Modify repeat_interval for Auto Sync Jobs

Is it "permitted/supported" to modify the repeat_interval for Auto Sync Index jobs created when using the syntax SYNC(EVERY "SYSDATE + 30/86400") which give a repeat interval of 30 seconds
I do not want to have partitions older than a (sysdate-3) days and none greater than "sysdate" to be running. I create new partitions daily and so would like to start/stop partition jobs for the sync window. If I get data outside the window, say 7 days old, then I would run that specific partition sync manually.
Is there a way to define the interval to be a moving window?
Regards

There is a Job created for each partition. There is a repeat_interval parameter set for the Job from the SYNC(EVERY ...) The memory and degreel_parallel parameters go into the Job PLSQL definition
If you change the index then the value in the parameters column from user_ind_partitions only has the most recent value (it seems) and eventually it can get confusing.
REPEAT_INTERVAL is a JOB thing and modifying that works just as well **and** keeps the parameters values intact as when the index was created.
Also, I found **and** it could be something in the syntax I had, that if I had loaded data and the job had not kicked in yet, I could not modify the index for any partition. We load data continuously and we have daily*4 partitions (for 5 years). So quite a few partitions and Jobs. Disabling a Job would be much simpler.

  • Apple TV auto sync inoperative since 2.3 update

I have an Apple TV setup with the following components (most all Apple pieces):
iMac G5 with Enet connection to
Time Capsule (router) with wireless connection to
Apple TV, a laptop PC, and iPod Touch
My software versions are: OS X 10.5.5, iTunes 8.0.2, Apple TV 2.3
I only use my Apple TV as a source for music and photos played on my A/V system. This has worked well for about a year. I had some time ago synced a sizable music collection and photos from my iMac to the ATV and have left it connected for auto sync ever since. When I added music or photos on the iMac, it would do incremental syncs to the ATV so that the new music and photos were then available on the ATV. Sometime, around the time of my installation of ATV 2.3 software, all syncing to the ATV stopped, even though the configuration of ATV still shows it set up for that. In addition, the ATV will not appear in the Device list in iTunes, except when I make a streaming connection. The ATV Main/Settings/Computers dialog shows the name of my iTunes library, with the sync icon (chain links), and an ATV icon. The library name text appears to be grayed. This dialog also shows “Add Shared iTunes Library >”. To troubleshoot the problem, I have used that function to raise the box that shows a passcode. I can go thru that procedure at the iMac and connect my iTunes library for streaming. The ATV dialog then addss my iTunes library name under “Add Shared iTunes Library >”, and is white text (not gray) and all streaming works perfectly. In that mode I can use the ATV to access the newer music and photos that are on the iMac and the ATV appears in the iTunes device list, but only for streaming (Summary & Photo tabs only).
I have not changed anything about this configuration for about a year, except for the download and installation of newer versions of software as they became available. All other aspects of wired and wireless networking are working perfectly. My Time Capsule router continues to share a DSL internet connection between my iMac and a PC. I can also establish a wireless connection with a Powerbook and with an iPod Touch (which I use as a remote for the ATV – but not for the problems and troubleshooting described here). Streaming between the iMac and the ATV works just fine as described above. I can also stream iTunes from the Powerbook to the ATV. I believe the evidence points to a failure to auto sync introduced with the installation of the ATV 2.3 software.
    What I have tried:
    1) Reset the ATV
    2) Restart the iMac
    3) Power down all hardware: iMac, Time Capsule, ATV, DSL modem
    4) Set up a streaming connection – works fine, as described above, including access to internet radio
I have been very reluctant to disconnect the sync (which sounds like it deletes all the existing data on the ATV) and doing a new sync, since it will take a long time and seems very likely that it will not work and will only leave me with an empty ATV.
It seems that similar problems suspected to be the result of the 2.3 update have been reported on this forum. Any ideas on what to do next would be greatly appreciated.

I resolved this issue by disconnecting the existing sync and going through the whole sync process again. So far this is working as hoped.

  • Chnage from auto sync to manual ? help

a friend gave me an iphone 4 and set it up for auto  sync. however i do not want to erase whats on my phone. ive followed the sync on the apple sit how to and when i click on this i phone and go down to options the auto synce is  blanked out and so i click manuel manage.  a box appears that says this phone is synced with another itunes libarary on tower do you want to erase. and i couldnt find an add to button.  we have all had a go at working it out and have downloaded itunes a couple of times. my son also has an ipad andi get his games too. please can you help me out? non of my friends have anything apple and i have wasted weeks trying to sort this out and probably making it all worse.

You should always wipe the iPhone first if it's from a friend.
Read here on what your friend should do:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5661
Switching between manual and automatic, will always wipe the iPhone content first before a sync take place.

  • Auto sync for all accounts?

Under Settings > Mail > Auto Sync, I have selected Every 15 minutes. I assumed that this would sync ALL of my accounts and ALL of their subfolders, every 15 minutes. It seems that it only syncs the last active folder in the last active email account. This is not at all what I was expecting. Since Auto sync is a general mail setting, it would be very misleading to have it only act on the last active account and folder.
Is this how it was intended to work? Is there something wrong with how I set this thing up?
Any help here would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hallo Michael,
What you describe is actually exactly how Skype Manager works:
You start with purchasing Skype credits on the Skype Manager group account and set up the manager account to auto-top up on low balance.
You can then enable members of the Skype Manager group to receive credits from this manager credits pool and have them set up individually for auto-top up from that source as well
See also this FAQ article: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA633/what-is-auto-recharge-in-skype-manager-and-how-does-it-work

where we have to configure in CPI to get the new versions immediately?
    thanks!

Make sure you have completed the recommended preparation steps given in Before You Begin Installing the Patch.
If you are not using the Prime Infrastructure High Availability (HA) feature, follow the steps in Installing the Patch instead of the steps below.
If your current Prime Infrastructure implementation has High Availability enabled, follow the steps below to install the patch. You must start the patch installation with the primary server in “Primary Active” state and the secondary server in “Secondary Syncing” state.
Patching of the primary and secondary servers takes approximately one hour. During that period, both servers will be down. If you have trouble at any point, see Troubleshooting Patch Installs in HA Implementations.
Step 1 Ensure that your HA implementation is enabled and ready for update:
    a. Log in to the primary server using an ID with Administrator privileges.
    b. Select Administration > System Settings > High Availability , The primary server state displayed on the HA Status page should be “Primary Active”.
    c. Select HA Configuration . The current Configuration Mode should show “HA Enabled”.
    d. The Failover Type must be set to “Manual” throughout the patch installation. If Failover Type is currently set to “Automatic”, select “Manual” and then click Save .
    e. Access the secondary server’s Health Monitor (HM) web page by pointing your browser to the following URL:
    https:// <ServerIP> :8082
where ServerIP is the IP address or host name of the secondary server.
    f. You will be prompted for the authentication key entered when HA was enabled. Enter it and click Login .
    g. Verify that the secondary server state displayed on the HM web page is “Secondary Syncing”.
    Step 2 Download the patch:
    a. Point your browser to the software patches listing for Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1.
    b. Click the Download button for the Release 2.1.2 patch file (pi212_20141118_01.ubf), and save the file locally.
Step 3 Install the patch on the secondary server:
    a. Access the secondary server’s HM web page by pointing your browser to the following URL:
    https:// <ServerIP> :8082
where ServerIP is the IP address or host name of the secondary server.
    b. You will be prompted for the authentication key entered when HA was enabled. Enter it and click Login .
    c. Choose the HM web page’s Software Update link. You will be prompted for the authentication key a second time. Enter it and click Login again.
    d. Click Upload Update File and browse to the location where you saved the patch file.
    e. Click OK to upload the patch file.
    f. When the upload is complete: On the Software Upload page, verify that the Name, Published Date and Description of the patch file are correct.
    g. Select the patch file and click Install . When the installation is complete, you will see a popup message confirming this.
    h. After the installation is complete on the secondary server, verify that the Software Updates page shows:
    – In the “Installed” column: A “Yes” opposite the listing for this patch.
    – In the “Pending Restart” column: A “Yes” for the secondary server. Do not restart the secondary server at this point.
Step 4 Install the patch on the primary server:
    a. Log in to the primary server using an ID with administrator privileges and choose Administration > Software Update .
    b. Click Upload Update File and browse to the location where you saved the patch file.
    c. Click OK to upload the patch file.
    d. When the upload is complete: On the Software Upload page, verify that the Name, Published Date and Description of the patch file are correct.
    e. Select the patch file and click Install . When the installation is complete, you will see a popup message confirming this.
    f. After the installation is complete on the primary server, verify that the Software Update page shows:
    – In the “Installed” column: A “Yes” opposite the listing for this patch.
    – In the “Pending Restart” column: A “Yes” for the primary server. Do not restart the primary server at this point.
Step 5 Stop the servers in the following sequence, using the commands explained in Running Commands:
    a. On the secondary server, run the ncs stop command.
    b. On the primary server, run the ncs stop command.
Step 6 Re-start and monitor the servers in the following sequence, using the commands explained in Running Commands:
    a. On the secondary server, run:
    – The ncs start command to restart the secondary server. Wait for the processes on the secondary to restart.
    – The ncs status command to verify that the processes on the secondary have re-started.
    – The ncs ha status command to verify that the secondary state is “Secondary Lost Primary”.
    b. Once the secondary server is in “Secondary Lost Primary” state: On the primary server, run:
    – The ncs start command to restart the primary server. Wait for the processes on the primary to restart.
    – The ncs status command to verify that the primary’s Health Monitor and other processes have re-started.
Once all the processes on the primary are up and running, automatic HA registration will be triggered. This normally completes after a few minutes.
Step 7 Once registration completes, verify the patch installation as follows:
    a. Run the ncs ha status command on both the primary and secondary servers. You should see the primary server state change from “HA Initializing” to “Primary Active”. You should see the secondary server state change from “Secondary Lost Primary” to “Secondary Syncing”.
    b. Log in to the primary server and access its Software Update page as you did earlier. The “Installed” column should show “Yes” and the “Pending Restart” column should show “No” for the installed patch.
    c. Access the secondary server’s Health Monitor page as you did earlier. The “Installed” column should show “Yes” and the “Pending Restart” column should show “No” for the installed patch.

  • PFCG authorization sync job has been running for over a day?

We have installed GRC10 with NWBC and are attempting to run the initial PFCG authorization synchrozniation using transaction GRAC_AUTH_SYNC.  It was set to run first followed by the Repository object sync for users, profiles and roles however the initial PFCG authorization synchrozniation is still running over a day later.
There has been no error yet but wanted to check with everyone how long it should take, if there are any known errors and if the process followed in the SAP GUIDE below is correct.
    Synchronize PFCG Authorization Data
    1. Execute transaction GRAC_AUTH_SYNC.
    2. Select a variant (optional) and click Execute.
    3. Enter the system connector ID to execute the User Master Data synchronization.
    4. Enter the connector language.
    Thanks

You can check the background process running in SM50 transaction.

  • Question on iOS 5 for iOS developers-managing auto syncs?

A question for any iOS developers out there with access to the iOS 5 Beta release:
My wife and I share a single iTunes account on our 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, & 2 MacBooks.  My question is--With all the auto-sync features of iOS 5 (calendars, contacts, bookmarks, photos, apps, etc.), how will we be able to select which features we want synced on each device?  Do you know if there are settings to allow her info to be synced to her MacBook, iPad & iPhone, and my info to only be synced with my MacBook, iPhone & iPad?  Or will we have to open an iTunes account for her?--which means we wouldn't be able to share apps, etc.  Any idea how this might work?  -Bob in Austin-

I also think this is more iTunes related than iOS5 or iCloud related. I think there is a iTunes preview freely available since I am pretty sure I downloaded it. I think I have new iTunes related Settings on my iPad under Store. These probably address some of your questions. Since I have not attempted to get iOS5, these settings are not the result of that. I am assuming anything I have is something that is okay for the general consumer to have.
My guess is that all of the things you mentioned will be managed through the iTunes application on your Mac or PC. This may change as the new Store apps are released to the iOS devices. If I am not mistaken, some of the apps have already been updated. Your iTunes account is not going to be OS specific and with the exceptions of your iOS apps, the media you download will not be OS specific. You have specific settings for each iOS device in your computer copies of iTunes, correct? Probably a good plan would be to designated which devices are going to be part of your beta testing and use the machines accordingly.

  • To what extent does auto-syncing work...?

I have researched this but can not find the answer anywhere.
I need to know to what extent does auto-syncing work?
I started my library quite some time ago, and I didn't want to use the auto-sync feature. My library has grown very large and to be honest, I still wouldn't mind doing the manual syncing if my behavior and/or needs hadn't changed. However, I am now going back and adding artwork and making some slight modifications to several songs. Overall, through one type of change or another, this will affect the vast majority of my library. What I need to know is if I were to make info-related changes, will the syncing make the modifications on the ipod, or will they be ignored?
For instance, here are some of the types of changes that I am beginning to make:
    - Adding Artwork.
    - Changing a track name from "Living in a box" to "Livin' in a box"
    - Adding info to the various fields such as album author, comments.
    - Modifying a track name from "Love is a Battlefield" to "Love Is A Battlefield"
    - Changing an album name from "Miami Vice Soundtrack" to "Miami Vice [Soundtrack]" or "Shrek (Soundtrack)" to "Shrek [Soundtrack]"
    - Updating an artist's name from "Jackson Five" to "Jackson 5"
Any insights would be most appreciative.
    Bill

While in Manual sync, any changes you make in iTunes will not get put onto the iPod until you drag the songs over.
Any changes you make on the iPod thru iTunes will not be on the original in iTunes.
    Any rating,
Any reason you are using manual sync instead of Auto sync?
If you don't want (or can't) to put everything in iTunes on the iPod, use selected playlists and manage those playlists.
When you make changes to the songs in iTunes, they will get updated onto the iPod automatically.

  • Sync'd iPhone 5 two days ago, all fine.  Plugged in y-day to charge and phone attempted to auto sync...iTunes now says unable to sync bc I need an extra 27GB of storage to copy iTunes Library.  I have not made any changes to my settings.  Any ideas?

I sync'd iPhone 5 two days ago w/o any issued or problems.  Connected phone to iMac for a charge yesterday and iTunes stated an auto sync.  iTunes popup box appeared stating phone could not be sync'd b/c I needed an additional 27GB of storage, apparently to load iTunes Library.  I did not change or modify any settings.  Has anyone experienced this or know how to solve this syncing issue.
Side note: iTunes does recognize that my phone is plugged in, charging.   Thank you.

One additional finding this morning ... iTunes can't handle my iPad being connected.  Immediately upon recognizing the iPad, iTunes comes up with the same message as happens with the iPod indicating "iTunes has stopped working," forcing an immediate shut down of the program.  Opposite the case with my iPod, iTunes at least recognizes my iPad.
    No idea.  This is madening.

  • Auto Sync (please he

I have some questions about this procedure. I'm Using my Zen with Windows Media Player, i find it better than Mediasource(i think). When it auto syncs for the first time, it says on the info: Syncronizating: Full Music, Music added i the last month, Music rated with 5 stars and so on. The thing is, when he's adding the FULL music, why it has the other ones pending for adding, I don't get it, The full thing means all the others. well. Whats the meaning of playlist when the Sync works. Cuz it says, Playlist: Full music, it will add a playlist with the hole music, i think playlists are for specific criteria. Overall i dont get a lot of the autosync stuff. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Victoria,
Thanks for the reply - my frustration comes because i can't fathom why adobe would share a button between such often used, but totally different actions. This, when the button to the right (Reset) i hardly if ever use! It makes me think that the people in charge are 9-5's / slackers / never use the app themselves / couldn't give a 'monkeys'
Say what you like about Steve Jobs, he had passion and integrity - and this decisision (which has been doing my brain in since Lightoom 1 - as i recall) would never have got out the door on his watch!
I'll have a go at your solution - which sadly is just ignoring the button for one of it's uses!!
Hey ho! I love LR, but this 'feature' does my brain in!
    Thanks again,
    Slater

  • Auto Sync - Invokes synchronization

    Hi All,
I am developing an application that would have AutoSync publication items in it. I was able to make out the setup of these properties of the publication items from the documentation of Oracle Lite.
I was successfully able to setup the Autosync publication and any record commit on the device was able to be propagated to the server as soon as the record is committed.
What I also could infer from the document is, the same way any record commit on the server and after MGP Compose phase, the records are synchronized to the client.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12095_01/doc.10302/e12090/sync.htm#BCGJDCCD
But I could not get this happening. The records after they are modified are in the Out Queue, but donot get to the device until a normal manual sync or autosync of that table occurs from the device. Else the records are just there in the Out Queue and are not sent to the device. What I expect from the statements in the document is, after there are records in the Out Queue greater than the threshold value, the records should get synchronized to the client without the client having to initiate any synchronization.
If anyone had worked with this, could you please help me out on this.
    TIA, Aravind

I used the MDK to configure the auto sync settings. I used the Mobile Database Workbench for this.
I had set the autosync rules at the publication level, as to "Synchronize if the out queue contains 1 or more modified records ". I was able to see the setting in the Mobile Manager screens also.
Since I had set up the rule only for the server side, the autosync agent does not show the last sync status. I had synchronized many times after setting up this rule and there are also extra metadata tables created on the device after this synchronization.
