Minolta printers won't print but plain text

It seems a postscript problem as my Minolta 2350 colorlaserwriter only prints postscripts error messages which are a mystery to me. It printed one picture fine and then it went wrong. My Minolta 1250E black/white laserprinter has the same problem. So it's my G4. Tried everything: reinstall drivers, reinstall Tiger, remove antyhing to do with printing. As far as I know I didn't touch my G4 when printing went astray. What am I missing?

I thnik it had to do with the way I installed the printer. I made a new account in which the printer worked fine. Reinstalled again in my own account and it worked fine so I won't change a thing now.

  • Adobe reader shows text but won't print all the text

I have a form used by many and it works with no problem.  Today one came in you could see all the text, but when printed, only some of the text appeared.
I checked it on 3 machines, also one that has Acrobat 9  on it, same results.
On the print setup, under comments and forms, I  have Documents and Markup set,  but if I click on "form field only"  I do get the missing text.
As said we have gotten many forms from other people, no problems, so it really not for lack of knowing how to print it correctly.
The only print preview I can see I have is when I go to print it, it appears on the right, and it is missing the text there.
I have removed all name and address from the form for privacy reason,   I did add my name in a few blocks and then saved it but it won't print that also.
for some reason only the top row under CPR   AED  and SFA print, but as you can see, there are a bunch that don't, along with all the names I removed.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Pages won't print but the printer is connected and will print

Is added the up app for printers. I can get the printer to print but when I ask pages to print a document it says no printer found. Any ideas?

What app are you trying to print with? Not all printing apps will print documents and Pages might be looking for an AirPrint printer.

  • Envelops do not print, but regular text material does print, since upgrading to Yosemite.

I have two HP Printers that connect to my MACBook Pro.  HP5520 an HP6510 mutifunction print, scan, copy.  I have recently upgraded my operating system to the OS X Yosemite 10.10.  Now the print envelop tool does not work.  The envelop feeds through the printer but does not print the addresses.
I just upgraded the HP software but note it was the Mavericks version so do I assume correctly that this bug has not been fixed by HP for Yosemite?

Here is the solution:  I uninstalled the old version of Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 and purchased a new version, installed, updated.  Now word is able to print envelops on my all-in-one.  So the issue was a microsoft bug.

  • Printer won't print pictures, only text

I have an MX452 All-In-One printer. I don't do a lot of printing, and most of what I do is text. Today I tried printing a picture, and everytime I try I get a message stating that the printer is offline. The printer is NOT offline -- I know this because it prints text just fine, even while the "offline" message from the picture is still displayed.
I am going to pick up some ink later today, as the black is a little low, but surely if this were the problem, I wouldn't be getting an offline message...right?
I am using Windows Vista and printing directly from the computer (not from a website), if that's any help.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

    Hi MarkFL,
Since you are able to print text from other programs on your computer, it may be possible that another printer is selected in the Print window of the program that you are printing the pictures from.  Please open that program, then go to FILE and select the PRINT option.  Please ensure that the printer selected in the window is the PIXMA MX452; if it is, also verify that there is only one PIXMA MX452 printer to choose from in the list.  If there is more than one, please try to print by selecting each one.  Once the correct printer is selected, please remove the other printers.

  • Acrobat X Pro won't print but other applications do

I have a Samsung CLP-680ND printer running off the network. I am using iMacs OS 10.6.8.
I'm having trouble printing to this printer from Acrobat Pro, but can print perfectly well from any other application, including Acrobat Reader.
The Print dialog menu shows limited options compaired to other printer connected to my network (which print the pdfs fine) i.e. the 'print on both sides' option isn't there on this printer.
When I go to print i get the error messages 'The document could not be printed.' followed by 'There were no pages selected to print.'
This is really puzzling me, as I would of thought, if it wasn't going to work, then nothing would work, especially Acrobat Reader.
I have tried updating Acrobat, Repairing, Removing and reloading. Tried on another iMac. Connecting via direct usb. Updating all printer drivers & software. Removing all printers & reloading. And have now run out of ideas.
Any one out there having the same problem and fixed it?
    Thanks

Thanks Jeff - what's strange is that I've been prompted a few times since installation to register the software, so I don't know why it would be doing that if it's already registered.
When prompted, I would follow the links to the registration information page, and then work through the registration process, and then when prompted to enter the serial code it does not accept it. I've tried the serial code that came with the license, as well as the serial codes for the individual products (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), and none of those were accepted by the registration form. So "registering to an account which includes your companies information would be sufficient." does not seem to be working for me, unless there is more to "including the companies information" then I've seen in the sign up pages.
To be clear, I'm not fumbling around blindly here, I've done a lot to try and register the product myself and have yet to succeed.
My questions are these (and apologies if this is not directly related to the OT), 1) is there a way to confirm the product is registered, 2) if it is not registered, what specifically do I need to tell the purchasing people to do to make sure it is registered properly, and 3) after following the process here: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/acrobat-failed-launch-30-days.html - does this fix the Acrobat issue for good, or will I have to repeat this process in another 30 days? Does lack of registration potentially affect other products in the Web and Design Creative Suite?
Thanks again for the assistance, I'm hoping to get enough information to be able to give our IT folks a clear resolution to the registration issue.

  • InDesign won't print colors in text boxes

I have been working on a newsletter that includes some charts and tables in it. I put the tables and charts in a text box, and then added a background fill color to it. I exported the document to PDF, and the colors showed up there fine.
The trouble occurs when I try to print the document. The fill color in the box does not show up at all. What can I do to fix that. Thanks for the help.

This sounds more like an issue with the printer driver and the PDF than an InDesign issue, but one way to test would be to try to print direct from ID. Do the colors print correctly then?
What do you see in Acrobat when you turn on Overprint Preview? Is the color still there?
Can you post this PDF on a server someplace so we can download and test it?

  • Two different printers won't print cyan

An eMac running 10.4.4 will not print cyan ink under any circumstances. This is true with both a new Canon and an older HP inkjet printer, each with its own cable and each plugged into a different USB port.
An OS archive and install (involving a return to 10.4.0 and reupdate to 10.4.4 with printer tests at both stages) makes no difference.
Working from a new user account makes no difference.
Printing from different applications makes no difference.
Cartridge changes were of course tried, but made no difference, as you'd expect given that two different printers exhibit exactly the same problem.
All inks other than cyan print perfectly in all cases.
What on earth is going on?

When you go to the Print dialog box, open the third list (normally reads as 'Copies & Pages' by default). Choose 'Color Management', select "Off" to see if that makes a difference when you print.
Also, if the printers have internal (rather than system-based software utilities) self-tests you might want to try them, although I admit it would be a weird coincidence for both printers to sour in the same way at the same time... but stranger things have been known to happen.

  • Documents are sent to printer and act like they are printing but no text prints

when we send a document to the printer, the printer sends the paper through as normal but nothing prints - have tried a basic email, an online bank statement and also a works document.  We have done a nozzle check on the printer and cleaned the printhead but nothing has helped.  We have tried two different printers - a Canon MP490 and an Epson Photo R300

    You're welcome

  • Won't print but 1/2 of the page from firefox, and only show half of page on print preview, but will printwhole page from IE and quickbooks.

When trying to print anything from the Web, only the left portion of the page will print, nothing from the middle to the right of the page showing. It shows this on the print preview. I tried taking it off shrink to fit and it still doesn't show the right half of the page, the print is just larger.
I can print anything from Internet Explorer and from Quickbooks, but not from Firefox. I have downloaded all of the versions up to 5.0. It did print before upgrade, but I don't remember which version actually worked.

That did fix it, thanks so very, very much! I went to the " prints to a small portion of the page" and changed the paper size to A4 like it said and it worked immediately. This was the first time that I found this particular information listed on Firefox after looking at numerous questions/answers. Again, thanks so very much!!!!!!

  • My new (2nd hand) 930C won't print but the drivers installed ok...

I took possession of a 2nd hand HP 930 C deskjet today and was told by the guy who gave it to me that he hadn't tested it so had ni idea if it worked.
I was amazed at thew condition. It came with all the leads and instruction books and it is a step up from my old HP which has worked since the day I got it and has never let me down.
It didn't come with a CD.
Anyway, plugged it in, attatched it to my lappy with the USB lead and it immediately downloaded the drivers.
I chaned the inks (got 2 colour and 2 black and white cartridges with it) and the printer did a test sheet and it was all working.
When I try to print from my lappy nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong please ??
    Hoping someone can help me...
    Many thanks.

Please read this post then provide some details.  What operating system? Are there any error messages when you try to print?
Running the diagnostics at http://www.hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the issue.
