Monster FM transmitter

Last month i purchased an ipod 30gb along with a Monster FM transmitter for use in my car. everything has worked great until this past weekend. now the sound in my car sounds like i'm in a tunnel and on some songs the vocals are hardly even able to be heard. anyone have any idea what could be the issue, the ipod works fine with headphones.

There's no need to start multiple topics with the same questions.

  • Monster FM Transmitter not working OS3.0

Last week I bought the Monster iCarPlay Wireless Plus. It was working perfectly fine when I was 2.2.1 but since I upgraded to 3.0 It stopped working. When I connect it the transmitter the charge screen flashes on and off, almost as if I'm unplugging/plugging the power cord rapidly. Is it possible that it's broken or did the new update just rendered it useless?

Mine connects to the radio with out any problems on my iphone 3gs. However, it no longer allows me to charge the phone.

  • New ipod 60gb video and monster icar transmitter?

In short.. you can't use those accessories with the 5th Gen iPod.

  • Charging with Monster Icar FM Transmitter

I am using a Monster iCar FM Transmitter. Even though I have read a few negative reports on the Monster FM transmitter/charger, it is working very well for me. Here's my question. Will the constant charging (1 to 2 hours a day while commuting) cause problems with the battery life. I recognize there is a finite life to re-chargeable batteries but I haven't read anything that suggests you should limit the use of in-car chargers.

As the iPod uses lithium-ion batteries, it is better to charge them frequently, rather than discharge them completely (unless you are conditioning the battery/meter). The car charger will be fine, but don't let the iPod get too hot in the car, or you will exceed its operational limits.

  • Ipod Nano FM Transmitter adaptor - which one?

I recently bought an Ipod nano for my girlfriend and would like to by an FM transmitter to operate it through my car stereo. My question is, which type of transmitter is compatible with a Nano? I know Griffin technologies makes a couple of different types of transmitters for Ipods but I don't know if they fit a Nano or not. Can anyone help?

I can second the Monster CarFM transmitter. We have one for each car. We got the version that lets you program in any frequency because we live in a radio-dirty area.
While Griffin has many nifty version of the iTrip, I would recommend using a transmitter with a dock connector that also charges the iPod at the same time. I had an iTrip for my 40 GB iPod, but it had a couple of issues: 1) changing frequency was a pain, 2) signal strength would fade over time unless the iPod was also connected to a charger.
Another issue is that when I switched from using my 40 GB iPod to using the nano in the car, the iTrip wouldn't work for me. That's why I recommend using a transmitter with a dock connector. It is more likely to be compatible with any future iPod you may get.

  • IPod Shorting Out FM Transmitter(s)??

Hello. I originally posted this on another iPod-oriented forum, and I have to assume that no one has an answer, as it hasn't gotten a single reply yet. Either that, or I don't have enough 'cred' there yet. Nevermind my insecurities, here's the deal:
    IPod Vs. FM Transmitter Problem
Hello. My 5th-generation 30GB Video iPod has had some problems in recent months, but none too devastating. It used to require me to 'reset' it everytime I wanted to use it after a prolonged 'power down' period. Recently, however, it seems like it's destroying FM transmitters...or at least not being willing to play nicely with them.
I first had a Monster FM transmitter that worked great for the longest time, then I believe a short occurred in it that would cause the iPod to automatically 'pause' when it would get jarred a little. I gave up on that cord a little over a month ago and got a Kensington transmitter from Amazon. That worked perfectly for about three days and then just abruptly shorted out and completely died.
But it gets better, and by that, I mean worse. I receive the 'exchange' Kensington transmitter yesterday and that shorts out INSTANTLY. I realize that it's entirely possible that I got two defective items from Amazon consecutively, but I have to believe the problem is on the iPod's end. You see, I went out and picked up an iTrip one at Best Buy today, and that seems to cause the iPod to 'freeze' up, the touch wheel barely functioning when it's attached. The iTrip appears to sustain power, though. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to test someone else's iPod with it yet.
My iPod, while connected to my PC, seems to work fine, except that some unknown application is preventing me from ejecting it through iTunes, but whatever. As a standalone device, it also works, and the touch wheel is appropriately responsive. I could be wrong, but I think something happened to it after that Monster cable went on the fritz (even though the resetting nonsense started well before that point). I looked at the USB/power input area, and the 'male' part on the inside almost looks like it's got a tiny char mark on it.
I have the AppleCare Protection Plan, and I'm wondering if the likely scenario is something they'll even assume responsibility for....I've restored the thing twice now since purchase in October '05, having to re-import roughly 5,000 songs after the first time. I don't want to even bother starting that arduous process if this thing is a lemon, if it's going to continue to 'blow up' FM transmitters because of some sort of power surge.
Any concrete information on what's causing this or educated guesses would be greatly appreciated.
I'm about at wit's end with the whole thing, and I'm really concerned that Apple will wash their hands of responsibility. Ever since the 7.0 iTunes update, I've had minor, nagging problems with it, but nothing like the thing potentially being a transmitter mass-murderer.

Have you reset your ipod? That usually helps with any external devices attaching to it.
I'm also wondering (based upon the transmitters you've used so far) if it's not your car lighter that's causing the short? The itrip doesn't use the charger but the others do and since the itrip is working (albeit slowly) the car lighter might be the source.

  • IPod Touch & FM Transmitter Problems

    Hi -
I recently bought a Griffin iTrip Auto FM Radio Smartscan Transmitter. I have an iPod touch 2nd Gen. I plugged the transmitter in and set the radio station to a blank one, but no audio plays out of my car speakers. On my iPod it shows that audio is playing, but nothing can be heard. I have tried messing w/ volumes, but nothing works. I know it isn't the transmitter because I tried a Monster FM Transmitter as well with the same problem. I know that my iPod is compatible with both because it said so on the box. I tried to update iTunes to see if maybe I could update my iPod, but now my iTunes won't even update! Any ideas of how to solve the problem, whatever it may be?

Hmmm - I'm not sure. It's a plastic hard cover case. So it'll be difficult to cut. Below is a picture of the case:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tripe-Layer-Deluxe-Hybrid-Hard-Gel-Case-Cover-for-iPod-T ouch-5th-Generation-5G-5-/140904809291?pt=Other_MP3_Player_Accessories&hash=item 20ce94c34b
I'm worried that even after I cut that part out, the headphone jack might not be close enough to the exterior of the case to allow me to insert my FM Transmitter. This is because the FM Transmitter lies flat on the bottom side of the case and I'm not sure how much separation is allowed between it and the Ipod to still work (That little space difference might prevent it from working). But you're right - it's worth a shot. I'll give it a shot if I can't return/exchange the case. Thanks.

  • IPod "freezes" while uploading music

Recently I accidentally pulled out my iPod without ejecting it and all of the files were corrupted. I tried resetting it to factory settings, and after about twelve tries it finally worked. (Every time I tried it would freeze iTunes). But then even after I restored it my iPod wouldn't be recognized by iTunes. So I went into Disk Utility and tried to restore it through that, but every time I tried it would say "Timed Out" or "Umounting Failed".
The next day (today) my iPod randomly showed up on iTunes. I restored it successfully and was able to put a couple of albums back on it. But sometimes the synchronizing just stalls, and stops...it says it's synchronizing but it just sits at the same song that it was trying to upload. I've restarted iTunes and my computer and the same thing still happens.
Any ideas what's going on or how to stop it?

I tried the update with no success. Here's another update after actually trying to use my iPod:
When I have it just plugged into headphones or speakers half of the songs cut off in the middle, just a little bit off near the end. Some don't work at all. Plus my iPod is very slow while moving through the menus.
When I have it plugged into the Monster FM transmitter, I really can't get anything to work. It freezes on almost every song. The most I can get a song to play is about 16 seconds before it skips over to the next.
This seems just seems really messed up but it seems to be a software problem. Any ideas?

  • Nano works with PC but not car adapter or isounds??

My nano (3rd gen) was working fine with PC, car adapter and isounds clock radio but now when I plug it in to the car lighter it stops responding. Also tried isounds clock radio which it's worked on before but now it stops responding to that also. It will charge and play when connected to my pc. Need help... Any thoughts??

I have the same problem. I have a Monster FM Transmitter that worked just fine until the latest version of the the Ipod firmware now when I plug it in the backlight won't come on and it is stuck in pause. I have had the Monster FM transmitter replaced by Futureshop plus they tested the first one and it works just fine. The Ipod they tested it with had not had the firmware updated.

  • IPOD VIDEO PROBLEMS

I have a 30gb ipod video. When I plug it in my computer it plays. When I use my earphones or my brand new monster fm transmitter it doesn't play at all. What can be the problem and how can I fix it?

Headphone jack is broken, volume is turned all the way down on the iPod, the Classic has a Mute feature maybe, ????

  • Can't Play Nano in Car - What can I do?

I have the Monster Cable Transmitter http://www.monstercable.com/computer/productPageComputer.asp?pin=2084&LastPage=A pple%20Products
I do everything the directions say to do, plug it into the cigarette lighter tune it to the station that is lit up on the transmitter, nothing happens, silence, try other stations, same thing

Same problem here. I found that you must unplug the earphones to hear the sound via the adaptor. Also, the Nano must notice that you've unplugged the earphones, i.e. not be asleep or on hold when they're unplugged. I've had to plug the earphones back in, then remove them -- then the sound starts playing through the adaptor.
Unfortunately, the sound quality for the Monster FM adaptor is really poor. The Apple Store even recommended this one, but sorry, it's a loser. However, your mileage may vary if you can find a really quiet FM frequency in your area.

  • Rendering has to be done each time I reopen a project.

I have set my project SCRATCH DISKS local to project.
Each time I open my project I have to RE-RENDER IT just to export my movie or to play it smoothly.
    Why Adobe?
Never did this before the 2014.2 update.
Same RED sections. Take eight minutes each time I reopen this project.

It turns out that I was using a Monster FM Transmitter / power that wasn't compatable with the itouch. I switched it out and the problem went away.

  • Half my accessories won't charge my 3rd Gen Touch?!

So I just received my new iPod Touch 3rd gen the other day, and half the accessories I used for the 1st gen won't charge it. I get the message that "this accessory won't support charging" or something to that effect. This includes an APPLE wall charger for iPod!
What gives here? So far my iHome alarm clock, and my Monster FM transmitter won't charge the Touch. They will play music, but no charge. Weirdly, the iHome iH27 portable model with the Apple dock does charge, and thankfully so does the Apple dock, which I use to play music and videos thru my home theatre setup.
Is there something I'm missing that I need? Or was this deliberate for some reason?
    Thank you.

I'm having the exact same problem and unfortunately did not know anything about it until this morning when I tried plugging my new iTouch 3G into my Bose SoundDock and my Monster iCarPlay auto charger and got the "Charging is not supported with this accessory" message. I googled it and found out that the problem started over a year ago when Apple came out with the iTouch 2nd gen. They changed the way it charges -- used to be compatible with firewire charging, but now is only compatible with USB charging. More info at: http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/apple-ipod-touch-second-generatio n-8gb-16gb-32gb/P5
I called Apple and spoke to a so-called "apple expert" who kept telling me my iTouch should work with the Bose system because that's what it says on the apple website: http://store.apple.com/us/product/TS836VC/A?fnode=MTY1NDA1NA&mco=MTA4NDM1NDY But as we all know, it doesn't work and Apple has obviously not bothered to update their website or train their "experts."
There's nothing we can do but buy new accessories or return the iTouch. Very disappointing. Here's a link to the same discussion forum for all the iTouch 2nd gen users with the same problem: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1707274&tstart=0
Wish I had some better news for you, but in my opinion, it's just another typical non-customer friendly move by Apple...

  • FireWire connections not supported - randomly pops up

Hey. This is my 3rd ipod and the first one to have this problem. I have the 80gig 5th gen bought a few months ago. The problem I keep getting is that the FireWire connections not supported. To transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided message keeps popping up. It does this randomly and sometimes takes several clicks. When I hook it up to my monster fm transmitter in my car the problem worsesns when sometimes no matter how many times I click it will not go away.
    Things I've tried
    Resetting it, many times
    Formating
basically those 5rs, I don't know wat else to try. I havent tried reinstalling itunes only because I seriously doubt this will fix the problem since it doesn't only happen when I connect it to my comp.
Can anyone help? I've seen this problem posted a few times with no response.
    Thanks

The answer is simple-your iPod will not work with Firewire. It requires USB. I had a Firewire iPod(miss it dearly) and it will charge from the firewire cable but it will not connect to the computer or the dock.
