Modified Workflow Stuck on In-Progress

I have a modified Approval Workflow where I send emails out to notify the end user when the due date is approaching etc. nothing really fancy about it. I also email when a document has been approved and is rejected. For the Task form I modified it so a
user has to enter comments in for their task before rejecting it. Now, on occasion I have found that all the tasks will complete however, the workflow status is still In-Progress. This has happened very sporadically and very infrequent but it still bothers
me. Any one have any ideas? Could be getting mixed up when I push out a new version of the workflow or Infopath form? Alot of times if I have to make a change to the workflow It will require that the Infopath task forms needs updating. Thanks in advance for
any input!

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that SharePoint 2010 OOTB approval workflow status remains In Progress even after approving the task.
Sometimes in SharePoint Workflow, tasks will get locked and you will not be able to proceed further.
I recommend to update WorkflowVersion of the task to "1".
It seems the task list was somehow messed up, you can create a new task list.
In addition, please make sure the "Assigned to" column property which allows multiple user selections set to "NO".

  • Workflow Stuck

Hi my workflow is currently stuck on in-progress however, my tasks have been completed. I wrote some custom logging into the workflow and noticed that the Current Active Tasks are set to 1. Why would this be? Seems like because the final user is clicking
approve it is not making the adjustment to the workflow variable. Any help would be appreciated. It only happens once in a while.

    Hi,
Is this issue happened on a SharePoint Designer Workflow?
I have seen a similar thread post by you:
    Modified
    Workflow Stuck on In-Progress
Did Linda’s suggestions work for you?
As this issue occurs occasionally, I would suggest you look into the ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred when you complete the workflow.
For SharePoint 2010, by default, ULS log locates in
    "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS"
You can check the ULS log by following these links:

  • Workflow status is "In Progress"

    Hi ,
I have created a workflow which is attached to custom list. Problem with this workflow is , sometimes workflow does not update
status of the workflow in the list.
All tasks associated with workflow are completed but status in list is shown as “In Progress” instead of completed.
    Workflow: state machine workflow
    Environment: Sharepoint2013
Anyone faced this issue or know about the solution , please share the solution.<o:p></o:p>
    Regards,
    Sujeet

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that sometimes your state machine workflow status still stuck on "In Progress" when all the tasks has completed.
The steps in a state machine workflow execute asynchronously. This means that they are not necessarily performed one after another, but instead are triggered by actions and states. In this case, the workflow status may have not been refreshed.
I suggest you can wait for some time and refresh the page to see if the status has changed.
If the issue still exists, I suggest you can check if the workflow has executed the completed state also can track the execute steps with debugging.

  • CSV File Parsing using Nintex 2010 Stucked at "in progress"

I have created a workflow using Nintex 2010 for parsing CSV file and writing to sharepoint list. My CSV file contaning 60000+ records and it's stucked at "in progress" after parsing 5000 records properly.
Is it issue with number of records parsing?

    Hi Shilabhadra,
As Margriet suggested, since the issue is related to third-party product, we do not have sufficient resource here, it would be better you contact their support engineer.
In addition, I found an article about how to bulk upload and synchronize data into SharePoint using the Excel Add-in and SharePoint Designer Workflows for your reference:

  • HT1212 My ipad mini has been crashing a lot recently so I started a system reset. However, it's now stuck with the progress bar less than a quarter gone: this has been the case for several days now. I have tried resetting from itunes but it needs the pass

Now it's stuck with the progress bar less than a quarter full. I have also tried resetting through itunes which works right up to the point where itunes states that it needs the passcode to be inputted into the ipad to connect to it. At which point it then sticks at the same progress bar point. HELP!! please, this ipad is really important to my work.

Well the term "hotlined" I have never heard before. In any case many states (like NY) just passed regulatory powers to the State Public Service Commission of which it may be called something different in your state. You could file a complaint with them. Or file a complaint with your state attorney generals office, they also take on wireless providers.
The problem here is the staff you speak to are poorly trained, in days gone by it took one call to them and they pulled up your account and see the error and had the authority to remove any errors. They did not remove legitimate account actions, but used their heads instead of putting a customer off or worse lying to the customer.
Its a shame you have to go through what you going through.
    Good Luck

  • Workflow status is 'In progress' instead of 'Error'

    Hi all,
In ISU module, most of error message will trigger using message type 'S' (Success).
For example, if the object is locked, it will show message that the object is lock with 'S' (Message).
This problem causes workflow status to be 'In progress' even though it is an error message and transaction stop there.
How can I configure workflow to make in progress to be error? Or set it to be error when it find some success messages that actually are error.
    Thanks,
    Chaiphon

    Thanks for the answers.
    I am on ECC 6.0 ISU/CCS.
This workflow is trigger with standard event of object DISCONNECT and I use its standard method as a task to create an order. However, the returned standard message from the mehod are always 'S' type even though it is an error.
Is there anyways to fix this without copying the standard object and create customized method in order to change message from 'S' to 'E' in case it is an error.
    Thanks,
    Chaiphon

  • Workflow Shows as 'In Progress' after Workflow has been completed.

    Hello All,
I have created a custom workflow using SharePoint Designer. Within this workflow I have multiple 'approval process' tasks. In theory this was so that once the first user had approved the item then the next would be prompted to approve the item, and
so on. The users that the item must be approved by are set when the item is submitted initially.
Just so anyone reading this knows I have no formal experience/education in SharePoint workflow design, but I would like to think I know my way around SharePoint(in general) at this point.
My problem is, the company I work for is just starting out using SharePoint workflows, and from what I understand workflows that are 'In Progress' are related to server performance. I noticed today that there are 5 items in the list which
under the 'workflow status' column display that they are 'In Progress' which is entirely correct. However, when I go to -> 'List Settings' -> 'Workflow Settings' this workflow is showing 8 workflows 'In Progress'.
Thank you to anyone who is able to help me with this,
    James

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that workflow shows as 'In Progress' after Workflow has been completed.
To send the task one by one, you can select one at a time(serial) when you select Task Process Participants.
Per my knowleadge, when you go to -> 'List Settings' -> 'Workflow Settings', it show all the workflows you associated to the list.
To see the running workflow, you need to select an item, right click the title, and then select the workflow.
However, each workflow enstance can only start once on an item.  In other word, you can not start the same workflow again untill the previous one is completed.
As you said, workflow shows as 'In Progress'.
Please make sure all the users have approved the tasks.

  • HT1725 music download seems to be stuck, not making progress

music downloads seem to be stuck, not making progress

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store, then.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • Blackberry 9850 stucked on load progress 3/4

    Dear all community friends,
i have a problem with my bb 9850 ,, it happened when it stucked on loading progress reach 3/4 line ,, sometimes it reload again n sometimes its just stopped right there.
The problem happened when my bb 9850 failed on wipe data , after that my blackberry is dead. Any body can help me ?? I had tried to rewipe data using bbsak and reinstal os via apploader ,, but the same problem is still occuring ...

Finally! Thank you. So, we now know that it's your BB that is the problem. Now we can finally proceed to see if we can figure out why.
First, try Safe Mode and see if it will come up OK:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
If it does, then think carefully about what happened just before this behavior started. A new app? An update? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest thing could be causal...and undo whatever it was in the hopes that it'll cure it.
Failing that, you may need to attempt reloading your OS cleanly if it has become somehow corrupted (and also assuming that the BB itself is not somehow physically damaged). But let's see if you have results from Safe Mode before we proceed here.

  • New error when trying to modify workflow in Firefox

We are suddenly getting an error in Firefox when trying to modify workflows or attribute access control (so may be java related). For years we've had no issues but now when attempting to modify a workflow a popup error box is displayed stating "Access denied. Please reload your browser and contact your administrator for more information." The same action using Internet Explorer works fine. Has anyone else encountered this and found the issue?

I have experienced this problem as well and have a solution that worked for us.
I started experiencing the same error message ""Access Denied. Please reload your browser and contact your administrator for more information." when attempting to edit a workflow. This problem started after I had edited the following three files:
    ad_exclude_attrs.xml
    exclude_attrs_config.xml
    exclude_attrs-ad.xml
    these files are located in:
    %OAM directory%/identity/oblix/data/common
I had edited these files in an attempt to gain access to some other attributes in AD via OAM. Once I had removed some entries in these files related to the attributes I was interested in, the error message began to appear.
I was using Internet Explorer 8.
Restoring the above three files to their originals and restarting the Identity server resolved the issue.
    I hope this helps,
    Ian

  • I have just switched on my new 5s and gone through the intro sections. After entering my apple id, I selected the icloud update I wanted it to use (from my 4s). It is now stuck on the progress bar screen. What can I do?

I have just switched on my new 5s and gone through the intro sections. After entering my apple id, I selected the icloud update I wanted it to use (from my 4s). It is now stuck on the progress bar screen and has been for hours. Can I get it back to the original settings? I want to set it up as a new phone, until I can get on to a better wi-fi signal. Any help would be great.

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Content is being distributed to the distribution point - stuck at "In Progress"

I have Windows Updates due to be installed on all international machines tonight at 12 AM, and our main distribution point gets the files just fine. Our international sccm server, however, is not.
I'm get the "In progress" on the Content View under Monitoring, but it has been sitting like that for over 8 hours. I know there are a ton of logs in the C:\Program Files\SMS_CCM\Logs location that are constantly updating.
Is there a log in there I can attach or show to help determine what's going on? There are so many logs. However, this is a very serious issue, and I don't know what's going on. It worked just fine, then last months worked, except for the fact that after
about a week, it would say that the content "Failed" on the second sccm distribution point. And now, this month's updates are stuck on "In Progress" on copying it over.
Please let me know what I can look into, as soon as possible.
    Thank you!

  • Workflow stuck in starting state after applying SharePoint 2010 CU December 2012

I have custom visual studio workflow which are associated with Custom content type. workflow gets triggered automatically when a file is uploaded to SharePoint. Everything was working fine till when i apply the following CU
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/joerg_sinemus/archive/2012/12/27/sharepoint-2010-and-december-2012-cu.aspx
After applying this my workflow get stuck in "Starting" state.
No error were logged in 14 hive logs.
    Thanks in Advance!

It took me a while but I came up with a work around.  There is a PowerShell script below that can be used to trigger the workflow.  Hopefully this will hold all of us over until the official fix arrives.
First remove the auto start on change or new from the affected workflow
Edit the script below to match your environment
Add the script to Windows task scheduler with the PowerShell.exe in the command line
This assumes PowerShell.exe is in the path
Then add the full path and script name in the add arguements text box
    Script:
#The purpose of this script is to start the SPD workflow with the windows task scheduler for a trigger
#This should avoid the check in-out issue caused by the December 2012 SP CU patch
#This needs to be run on an account with membership in the farm administration group for SharePoint and Shell in SQL
#You can use a find and replace to replace the server and other names with your actual names
#There are no status messages being used since this will be a scheduled task in the Windows task scheduler
#Add SharePoint modules and create variable space
    add-pssnapin microsoft.sharepoint.powershell
    start-spassignment -global
#Open the web site, list and the workflow
    $site=get-spsite %site url%"
    $web=get-spweb %Web url%
#Open the %affected% library or list and workflow association
    $%affected%=$web.getlist("%affected%")
    $manager=$site.workflowmanager
    $culture=[system.globalization.cultureinfo]::currentculture
    $wfname="%affected workflow name"
    $association=$%affected%.workflowassociations.getassociationbyname($wfname,$culture)
    $data=$association.associationdata
    $wfrunoption=[microsoft.sharepoint.workflow.spworkflowrunoptions]::synchronous
    #Start workflow
    foreach ($item in $%affected%.items) {
    $site.workflowmanager.startworkflow($item,$association,$data,$wfrunoption)
    stop-spassignment -global

  • Getting workflow status is "IS PROGRESS"

Hi guys...... I have created a workflow in sharepoint designer 2010 in which i have used "Pause for 0 days, 0 hours, 5 minutes" condition but my workflow is stuck "INPROGRESS" state and it is showing description "pausing
    for 5 mins".any answers guys????:)

    Hi Tarique,
Since you are posting the thread related to SharePoint 2010 Designer workflow to SharePoint 2013 forum, are you using SharePoint 2010 workflow in SharePoint server 2013 envrionment or 2010 envrionment?
Please access Central Administration > Application Management > Manage services on server, switch to your server and All view, restart Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Workflow Timer Service. Test if the issue still exists.
If it still doesn't work, please access Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions, check if the Workflow, Workflow Autocleanup, and Workflow Failover timer jobs are working well in your web application. Try to make
Workflow timer job to be scheduled to run every 1 minutes to test the issue again.
