Want to know the following:
How do we control the number of concurrent users logged on the database in oracle application server? (w.r.t. config parameters)
Is there another forum better for Oracle App server 10G AS?
Does the size of the log file ( access_log, error_log etc.) matter when it comes to using runtime memory or the application sh9owing blank screen?
If the application shows blank screen for the first time one person logs in every day, may be once a day, whats the best way forward to trouble shoot this?
Kapil R Garg

I've exactly the same problem and would like to know, what's happening. The listed error messages can be seen in "error_log" of the "HTTP_Server".
Further more we encounter sporadic "500 Internal Server Errors", which are gone just on the next click.
Has anyone an idea?
Thanks

sounds like apache or oc4j is getting confused about matching to their respective partners.
I've seen it very very rarely and then AFAIR it was down to vhost misconfiguration

  • MOD_OC4J error messages in Apache log

    Hi,
We're seeing a lot of MOD_OC4J error messages in our Apache error log namely MOD_OC4J_0013, 35, 58, 80, 121, 119, 150, 0207 which appear to indicate a failure of communication from the ohs to the oc4j services. Are these errors documented and what can I deduce from them? I've included a sample of them here

This kind of error messages are OK. They indicate that while the client (web browser) is downloading a file or getting a response from OHS/mod_oc4j/oc4j, it drops the connection to OHS in the middle.
    They should not hurt anything.

  • OC4J intermittently not responding to OHS

We deployed a CRM type system into Production over the last few weeks. We are having the usual environmental issues, but nothing we can't handle. We are however experiencing one very unusual type of behaviour. Every so often, even if the system isn't under load, we get an 'Internal Server error 500' being retuned to the user. The user would try to re-create but could not.
When I look at the OHS (Apache) error_log I see loads of entries like the following :-

There are no errors logged in the OC4J logs. This is really frustrating and is becoming a very, very serious matter.
The box itself has plenty of resources so this, to my mind, should not be happening!!
Has anyone ever come across this kind of problem before? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    The OS is HP-UX 11.1
    App server version - Oracle9iAS 9.0.3
    Many, many thanks in advance.

This issue is still occurring. Does anyone in Oracle have any input on this?
Would the fact that we are consistently using Dynamic includes as opposed to Static includes, have any impact. We have a huge amount of dynamic data that would bring page service method sizes well aboce 64K, that is why we have the dynamic includes. I read that the Request Dispatcher will then have to work overtime to accomodate all the requests.
Seriously, any help on this would be much appreciated.

  • No response message from web cache

    Hi,
We are facing a strange and serious problem with our Oracle infrastructure. We have running a web application that uploads files to the database server. But we have found out that if we try to upload a ZIP file (in the application, uploading a ZIP file means that it uncompresses the ZIP file and copy the zipped files one by one to the database server, therefore this operation can take a while), it comes an error message of the type:
No Response from Application Web Server
We didn't find any especial configuration for a timeout in the application server and http server. We also checked the timeout for the web cache that we also use, and seems to be alright (very much longer that the time to crash). When using the application without going through the Web Cache (calling directly the application server), it works well!!! On the other hand, we thought in a relation between the size of the files and the effort of the application to process them and the "No response", but we have successfully uploaded other documents bigger than the ZIP file. When checking the LOG files of the Web Cache and the Apache and application server, we find the following:
    Webcache

Could it be that the Web Cache sent a request to the application server and because of an unknown reason, it received a response that made it to show the "No response" message. Or could it be that the Web Cache is sending request and not receiving any response from the application server, or that there is some timeout configuration that we didn't find??? Please, help!!!!
    Thanks in advance,
    Luis

We found the core issues was with the number of database connections that were created during load testing. Refactoring the code to reuse the database connections fixed this issue.
    Thanks,
    Dom

  • (Newbie) OC4J errors

    Hi,
I have an application deployed on Oracle 9iAS (9.0.3) on Solaris. My application deploys and runs fine for a while, then after days/weeks I start getting error messages like these in the error log:
[date] [error] [client ip] MOD_OC4J_0058: Failed to handle response chunk data passed in from oc4j via ajp13.
[date] [error] [client ip] MOD_OC4J_0035: After hdndling ajp13 response message, got an invalid value: -2.
[date] [error] [client ip] MOD_OC4J_0121: Failed to service request with network worker: application_14 and it is not recoverable.
[date] [error] [client ip] MOD_OC4J_0013: Failed to call destination: application's service() to service the request.
To me it looks like my workers are dying - does anyone know how to fix this?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    =Per
