Move blinking cursor too

I've got a main textfield myTextfield01. When I put focus on another textfield which is empty (either manually by clicking on another field, or like below using setFocus) I want the focus to go back to myTextField01 again. And put the blinking cursor and the very end of whatever is typed into it. So I tried this.
myTextfield01.onKillFocus = function(newFocus:Object) {
    if (newFocus.text == "") {
        Selection.setFocus(myTextfield01);
        Selection.setSelection(myTextfield01.text.length-1, myTextfield01.text.length);
But that didn't work. It went back to myTextfield01, but the blinking cursor stayed at the empty textfield and any text typed would be added to that empty field.
When I put this in frame one:
myTextfield01.onKillFocus = function(newFocus:Object) {
    if (newFocus.text == "") {
        nextFrame());
And this in frame two:
        Selection.setFocus(myTextfield01);
        Selection.setSelection(myTextfield01.text.length-1, myTextfield01.text.length);
it did work. Both focus and cursor where in myTextfield01 again.
So why doesn't it work when I combine it all in one frame?

use the trace() function with the code i gave so you understand the sequence of events dispatched by flash.
myTextfield01.onKillFocus = function(newFocus:Object) {
trace("kill focus event: where you keep trying to setfocus");
    nf=newFocus
this.onMouseUp=function(){
trace("mouse up event.  focus is changed to: "+Selection.getFocus());
if(nf&&nf.text==""){
Selection.setFocus(myTextfield01);
varL=myTextfield01.text.length;
Selection.setSelection(varL,varL);
nf=null;

    my wireless mouse isnt working.  new batteries, green light comes on, blinks, cursor wont move...?

    For the future, you might want to consider  changing batteries in both the keyboard and mouse before they run down completely and/or have any older USB keyboard and mouse on hand for emergency (those can also come in handly if you need to boot using keyboard commands which sometimes fail to respond with a bluetooth keyboard).

    Connected to an external monitor [Fn + F4/F5] to see whether there was any display, nothing has showed on the external monitor, it seemed that no connection established between the two.
    Finally, took the long journey to follow the Service and Maintenance Guide of HP G62 to remove the CMOS battery for well over 15 minutes and put it back. But the result was again disappointed. Tried 4 times already. The latest error message is:

    If really is the BIOS problems, then I will have the difficulties of updating a Window-based BIOS when I couldn’t even load Window!
    (Note: Boot from USB has no point because right now I couldn’t change the boot sequence because the various “Startup Menu” options are not showing up!)
    Secondly, I am still stuck with the Blank Screen with a blinking cursor after I passed the first screen of “Press the ESC key for Startup Menu” when re-booted again!
    Thirdly, I have formatted my Hard Drive more than 3 times during the last few days for testing; I don’t have the OEM pre-loaded Win 7 with me anyone … and I don’t think I have the UEFI installed previously on my system. I did try hold down the Win Key + B with the most updated BIOS in the attached USB …, it came back with the same blank screen with a cursor blinking after reboot.
    Note: the Blank Screen I’m experiencing right now is not completely black, in fact, there is background light from behind the screen and on each reboot, I can see the HP logo and the left corner message of: “Press ESC key for Startup Menu” … So, I suppose that my computer screen is not physically broken at least.
    Requests:
    Please explain to me that what are the problem areas and the root causes if is possible?
    What steps or other tests can be done to make it work again?
    Do you think replacing the entire MotherBoard can cure the Blank Screen with blinking cursor?

  • Windows 7 64-bit black screen and blinking cursor for ages before boot

    Help!
    I'm having the black screen with blinking cursor whenever I try and boot up Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit thru Bootcamp on my MacBook Pro. If i let it just sit there for maybe 2 or 3 minutes, it then goes to the Windows Boot Manager screen and allows me to click on Windows 7 and the it boots perfect. I've tried installing it twice, same thing. No problem booting OS X Snow Leo 10.6.3. Got the right NVidia drivers installed, makes no difference. Have Paragon NTFS installed so I can get thru to NTFS partition from OS X. I badly need Windows too and don't wanna slow it down by running it in Parallels or VMWare Fusion. A little help?
    Thanks a lot!

    Solved! Here's what worked for me, it's located at:

    i think my son watched a movie and added on an viewer that erased the original drivers...now hd is gone and needs to be restored.  attempted several times going to f12 and changed configurations back to original default settings and pressed f9 to save and f10 to exit.
    also attemped hdd recovery mode and there were to options to restore when pressing f8 advanced -- computer locked up; left overnight to see what happens and error message keeps referring to check cable.  have reboted with ac adapter and without (only blinking cursor) attempted to take out battery but unable to unscrew and attempt to use only ac adapter...
    i know nothing else -- any tips will be helpful or it goes to local guy that hopefully can do a recovery....

    got the toshiba recovery disks today (2).  sorry but i'm still having trouble with this process.
    steps to recovery
    1. place the disc into the drive - Toshiba mini starter notebook does not have a drive.
    2. power up the computer while holding down the "C" key
    release the "C" key when the screen reads Toshiba
    3. the computer will format the hard drive and install the factory image.  follow all instruction on the screen
    4. Once the process is complete remove the recovery media and press any key to restart your computer.
    I went out and purchase a Male to Male connector to transfer files.  Got one file in back of hard drive that has cd/rom drive and one on side of mini notebook.  Press and held down "0" to get to boot menu.  There is no choice to select, DVD drive or Flash Drive to highlight so that either one will know who to communicate with to make the
    transfer. (ex: transfer recovery mode disks from d drive to c: drive on mini notebook).
    upon inserting Recovery disk in d: drive; screen pops up that says AutoPlay open folder to view files from DVD drive E removable disk  instead of getting selection here to transfer files on d drive to c:mini notebook.
    Do you know what the problem is?  please help if you can...I will be waiting.
    thanks fixmeup

  • Could not click on anything in Recovery disk and log in screen, but I can move the cursor around. Using 10.8, not sure what's wrong, anyone have an idea?

    So the problem is, I cannot click on anything in the Recovery Disk and Log in screens (to enter your password), but I can move the cursor. My trackpad works fine everywhere else except for these screens. If I connect a USB mouse, I am able to click on things in these screens.
    NOTE: I am not just tapping, I am really clicking on the trackpad.
    I recall some time ago when this wasn't happening, not sure if that was when I was on Leopard. I sort of suspect 10.8.x, but I'm not too sure.
    Has anyone else experienced this? Would appreciate help. Thanks!

    Try an SMC reset. The article covers when this is required, but doing this will not affect anything.

  • How to move the cursor to a text field

    Hello,
    I have a log in window with Username (Text field) and password (Secure Text field). The 'Log In' button is not enabled if I use the Set command. So I wish to use the Keystroke.
    But I need to make sure that Cursor is in the text field and then to keystroke. So how can I move the cursor to the required text filed?
    Note:
    +Why the cursor is not blinking in the text field where I just 'SET' (command)+
    +the value?+

    Well, for a start you can identify the application you're working in. That's kind of important.
    In most cases you can just emulate a press of the tab key but it's kind of a crude a approach (there's no guarantee that you're in the field you expect). Certain applications, though, may have better ways of achieving it, but since we don't know what application you're using we can't say if that's the case here.

  • When I move the cursor over sidebar items they toggle becoming underlined?

    When I move the cursor over sidebar bookmarks lines, it toggles underline on or off. Very annoying. Happens in Firefox 3.6, too.

    You can try to disable some layers and gfx preference settings on the about:config page to see if that helps.

    Safari status bar disappears. I have tried clicking on show status bar, under the View tab and it will only appear when I move the cursor to the top of the screen. I can not minimize the open page, only full screen or close the browser. Any idea how the rectify this issue?

    One enters and exits full-screen with control+command+F keys. This is on the View menu in Safari. Optionally, the green traffic light in your browser title bar, if you roll over it, has the full-screen control it it. While in full-screen mode with Safari, moving your mouse pointer virtually up, and off-screen reveals the Safari title bar again, and you can click the green traffic light to exit full-screen mode.
    You can hide/show the status bar by simply typing command+/. This too, is on the Safari View menu. and in 10.10.1 — it works reliably for me.

  • Newbie needs blinking cursor

    I need a blinking cursor for password entry. I made my
    various images in Photoshop, exported as .png files to keep my
    transparency intact and re-assembled the files in Flash CS3 on
    separate layers. I have 6 different Scenes and have the scenes
    playing and pausing properly - thought I have a bunch of errors,
    the projectors play properly on both Mac and PC. My actions are
    done in AS 1 and 2, since I don't know the difference in those
    versions and AS 3...
    My first Scene is of a password entry. I have the text set in
    Photoshop and am just exposing it letter by letter by using a mask
    layer. Is there a way for me to add a blinking cursor throughout
    the password entry that jumps between letters as I move my mask
    layer?
    Remember, I'm a newbie at this stuff.

    just create a textfield (using actionscript or in the
    authoring environment) and enable its password property (using
    either actionscript or in the authoring environment's property
    panel).

  • I have a blinking cursor whereever I click on whatever website, any suggestions?

    Hello all...
    Unfortunately I cannot remember exactly when my problem started, but it must have been around the time FF8ß was installed on my system.
    Everytime I use FF now, I have a blinking cursor whereever I click inside a webpage.
    It is extremely annoying, being "able" to click on any piece of text on a page and have that blinking cursor sitting there, which I can move around, using the arrow-keys on the keyboard, as this limits the ability to maneuvre a webpage with the help of these buttons as well as the pageup/down-buttons. It is like the whole text of a website is editable as if working on it in MS Word or a texteditor, but obviously without the ability to actually change anythign.
    Problem also occurs in safemode.
    Any help is appreciated!

    Mother of God - that's it!
    Thanks to you, sir! I was googling for "firefox feature blinking cursor" but that really did not get me anywhere. ;)
    Thanks again...

  • Jtable, focus and blinking cursor

    Hello,
    perhaps a solution for my problem is already posted here, but I didn't find it here so far.
    I have an editable table with JTextField cell editors. The cell editor doesn't inherit from DefaultCellEditor but from AbstractCellEditor (I tried it with DefaultCellEditor and it didn't work too). On traversing the table with the Tab-Key the next cell can be edited, but there is no blinking cursor visible (not until the first input is made into the Textfield).
    My question is: Does anybody know a way to make the cursor blink directly after the Tab-Key has been pressed?
    Thank you in advance,
    Marvin

    Thanks qussev,
    that looks promising but I cannot find more than a picture (no code) where the focus is outside the selection. Does anybody know how this can be done?

  • Screen moves with cursor

    My daughter has a g4 and just the other day for no apparent reason, the desktop seems to be about 10-15% too big for the screen. when you move the cursor, the screen/display moves around as the cursor moves. As you aproach the edge of the screen with the cursor, the desktop picture actually moves in the opposite direction to give access all the way to the edge. it's kind of strange.... I have tried to adjust any settings that I could find. It is set at the highest resolution. Lower res just makes things bigger and fatter.....

    Well I figured it out, right click the arrow that makes the screen bigger and unclick the Hide Toolbar. I knew it couldn't be that hard.
