MIDI Issues on new rMBP

Hi there,
I've just received my new retina MBP 15" and after getting it set up, I'm having issues with it not properly recognizing a MIDI device.
The device in question is an Akai MPK49 keyboard and it worked fine on my previous Mac (2011 MBP) and I've also tried it tonight on another 2012 non-retina MBP which also works fine, so it's definitely not the keyboard.
The new MacBook seems to recognise that something is plugged in, when I look in MIDI prefs in Ableton Live it finds a MIDI Device, but doesn't detect that it's an MPK as it should. I've also tried it in some standalone Native Instruments players and they won't find anything at all connected.
I've tried it in both USB ports, as well as through the TB port using the hub on the TB display, and nothing has worked. Interestingly, I tried a little 25 key LPK keyboard and it works fine.
Any ideas?

You had better contact the tech support at the company that makes your keyboard (which you failed to name) as well as Epson for tech support for your scanner. They can solve the problems faster than we can on this forum.

It seems the best way is to use the "Set Up Assistant" on the first initial boot of your new machine with a Firewire connection. It will prompt you for transfering from your old Mac.
I've never had an issue with this method.

Can't install Boot Camp Windows 7 on new rMBP

I purchased a new rMBP and I am trying to install Windows 7 on it with a full install windows 7 disk.
I have a usb superdrive with the windows disk in it. I have downloaded the windows files to a usb flash drive through the boot camp assistant process. Once I select the partition I get a message "Boot Camp needs to update the usb drive before installing windows 7." I press continue, and it does the partition then attempts to reboot, but all I get is a black screen on the reboot process.
I have read throuh numerous posts here but I am not sure any problems/solutions are the same as mine.
I think it may have something to do with the usb flash drive and usb superdrive with the windows disk in conflicting each other.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I found this thread because I had gotten the same error message about updating the usb drive, although my dvd drive is internal. I tried your advice anyway about removing the usb.
Boot camp assistant proceeded to format my hd and then restarted my computer. (btw, I am running a mid 2010 Macbook with Mavericks. I have bootcamp 4 on a flash drive because that's the version required for my model of Macbook.)
I was able to boot from the Windows 7 32-bit installation dvd, bun I got stuck shortly thereafter. The first screen had me pick my language. Next. Windows 7 logo with 'install now' button. Also two links "what to know before installing windows" and "repair your computer". I read that I should have had as option to format the drive but there was none. If I press 'install now' I get the following error message: "a required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing. if you have a driver floppy disk,cd, dvd, or usb flash drive, please insert it now. note: if the installation media is in the cd/dvd drive, you can safely remove it for this step."
there's a browse button, rescan, and grayed-out next button. this.is where I'm stuck. i also tried the same thing with the bootcamp usb plugged in but it didnt detect any drivers on there either.
ive scoured google for these error messages and seen many suggestions, but none of them has worked for me.. any help would be much appreciated.

New rMBP 13" - Trackpad/Keyboard not working during Win7 Bootcamp Installation

I bought the new rMBP 13" 2 weeks ago and now wanted to install Win7 on an extra partition. Using the Bootcamp Assistant, I created a bootable USB drive to install. However, when booting the USB drive and getting to the first installation screen (asking for language), I don't have a cursors to select anything. Also the keyboard is not working. I thought the Win7 might lack some drivers, but I even a different Win7 distribution (64bit) but it still wasn't working. Does anyone have an idea what I could do to fix it? Obviously, not everyone has this issue.

New rMBP keeps getting bumped to Hotmail mobile site

Hi all
Since getting my new rMBP whenever I try to access Hotmail I keep getting bumped to the mobile site rather than the regular one. It seems to happen with both Safari and Firefox. My white MacBook with Snow Leopard doesn't have this issue, strangely.
Anyone else experiencing this and have a suggestion on how to fix the problem?

I have a new rMBP and it came with Lion. Should I upgrade to Mountain Lion? I am just looking for opinions since the new OS seems to be having some issues.

That decision is totally up to you. To help you with your decision, go to an Apple Store and play around with it.
As for having issues, remember this message board is like a hospital/ER. You should keep in mind that these are technical support forums. Generally, the only people posting here are those with problems. The thousands/millions without problems don't ever come here.

They said I need to change my settings to NAT settings. I haven't been able to figure out or find anything. I have also spoken to Apple Support on the phone for hours without being able to figure out how to do this ( i don't think he knew much either lol.) Please help me because I've got about 15-20 devices in my house that require to be connected to the internet and this is just making things ridiculously slow and painful for me.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

Win7 black-screen-hanging-cursor problem on brand new rMBP

I am sorry but a face a problem similar to (surprisingly) many in this thread.
I have a brand new rMBP 15'' with bootcamp Win7 installed (90GB partition). Installation went painless ONLY with a fresh Yosemite 10.10.3 installation, otherwise I fell into said black screen-hanging cursor trap already during installation. After installation I could enter Windows and install some software there. Upon re-boot, black-screen-hanging cursor in top left problem.

If you built a USB using BCA and Windows ISO/DVD, it will show Windows and EFI boot both as options, when Alt Key is held.

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)

Go to Apple Menu > App Store > View my account > sign in and then edit the payment details with the new card details.
I am assuming that your card and supporting bank are in the same country as your residential (billing) address and that you are using the App Store of that country.

Yes, you can create a standalone AP Down Payment Invoice and adjust it against the invoice you create later or you can create a payment on account outgoing payment and then reconcile it with the invoice in the ougoing payment screen.

Certificate issued by AD Certificate Services Expired and won't renew, how to issue a new certificate?

Hi,
One of our internal web sites certificates expired so it can't be renewed
From the "Failed Request" folder:
"A required certificate is not within it's validity period when verified..."
So I need to issue a new certificate but I can't seem to find out how to issue a new certificate via a certificate request file from within out Active Directory Certificate Services Management Console.
Anybody know how I would do this? Or am I looking in the wrong place?
FYI, the certificate was originally issued from this internal CA so it was done before, by a previous administrator.

Yamaha's 'MIDI Plugin' system for it's synths has been around for some time now, but the only sequencer to adopt it (that I know of) has been Cakewalk/Sonar.
I guess it was just a matter of course that it be introduced into Cubase too.
It doesn't provide anything which can't be done in Logic's Environment, (or in SoundDiver,
b if
the device is supported), but it does mean that the user has a ready-made solution.
