Mighty Mouse working except no mouse listed in bluetooth mouse options

the mouse works fine, but i don't see the mouse in the bluetooth tab of the keyboard & mouse settings, (no name, battery level is empty)

I talked to Apple-US yesterday and aparently the same here.
I just realized (because I'm new to mac and the mighty mouse) that I didn't have any of the advanced options either, including usage of the side squeeze buttons (which should have been configurable in the mouse tab of keyboard&mouse, but mine showed basic config like a generic mouse)
The solution: Apple is shipping a new mouse to me. After doing a couple of diagnostics and resetting the mouse, and a couple of things on the macbook (no idea what they were) they're sending me a new one
When I get the new one and it works, i'll mark this as solved. Otherwise... who knows?

  • Mouse Works, Keyboard Doesn't. NO Bluetooth.plist ????

Hi...My BT mouse works, but the Apple BT Keyboard stopped working. It showed as not paired. It wouldn't pair, so I "deleted it". Now the keyboard can't even be discovered. I have new batteries in keyboard.
I was going to trash the comm.apple.bluetooth.plist - but there isn't any file with this name. I may have done a stupid thing and "reloaded" the BT firmware from the Apple CD. I now have BT Software 2.1.0.f17 and Firmware 2.1241.
I've tried trashing the bezelservices.plist and preferencesyn.plist, but that didn't work.
    Any ideas welcomed...thanks!

    hey b.mutt ---
this is exactly the same issue for me. updated to 10.5.5 today -- intermittent keyboard has completly disappeared now. tried re-pairing (deleting old pairing & plist) no joy on new set-up/re-connecting. Airport has gone sideways too.
updated today before speaking with apple tomorrow - about lots of probs. with machine and now has got worse - v. boring.
may restore via time machine.... back to 10.5.3
more soon if any info --

  • Will magic mouse work on Power G5 with USB bluetooth?

I have a Power G5 Mac OS 10.5.8 and I really want to buy the magic mouse. However since I don't have bluetooth, will it work if I purchase a USB bluetooth? If anyone has done this, please let me know!

Hi Maria, and a warm welcome to the forums!
The Magic Mouse is wireless, and uses a Bluetooth 2.1 transceiver to communicate with Bluetooth-enabled Macs. It can connect to any Mac that has a Bluetooth module, either built-in or added via a USB dongle. In fact, that’s the approach I took. I used a Bluetooth dongle to connect the Magic Mouse to an older Mac Pro that is not equipped with Bluetooth.

  • Bluetooth mouse not working in Mavericks

    Hello
After upgrading to OS X Mavericks, my bluetooth mouse stopped working. The OS can see the bluetooth mouse and it connects to it, but after "mouse connected" it doesn't work, i get no mouse response at all. Tried some other users solutions but none of them work. I've tried the bluetooth mouse in other computers and it is working fine.

Restart the computer holding down the command - option/alt - P - R keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold until you hear the startup chime for the second time.
    Reset NVRAM/PRAM
Try a SMC reset. The article covers when this is required, but doing this will not affect anything.

    Hi everyone!
I had problems with my new Rapoo 6080 mouse, it didn't want to work with my laptop anyhow.
The connection was successful, but the cursor was dead, and in a few minutes Windows removed the mouse connection with the following error in Event Log:
Initial connection to Bluetooth HID device failed.  The device has been removed as a personal or paired device.  You must reinstall the device.
I called Lenovo techsupport, they have referred me to this thread.
Now I have found a solution, that might not be perfect and requires some skills, but IT WORKS (at least for me). I have installed Toshiba bluetooth stack on my laptop, replacing the drivers from Lenovo.
Toshiba has ceased support for other manufacturer's devices in their stack, but a little fix of VID and PID values in tosrfusb.inf file did the job.
Not sure if I should provide details on how to do the whole process, as it requires some skills and accuracy. I guess those who are familiar with Windows will find their way.
BTW, the stack I downloaded is not latest, it was version v80012T_20110809_x64. But I guess the latest may also do the job.

  • Thinkpad L440 - Left-Handed Bluetooth Mouse but Right-Handed Touchpad

I have my bluetooth mouse connected but I want to use it as a left-handed mouse.  I can't seem to figure out how to do this without changing the configuration of the touchpad.  I want to keep the touchpad right-handed.  Is there any way to do this?  Thanks!

    Hi Brittneym,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per the query we understood that you are looking for Touchpad setting on your ThinkPad L440.
Please go to Control panel – Mouse setting and in Buttons menu tick the check box “Switch primary and secondary buttons” this will change the complete setting for left hander users, and after applying those setting go to UltraNav menu and click on “Touch Pad Setting” you will new window touchpad properties in that expand Buttons option on “Left Button Action” set it to Primary Click and on “Right Button Action” set it to Secondary Click apply the settings and click on OK.
You can give a try on the above setting; it worked with USB external mouse but I am not sure with Bluetooth mouse. Check the screen shot from the below link
    Dual Touchpad setting
    Hope this helps!

  • Hp bluetooth mouse x7500 cant be found

I have installed the HP mouse suite 2.9, but the hp bluetooth mouse x7500 cant be found there. Same problem on both my computers.
The mouse is working well otherwise.

OK, according to the specs of your Lenovo, it is Bluetooth 4.0 enabled and should be compatible with the HP mouse.
    However...
Since this Bluetooth Mouse does not come with a dongle that would install a driver via usb, the computer relys on the drivers installed for the radio in the bluetooth card in the laptop.
I think this is a question for the Lenovo forums.
In the specs for the T430, I saw Bluetooth driver downloads for the various versions of Windows available.
I would check with Lenovo support first as you may need to install that.

  • Z87-G45 USB Mass Storage & other devices not working (except keyboard/mouse)

My Z87-G45 died on me last month in warranty so I received a replacement one.
Unfortunatly I'm experiencing mayor USB issues.
    - In Bios mode, no USB mass storage devices are detected (usb stick/disk). USB keyboard and mouse work fine
    - In Windows no USB device except for the keyboard and mouse are detected.
    - Can't see USB Mass Storage Device driver in the USB controllers list
Installed all latest drivers + CMOS CLEAR just in case. Results stay the same.
I assume it's best that I return the motherboard?
    Kind regards

All drivers are already all up-to-date
I also want to stress that USB mass storage devices are not detected in BIOS, NOR as bootable USB device. So I can't upgrade BIOS even if I wanted to.
have you done >>Clear CMOS Guide<< with power cord removed?
have you tested with mainboard out of PC case placed over wooden table?

The above question. Will I have to download any extra drivers? Is the MM really that bad? Thanks.

    Officially...No: http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/specs.html
In reality... probably. Why would you want it anyway? There are many many better mice out there.

  • Will an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and Mighty Mouse work with a PC?

I would like to use both with a pc as well as my macbook but I have no interest in purchasing if i do not know if it will work? Does anyone have any experience?

My only experience is with the Mouse.
It works just fine in Windows. When you pair it up you need to use the password 0000. (That's in the manual)
It does not show you a battery meter though so you will be guessing about the status of the battery.
You will want to keep a USB mouse around to set it up for the first time. Windows will not automatically ask you to pair up a mouse if it doesn't detect a USB mouse is present.
I expect the keyboard is exactly the same. Bluetooth is a standard for both Mac and Windows operating systems.

  • Magic Mouse works in Windows 7 x64... Until Reboot

So I've tried every troubleshooting solution I could find and after hours of fiddling around, and I finally got the Magic Mouse to work in Win 7 x64 (Boot Camp). However, after rebooting it no longer worked. I have downloaded the drivers listed on Apple's website and did the extract 64 bit version. I am using Boot Camp 3.0, so "Generic Bluetooth" is not listed in the Device Manager... only the correct Apple Bluetooth Radio is listed. The steps I went through to get the Magic Mouse up and running the first time are kind of a blur, but I believe they went something like this:
    1. Uninstalled Magic Mouse and Apple Bluetooth drivers from Device Manager
    2. Let Windows find new hardware and reinstall
    3. Chose to search for Bluetooth devices > Right Clicked Magic Mouse > Checked HID Mouse (or something similar) in Services tab
    4. Windows installed drivers and mouse worked. Magic Mouse was listed as Bluetooth HID instead of Apple Wireless Mouse (which I've seen before)
Tested this configuration out and everything seemed to be working great. However, I rebooted my system, ensured I didn't have any issues in Mac OS X (which I didn't) then booted back into Windows. At this point, the mouse no longer worked. I noticed in the Device Manager that there were 2x Bluetooth HIDs listed instead of the one I saw earlier. When I displayed the Bluetooth devices, the Magic Mouse was listed with a yellow exclamation point. I attempted to disable each and reboot to see if one was conflicting with the other, but it did not resolve the issue. Anyone know why this is happening or what I can do to get this mouse working?

Just to update... I can now add the mouse each time I load up Windows. I just need to uninstall any Bluetooth HIDs located in the Device Manager and remove the mouse from the list of bluetooth devices. However, each time I reboot into Windows, the first thing that happens is it install another Bluetooth HID. During the login screen the mouse is unresponsive and when going into the device manager after a reboot there is always two of the same Bluetooth HIDs listed. This seems to be the problem during the startup but how do I stop Windows from installing the same device twice?
I have also attempted to install the 64bit drivers supplied on the website and the mouse changes from Bluetooth HID to Apple Wireless Mouse. Once it finishes installing, the mouse no longer works. I have to repeat the steps and uninstall the Apple drivers to get it to work again

  • Bluetooth Mouse does not work on dv6-4002tu

Hi, I have tried two Bluetooth mice (MS 5000--brand new--and Logitech V470) and neither work on my laptop.
I see that the Bluetooth is enabled in my BIOS.
    I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
I have turned the mouse on and put it into discovery mode.
I have used Add Device from the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, it found it and added it with the correct name.
The mouse appears disabled in Devices and Printers. Under Properties, most of the General info is "Unavailable," Hardware tab info is blank, Services tab shows nothing, but Bluetooth tab shows unique identifier.
I have gone to the driver page using the model number supplied via HP Support Assistant and downloaded the Ralink/Motorola Bluetooth Adapter Driver (SP52533), but the BluetoothSetup.exe fails with the message, "Bluetooth hardware must be switched on to run this package." I am not sure how it discovered the mouse without it being "switched on."
The driver in Device Manager is Generic Bluetooth Adapter by Microsoft, version 6.1.7601.17514, dated 2006 06 21. The downloaded driver only contained an exe file, so no dll's that I could have pointed the Update command to.
I went to the Setting up Bluetooth Connections with Windows 7, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01948661&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us#DeviceOn, but it doesn't say which devices this applies to until you go to the bother to download it and start it up, then find out it is for Mini computers.
There are help pages which mention the HP Wireless Assistant, but it does not tell you how to get it. It is not a software option in the drivers/software for my laptop, so I'm adverse to experimenting.
I have combed this forum and Googled and haven't found anything like it. I hope someone can help.

Thanks, Mumbodog, but I have already been through that page. I'll list what I got out of that page. There is much information on it, so maybe I missed something or misinterpreted it.
    From the top,
I did remove the device and added it back in through the Add Devices option in the Bluetooth menu. Same result. Device is greyed-out, but the name and ID are there.
"HP Bluetooth driver" when you download it and start the installation, the intro says it is for Mini model computers
Use Windows 7 troubleshooter: you gotta be kidding. I did, but as expected, it did nothing.
I tested the batteries last night, and they have plenty of power. They are brand new ones sent with the new product.
Using the Device Wizard in Windows 7 did something. I removed the device, and instead of using the Add Device command from the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, I used the Add Device in the Devices and Printers. It seemed to go through the exact same wizard screens, but brought back more info on the device. The tabs in the Properties are now filled with more device-specific information, but the device still does not work. Going to configure the mouse brought up a red Microsoft window, so I got excited, but when I went to configure the mouse, only the touch pad and the Logitech mouse I have at home have properties in that control panel. I now only get the Create Shortcut and Properties menu items on the device when right-clicked in the Devices page and clicking on the Properties give an error, "The properties for this item are not availble." I may try to reboot and will report back if that fixes it.
Unable to Find a Bluetooth Device: it seems to have found it because it is listed in the Devices list.
Unable to Pair with a Bluetooth Device: pairing with the default pairing key seemed to go well with the Device ending up in the Devices list. Additionally, yesterday, I tried using the code and not using the code.
Unable to communicate with a Bluetooth device: it is 10cm (4") away from the computer; I had one other device on the computer, which was my mobile and which also could be connected but not accessesed (tried to transfer a picture, and ended up having to email it to my laptop). I remove the device just now, and it now gets the same error as mentioned above, "...not available." The laptop did correctly identify my mobile and put the name of it up in the Devices list, so it does seem to discover the devices.
    I am not synching.
Resolving specific Bluetooth problems in Windows 7 and Vista: none of them seem to apply to my case.
At this point, I will reboot and try again.
