MM Brazil localization - Mat. origin field used for CFOP at client level

Hello All,
I'm currenctly participating in the implementation of Brazil.
I'm taking care of purchase module.
In the PO, you can find fields necessary to the correct determination of CFOP code. among this fields, you have "Origin".
This field indicates if the goods are provided from the same "tax area", from another "tax area" or from the country.
This field is populated from the material master wher you can find a field 'origin' but at client level.
Problem: how to handle a material bought from different vendor (one local, one outside the country?
I very surpised SAP didn't didn't include this field in the Info record. Does some of you already had this case ? how did you handled the situation ?
I was thinking to modify the logic for the population of the field at PO creation. that system is taking the value from a field stored in info record in priority (that would have to be created). How complex this enhancement could be ?

I am not sure if this change was made already per other customers. I got a couple of messages regarding this subject per month, however is quite complicated. I understand how complicated would be double the materials. The feasible solution would be the split. Is not that complicated, I promise to you!!!
I do not know the points and where exactly the fields are retireved and possible changes points...I am sorry!
I will recomend to you, make lots of regressition tests after finish the deploy of your solution. This is very important, as I said for the Nota Fiscal and have some legal implications. I would work close with a brazilian fiscal law, in order to check the results in genarally: Calculation taxes, accounting documents, Nota Fiscal, CFOP determination, etc...

    Hi,
    Since upgrading to FM10, we have been getting the following error message:
    At least one original filter used for graphics imported by reference is not available, or the imported file's format has changed. An alternative filter may be used if the file is recognized as a grahpic FrameMaker can import.
    None of the grahpics have changed and they all display. The only thing different is FM10 instead of FM9.
    Any ideas on how to fix this probelm? Thanks!

    That's more of an alert than an error.
    We see it routinely when opening FM/Unix documents on FM/Windows.
    It seems to have to do with the platform-specific <ImportHint ...> tags encoded after the <ImportObFile ...> (MIF examples).
    None of the grahpics have changed and they all display.
    Unless an imported object is rendered incorrectly, I wouldn't worry about it.
    This is the first case I've heard of involving Windows to Windows migration, however.

  • Table fields used for basic key figures in report writer/report painter

    Does anyone know how I can find which <u>table field</u> is actually being used for SAP defined <b>basic key figures</b> in report writer report? For example, <b>HSL</b> is a basic key figure for income statement, library 0F1, report 0F-GUVV. It only shows data is coming from table GLFUNCT. How does the report writer program knows which fields to select? What is the logic behind the basic key figures?

    I have now resolved this issue.
    I had to manually update TablesT804B and T804F. 
    I've added entries to T804A in the past without the need to update T804B or T804F manually so it appears that the way these tables work together has changed following an upgrade or application of support packs.

    You can specify a business partner serving as the channel partner of this customer. The channel partner will be automatically displayed in documents created for the customer and this is relevant to customers alone

    A Company Code can be setup more than one Local Currency. For instance, many organizations will setup the Company Code for operations located in Singapore with a Local Currency of Singapore Dollars (SGD). But, they will also set it up with a Local Currency 2 of US Dollars (USD), because Singapore organizations often do trading business in US Dollars. Therefore, when an FI transaction is posted, all identified Local Currency values will be updated to it (there's also a Local Currency 3 too, but it's rarely used - if I recall it was initially setup for EU companies when transitioning to the EURO).

  • Change field used for Mailing Labels

    Hi. I am a new Mac user and I need help with mailing labels. When I print my labels, I want to use a custom field - Label Name - as the first line on the label, rather than the name of the contact. Is there a way to do this? For example, I might have a contact name of Joe Johnson, but I will have The Johnsons as his Label Name for sending holiday cards, etc. I don't want to change all my contact names to these appropriate label names. Is there a way to configure the mailing label to print the custom field rather than the first and last name? Thanks for your help.

    I have this same complaint. Prior to Snow Leopard, there was a feature in Address Book that automatically combined the name on an address book entry with a related name (spouse). I used that feature and adjusted my Address Book so that it worked for me. Unfortunately Apple deleted the feature in Snow Leopard without giving a reason or a tenable workaround. See kb article #HT3952 for details.
    I imagine the feature was deleted because it was somewhat surprising and confusing. Still it WAS a feature and there IS NO WORKAROUND. I investigated writing an AppleScript, but decided it probably couldn't be done. I ended up printed labels this year using a kludgey mail merge with Microsoft Word. A lot of work and still not fully satisfactory.
    Apple, please add a feature to replace the old method!

  • Original iphone used for itunes and now wont sync bc of no sim

    HELP PLEASE.  I had been using this iphone for itunes and decided to get all the pics off so did a restore.  Now it won't let me do anything to it because there is no SIM card in it before.  I could always hook it up and sync before but this time I did a restore and it won't do anything now that its erased.  Please help

    I'm thinking that your problem is not that it will not sync, it is that it will not activate. A SIM card is needed to activate the device. Getting the pictures off just required you to import the, not necessarily perform a restore, but now that you have done that, you need to activate the device. To do that, you will need a SIM.     I have asked a few questions on here and everyone is very helpful thank you
    My current question is related to drop down menus.
    What I want to do is have the end user be able to select the testing item from a drop down menu and all of the values associated with testing that item.
    The associated values will need to be used in the testing function so the test can run properly.
    Things such as offsets, loads, and other values are what I am talking about.
    To clarify...
    have a drop down menu where you can select which item you are testing, and once selected have the associated parameters populate and be used during the test.
    After searcing the forums for a few hours I was un able to find any other question or example similar enough to what I am trying to accomplish

    database using SQL - its just a simple database and is being done
    for a uni project.
    The problem I'm having is I'm trying to use a form as to
    search through a recordset using mutiple criterias - Thats fine.
    Except when it comes to dates....
    I have created the query :...
    SELECT DVDID, TITLE, GENRE, CERTIFICATE, DIRECTOR, ACTORS,
    RELEASE, BRANCHID
    FROM BUCK.DVD
    WHERE TITLE LIKE '%MMColParam%' AND GENRE LIKE '%VarGenre%'
    AND CERTIFICATE LIKE '%VarCert%' AND DIRECTOR LIKE '%VarDirector%'
    AND ACTORS LIKE '%VarActor%' AND DVDID LIKE '%VarDvdId%' AND
    BRANCHID LIKE '%VarBranchID%'
    ORDER BY DVDID ASC
    This works absolutely fine. What I want to do is add the line
    "AND RELEASE BETWEEN 'VarStart' AND 'VarEnd"
    I set the default values as "05-dec-01" and "05-dec-10"
    (which work fine when typed directly into the sql prompt) but I get
    an error that says:...
    "[oracle][ODBC][ORA]ORA-01858: a non numerical character was
    found where a numerical was expected"
    The datatype in the database is definately date....
    Any ideas>??

  • Which WS technology to use for a SOAP client--please help

    Hey guys, I haven't had very good luck getting help from these forums. Hopefully that will change
    So I need to build a webservice client and am investigating technologies. The requirements are that the client submit a specific string (i.e. not specific java objects--rather the request will be passed in as a string) and store the http status code and response body.
    I looked at saaj both the axis and sun implementations--the sun implementation was completely useless. If the http status code is not 200, the client throws an exception (thus I can't get at the response body which I need even in the case of an error). The axis implemention seems more useful, but I can't get the http response code from the SOAPConnection or SOAPMessage objects.
    I looked at Jax WS, but it seems to require a wsdl/xsd and I don't have one.
    Any help, please?

  • What should i use for a chat client?

    My project spec is asking us to write a N-Server/Client chat
    application.
    I think i am pretty much limited to the 1.3 SDK. I woudl go with
    JMS, but that requires an add on. I am pretty much limited to
    writing my own RMI server. If i could get the J2EE SDK and JMS
    woudl that be the best direction to go in? I think i pretty much know
    my answers, but would appreacite input.

    It has to be contained within the Standard Edition 1.3 JDK.

    The Country of origin field is updated with table MCHA. 
    (i.e, Country of origin of the material, it is a key of the country in which the material has been produced. You are legally required to specify the country of origin both for export and import) And
    It is related to Batch Management.
    And
    This information (i.e, country of origin) is used for foreign trade processing in different areas, such as in Foreign trade law and Customs law
    And you can observe this field in Material master (in two different views:  Sales: General /Plant Data (below Foreign trade: Export) & Purchasing data (in Foreign trade: Import) view 
    (the field is very much useful, in the case of Export sales)
    Export: You prove the origin of a material by presenting the certificate of origin. This is issued and controlled by the relevant authority of the issuing country. This authority confirms the origin of a material and the required information with the certificate of origin.                                                                               
    (the field very much useful, in the case of Import procurement)
    Import: The relevant authority of the importing country - usually the Ministry of Economic Affairs - stipulates which regulations regarding customs and foreign trade law have to be observed for the certificates of origin accompanying goods.
    Note: Purpose
    The above filed that is MCHA-HERKL is assigned to Field Groups and that tends to assignment of this field for the batch master data to a field group and thereby influence how the screen is set up.
    -> In the batch master data, every field is assigned to a field group.
    -> Field groups group together fields that have the same technical procedures. If you show or hide a field group using the field selection control, all fields belonging to this group are dealt with in the same way.

  • Account field required for some users, not for others in URM when checking

    I am running into a real show stopper. I have been working in our development database, and have tested checking in content multiple times with no problems. I recently turned it over to my users to begin testing and they can not even check in one document, because they receive an error stating that the account is required. I know just enough to be dangerous, so I am not quite sure how to solve this one. It makes no sense to me that on my check in screen, account is not required and yet on all of my users check in screens, not only is it required, but nothing they enter is accepted as a valid value, so they can't even get past it. I would just as soon not have account show up or be required, but have struggled with making that happen, since it is not a custom metadata field. It appears to be a delivered field used for security purposes? any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
    One more thing that I noticed that may be helpful in diagnosing this is that my profile has no accounts, just #none,#all
    whereas the user's profiles have a number of different accounts listed in their profile. Could this be part of the reason that they are forced to enter an account when checking in content and I am not?
    If so, how can I get around this?

    That´s a little strange behaviour becouse normally the account field is not required as default.
    You could try a global rule setting the Account field not to be required with some IDOC.
    But as you say you´re not using accounts anyway i´d suggest removing it from your server instance.
    In the server\config\CONFIG.CFG file look for UseAccounts=true set it to false and the field won´t bother you anymore.
