Monthly charge increased with zero warning?

Hello,
I'm on the "High Speed Internet Enhanced" dry-loop plan, which was a consistent $44.99 a month. This month, I see I've been charged $49.99. I looked at my past four saved bills and there's zero mention of an upcoming rate increase.
 But beyond that, $49.99 a month for 7Mbps down is ridiculous. I understand Verizon corporate wants to kill all the copper lines and move to fiber, but my building doesn't have FiOS available yet and there seems to be no way to get Verizon to contact building management to help expedite this process.
At this point, I'm grandfathered into unlimited data on Verizon Wireless and I should probably just cancel my DSL line entirely and pay $24 a month after work discount to just tether and do a mobile hot-spot off my iPhone.
In summary:
1) When and where was this rate increase supposedly communicated to us?
2) Is there any kind of contact form on the Verizon website to get this company in touch with building management to expedite FiOS installs by granting building access?
3) Is there a direct number to any kind of retentions department?

I just read our reply to a verizon customer asking why their internet charges increased without any notice from verizon.  It is obvious that you are an active employee or retired when you advised this customer to go to customer spport at verizon and ask them why their rate was increased.  Actually I believe you stated, "our site".
I am a retired verizon employee with 37 years of service.  I actually am having the same problem and I did go to support on "our site".  I gave the rep the dates when the charged changed, advised them the billing statement read, high speed internet disconnect and the date, and high speed internet added and the date, which was the same date.  I advised the rep I did not change my internet service and asked for the order number that increased my charge but did not increase my speed. I was advised there was no order.  And here's the kicker, I was told by the rep, and I quote, "Verizon is a large company and can change their rates whenever they choose".
Unfortunately, Verizon has to file with the FCC in order for them to approve a rate change andevery customer should be informed.
I suggest, in the future , if I were you, not to suggest to anyone to go to the support site fo help.  I sincerely hope you never experience the problems that many of us are going through with billing discrepancies.  I was also advised 4 hours ago, that a supervisor would contact me within 30 minutes.
I'm still waiting!

    hi all looking for some advice We have an unlimited anytime calls and broadband package. The reason we took out this package is that we wanted to know that we would never have to ay anymore than the agreed amount unless we avail of additional services. (o help us stick to our monthly budget) In august we decided to upgrade our BT account by adding BT vision. After spending half an hour on the phone on 2 occasions dicussing the packge that we needed and an error being made in the letter sent to notify us of the charges we finally got the package we wanted and agreed a price, £49.25 per month a confirmed by letter from BT with an additional one off £60 charge for the vision box. However they took £73.00 from our account in September (which I thought was part payment for the box £60) £99.50 in October (Again I assumed this overpayment this was for the Vision Box) However when I noticed he £99.50 again this month I contacted BT immediately. The lady I spoke to did reduce my payments to £49.25 as pr the letter as it matched what she had on her screen for the payments. I called out all the various line rental and packages charges all matched so how could they possible assume that I should be paying £99.50 per month!!! I was told it was a computer assessment based on previous and future usage however on an unlimited package I just don't get it.. At the minute we feel that BT owe us £64.25 which I asked to be refunded and I was told that as the £99.50 payment that came out was on my account details online before the payment was taken then I can't get a refund even though they agree that the payment was too much!! So basically when they put the details on your ccount they can take whatever they want..... even i it is an overpayment. We've just had another baby and can't afford to pay any more than the £49 so if as per the other posts this monthly payment is going to increase as BT sees fit then we will have to cancel our package. Not sure what I should do next who is the best team to speak to as the lady I previously spoke to just kept saying the sme things over and over again which I assume is some sort of scripted response. Please help....

  • Confused over monthly charge & increases.

    So, what with the price increases i've decided to take a very close look at what i'm paying and what for and to be honest i seem to be paying around £10 more per month than what's quoted on BTs website which will rise another £3 after the upcoming price increase.
    When i renewed in March i was led to believe i was getting a special offer for the lifetime of my contract and to be honest i'm left feeling like i've been shafted now.
    So, what i want to do is compare what i'm paying to what others are paying, heres what i currently have:
    Line rental: £13.90
    Barring witheld calls: £4.10
    Broadband, TV & Calls: £49.00 (£40.00 after discount)
    Calling Plan: Unlimited Anytime Plan
    Broadband: BT Infinity Option 2
    TV: BT Vision Gold Pack
    Credit: Special Offer Discount: - £9.00
    Payment Processing Fee: £1.80
    Grand Total: £59.80 per month
    After the price increase this will rise to: £62.69
    Whereas according to BTs website i should only be paying £53.69 (including the £9.00 discount i was offered for renewing early)
    I am seriously thinking about seeking advice on this and possible early termination due to being mislead when renewing my contract early.
    But before i do this i would like to get some idea of what others are paying, less? the same? more? for the same (if possible) package.

    Thank you for your reply ttyrie but in fairness i think we are comparing different products.
    You say Broadband option 3 whereas im on BT Infinity, 40 Meg with unlimited usage.
    You also get weekend and evening calls whereas i get anytime calls.
    As for the the call features, i will definitely be keeping the barring witheld numbers as i was getting 10+ a day.
    As for the direct debit, i have a bad experience with BT billing so i'd rather pay the £2.00 extra to check my bill before paying it rather than risk my bank charging me £25 for BT taking payment before its due or taking it 3 times within 4 days as they did before. They also tried to setup a direct debit on my account 5 days after i cancelled the previous one WITHOUT my permission, so my banks been instructed not to make any payments to BT whatsoever.
    So i'm sure you can see why i'd prefer to pay the £2.00.

  • My one year warranty expired recently, a month ago my charger was replaced under warranty and it has only lasted a month and has broken again, does the replacement charger come with a new warranty or will i have to buy a new one?

    Bought the phone on contract last January (late in january), had my charger replaced just after christmas and now it has stopped working again, its been about a month and a half and the replacement charger is broken, does the replacement charger come with a new warranty or will I have to buy a new charger? And if so, is there a charger that doesn't break easily (my problem is the the wire at the phone end of the cable seems to bunch and twist etc.)

    If I understand you correctly, I have the same configuration.  My modem supports Internet and phone service and my television service bypasses the modem.  It does not do any routing.  It has a single Ethernet port and I plugged in an external router with a WiFi radio - Apple Airport Express.  Works like a champ.
    Configuration of the Express was difficult.  I had to plug it in to AC power and to the modem.  Then, I opened up Airport Utility and had to click "yes" for each recommendation.  Then I had to really think hard to come up with a WiFi password.  Took me a horrendous thirty seconds from start to finish!

    I am sorry to learn that your phone has some water damage smreyn! Liquid damage can cause many different issues, including inability to recognize chargers and accessories.   • Increase in monthly charge, without being notified!

    Hi. I have an academic individual CC subscription. It automatically renewed last October (2014), however the monthly rate increased from €19.99 p.m. to €30.74 p.m.
    I was not informed beforehand of this increase, as per my contract, which states that:
    "the price is valid for a full 12 months. After that, we'll renew your contract automatically unless you cancel. The price is subject to change, but we will always notify you beforehand."
    This is very dishonest of Adobe, and furthermore breaks the terms of my contract. Has anyone else had this problem?

    There's no dishonesty here but perhaps Adobe's admin could use some improvement e.g. email to notify you of what happens in month 13 when the auto-renew kicks in.
    When you signed up originally, it was for the promotional pricing for the first 12 months which auto-renews.

    The Terms of the offer say:
    "$19.99/month Creative Cloud Introductory Pricing – Save 60%
    Eligible  students 13 and older and teachers can purchase an annual membership to Adobe® Creative Cloud™ for a reduced price of $19.99/month for the first year. After the first year we will renew your contract automatically for another year at the then-current standard monthly price (currently at $29.99/month), unless you cancel."
    So, in short, you were notified 12 months ago but a reminder 12 months later would have alleviated this confusion for you.

    Ex 697, TU 680, Eq now 631 after the 6 pt drop, the other scores are post 25 pt increase.
    I also have SDFCU secored, 3 months old 500 limit, zero balance.
    Safe FCU one month old, 5000, $70 balance. When this card reported, I received a 25 pt boost from TU and EX, and a 6 pt drop with Eq.
    Mid Carolina FCU 2500, 300 balance, will have that under 10% by next billing.
    I have one 30 day late, over a year old.
    I also have 5 medical collections.
    I am working on a pfd for those. 2 are auto accident related, so the CA said they would delete when paid, and I am paying them off tomorrow.
    I paid one last week, and received an alert saying it was due to a collection being updated, showing paid.
    Only one collection is showing on TU and EX.
    Those are all the baddies.
    I just don't get the drop from Eq when a revolving account was added.

    The monthly charge was $30/month for the first year and went up to $50/month or something similar so the price increase was not without explanation you’ve just forgotten about it or never read the small print when you signed up, which is understandable.
    Not having an active subscription could be that you’ve already successfully cancelled the plan, somehow.  The important thing is whether you can see any billing and/or payment transactions associated with your AdobeID, and whether you’ve been getting monthly e-mails when each payment is made or when the subscription renewed—like I do.
    It’s the weekend in the US.  You may have more luck with this sort of issue during normal business hours weekdays in the US when the most Adobe staff are at work in the US.  I mean if there was some sort of data-glitch for your account then weekend staff in India may not understand enough about how everything works to get it figured out.  At least you got some answers and it being an introductory price.

    My client requirement is to create a Purchase order with zero price, But as per SAP standard system will not allow to process a PO with net price = 0. How to sort out this scenario.
    Note: Free indicator cannot be used for this scenario for some purpose.

    The scenario where POs are raised for zero value exists in many companies, the items may be free of charge samples or replacements for damaged stock, or simply free gifts.
    As Yogesh corectly pointed out this can be done if the "invoice " indicator is unflagged on the PO item.
    One further comment though, it is up to the person posting the question to decide if it has been fully answered and also it is up to them to decide if they WANT to award points.

  • Snow Leopard shutting down with no warning is getting more complex!

    I have a series 1 Macbook Pro and have updated to Snow Leopard. As with most other people I immediately got problems with the "battery Service" message. So, having read all the various posts, and tried re-calibration, I bought a new battery.
    Charged fully and disconnected adaptor. The machine shut down with no warning at about 85%! I tried a few more times after fully charging the battery and it shut down a number of times - 83%, 85%, 89% and 98%. The battery shows a cycle count of 1. The last time it shut down (89%) I decided to try re-starting without plugging the adaptor back in. The machine started and ran up to the point where it properly started Snow Leopard - when it was about to change from the blue screen - at which point it shut down again. I tried this a number of times and it was absolutely conisistant, doing it every time.
    I then had the bright idea of plugging in the adaptor but watching the LED to see what happened. The LED came on green for 1 or 2 seconds, then went red. I then immediately unplugged it again. I then tried to start the machine with battery only. It started perfectly and went on running until down to 15% at which point it shut down, again with no warning. Tried re-starting - it wouldn't! Plugged the adaptor in so that it would charge the battery whilst using the machine. Then, much to my amazement, while the adaptor was still plugged in, and the battery was far from fully charged, the machine shut down - again without warning. That's "it shut down with battery installed AND mains connected". The machine then wouldn't start, with mains connected. It would switch on for a few seconds then shut down again. To get it to start I needed to remove the battery and run it on mains only.
    That's where I am at the moment, running 'mains only' with no battery installed. It looks as if Snow Leopard sets the battery monitor / charging hardware incorrectly on the MBP. Once set incorrectly it looks as if it loses itself!
    Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

    It really doesn't get any better! Well, not a lot. I decided that I'd try yet another brand new battery. I charged it fully, disconnected the mag connector and it ran happily without shutting down - hooray. However, after putting out the message about low power and about to shut down, at about 5%, it ran to about 2% and shut down without warning. It didn't go to sleep.
    I then couldn't get the machine to start again. I reset the SMC and still no joy. it would start to run, flash the screen a couple of times and then die. To get it to run I had to disconnect the battery, start it, then plug the battery back in again. Snow Leopard does appear to do something odd with the charging hardware. It appears to leave it in an odd state.
    You may be right about Battery Update 1.3, but there appears to be no way of installing it under 10.6.8 - unless you know something I don't!

    If yours is a Free Goods Scenario. Then Mark the Free Item Tab ( Next to Returns) in the Purchase Order detail tab.
    Now you can create a Purchase order with Zero Price. By the time GR thru. 511 Mov. Type (Material receipt with out charge) you can receive the material.
