Modifying image in Header

Hi,
I am working on replacing the Plumtree image in the Header with our corporate logo. I replaced the Plumtree image in the \imageserver folder with our logo image. And now the Header displays the corporate logo. But it still needs to be resized so that it fits well with everything else on the page. What files do I have to edit to customize the Header?
I don't want to use the Content Server Header portlets yet (as mentioned in the Plumtree 5.0.2 UI Customization Guide), because we are not going to deploy Subportals or Communities in this release. Can I just edit the files that render the Header to make the above image change?

Create a .htm/.html page with your logo and anything else you want in it. You can use PT Transformer tags to make it more "dynamic" http://www.plumtree.com/edoc/index.asp?pagename=Customizing/Portlets/Adaptive_Portlets/Quickstart_TransformerTags.htm. They can put user/page specific info in the html without any special considerations by you.
Make sure that .html file, and any images it points to is visible by the portal server. Then create a portlet web service and a portlet that points to it (make sure it is gatewayed). Make sure you set the type to a header portlet. This is basically what the content server wizard does for you. Content Server gives you library services and an easier interface to make changes.
Last, you need to set the default subportal to use the header you created. Even if you are not going to deploy subportals, you will need to have the default subportal.

Export gives "Unable to create" error,Can't EXPORT or SHARE modified images

I am running iPhoto 8.1.2 and I cannot export or share any images I modify.
Upon editing images (cropping or enhancing color profile), I am unable to drag and drop images to my desktop (gives a "∅" symbol) which I used to do all the time. I cannot export them - iPhoto gives an error: "Unable to create" filename error...
If I look at the "Show file" and verify the contents of the folder, none of the images I have modified appear there. If I look at "Show original file" all the original files are there but do not have my edits/cropping, etc. Where are my modified images going and how can I get to them? iPhoto seems like it is getting Alzheimer's or something...
I have tried closing and re-opened iPhoto and all the images thumbnails appear to be ok with my updated crops/enhancements. Double-clicking and opening them opens files with the correct edit/enhancements. Everything seems ok until I try to export or share any of the modified photos.
I tried rebuilding iPhoto and selecting the first 4 options but after the rebuild the problem still persists...
None of the files that I cropped/enhanced appear in the "Modified" folder for that date. There are some files there, but they appear to be files that I deleted!
So, where are my cropped/enhanced photos going??? iPhoto shows them ok in the Events, etc. but they are not in the "Modified" folder and I cannot export, drag/drop, email or share them...
This has been happening to me for awhile now and it is very frustrating. iPhoto is ok so long as I don't do any cropping or enhancing. If I do that, then it gets all screwed up...
I know that I can use something like "iPhoto Library Manager" to rebuild stuff but I don't want to lose any of my data. I have done extensive work with faces, places, attributes, names, etc...
I JUST WANT iPHOTO TO WORK LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO AND LIKE IT USED TO!

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair Library permissions.
If the permissions have been mucked up somehow, it's likely that your edits have not been saved.
If the fails:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

How to transfer both original and modified images to another computer?

Hi,
I've been trying to figure out if there is a way to copy items between iPhoto libraries in two different computers.
Basically I've got a desktop mac and all my digial images are sorted in the iPhoto library there. This is where I want to keep them as the disk is a NFS-mounted RAID-array adding a bit more security.
Now I've got a macbook pro as a travelling companion. To avoid a huge project later in sorting and editing the pictures, I'd like to do that in pieces while abroad. So I'll edit the pictures already in the macbook and also would like to sort out what stuff to publish by creating albums containing the best pictures.
But how to preserve all that when coming back home? How do I export the stuff from the macbook so that it preserves both the original and modified image and also any comments I've added? And then how to import all this to the mac mini? When I'm at home, both the computers can access the same NFS server so transferring the data is not a problem.
I can of course export the pictures to a folder, copy that folder to the shared disk and then import in the mac mini. But export seems to export only the modified image so I'll lose that if doing it that way. If I just copy the files to the modified/original -folders in the mac mini, the index files of the mac mini lack the information about the new pictures as they were not properly imported.
Is there any way to do this? I can't just copy all the stuff including index files as then I'd lose track on the 10000+ pictures already in the iPhoto library of the mac mini.

It seems to be a little buggy. My first test import seemed to be ok but it didn't copy any of the modified pictures. It seemed to put some originals to the modified folder but not the real, modified ones. Second try seemed to work, though.
Anyway, this seems to be what I've been looking for.

Image in header of PDF - Web Template

My client want's to have the company logo in header of PDF generated of web template how can i achieve the same.
If i go through the Export wizard in the web template then i have limited options for header display wherein i can't set image in header. Is there any function's or something else which can help me to display image in header.

You can create print versions of BI applications. To do this, you first export the selected Web application in PDF format. You can then print the PDF version. A dialog is provided to support you in creating print versions. You use this dialog to specify the layout of the print version.
Note that when printing Web applications, it is only possible to export and print the following Web items:
●      Analysis
●      Chart
●      Maps
●      Report
●      Information Field
●      List of Exceptions
●      List of Conditions
●      Text
You cannot print MIME objects or other Web items. If you want to print MIME objects (such as logos) that you have inserted into a Web template, you must insert the relevant MIME object into the Web application by using the Report Web item.

If-Modified-Since HTTP Header

Does anyone know if BC supports the if-modified-since http header? If it doesn't - how to add it to a BC webpage?
In google guideline for SEo it states:
Make sure your web server supports the If-Modified-Since HTTP header. This feature allows your web server to tell Google whether your content has changed since we last crawled your site. Supporting this feature saves you bandwidth and overhead.

I hacked the Servlet myself so that it honors the if-modified-since header and returns HTTP-304 if the cached version is still ok.

Problem with ScrollingImagePanel. I can't refresh the modified image.

The way to find out is look under project info again. If it gives you an option to switch to double layer disc, like it does with me. Then that signals that your computer can handle them. Thats what I remember reading anyway.

When updating a modified image, why is my scaling among changing?

Hello,
I have a catalog and I am updating modified images. The scaling is getting weird ... For example, an image that was scaled 65% is now coming in at 68% and out of position?
I have the preference set to make sure relinked images come in the same scale?
Does anyone else know what would cause this? I see the retoucher changed the size of the image slightly, but should it still come in at 65%? And then I would reposition?
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

You can change this in your InDesign preferences. Uncheck Preserve Image Dimensions When Relinking

A3 - No import of modified images from iPhoto

Hi All,
Just imported my iphoto library into a fresh Aperture 3 library. All events came over fine, except that only the original photos were imported, not the modified. In Ap 2, modified iphoto images got imported as "iphoto edited".
Any ideas how to get around this? Thanks

I have the same issue. I have somewhere around 2,000 modified (i.e. edited) images and only around 20 of those got picked up in the import and appear in stacks with their originals.
Curiously, if rather than importing the iPhoto library I import a specific event all the original and modified images are properly imported and stacked.
I suspect the issue comes from a corrupted iPhoto library but I've tried rebuilding the library and the result is the same.
At this point, I guess the manual solution would be to import events separately, the obvious downside is that none of the faces info will transfer over. Hopefully there is a real solution out there.

Modify the from header depending of destination domain in Exchange 2007

I have an Exchange 2007 organization. One edge and 2 mailbox-cas-hub servers. I want to modify the "From" header depending of destination domain.
For example, if the destination domain is @example.com and the sender is
[email protected], the new sender must be changed to
[email protected] . The user1 has both email address added as smtp address and @newdomain.com was set as primary address to respond and receive emails.
I have tried with transport rule but I cannot create it, because I received an error when I want to modify the "From" value. The command and error message are:

I would like to resolve this issue with Exchange 2007 tools or commands, but I guess this requirement can be done with a third-party tool, anyone knows any?

I think what you're trying to do is pretty unusual, at least for Exchange. :-)
I don't know of anything that would run on Exchange that would be able to do that, but I think you can do it with something like Postfix.

Image in header disappears when document is opened with iPad Pages

I'm trying to create company templates for standard files that can be both accessed from my Mac and iPad via iCloud. Howerver, I can't get the iPad version to include the image that was added within the Mac version and saved to iCloud.
Here is what's happening:
1. Make new document with Mac version of Pages
2. Insert an image in the headder (company logo in PDF format but I've also tried EPS & PNG as well)
3. Save documnet to iCloud
4. Open document from iCloud with iPad version of Pages
5. Image disappears (to clarify, the image is shown in the thumbnail view on the iPad but disappears once opened)
If I don't make any changes to the document on the iPad and reoppen it on the Mac the image is still there. However, if I make any changes to the document with the iPad and then open the modified file on the Mac the image remains missing.

I have never heard that inserting an image into a header is a bad thing; can you please explain why you say it's never a good thing to do?
As far as I know, this is a very common method and is the only way that I'm aware of to create a header with a company logo that will repeat on subsequent pages within the document. By making the image a background image, you lose this ability and the image will only show on the first page of the document.
To answer your suggestion, yes, making the image a background image will make it visible on the iPad however this is not the issue, as images within the body of the document do not have the disappearing issue that I'm experiencing with images in the header.
If inserting images in the header is bad thing, do you have another method that you could share that would achieve the same result; that is an image (logo) that will automatically repeat on every subsequent page that is added to a document?

InDesign CS4 no longer shows triangle icon for modified images in Links

My InDesign crashed the other day, and now it no longer gives me the yellow triangular icon in the Links panel to indicate that and image has been modified and needs to be updated. I typically do not connect the image to the original via Indesign, but work in Photoshop independently. This has never been a problem. After I update the image in PS, the triangle instantly appears in ID so I can click on it and update the image.
I can still click on the refresh button to update the image, but I would like those indicators back since it helps me with older documents - so I can know which images actually need the update and which do not.
I have restarted the panel and launched and closed bridge as suggested in other older discussions, and it didn't make a difference. I also noticed that the if I do try to open the original image via ID with Open With, the icon for PS, for example, does not take me to PS (it opens the image in Windowd Paint). This makes me wonder is the whole connection between ID and PS is messed up. How do I fix that connection?

I will also add that the Edit With paths are completely messed up, but only within ID. If I choose to open in PS, it may open it in Firefox, IE, Paint or Windows preview. And then next time, choose a different app. Eventually Photoshop won't even be an option anymore. If I choose Other and choose PS, then it works. If I go in bridge or anywhere else in Windows and choose PS from Open With, then it works fine. This is just an ID problem.
