Move EUL or business Area to another schema?

Hi,
Is it possible to move EUL or business Area to another schema? I will develop EUL on my dev server and move to prod server. Does the schema nanem have to be the same? If it is a complex issue where can I find more info?
Thanks

Yes you can. You can either get the DBA to import the dev EUL layer into Production or you import your eex files into Production yourself.

    Hi Gurus,
I am working for a Indian client in ECC6.
presently we are using "ABUMN" TCODE to transfer asset from one business area to another business area. But, in this process we have to create a new asset or transfer to a existing asset with new business area. So, we are retiring the Old asset transferred and the total value and accm. dep is transferred to the new asset.
Now, my client doesnot want to create a new asset, he wants the old asset no. to be retained and  keep track of the transfers from one business area to another.
In Time Dependent intervals, i am unable to change Business are. it is only allowing to keep track of changes in Cost centre. Likewise i want for Business area.
    Can anybody help?
    regards

Double click Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data.
Select your screen layout and double click "Logical field group" folder.

  • Trnasfer of Asset frm one Business Area to Another in same Company code

    Hi Experts
In my Asset Accounting Business Area is mandatory field and when I transfer asset from one business area to another business area system change the asset number from old to new number, the problem is that suppose asset A with useful life of 10 years already utilized three years in business area 1010 and after three years when I transfer this asset to another business area 1020 system again calculate 10 years in new asset which is wrong it should be seven years because 3 years already used in previous business area, please help me that how to resolve this issue.

    Hi
If you are transferring to a new asset - You can maintain the useful life in the new asset master as 7 yrs
Else, do the settings in IMG > AA > Transactions > Transfers > Inter CO Asset Trf > Define Trf variants.... Here, you can try to configure which fields must be taken over during transfers... This is usually used for Cross Comp Trf.. however, try to use in your case and see if it works

  • Allocation of cost from one business area to another business area

    Hello friends,
Client Requirement: They have 5 business areas. one is for Head office and other 4 are business operations. Their head office expenses are booked under various cost centers in H.O Business Area. Now they want to allocate all H.O expenses to other business areas where business operations are carried on.
currently all allocations are made manually. now they want to incorporate in SAP.
is it possible to allocate the expenses which are booked under one business area to other business area???
pls give your ideas for how to allocate those expenses.....

They didn't have profit centre. so i cann't go for that option
Each operation area has many cost centres and internal orders... i have to allocate the costs from the cost center to internal orders.... if it is a same business area there is no problem we can create assessment cylce and allocate the cost.... the problem comes only when the allocation needs from one business area's cost center to other business area internal orders
for that the solution might be create Secondary cost element As you said and by using assessment cycle we could allocate the costs...

  • Business area not appearing in GR of Subcontracting (Movement type 543)

    Dear Gurus
We have created new plant B  (and assigend to Company code B) by copying existing plant A (assigned to Company code A).  Business area B was defined and assigned to plant B and valuation area. When we do normal GR document business area appears in material document but when we are  doing GR for sub contracting (posting key 81) with movement type 543 Business area doesnt appear in the material doc .
In cancellation of Subcontracting material document for plant B (Movement type 544) Business area appears properly .  We are unable to analyse the issue. Request your help.
    Appreciate your early response
    Regards
    Arunjit C

    Hi,
I assume you know the GL account that should be posted when doing the GR for subcontrating with movement type 543. Try SA38 report RM07CUFA which compares the movement type field status and the GL account field status.
Maybe business area is suppressed in one of the field status and cannot be posted to?
    Best regards, Christian

  • Business Area in Contract(ES22) is blank on move-out cancellation though IC Web

    Hi expert,
Need help in finding the root cause for the below scenario:
During move-in through IC-Web, business area field is getting populated in ECC at contract level(ES22).
Then we create a move-out, business area field still remains.
But when we cancel the move-out, this business area field becomes blank.
Business Area Field name in ES22:
    EVERD-GSBER
I tried putting RFC trace but not able to find any relevant program.
Please let me know if you have come across this type of issue or atleast give me some pointer?
    Appreciate your help.

  • Business Area Export/Import  Conditions Error

    Hi,
I'm working on exporting one business area from one schema X to another Y.
Well I'm exporting the business area from the X schema using the administrator
    and following the next steps:
    [Menu]
    File/Export...
    [Export wizard Dialog]
Selected objects in the EUL/ Selecting Business Area Definitions,
    folders,Workbooks.
I'm saving the resultant file like "BusinesArea.eex"
So, I'm importing the "BusinesArea.eex" file to the Y schema, using the command
    line:
         ..\Dis51adm /connect usr/[email protected] /import BusinesArea.eex
All seems to works fine, but when I try to open one of the exported workbooks I get
    the next error:
    1) First a dialog box appears asking me for "Open the workbook in the current db
    account."
    2) when I accept the previous option, I get an Error dialog box with the "Missing
    Item condition" text.
Apparently the conditions are not exported to the file.
Does anyone know how could I export all the X schema Business area conditions,
in order to import them to the Y schema, avoiding this error?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your answer Skunitha,
Well, just to clarify this a little bit more my question:
I'm trying to open the workbooks using the discoverer desktop client (9.0.2.39.01) and the conditions were created in the desktop not in the administrator.
Well the process I'm runnig a script to delete the EUL in the Y schema, create a new EUL (in the Y schema), and import into the Y schema the exported BA from the X schema.
All works fine, but when I open in the Administrator the recent imported Business Area in Y, I can see all the folders and its items, But when I open the Desktop to select one of the workbooks, the workbook list appears empty.
I made what you said Skunitha, to validate the folders and I getting beside the folders the next error:
ORA-02019: connection description for remote database not found
Does any body know why I'm getting this?

  • Making Business Area as modifiable

    Hi,
I want to make the Business Area (BA) GSBER field as modifiable even after the entry is posted.
Reason: Sometimes users give wrong BA at time of entry & later on it gives problems in reporting.
I tried making the BA field as changeable in Document Line item. But still after doing so, its not working. Earlier i successfully done the same for my House bank field.
Plz suggest whether it can be done or not.
If yes, where i am missing something.
    If No, whatz the workaround.
    regards
PS: Points will be suitable rewarded

Ok. I agree with the replies.
Also i posted the same issue in SAPFANS & i am posting the reply by FI guru Runman.
<i>"You can't change account assignment objects in the posted document, so answer is NO.
You can try to use tr. FAGLGA31 (distribution in New GL) to re-allocate account values from one business area to another business area, but this process will post additional documents for that."</i>

  • Business Area reallocation

    Dear Experts,
I am facing a problem in business area. At the time of entry, I dont know which business area it should post. I will select one business area. At period end, is it possible to reallocate values from one business area to another business area.
In my present implementation one machine is used for two business area. How can I allocate depreciation to individual business areas?.
Awaiting your reply in detail please.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi, Its not possible to change the business area in posted document on later, but you can use the time interval in asset master data, time dependent tab, to charge the depreciation to different cost center.

  • Move Business Area and EUL from one schema to another

    Hi,
I need to take a EUL from the schema where it is now and bring it to another schema. I use Oracle Discoverer 3.1 Admin Edition to Export Business Area then import it in the new schema. Everything works fine except the fact that workbooks (.dis file) created in the original schema returns no data (as it does in the original schema).
    Anybody can help ?

    Hi,
There could be a number of reasons for this, but the first thing to check is whether Discoverer is generating the same SQL when the report is run in the two EULs.
If the SQL is the same Discoverer could still return different data if for example there were user specific conditions in the query or language specific conditions in the query and the default language was different in the EULs.
Are you using an Apps or database mode EUL? What is in the workbook query that you are running?
