Mixing ssl and non ssl jsp pages.

Hi,
I am new to Weblogic 8.1 and I would like to learn how to setup few jsp pages in https:// and few pages to be served in http:// protocol.
I have created a managed server using 7004 for http and 7040 for https. Currently I have 2 jsp pages index.jsp and test.jsp and both the pages can be accessed using http:// or https://
I wanted to make test.jsp work only with https:// and not work with http:// How do I configure this?
In realtime webapplications. How is switching of http and https working? Are the URL's hard coded in the controller servlet?
Some tips would be helpful.
Uma

Hi,
To do this task do the following,
1. Create a property file in your application. for example let us take myapp.properties
2. include the following to the myapp.properties file
#sslport=7002
#nonsslport=7001
#serverip=127.0.0.1
#ctpath=myApp
# In your case
sslport=7004
nonsslport=7040
serverip=127.0.0.1
# ctpath is the web deployment directory
ctpath=yourapp
3. Create a class to read the property file say PropertyReader.java and implement the following
String sslport=Properties.getProperty("sslport");
String nonssl=Properties.getProperty("nonsslport);
String serverip=Properties.getProperty("serverip);
String cpath=Properties.getProperty("ctpath");
4. initialise the propertyReader class and
in the property class keep following variables in admin session data
String sslpath="https://"+serverip+":"+sslport+"/"+cpath
String nonsslpath="http://"+serverip+":"+nonsslport+"/"+cpath
5. use these variables for ssl or nonssl
response.senRedirect(sslpath+"/bank.jsp"); //for ssl
response.sendRedirect(nonsslpath+"/welcome.jsp"); //for non ssl
like the same way

  • Is it possible to mix italic and non-italic fonts in an axis label?

    Is it possible to mix italic and non-italic fonts in an axis label in diadem reports?

    No, there is no chance to do this.
    You can only use the "Textobjekt" to mix italic and non-italic fonts.

  • 7600 / SUP720-3BXL - mixing fabric and non-fabric enabled line cards

    Dear All,
    I am having to mix fabric and non-fabric enabled line cards on a single chassis.
    These are my line cards:
    WS-X6704-10GE
    WS-X6408A-GBIC
    WS-X6148-GE-TX
    What's the maximum expected throughput in running with mix fabric line cards ?
    Also, what will be the optimal and the recommended switching mode to run (truncated vs. bus-mode) ?
    Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.
    egards,
    ZH

    hi!
    The maximum throughput will depend on the ingress and the egress card for the traffic. i.e. If the traffic is coming on the fabric enabled card and going out on the same, then the throughput is would be equal to the fabric card ( 20 gbps duplex). But if there is a non fabric card either in the ingress or egress path, then the throughput would be limited by the non-fabric card.
    As for the mode to run in, I dont think you would have to worry on that as a fabric card would default to truncated mode where-as the non-fabric cards would run in the bus mode. This works fine, as if the ingress to egress is a fabric card, only the header is sent to the superviser for processing using the tuncated mode and the packet is just sent on the fabric directly to the egress port.
    If there is a communication between fabric-non-fabric cards, then the fabric card still uses truncated mode to get the packet processed by the L2/L3 engines on Superviser and then if the egress is a non fabric card, then the packet is sent over the fabric to the superviser. From there the packet is sent to the egress over the bus.

  • Read a property file value and display in jsp page

    I need a solution for the below mentioned scenario,
    I want to read a value from the property file in JSP page.
    For Example, Let us have a property file called A.properties, in the file, we have a value, username = Sam.
    I want to bring this value in the jsp page.
    Please assist in this issue.
    thanks in advance.

    If you are using struts, then you have to first load the taglib like
    <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/strutsresources/struts-bean.tld" prefix="bean" %>and then access the particular property like
    <bean:message key="welcome"/>Also, you have to define <message-resources> in struts-config. Though I am not into struts for year now, So, please confirm the code.

  • JavaBeans and Tags in JSP pages

    I have a java package and some code that already works but I need to "Webify" it. I have heard the words Tag Libraries and Beans to use with JSP pages instead of writing out the java code in the page. I have read the tutorial on Tag Libraries and it still makes no sense. I need some kind of beginners guide and instruction. I already have the java in the .jar file and have Tomcat setup. I know I need to make a tag library and stuff, but beyond that I'm a bit lost. I'm just not sure where to put what. Also, I did do a practice JSP page but it won't automatically find the jar file - they are in the WEB-INF/lib directory. I actually have to set the CLASSPATH separately by doing export CLASSPATH=.... which I know can't be right - is there a way to do this in the actual JSP program itself - like set the classpath just for that webpage?

    Here's a good basic tutorial that helped me when I was getting started with tags:

    I want to have RSS feed in my JSP page and Blogging as well. Possibly with RSS I can get news and Stock quotes! Does anyone have suggestions? Where can I get more info on this?

    Here is one suggested article that may help.

  • Java compilation and running within jsp page

    hi,
    i need of a jsp page that has a textarea in which the java coding are entered and this coding is compiled and executed. The execution result is printed.
    Please guide me.

    I don't think you can invoke java compiler or run time environment at client side (browser). Even if you use applet, i think you will not be able to do it at client side. Moreover, though java virtual machine will be available in your target user's browser, but you should not expect a java compiler in users machine.
    I have seen exam sites where they have added java code compilation and execution ability. To achieve this you can do:
    1. In your JSP page use text area where user can edit java code.
    2. Provide two buttons - 'Compile' and 'Run'.
    3. On click of 'Compile' send the code to server side. In server machine create a file in a temporary location in disk and save the code content received from client.
    4. Invoke 'javac' command (as a separate process) to compile the java class created in step 3. This process will give you error/output back which you can send back to user.
    5. In case of 'Run' you must first invoke above mentioned 'Compile' service and then another service ('Run') to actually run you java class. You can build 'Run' service in similar way.
    Here you challenge would be managing multiple client requests (to compile and run java class) at the same time.
    Code to compile and run java classes:
    import java.io.*;
    * A class to compile and run java classes.
    * @author Mrityunjoy Saha
    public class JavaProcessor{
         public static void main(String[] args){
              // Option 1 to compile and option 2 to run.
              int option=1;
              if(args.length > 0){
                   option=Integer.parseInt(args[0]);
              JavaProcessor p=new JavaProcessor();
              if(option==1){
                   p.compile();
              } else {
                   p.run();
         public void run(){
              String file="FoodTest";
              String directory="C:/Users/mrityunjoy_saha/Documents/Test";
              executeCommand("java", directory, file);
         public void compile(){
              String file="FoodTest.java";
              String directory="C:/Users/mrityunjoy_saha/Documents/Test";
              executeCommand("javac", directory, file);
         public void executeCommand(String command, String directory, String file){
              try{
                   String[] envp=null;
                   // Make sure that you have done Java setup in your machine.
                   // To test this try invoking javac command in command prompt.
                   Process p=Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command+" "+file,envp,new File(directory));
                   BufferedReader errorStream=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(p.getErrorStream()));
                   String readData="";
                   while((readData=errorStream.readLine())!=null){
                        System.out.println(readData);
                   BufferedReader outStream=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(p.getInputStream()));
                   readData="";
                   while((readData=outStream.readLine())!=null){
                        System.out.println(readData);
              catch(IOException ioe){
                   ioe.printStackTrace();

  • How to break up a huge XML file and generate serialized JSP pages

    I have a huge xml file, with about 100 <item> nodes.
    I want to process this xml file with pagination and generate jsp pages.
    For example:
    Display items from 0 to 9 on page 1 page1.jsp , 10 to 19 on page2.jsp, and so on...
    Is it possible to generate JSP pages like this?
    I have heard of Velocity but dont know if it will be the right technology for this kind of a job.

    Thank you for your reply, I looked at the display tag library and it looks pretty neat with a lot of features, I could definitely use it in a different situation.
    The xml file size is about 1.35 MB, and the size is unpredictable it could shrink or grow periodically depending on the number of items available.
    I was hoping to create a documentation style (static pages) of the xml feed instead of having 1 jsp with dynamic pages
    I was looking at Anakia : http://jakarta.apache.org/velocity/docs/anakia.html , may be it has features that enable me to create static pages but not very sure.
    I think for now, I will transform the xml with an xsl file and pass the page numbers as input parameters to the xsl file

  • Hanging and non loading web pages but random

    Hi New to this so please excuse me if it doesn't make complete sense! We have been on BT infinity since Oct 2011 but we have been experiencing problems with access to certain web pages the pages either do not load or it just hangs, this has now been going on for about 6 weeks but it has now got a lot worse, we have had a friendly IT specialist look at our computer and he is now of the opinion that the problem lies with either the BT line or router, please see below what we/friendly IT specialist have done and please advise if our next step is to speak with BT?
    Thanks Mick
    Issue
    Vista Client Service Pack 2 laptop slow Internet performance failure to access some web pages.
    Known Troubleshooting Approach
    **** One or more combined of these operations would normally resolve in most cases ****
    Initially checked over system settings and allowed pending windows systems updates and other updates.
    Removed Trusteer Rapport software (known issues with slow performance)
    Updated JAVA & Full re-install of Adobe Flash Player (components required for website animations\operations)
    (Note : Adobe Flash Component was not registered)
    Cleared Internet temp files (delete of web files\history\cookies etc)
    Reset of Internet Explorer settings (to address instability issues with Internet Explorer)
    Microsoft Security Essentials (Combined Anti Virus & Anti Malware Software)
    Quick scan (15 mins usually scans core components) -all clear
    Full scan (left to run approx 2 hrs) usually not necessary - all clear
    Reset of router & restarts of router (homehub) over time
    (which included off for more than 15 mins)
    Power off of BT wall device (additional equipment involved with BT set up) and router at same time
    Laptop still slow hard wired to router (as in Ethernet cable from laptop to port on homehub)
    Checked for clean uninstall of Trusteer Rapport software
    (Checked registry which is heart of operating system settings for traces of Trusteer)
    Actually downloaded Trusteer Uninstall ulitility to ensure clean uninstall
    Install of Google Chrome (alternative Internet browser still did not work)
    Uninstall of Google Chrome
    Uninstall of Internet Explorer 9
    Uninstall of Google Desktop
    Uninstall of Mozilla Firefox (alternative browser)
    Also confirmed other laptops (Windows7) & Netbooks experience the same problems

    Hi quinnm5, myself and another poster had replied to your previous thread about the same issue here: http://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity/Broadband-connection-issues/m-p/495109

  • Parse XML and Output to JSP page

    I have a number of XML documents which are all formatted in the same way, just with different information in the fields.
    I wish to parse the XML documents using DOM and output them to an XML page.
    How would i go about doing this?
    If you could write a small example or any websites that you think might help.
    Thanks.

    I have the parsing working but i cant seem to figure out how to get information out of the parsed document and into variables.
    This is a sample of my XML file
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <product code="QB-1226-AB">
         <productName>Professional Floodlights</productName>
         <description>PIR floodlights that are designed for professional installation. A faulty light requiring a return visit will cost far more than a quality light does in the first place. 3 year guarantee.</description>
         <price>120</price>
         <manufacturer>Black and Decker</manufacturer>
    </product>I can get the productCode value out without any problems using
    String name = attrs.getValue("code");
    But if i try the same for any of the others i get null. I can accomplish this using DOM easily but i cant find anything at all about getting values out of it using SAX.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Mix Sync and Non-Synced

    I have looked and looked, and I cannot find a way to have my music automatically synced to my iPod while manually copying videos.
    The main reason for this is that the videos take up way too much space on my hard drive and I'd prefer them on my iPod.
    If this is not possible, it would be a GREAT feature to implement in the future.

    ok, here's a solution for anyone that's interested:
    . create your own lightweight scrollpane class, directly extending java.awt.Container.
    . create your own lightweight canvas classm directly extending java.awt.Component.
    add the MyCanvas to the MyScrollpane and override the paint method of MyScrollPane to do something like this: (where offscreen is a member variable of type java.awt.Image)
    public void paint(Graphics g) {
        if(offscreen == null) {
            offscreen = createImage(getSize().width, getSize().height);
        Graphics og = offscreen.getGraphics();
        og.setClip(0,0,getSize().width, getSize().height);
        //make sure lightweight children of the scrollpane are rendered
        super.paint(og);
        //now draw any overlayed detail over the top
        paintDetail(og);
        g.drawImage(offscreen, 0, 0, null);
        og.dispose();
    }took a bit of hunting around to find out how to do it. what i was doing wrong was trying to paint over a heavyweight component (i.e. a java.awt.Canvas), which you can't do, apparently. here's a useful link that I used:

  • Mixing ECC and NECC (Non-ECC) RAM Modules

    Hi,
    I have a G5 Dual Core 2.0 with a pair of 512Mb Non-ECC (NECC) RAM installed and I want to upgrade to 3Gb. I'm thinking of getting 2Gb ECC modules and discarding the 1Mb NECC installed. But I came across a phrase in the Apple Manual of my G5 that states "DO NOT MIX ECC and NON-ECC Memory Modules WITHIN A PAIR." Does that mean I can mix ECC and NECC within Memory Banks and NOT within a PAIR? Because in that case I won't have to discard my NECC 1Gb and have a mixed 3Gb Memory!? I'm afraid to actually try it so I would appreciate your insights. Thanks much.
    G5 Dual Core 2.0   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Yes. You can mix ECC and nonECC as long as you don't pair the ECC with the nonECC. The computer will just treat all RAM as nonECC.
    You can keep the original memory as long as the two 512MB DIMMs are always paired with each other.
