reason as to why OA84 does not generate for '03' period control?
I checked the last fiscal year's assignments in OAVH for our fiscal year variant for '03' period control, but could not understand how it was configured, because it did not relate to the fiscal year variant assignment that we have done in OB29. Also, I even checked whether we need to enter the mid date of the periods, but that also was not done for the last fiscal year. I am unable to understand how the dates have been assgined.
Given below is our last Fiscal Year's OAVH settings for '03' period control:

    Dear Ambarish,
As it is a year dependent fiscal year variant, we should create the year for the variant via OB29, then generate the period via OA84.

  • FI-AA Impact on changing the year dependent fiscal year period from 445 to 435

    Dear Friends,
May I have your comment on the impact of below change
Currently using Year Dependent fiscal year variant K5 and period end closing is *445
future we want to use the same fiscal year dependent variant K5 , however the period end closing will be *435
*445 Periods - 1st month 4th sat, 2nd month 4th sat, 3rd month 5th sat will be the closing periods
similarly for the rest of the months in a year
*435 Periods -  1st month 4th month, 2nd month 3rd sat, 3rd month 5th sat will be the closing periods
similarly for the rest of the months in a year

    Hi Sanjai,
SAP do not recommend to change a Fiscal Year Variant that has already
been assigned to a company code and has already some postings. This
    will may create database inconsistencies
Please check the following SAP notes which will give you an
idea of some adverse effects that may happen as a result of a change
based on the modules/components you have implemented in your system.

210861     Changing fiscal year variant in production system
193713     SAPF070: Change of fiscal year variant
672255     Shortened fiscal year/changing fiscal periods
The change of the fiscal year or the change of the fiscal periods
has an effect in many modules, for example, in FI, FI-AA, FI-SL, FI-LC,
EC-CS, IM, CO, EC-PCA, MM, PP, SD, PS, PM.
Corresponding risks (for example, data inconsistency, system standstill)
can arise from incorrect changes to the fiscal year or from incorrect
changes to the fiscal periods in a live SAP system.

  • Opening activities for the ne Fiscal Year

    Dear All
what are the activities that are required to carry out for opening the New Fiscal Year..
    Thanks  & Regards
    Veena Kunthe

    Hello
The new fiscal year is automatically opened when you make your first posting in the new fiscal year or once the balance carried forward program has been run. You do not have to close the old fiscal year before you can post data in the new one. You therefore do not need to create closing or opening financial statements.
The prerequisites for posting to a new fiscal year are as follows:
If you are using a fiscal year variant which is year-specific, you first have to create a variant for this fiscal year and assign it to the relevant company code. See Fiscal Year and Calendar Year
If you have also defined year-dependent document number assignment, you must have already set up the document number ranges for the new fiscal year. For more information, see  Document Number Assignment
The relevant posting periods must be open in the new fiscal year. See Opening and Closing Posting Periods
Check this link for more documentation on carry forwarding balances

  • Difference between calender year and fiscal year

    Hi Experts,
Can you please let me know What is the difference between calender year and fiscal year?

    Hi Suresh,
Calender year  begins on January 1 and ends on December 31.
A fiscal year (or financial year or accounting reference date) is a 12-month period used for calculating annual ("yearly") financial statements in businesses and other organizations. It can be any 12-month period that a company uses for accounting purposes.
    hope its clear
    Cheers

  • Mid-Month Calculations

I am bringing a fixed asset system online in SAP and during the legacy conversion it was realized that the test system is not calculating the depreciation using a mid month convention.  That being said looking at the configuration the company code was setup in 2005 and is in production and is productive (since 2005).  So it appears that this setting is global and SAP will not allow me to change these settings to allow mid month calculations.  Is this correct? anyone ran across the same issue.

    Hi
please read the note 2993 and 39416!

  • Avg Bal Calc for a new fiscal year

    Hi
The avg bal calc needs to take into account that the start of a fiscal year ie period 1, should only take into account Current Period Movement Balance and not include Prior period balance. Thereafter period 2, must take into account current plus movement.
    Any ideas. thanks
    Mona

I am trying create a query in Bex with these key figures.
When I run the query for avg bal it brings through period 12 and current balance of period 1. I need to create a calc key figure that gives me
avg bal   = if period =1 then avg bal = monthly movement bal else if any other period then avg bal = avg bal + monthly movement.
    In other words cumulative. Period 1 = period 1 , period 2= period 1 +period 2 etc
    Thanks
    Mona

  • ABST2 - How to take the report for the previous fiscal year

    Hi,
For FI-AA reconciliation, my scenario is this: The current fiscal year is 2009 and the system (server) date is 16-Apr-2009. My fiscal year period is: Mar-Apr. In ABST2, it does not accept Fiscal year. When I take the report, it displays for fiscal year 2009, which I don't want because I want it for the fiscal year 2008 to reconcile between FI and AA. The fiscal year 2008 is not yet closed in both FI and AA, so I want the report for 2008 only. But ABST2 always gives the report for the current fiscl year. Is there any way out to get the report for 2008?.
    Thanks,
    Kannan S

This report is based on the actual values. In the past this report was used for EURO conversions to see if the values are in line. When not it was not possible to do the euro conversion.
Normal it is a part from the fiscal year closing

    Hi Unkedeuxke,
As Ken said, we do not have a measure Average aggregation type in SQL Server Analysis Services. We do have AverageOfChildren (or Average over time), however it is semi-additive and works only along a Time dimension. Fortunately, we have Sum and Count, and
since Average = Sum / Count, we can build our own Average aggregation when we need one. Here is a blog about how to create a average measure, please refer to the link below.

  • Interest calculating for 364 days in year

    hi
i am calculating interest for 1 april to 31 march for the previous year but instead of taking 365 days it is calculating for 364 days. can you tell that what i have to do to correct it.
    Thanks

Hi You can see in the payment terms you mentioned as one day due to this it will calculate the interest only 364 days.
If the payment terms are correct then while running the interest( f.4b or f.2b etc.) there select the layout as open items include postings and select calculate the ineterest on net due dates then it will work properly
If you have still doubt let me know
