Module Pool ip Usr Name
I have to develop a pgm using module pool
INput:User name And Password..
if any one type it has to update in a table... if any one modify the password that also have to be updated
i want to use two buttons one for update and other for modify in appln tool bar.. can any one give me the coding and step by step procedure...
Hi Hema,
Well, there's no need to use two buttons. MODIFY will help you achieve your goal. But still you can design whichever way it's comfortable for you. Use the approach given below:
1. Create Screen '9000' and design screen according to your requirements. If you want to add, two buttons, you can do that in your GUI status. Assign a function code to the buttons. Set the OK_CODE for ypur screen elements
2. in PAI, write two modules. First to handle the function code for MODIFY and UPDATe and other for at Exit Command.
3. In Module for MODIFY and UPDATE, define two variables which will have exactly same name as the input fields for ID and password. Set these values to your table fields. Use MODIFY to update your table.
(The point to note is, the variable names you have given to fields in your screen, and if you define them in your program, these program variables will contain the exact value what you have entered in the screen).
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

How to call a "Z"module pool program in a "z"report
Hi Guys,

".TXT1" : File contains 4 fields
2. Module pool. :Uploads a a tab delimited " .Txt2" file and update another "z2" table
".TXT2" file contains the 4 fileds of ".TXT1" and also 2 extra fields.
I want to merge (call) the module pool program in the Report and perform the upload function using only one ".TXT" file.Please do guide me precisely .

To give colours for a certain row in table control in module pool
Hi,
In module pool,,,,,When I am displaying the Table Control......Suppose in some rows personnel no. is there and for the person who has exited from the company should be highlighted with red colour.
Please some code..
thanks..Hi Jayasree,
I think I had a similar requirement to have a one column on a particular row
available for input where all other rows for that column were not. It took
me a while to figure this out but it was quite simple. I expect it will
work for colour changes too.
In Process Before Output
LOOP AT INTERNAL TABLE INTO WA WITH CONTROL TC
Call Module
END LOOP
In the module program the condition on which the colour change / input
status etc has to be changed using
IF condition = true
LOOP AT SCREEN
IF SCREEN-NAME = column name
Make your colour / input status change
MODIFY SCREEN
ENDIF
ENDLOOP
ENDIF
I hope this helps you.

How to create Long Text in Module Pool Program
Hi all,
I want to develop a new module pool program and I want to use Long text screen in this program and also want this text will store in table.I never develop such type of module pool before.This long text will like sales order long text.Please let me know the steps how I can develop such type of program and how I save long text huge data in table.
Thanks & Regards
NirmalHai ,
here you have to use custom control, for this
DATA: line(256) TYPE c,
text_tab LIKE STANDARD TABLE OF line,
field LIKE line.
1) Create custom control in your screen
2) CREATE OBJECT: container EXPORTING container_name = 'TEXTEDIT', "--> (this is custom control name in screen)
editor EXPORTING parent = container.
3) CALL METHOD editor->get_text_as_stream "This method reads data from custom control , inserts into itab 'text_tab'
IMPORTING
text = text_tab. "
READ TABLE text_tab INTO line INDEX 1. read the text into wa 'line'
if you want more clarity , see 'ABAPDOCU' >ABAP USER DIALOGS> COMPLEXSCREEN ELEMENTS--> DEMO CUSTOM_CONTROL -

Module pool transfer of data from one table control to another
Hi all,
I have been assigned to module pool object wherein i have to display table control on screen and that table control contains only 10 rows on screen for display. Now my internal table it_out has 15 rows
Describe table it_out

There is a pushbutton below table control and when i select multiple rows and click on that pushbutton it will navigate me to the next screen containing another table control on which i need to display those selected records.
Now the problem is that when i select first record and move cursor down to select last record then i am seeing only last record on next screen table control. why is it happening? please provide me with solution. For rest of cases it is working fine for example if i select first record and second record then i am seeing both these selected records on next screen table control . Only the problem arises when i tried to select first and lets say last record when scrolling down on table control.
I think the problem is with scrolling but when i loop on next screen with moved records i am seeing that 2 records are their but it is transferring only one record to next screen not the last one.
Your response is highly appreciated.
Thanks
ParagHi Parag,
Screen 8002 (with table control) --> select records --> press a button --> move to screen 8003 --> display selected records in screen 8002.
First problem that if you select first record in table control and scroll to end to select the last record, the first record in deselected.
Next problem, that if you select say 3 records in table control you want the to be displayed in another table control, the use this code.
Also take another internal table and work area same as the initial internal table and work area used in screen 8002.
On screen 8002, take a button with function code 'PROCESS', on which user clicks the screen 8003 should display selected records.
Now, use this code, its working:-
Take the names of the input/output fields as work_area-field_name and select column in table control as work_area-flag.
Also take a flag field of size 1 datatype character as the last field in the internal table and work area while declaration.
You must have passed a code in PBO of the screen for reading internal table into the table control.
So it reads the internal table into the table control whenever you perform any action on use command.
All you need to do is to write a code to modify the internal table form the table control while performing any user action.
Remember to change the LINE SEL option in attributes of table control as MULTIPLE.
At Screen Logic:-
PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
MODULE status_8002. "for pf-status
LOOP WITH CONTROL po_tab. "po_tab is name of table control
MODULE pass_data. "to pass data into table control from internal table
ENDLOOP.
PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
MODULE user_command_8002. "to handle other user commands (back and exit)
LOOP WITH CONTROL po_tab. "po_tab is name of table control
MODULE modify_data. "to modify data from table control into internal table
MODULE process_data. "to display selected records on another screen
ENDLOOP.
In PBO,
*& Module STATUS_8002 OUTPUT
MODULE status_8002 OUTPUT.
SET pf-status 'ZAB_PFSTA'. " pf-status
DATA : line_count TYPE i.
DESCIRBE TABLE it_ekpo
LINES line_count.
po_tab-lines = line_count + 10.
" to make table control scrollable
ENDMODULE. " STATUS_8002 OUTPUT
*& Module PASS_DATA OUTPUT
MODULE pass_data OUTPUT.
READ TABLE it_ekpo into wa_ekpo INDEX po_tab-current_line.
ENDMODULE. " PASS_DATA OUTPUT
"it_ekpo is internal table and wa_ekpo is the work area
In PAI,
*& Module MODIFY_DATA INPUT
MODULE MODIFY_DATA INPUT.
MODIFY IT_EKPO INDEX PO_TAB-CURRENT_LINE FROM WA_EKPO.
"modify records from table control into the internal table
ENDMODULE. " MODIFY_DATA INPUT
*& Module PROCESS_DATA INPUT
MODULE PROCESS_DATA INPUT.
CASE sy-ucomm.
WHEN 'PROCESS'.
IF wa_ekpo-flag = 'X'.
wa_ekpo1 = wa_ekpo.
APPEND wa_ekpo1 TO it_ekpo1. "if record selected move to another internal table
ENDIF.
ENDCASE.
"modify records from table control into the internal table
ENDMODULE. " PROCESS_DATA INPUT
Now if you select some records in this table control the values will retain in internal table.
Screen 8003 with selected records to be displayed in another table control.
At Screen Logic:-
PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
MODULE status_8003. "for pf-status
LOOP WITH CONTROL po_tb. "po_tb is name of table control
MODULE pass_data1. "to pass data into table control from internal table
ENDLOOP.
PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
MODULE user_command_8003. "to handle other user commands (back and exit)
LOOP WITH CONTROL po_tb. "po_tb is name of table control
MODULE modify_data1. "to modify data from table control into internal table
ENDLOOP.
In PBO,
*& Module STATUS_8003 OUTPUT
MODULE status_8003 OUTPUT.
SET pf-status 'ZAB_PFSTA'. " pf-status
DATA : line_count1 TYPE i.
DESCIRBE TABLE it_ekpo1
LINES line_count1.
po_tb-lines = line_count1 + 10.
" to make table control scrollable
ENDMODULE. " STATUS_8003 OUTPUT
*& Module PASS_DATA1 OUTPUT
MODULE pass_data1 OUTPUT.
READ TABLE it_ekpo1 into wa_ekpo1 INDEX po_tb-current_line.
ENDMODULE. " PASS_DATA1 OUTPUT
"it_ekpo is internal table and wa_ekpo is the work area
In PAI,
*& Module MODIFY_DATA1 INPUT
MODULE MODIFY_DATA1 INPUT.
MODIFY IT_EKPO1 INDEX PO_TB-CURRENT_LINE FROM WA_EKPO1.
"modify records from table control into the internal table
ENDMODULE. " MODIFY_DATA1 INPUT
Hope this solves your problem.

Hi All,
I have created 1 module pool program with screen no. 0100. But the statement CALL SCREEN 0100 is not getting executing its showing error i.e ' statement cannot be accessable' even i have created and activated the sceen 0100.
Thanks...
kiranHi kiran,
Open you program in se38 menu bar -> GOTO -> ATTRIBUTES and check wheather it is executable program or module pool program.
if it is exeutable program then u can call the screen 0100 as ur intial screen. if not ur given type as module pool then u have to create a transaction in SE93 and give the screen name in that and prgoram name then it will display the screen which u hv created .
if you want to show the screen 0100 as ur initial sceen in module pool program without using transaction it is not possible so use either executable program and use the stament call screen 0100.

Calling subscreen in module pool
Hi friends,
I am trying to call sub-screen in module pool.
but it is giving me an error as "." or "ID ... FIELD ..." expected after "SUBSCREEN".
i am using followning statement
CALL SUBSCREEN SUB INCLUDING SY-REPID '0101'.
OR
CALL SUBSCREEN SUB. (SUB is screen i have created in layout).
I tried it a lot, but not able to solve it.
Kindly help me.Hi Kiran,
<li>Subscreen concept is like this. You have one main screen. You want another screen which has to be displayed on main screen when you run main screen.
<li>First we need to create subscreen area on main screen. Goto layout and click subscreen element and place on main screen and name to that subscreen area as SUB.
<li>Now create another screen type subscreen. place fields on that and write logic.
<li> Check REPORT demo_dynpro_subscreens.
Thanks

Search Help For a Field in Module Pool Programming
Hi,
I have a field called status in Module Pool for which i need to write a search help.
This is the piece of code i have written.
TYPES: BEGIN OF ty_status,
stat type i,
status type string,
END OF ty_status.
DATA: lt_emp_status TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF ty_status,
lw_emp_status TYPE ty_status.

lw_emp_status-status = 'Employee Review'.
APPEND lw_emp_status TO lt_emp_status.
CLEAR lw_emp_status.
REFRESH lt_emp_status.

no_values_found = 2
OTHERS = 3.
IF sy-subrc = 0.
READ TABLE t_return INDEX 1.
MOVE t_return-fieldval TO LV_EMP_status.
ENDIF.
But i am getting the following error.
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_ASSIGN_CAST_ILLEGAL_CAST', was
not caught in
procedure "F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated by
a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
The error occurred at a statement of the form
ASSIGN f TO <fs> CASTING.
ASSIGN f TO <fs> CASTING TYPE t.
or
ASSIGN f TO <fs> CASTING LIKE f1.
or
at table statements with the addition
ASSIGNING <fs> CASTING.
The following error causes are possible:
1. The type of field f or the target type determined by <fs>, t or f1
contains data references, object references, strings or internal tables
as components.
Could some one help me how to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance.Hi,
Please see this sample code below:

How to Use F4 help in Module Pool Programming??????
Hi Friends,
This is Jagadeesh, I have an issue Module Pool Programming. Any of you can go through on this and can give an required answer.
Issue is as follows,
I have an Input/Output field for that i need to give f4 help, based on that field the related data should sit in to my table control. The thing is there is no relation between the input/output field and the table control fields.
Is this possible? If so how can i do this.Hi Jagadeesh,
For F4 Values on Screen:
PROCESS ON VALUE_REQUEST
using module call starting with FIELD i.e FIELD field MODULE module
There are number of function modules that can be used for the purpose, but these
can fullfill the task easily or combination of them.
DYNP_VALUE_READ
F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST
F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST
POPUP_WITH_TABLE_DISPLAY
DYNP_VALUE_READ
This function module is used to read values in the screen fields. Use of this
FM causes forced transfer of data from screen fields to ABAP fields.
There are 3 exporting parameters
DYNAME = program name = SY-CPROG
DYNUMB = Screen number = SY-DYNNR
TRANSLATE_TO_UPPER = 'X'
and one importing TABLE parameter
DYNPFIELDS = Table of TYPE DYNPREAD
The DYNPFIELDS parameter is used to pass internal table of type DYNPREAD
to this FM and the values read from the screen will be stored in this table.This
table consists of two fields:
FIELDNAME : Used to pass the name of screen field for which the value is to
be read.
FIELDVALUE : Used to read the value of the field in the screen.
e.g.
DATA: SCREEN_VALUES TYPE TABLE OF DYNPREAD ,
SCREEN_VALUE LIKE LINE OF SCREEN_VALUES.
SCREEN_VALUE-FIELDNAME = 'KUNNR' . * Field to be read
APPEND SCREEN_VALUE TO SCREEN_VALUES. * Fill the table
CALL FUNCTION 'DYNP_VALUES_READ'
EXPORTING
DYNAME = SY-CPROG
DYNUMB = SY-DYNNR
TRANSLATE_TO_UPPER = 'X'
TABLES
DYNPFIELDS = SCREEN_VALUES.
READ TABLE SCREEN_VALUES INDEX 1 INTO SCREEN_VALUE.Now the screen value for field KUNNR is in the SCREEN_VALUE-FIELDVALUE and can be used for further processing like using it to fill the internal table to be used as parameter in F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST ETC.
F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST
This FM is used to display value help or input from ABAP dictionary.We have to pass the name of the structure or table(TABNAME) along with the field name(FIELDNAME) . The selection can be returned to the specified screen field if three
parameters DYNPNR,DYNPPROG,DYNPROFIELD are also specified or to a table if RETRN_TAB is specified.
CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST'
EXPORTING
TABNAME = table/structure
FIELDNAME = 'field name'
DYNPPROG = SY-CPROG
DYNPNR = SY-DYNR
DYNPROFIELD = 'screen field'
IMPORTING
RETURN_TAB = table of type DYNPREAD
F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST
This FM is used to dsiplay values stored in an internal table as input
help.This FM is used to program our own custom help if no such input help
exists in ABAP dictionary for a particular field. The parameter VALUE_TAB is used to pass the internal table containing input values.The parameter RETFIELD
is used to specify the internal table field whose value will be returned to the screen field or RETURN_TAB.
If DYNPNR,DYNPPROG and DYNPROFIELD are specified than the user selection is passed to the screen field specified in the DYNPROFIELD. If RETURN_TAB is specified the selectionis returned in a table.
CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
EXPORTING
RETFIELD = field from int table whose value will be returned
DYNPPROG = SY-CPROG
DYNPNR = SY-DYNNR
DYNPROFIELD = 'screen field'
VALUE_ORG = 'S'
TABLES
VALUE_TAB = internal table whose values will be shown.
RETURN_TAB = internal table of type DDSHRETVAL
EXCEPTIONS
parameter_error = 1
no_values_found = 2
others = 3.
POPUP_WITH_TABLE_DISPLAY
This FM is used to display the contents of an internal table in a popup window.The user can select a row and the index of that is returned in the CHOISE
parameter.The VALUETAB is used to pass the internal table.
A suitable title can be set using TITLETEXT parameter. The starting and end position of the popup can be specified by the parameters STARTPOS_COL / ROW and ENDPOS_ROW / COL .
CALL FUNCTION 'POPUP_WITH_TABLE_DISPLAY'
EXPORTING
ENDPOS_COL =
ENDPOS_ROW =
STARTPOS_COL =
STARTPOS_ROW =
TITLETEXT = 'title text'
IMPORTING
CHOISE =
TABLES
VALUETAB =
EXCEPTIONS
BREAK_OFF = 1
OTHERS = 2.
e.g.
DATA: w_choice TYPE SY-TABIX.
DATA: BEGIN OF i_values OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE,
values TYPE I,
END OF i_values.
PARAMETRS : id TYPE I.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR id
i_values-values = '0001'.
APPEND i_values.
i_values-values = '0002'.
APPEND i_values.
i_values-values = '0003'.
APPEND i_values.
i_values-values = '0004'.
APPEND i_values.
CALL FUNCTION 'POPUP_WITH_TABLE_DISPLAY'
EXPORTING
ENDPOS_COL = 40
ENDPOS_ROW = 12
STARTPOS_COL = 20
STARTPOS_ROW = 5
TITLETEXT = 'Select an ID'
IMPORTING
CHOISE = w_choice
TABLES
VALUETAB = i_values
EXCEPTIONS
BREAK_OFF = 1
OTHERS = 2.
CHECK w_choice > 0.
READ TABLE i_values INDEX w_choice....now we can process the selection as it is contained
...in the structure i_values.
Other FM that may be used to provide input help is HELP_START .

Dj
