Midlet logo size on Mobile Screen !

Hi,
I am assigning Midlet logos in .png/.gif/.jpg for my J2Me applications build by using Sun J2ME wireless Tool Kit, but the logo display (size) is very very small on my Nokia 7610 Handset..
I even tried by changing the size of Logo but nothing happens on my Mobile screen, and the logo sized remained the same..
Can any one help me in displaying the logo in big size for my Nokia 7610.
I used 16X16 , 42X29 , 76X76 but i found MIDlet icons remains the same no change in it on my Nokia 7610 screen,,,please help

there's nothing to explain. again, you can use:
if(Capabilities.screenResolutionX<whatever && Capabilitites.screenResolutionY<whateverelse){

How to make AI document display same physical size as mobile screen?

I know this seems like a bush-league sort of question, but I can't find the answer.
I'm designing some screens for an retina display iPad and I just want the illustrator document on my 27" thunderbold monitor (at 109 ppi) to have the same physical dimensions as the physical iPad screen (7.75" x 5.81"). Maybe its so obvious that no one talks about how to do it. I do feel a little embarassed that I haven't figured this out.
Regardless of whenther I enter the doucment dimensions in inches or in pixels the resulting document is never the same pysicial size as the iPad's screen. And since Illustrator deals in vectors it doesn't have any notion of PPI that I can use to bring inches and pixels into alignement so that what I see on my monitor is the same physical size as what's in the iPad.
All i want is the AI document displayed on my monitor to be the exact same size as my iPad's screen. Can anyone help?

Photoshop has a "Screen Resolution" feature in its Settings which allows you to enter your screen resolution of 109 and this will display the physical size of images when you choose Print Size from the View menu. It simply will display the image at the appropriate zoom level for you. Unfortunately Illustrator doesn't have this, it always assumes that your monitor is 72ppi resolution. The problem with implementing custom monitor resolution in Illustrator is that it is a vector program and unlike Photoshop it doesn't have a ppi settings for its vector objects which are resolution independent. For the use of its rulers and numerical dimensions input when set to pixels, it has to assume an eventual ppi rasterization of the vector objects. If Illustrator uses the same feature like Photoshop then the same Illustrator file will show different pixel dimensions depending on which monitor it is displayed which may cause a much greater confusion than the problem you have now.
To find the physical size in Illustrator, right click on its ruler and set it to units that you have on a real life ruler. Then put the real life ruler on your screen and change the zoom level until the rulers in Illustrator are the same size as the real life ruler. Then write down the zoom level and use it again when you want to check the physical size of your work.
I think with your 109 ppi monitor, the zoom level should be about 152%

Most efficient way to handle Image sizes with respect to Mobile Screen Size

I and trying to find the best possible way to manage Images with respect to the size of mobile screen.
If I have an image that is best fit on mobile screen size (176 x 144) then how can I make it best fit for (128 x 128) screen size ?

Hey Rizzz86,
You could also scale down a higher resolution image to fit smaller screens, however you will find that resizing by factors other than 2, 4, 8 is harder to achieve with a decent quality and much slower on lower spec devices.
You could also display 128x128 image centered on 176 x 144 screen with black borders around it.
It will look not that bad (i.e. borders of 24 pixels top and bottom and 8 pixels left and right) and will cost you nothing in terms of space or processing.
In the end having an image in 3 different sizes will not increase the MIDlet size by much, unless you are having tens of such images (for example custom UI elements).
Best solution is to have a bit of both I think. Personally I use scaling down by factors that are powers of 2 and displaying with the black borders.

Mobile Screen size

Is there any way to detect the mobile screen size of a device. I know you can get the pixel capability but some phones now have HD screens with similar pixel capacity to tablets. My galaxy nexus is displaying the tablet version but I would rather it do the phone version. Not sure if there is any physical size we can pull to make a more intelligent decision on which layout to show.

The Capabilities class provides properties that describe the screen. I've used the dpi to help make things look correctly on these different highres smaller screens.

How do you hide elements for mobile screen sizes?

I've built an interactive Edge page that is 1200 pixels wide. I'm working on making things responsive, and I would like to hide elements when the browser hits a mobile screen size - similar to adding a media query and setting an element to display:none at 450px or similar. How can I do this within Edge?
If this is not possible within the interface, can I add my own media queries to the css to do this?

- To put your company logo in the right-hand side of the initial
screen:
Put your picture in the database with the transaction SMW0
"Binary data" options, e.g. in ".GIF" format.
Put a record with the picture name in the key "START_IMAGE" of
the table SSM_CUST in the View maintenance transaction SM30.
- You can adjust the picture to the window size automatically or
center it in the right-hand side of the initial screen
("RESIZE_IMAGE" "YES" or "NO" in the table SSM_CUST).
- You can deactivate the picture globally so that noone sees it
with "HIDE_START_IMAGE" "YES" in the table SSM_CUST.

How to find Mobile Screen Density

I need to retrieve device's screen density and other information from mobile i searched it allot on Google but do not found any relevant solution.

Java ME doesn't provide an API for this. The best you can do is detect the pixel size of the screen using Canvas#getWidth() / getHeight() and prompt the user to supply the physical screen size.

How to change the logo size on all the pages?

I have some 125 pages and i need to change the logo size of every page .Is there any method to change with one click that reflects on all the other pages ? Rather than i do it manually open every page and change the logo size? The logo is in the div. I want to use it as html rather than using as css div background image. Any help will be highly appreciated am using DWCS6 on win xp pro.

If the code is the same on every page, you could use the Find & Replace function within DW...
1. Make a backup of your site files, just in case
2. Make the necessary changes to one page to get what you want (make sure you know what the original code for it was/is)
3. Hit Ctrl + F to open the Find/Replace Dialogue
4. For "Find In" choose Entire Current Local Site
5. In "Search" choose Source Code
6. For "Find" put the line(s) of code that contain your background image on all pages (the original code mentioned in #2 above)
7. For "Replace" put in the newly changed line(s) of code from step 2.
8. Hit Replace All
DW will go through all of the pages, replacing whatever code you put in Find with whatever code you put in Replace.

Bookmarks opens in a window 2/3's the size of my screen since the latest update. Now the first bookmark I scroll over covers the whole window instead of too the side and I can't close it without closing the bookmarks window

I kept getting a reminder I had a Firefox update I needed to install. I did last night but never opened Firefox again till this morning. Now when I click on bookmarks for the drop down it opens a window almost 2/3's the size of my screen instead of the narrow window it has in the past. Now as soon as I move my mouse over or close to any bookmark it opens up that bookmark in the window and I can't access the bookmark I want. I have to close the whole window and then be very careful as I move my mouse to the correct bookmark. In the past with the narrow window it opened the bookmarks to the side and only after you clicked on them. I have tried to resize the window but can't find any option to do so. Also couldn't find an option that would let me change it so a bookmark had to be clicked on. If this can't be changed I will be removing Firefox. This is too inconvenient for me.

Take it to your local Apple Store or AASP, it's covered by a 1 year hardware warranty. If you have AppleCare then give them a call but I'm pretty sure they will advise the same. If you have not purchased AppleCare yet please do, this will extend the warranty to 3 years however it MUST be purchased within the first year of ownership. If it is caused by a hardware problem there is nothing you can do to prevent it from recurring unless it was caused by abuse like from dropping the iPod.
Otherwise make sure you ask apple how they fixed. it.

you can use CALL SCREEN 2009 STARTING AT x-cor y-cor ENDIGN AT x-cor y-cor to put the screen. You can change x and y coordinates.

You may need to do a Restore in iTunes.
Clicking sounds from an iPod that has a hard drive is probably not a good thing. It is possible that your iPod's hard drive is becoming unreliable.

My ipod touch flashes the apple logo and the lock screen. How do I fix it?

My ipod touch 4th Generation will flash from the Apple Logo to my locked screen. Although when I plug in my headphones everything works perfectly. I have not had this ipod very long and i have already recieved a new one from Apple before. I have also tried reseting it as well.

First try restoring the iPod from backup.

My MacBookPro (mid 2012) will not complete the boot process. Yosemite's progress widget gets about 1/3 to 1/2 way across when the logo disappears and the screen goes all white for 10-15 secs or so, then the machine shuts down and restarts.

I upgraded to Yosemite from Mountain Lion a couple months ago, skipping Maverick completely, and I've done any associated updates that Apple told me about. I don't recall which version of Yosemite I have, but I'm sure it is the "latest and greatest".
I've tried re-starting in Safe Mode / Safe Boot and that does the same thing as described above except without the endless restarts. Instead of restarting at some point, SafeBoot proceeds to the white screen and then it hangs until I restart it manually. (I've waited as long os 20-30 minutes with no response).
When I tried the option-command-p-r key combo I never get any chimes or other noises besides the original 1 time boot sound that you would expect to get when starting up a macbook pro.
I was using the mac quite normally (meaning I was doing work I normally do on it and there was no indication of anything wrong) immediately prior to this happening.
The machine is BootCamp(ed) with Windows 8.1 which I use from a VMWare virtual machine instead of natively so that I can have both OSes running at the same time. I also think this is unrelated to my problem. I have been using this setup for more than 2 years.
My upgrade to Yosemite was uneventful and I thought it went well and was very smooth. I don't want to lead attention away from Yosemite, but at this point my problem does not seem related to the upgrade.
Any help is appreciated.

Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
      left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
      the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
      the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
           because it is three times faster than wireless.
