Miix 2 not accepting Windows updates

Hi there,
It's annoying that my 8" tab is not accepting needed Windows Defender updates. I went to Windows Help and followed through on running the troubleshooter as admin... It caught and fixed a couple errors, but didn't get the error that is preventing updates [0x80240022].
I have also uninstalled unnecessary apps, as my tab only has 32GB. There is space.
Any help or further suggestions, appreciated!  Thanks

Hi
I have resolved this.

When I changed this, the patches started deploying during the reference image build.
Happy Days :-)

You need to be running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer to sync the iPhone 5; this may require buying a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store. OS upgrades aren't covered by the warranty.

I have been given an Apple 3G which is in jailbreak.  After restoring and updating my phone to get rid of jailbreak the iphone will not accept any updates or restoration. Unknown error 1015. Please help!  I am new to all this and want to start using the phone legitimately.

I believe from the situation you describe your iPhone 3g has the iPAD baseband 6.15.00 which is interfering with iTunes. Remember Apple does not allow downgrade of software typically. The current 3g firmware 4.2.1 has a baseband 5.15.04 which is lower than, what I believe your baseband is of 6.15.00. So to install the current 3g firmware 4.2.1 would actually be a baseband downgrade, which iTunes will not allow. So to fix your iPhone you will have to search the Web like diesel vdub said. There are no parts to buy and your iPhone will work again I promise.

  • HP Laserjet P2015 will not accept firmware update

    Hi,
A laserjet P2015n will not accept a firmware upgrade.
When attempting to upgrade, paper jam led flashes 3 times, pauses for 1 second , flashes 3 times.......led will repeat this pattern even after upgrade is supposed to have completed.
If I cycle the power, the printer returns to ready state but firmware is still at the older version.
User had been experiencing dificulties printing and firmware update might resolve the issues.
Does anyone know of a solution?

The product you have seems to be a commercial printer. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!
You may find the Commercial Laserjet board here.

  • Windows 8.1 Professional x64: Windows will not run Windows Update after fresh install

Greetings everyone.  I'm having a strange issue that I can't seem to figure out.  I'm developing an image with the following specs:
    Hardware:
    Dell XPS 12 Ultrabook Convertible
    Haswell i7
    8 GB RAM
    256 SSD HD
    Software:
    Windows 8.1 Professional x64
    Problem description:
After formatting and partitioning the hard drive (UEFI) with a corporate copy of Windows 8.1 x64, the laptop is booted up in Audit mode.  No OEM drivers or software is installed.  Windows is then activated to the KMS server and verified.
I then connect to a hotspot (no proxy required) and open up IE 11.  I click tools and select Windows Update.  The laptop then searches and searches for updates and never finds any.  I've let it search for over 10 hours.  The laptop never
    returns an error message.
    Troubleshooting performed:
    1.  I've tried different copies of Windows 8.1 - same result.
    2.  I've tried installing the OS with different types of media (external hd and multiple bootable USB drives) - same result.
    3.  I've disable the Windows Update service, deleted the contents of the SoftwareDistribution folder, restarted the Windows Update service and rebooted laptop - same result
    4.  I've installed this copy of Windows 8.1 on different models of laptops with no OEM drivers or software installed - same result.
    5.  I've installed all of the OEM device drivers in the correct order and ensured that the device manager is clear of bang signs - same result.
    6.  Date and time is set correctly.
Has anyone else experienced this with Windows 8.1 x64?  If I take a copy of Windows 7 x64 or 8 x64 and install it on this laptop, it updates Windows without any issues.  The problem seems to be with Windows 8.1.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

  • Win 8.1 Miix 3-830 windows update problem

I received the notice to restart the tablet to finish the windows update, so I did but the tablet took several hours to restart. Then It restarted but now I see that update is stuck at 7% and not increasing at all
The message I got is 'Updating your system (7%)
Can anyone help me to solve this problem..

    Hi,
Since each UI change related to registry keys, I suggest we first modify the related registry key to see if the changes can be kept.
    1. Run regedit to open Registry editor.
    2. Find the SID corresponded to you user account by check USERNAME under HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-****-****-****\Volatile Environment
    3. Locate to following key under your SID: HKU\S-1-5-21--****-****-****\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced.
4, Take ownership on this key:
Take Ownership of a File, Folder, Drive, or Registry Key in Windows 8
    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2808-take-ownership-file-folder-drive-registry-key-windows-8-a.html
    5. To not show hidden files and file extensions, please edit following value as below:
    Hidden: 0x00000002
    HideFileExt: 0x00000001
    6. Let's see if the changes were kept.
If it cannot fix your issue, this issue can also be caused by corrupted user profile, please check if this issue still happened after you create and login with a new user profile.
If the new user profile works fine, refer to these steps to repair your previous corrupted user profile:

  • Acer laptop with disappearing networked C7280 will not accept HP update

I have an Acer Aspire 1810T running 64-bit Windows 7 and a Photosmart C7280 connected by ethernet to my router and accessed via wireless by the Acer. I have had a problem with the printer spontaneously disappearing from Windows; it is occasionaly  simply gone from devices and Printers. When I reinstall using the driver install, it comes back, until the next time. This has hapened about 4 times in 3 months.
I was delighted, then, to find a critical update for the C7280 on the HP site, stating:
" Windows Critical Update to enhance reliability of network connection
This update corrects an issue which causes network-connected printers to disappear from the system"
Perfect!       Or so I thought ...
When I attempt to run the update, I get an error message:
"This update does not support any of the device drivers you have on your PC. You do not need this software update."
    Yes I do!!
Yes, I have uninstalled & reinstalled the printer. Yes, I AM using the correct (and only as far as I can tell) Windows 7 driver for the C7280. And yes, the update is for the Windows 7 on the same C7280 printer.
Any suggestions?  Please help if possible.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest.  I'd try it again after a Windows Update (over and over if necessary) and a reboot.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Not accepting billing updates.

I've been trying to update my billing information all evening. It says that credit card processing is temporarily unavailable. I did a search on the forums and the last person to have this problem didn't seem to get a sufficient answer.
One person said to delete the credit card information (choose 'none') and then return and re-enter the new credit card. I tried this. It still will not accept the new card. I tried deleting the card and entering PayPal - it did this, and let me download some songs, but then PayPal rejected the transaction and now it's saying I owe money. But I can't put in my credit card info...
So I'm in an endless loop. Helpful comments will be very much appreciated.

If it says it is temporarily unavailable, you might as well believe them.
Since you evidently possess a credit card, there are plenty of other online music download stores where you can buy songs that will play in iTunes. Try the amazon.com MP3 Download Store.

  • Can not change windows update time on client PC.

    Hello
Sorry to disturb you. I have a WSUS installed on my server. In WSUS Group policy the scheduled installed day set to - every day, and install time to 3AM, and it set to Auto download and schedule the install. There are couple PC attached to server all
of them running Windows 7. On some machine if I go to Windows Update change settings it shows time for update - Every day at 3AM. But on two PC it is set to Everyday at 10AM. How to change it?
Thank you very much in advance
    Igor

    Hi
Could you please check on that two client corectly get the GPO?
    "gpresult /r"
if that could not get the right GPO(i mean WSUS) then "gpupdate /force" and check again..

  • Enable Microsoft Update (not just Windows Update) for Windows 2008 R2

I am running Windows 2008 R2 in my Citrix XenApp 6.5 farm.
    Office 2013 is installed.
I can't update Office via Windows Update. Why? Take a look at this ridiculous roundabout tautology it takes me through.
Here I am in the Windows Update panel:
If I click "Find out more" to get updates for other Microsoft Updates it takes me here:
Yeah, duh, I was just in there when I clicked the link to get to this site. What's the deal?
How does one enable all Microsoft Updates for a Windows 2008 server. I can do this in 2003 easily by going to the Microsoft Update website. 2008 however, this appears to be impossible and apparently no one else in the world has noticed this.

  • Server 2008 SP2 will not install Windows Updates

    I receive this error:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8000ffff: Security Update for Windows Server 2008 (KB2653956).
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8000ffff: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Server 2008 (KB2675157).
These are two separate attempts to install the two updates listed.  The first time it failed on the IE9 update so I unselected it and tried the other with the error above.  This has been going on for quite some time.  At first it would install
some updates and not others and now it won't install anything.
I have Symantec Endpoint Protection installed, version 11, and the definition files are up to date.  I ran Malwarebytes and it found nothing.
I read a post about a hotfix called System Updates Readiness Tool but my error (0x8000ffff) was not listed as one of the errors and I hesitate to install it.
I am way behind on updates and really need to get this fixed, obviously.  If anyone has ideas, I would like to hear them.  I have not found anything online that is specific to my situation.
    thanks

KB2675157 (MS12-023) is a superseded and EXPIRED update and isn't going to install anywhere at anytime. It's been superseded -18- times since it's original release. You should have KB2809289 (MS14-012 -- released this month) approved/installed for IE9
    on WS2008 systems.
KB2653956 (MS12-024) is from April, 2012, and should have been installed EONS ago (but it has been revised a couple of times, so make sure that you have Revision 103 approved and not an earlier revision).
If the CURRENT updates are failing, then YES, you should download and run the current version of the System Update Readiness Tool from the Microsoft Download Center and implement any remediations recommended by that tool.

  • Old Skype account not accepting Windows Live Passw...

    Hey guys,
I created my Skype account about 6 years ago with the email address which I'm still using today. Well, I bought a laptop with Windows 8.1, which asked me to create a Windows Live account, so I did. I also used the same email address for this. Somehow, my Skype account is now linked with this Windows Live account.
So, here's the problem I'm facing. I want to update my contact detail (adding phone number, adding a new primary email address). So, I open my browser, enter Skype.com, choose to login with my Windows Live account, and all is good up to this point. Upon updating my contact detail, it asks to type in my password to be "extra safe". The problem is, it is not recognizing my Windows Live password! I know for a fact what my password is because I use it everyday when I turn on my laptop. Also, I am able to log into my skype account with my Windows Live just fine, although I did not have to type anything in manually. Skype somehow automatically logs me in after clicking on "Sign in with my Windows Live" button.  And, when I try to log into Skype manually with my email address, it's not recognizing my password there neither. Where is the disconnect?
What password is Skype asking me for when I am trying to update my profile?
Thank you for your help guys!

This is happening to me too. Looks like the old skype password is not overwritten by the new Windows Live password.

  • My computer will not opload windows updates

Recently, when my computer goes to update Windows, many of the updated do not install. I've tried the fixes offered by windows forums, but I wondered if you had any ideas on this.

Hi, it's me again. I went through the history of all my updates failed and succeeded and it looks like at least some of them were actually installed before and then marked as a failure this time. I didn't know that they would try to update you for something you already had - in the sense that they would mark it "failed" and give you an error code - but I'm going to just keep checking. So maybe that is all my problem really is!
