Monitor the # of registered AP's on a 2504 via SNMP?

Does anyone know the OID to determine the number of registered AP's on a WLC (specifically the AIR-CT2504).
I've got both of the Airespace MIBs and have browsed through them but I can't seem to find the correct location.  I can find a list of all of the AP's registered but our monitoring software doesn't have the ability to 'count' that index.  As such, I'm looking for a count/summation of the total number of registered AP's via SNMP.
Thanks!
Brian

It's an old post, but I had the same question. After some research I found a simple answer...
Use this OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.618.1.8.4.0
If you want to also get the total number of Clients, use: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.618.1.8.12.0
It does not work on 7.0 - it does on 7.6 and 8.0.
Best regards
Christoph

  • Monitor the end of a deployment of a bundle via NalWin

    Hi,
    For automation purposes, I need to know when the deployment of a package is finished.
    This is the command I use in a batch script/cmd :
    Code:
    start "Nalwin" "C:\Program files\novell\zenworks\nalwin.exe" : /A=MyApplicationJob.App.XP.Install.Nal.Zen.COMP
    I just need a way to know when the package is finished to deploy. Monitoring the process "nalwin.exe" is not really an option because there can be other nalwin processes in the background.
    Another way would be to make nalwin run in foreground in the cmd, but I did not found any option for that.
    I tried do monitor the RegSet* operations but no luck, the last RegSet is on "HKCU\Software\Novell\ZENworks\NALExplorer\ViewsSh owing" set to "0", just before the launch of the MSI package.
    I tried to enable debug mode :
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NetWare\NAL\1.0\Debug]
    "Level"=dword:0000000f
    "LogFileLocation"="C:\\ZFDNAL.CSV"
    "Browser"=dword:00000001
    "Explorer"=dword:00000001
    "Reporting"=dword:00000001
    But I don't see anything useful for what I need in the log (a line that indicates the successful end of the job) :
    Code:

    Thks.

    I would create a "Post Distribution Script" or "Post Launch Script" that
    did something that could be monitored.

  • Monitoring the Cisco ACE module with SNMP

    We use 2 redundant Cisco ACE loadbalancer in our datacenter
    The models are ACE20-MOD-K9 with software A2(2.0)
    Does anybod know how to monitor the environment (cpu, memory) of such a module with snmp?
    We were not able to find an applicable MIB for that module.
    The CISCO-PROCESS-MIB.oid (ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/oid/CISCO-PROCESS-MIB.oid) seems not to reflect the correct oid's.
    What are the correct oid's for cpu and memory?
    Where can I find a detailed documentation for snmp-monitoring the cisco ace module?

  • Issues monitoring the 2602i Cisco AP with Zabbix.

    Hi!
    My workplace just bought a lot of Cisco AP (2602i) and a WLC 2500 and I'm in deep trouble trying to monitor them with Zabbix, wich is the SW we use for our whole Network.
    After a lot of time I got to monitor the CPU use (in %), traffic of each interface, the AP serial number and the AP software version.
    I really need to monitor how many clients are connected (associated) to each radio and if the AP mode Flex Connect it is activated or not.
    I would really appreciate some help with this, I'm out of ideas!
    Thanks you soooo very much!

    Connection to 172.19.0.110 closed.

    Hey Saul,
    I didn't really solve my problem.
    I managed to monitor some items (connected clients, rogue aps, eth rx total, eth tx total, last reboot reason, lwapp image version, lwapp os version, mac address eth, ap name, power status, ssh enable, shown in the attachment) but those are just regular items and, to be able to monitor them, after each OID I had to write the AP's mac address in decimal format  (which I did using Macro's to make it automatic, taking it from another OID).
    Now at this point I have two issues:
    First - using this template, which I applied one per AP host referring to the WLC IP address, makes my Zabbix Queue and Zabbix busy unreachable poller processes go up to the sky, which is no good at all and that's why I'm still working on how to fix this (maybe changing the way I monitor de APs at all).
    Second - I still couldn't monitor important stuff regarding reach radio (for example), since all my APs have two radios and I find it interesting to monitor which channel are they at. The issue with this is (after a little internet research) that Zabbix allows me to use a Discovery Rule with only one variable field, in this case, the AP's mac address. It wouldn't allow me to double the Discovery Rule.
    Let me be more explicit regarding this second issue with an example.
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.2.1.1.21 is the OID where I can find info regarding the radio channel.
    208.199.137.14.211.112 is my AP's mac
    0 or 1 indicates which radio I'm talking about (also dynamic as you see).
    So to get that info it would be something like (and its response):
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.2.1.1.21.208.199.137.14.211.112.0 =  STRING: "This is a 802.11b/g interface, slot ID is 0"
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.513.1.2.1.1.21.208.199.137.14.211.112.1 =  STRING: "This is a 802.11a interface, slot ID is 1"
    So as you see, I have to variable fields, the AP's mac and the radio index (0 or 1).
    I would really love to monitor it with the help of a discovery rule, a double one which doesn't exist.
    Of course you can do it manually, for each of your AP's radios and for each of your APs but, in my network scenario, we have more than two or three APs so it makes this impossible and poorly efficient.
    I'm sorry for not having the answers and I really hope this helps you.
    Cheers!

  • How do I monitor the listener process

    Otherwise I get the following error.
    How do I monitor the listener process and make sure, still it is trying to
    establishing connection with oracle instance ?
    thanks

    After starting the listener, I have to wait for few
    min. before I connect to the database.That's normal when the registration is dynamic (no SID_LIST in listener.ora). This does not happen if the listener is started before the DB. See http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/network.102/b14212/architecture.htm#sthref429
    But you can force the registration. As sysdba do
    SQL> alter system register;
    or you can statically configure your DB within listener.ora, SID_LIST section.

  • Does jconsole support monitoring of MBeans registered to New MBean Server?

    I see that jconsole is displaying the MBeans registered to Platform MBean Server (obtained through java.lang.ManagementFactory.getPlatformMBeanServer()) but not the MBeans that are registered to a newly created MBean Server (created using javax.management.MBeanServerFactory.createMBeanServer()).
    Is there a way through which I can view the MBeans registered to newly created MBean Server in the jconsole?

    Thank you for the information emcmanus.
    So what I understand is that the jconsole if opened in a normal way (i.e. Local), it loads MBeans by looking up the Platform MBean Server.
    All the MBeans belonging to other MBean Servers or custom created MBean Servers can be managed & monitored if jconsole is loaded using Advanced option (i.e. providing JMX URL) and with the help of remote connectors.
    When I open Platform MBean Server, I dont see MBeans of other MBean Server and vice versa. (I think they are mutually exclusive).
    Please correct me if what I have mentioned above is incorrect.
    One confusing thing is that I see "JVImplementation" MBean is available when I open jconsole with either of the two option mentioned above.
    Is there any specific reason for that?
    Is that MBean part of Platform MBean Server or some other MBean Server?

    Not going to happen the way you want it to.
    When you add a gift card balance to the Apple ID, it's available for the Apple ID.
    Probably best to create unique Apple ID's for each... this will also make things easier in the future as purchases are eternally tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with.

  • Why is it that when I plug my Macbook Pro to an external monitor, the external monitor turns black and shows the mouse only

    Why is it that when I plug my Macbook Pro to an external monitor, the external monitor turns black and shows the mouse only

    Hi, yes preferences sees there is a second display it recognises what make of monitor it is etc but I just get a blank blue screen on the monitor when I change it to the hdmi setting! I have tried with mirroring on and off, rearranging the displays in the preference window and lots of different resolution settings but with no difference.
    An old MacBook connects fine so the monitor and hdmi port must be okay. I'm sure we have used the cable before but it could have been with the previous MacBook Air. The current one I'm using is a mid 2011 version running lion and is (according to software update) all up to date.
    Any thoughts or help would be appreciated!

  • Is there a way to print the check register with the Text field

    Hi,
    Is there a way to print the check register with the Text field and also each item's Text field?"
    When we enter a invoice we enter a generic text on the Basic Data tab then enter a "+" on each individual line item which in turns defaults to the generic text. Just wanted to know if the check register could draw in the individual line item detail where we can enter text that relates to just that line item. Sort of like the MIR7 draws in the detail for each item.
    Kindly help me in full fill the above requirement.
    Thanks

    you should deactivate (help>deactivate) that installation on the old workstation.  then download and install on your new work station using your serial number.  (ie, make sure you can find your serial number - if you need help with this, let us know.)

  • How to install the windows7 agent and monitor the same machine

    Hi ,
    I have installed OMS on Oracle Linux 5.7-64 bit machine. Now I am able monitor the OIM which is installed on Linux. I have some of oracle applications (domains) on windows7 machine. I want monitor the same. On em, agent deployment page I am not able to see the windows agents.
    Can you please guide me how to install the agent on windows and monitor the same?
    OEM version: 11.1.0.1
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Kishore Tummeti

    If you just need to install some agents on Windows the best (imho) option is not to use the push option because getting Cygwin to run can take hours (if at all).
    Here you find a good instruction how to install the agent by hand: http://www.peasland.net/?p=122
    Sometimes the –silent mentioned in step 4b needs not to be put as second argument but as last argument.

  • Monitor the end of a deployment via NalWin.exe

    Hi,
    For automation purposes, I need to know when the deployment of a package is finished.
    Thks.

    This should be asked in a ZDM7 forums such as:
    novell.support.zenworks.desktop-management.7x.applications
    This forum is for the ZCM version of AdminStudio, though admittedly the
    title makes that less than clear.
