Moved dehydration Store to Oracle 10g DB

Hi... I'd like to make sure that this error in starting up the BPEL PM ( version 2.2 ) is OK after moving the dehydration store to an Oracle 10g database. I loaded the LoanFlow Demo and it seems to run fine.
Thanks, Matt

Matt, it seems like you are running the JDev Based Beta with the new workflow extensions. You should get the Technotes from the person that you supplied you the beta version.
Anyway, to install the additional tables, please run
pcttask.sql, pcowf.sql, catpcreports.sql using sql*plus into the right schema. You will find these files in <home>\integration\bpm\runtime\admin\sql

  • How to maintain Data availability in Oracle 10g RAC when LOADING the data?

    Hi
    we are having Oracle 10g server on Sun Solaris(64 bit) with 8 GB RAM.
    We are in need of moving the database to "Oracle 10g RAC". (Real Application Clusters)
    Our doubt is when loading the data into RAC server, will it affect the application?
    coz' we heared that RAC server should be down when we load the data.
    Is this correct?
    If yes, then How to maintain High data availability when we load the data in RAC server?? Please help me.
    Thanks.

    First, is this the same question that a colleague of yours posted in this thread?
    Data Load in RAC
    Second, are other sessions querying the table that you're loading data into? If so, how are you loading the data?

  • Oracle BPEL SOA - CUBE_SCOPE/DOCUMENT dehydration store contents

    I have some queries concerning what bpel variables and values will be stored to Dehydration store in case oracle bpel. Consider I have an process "P1" with two scopes: an outer scope "s1" with variables "s1a,s1b,s1c" and within this s1 scope there is a nested inner scope "s2" with variables "s2a,s2b,s2c". When the process instance ends or if there is a wait activity at the end of outer scope s1, then the process state will be moved to dehydration store.
    My question here is would oracle soa server store all the variables of both scopes s1 and s2 to dehydration store or since s2 scope is like a local loop within s1, would oracle only persist variables and values of processes of the outer scope s1 alone?
    The reason why i ask is that the inner scope S2 in my process case handles a very huge xml of size more than 20 MB and i do not want this to be dehydrated to datastore at the end of process execution as this will fill up the soa table space quickly.

    Create a full user export of the ORABPEL/ORAESB/ORAWSM users and load them into your new database.
    Change the datasource in the SOA Application Server to your new database.

  • Data moving between Oracle 10g with CLOB fields

    Hi all,
    I have a trouble in migrate data between Oracle 10g with different platform. The worst thing is that I don't have a DBA account for the DB importing data. I think I can't use IMP or IMPDP in this way. So I seek help from sql developer, but it seems having another problem with CLOB data moving.
    Re: EA2 : SQL Developer 1.5 : export data CLOB columns
    in the thread, I found someone wrote this:
    - SQL Developer v1.5 EA2 - exports first 4000 chars (which is anyway too small for me, because my CLOBs are larger - if they were smaller, I would have made them VARCHAR2s instead!).
    I would like to ask:
    1, What SQL Developer v1.5 EA2 is? Is it the Data Modeling one?
    2, How to export table data with CLOB with SQL Developer v1.5 EA2? Since 4000 chars is enough for me to use.
    OR any other method to export CLOB but not IMP / IMPDP ?
    Now I am using the spool of sqlplus to export CLOB.
    Many thanks,

    1. The EAs are Early Adapters, betas, so you should expect the same behaviour from the latest 1.5.4 production release.
    2. Exports can be done with the Database Export tool, through the table's context menu in the navigator tree or the result grid's context menu.
    Have fun,
    K.

  • Need guidence to store scan pdf in oracle 10g

    Hello guru
    I have 20000000 (2 corer) A4 size scan pdf containing text and images having
    Average size 0f 0.5 mb. please guide me how can i store it in oracle database and what i have to do for same.
    I am using oracle 10g forms as a front end for inserting & retriving scan pdf from database.
    Regards
    Vishal

    Vishal,
    Here are 2 options , first you can use either procedure or anonymous block to load clob data
    First Method -- I loaded alert.log successfully and you can imagine how big this file can be (5MB in my test case), in your case you need to specify your pdf file. CLOB/BLOB can take upto 4GB data
    Make sure you have privs to create , read or write to directory
    create table t1clob (
    clob_data clob  -- you can use blob
    CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY DIR AS '/my_path_to_pdf_file/pdf';
    DECLARE
       clob_data   CLOB;
       clob_file   BFILE;
    BEGIN
       INSERT INTO t1clob
       VALUES (EMPTY_CLOB ())
       RETURNING clob_text INTO clob_data;
       clob_file   := BFILENAME ('DIR', 'wwalert_dss.log');
       DBMS_LOB.fileopen (clob_file);
       DBMS_LOB.loadfromfile (clob_data,
                              clob_file,
                              DBMS_LOB.getlength (clob_file)
       DBMS_LOB.fileclose (clob_file);
       COMMIT;
    END;
    Second Method: Use of Sqlldr
    Example of controlfile
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE alert.log "STR '|\n'"
    REPLACE INTO  table t1clob
       clob_text char(30000000)
    )Also check this link for more example
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/LoadLobDataUsingSqlLoader.php
    Hope this helps.

  • Moving a database from windows oracle xe to linux oracle 10g Enterprise

    I tried exporting my database in windows oracle xe over the network to oracle 10g Enterprise Edition on a linux platform but I got the following error message:
    ---10.0.2.0 not compatible.
    I then did a local export in windows and moved the dumpfile to linux and I got the following error message:
    ---Bad dumpfile
    Please kindly assist me with a suggestion on how to migrate my database.
    Thanks.
    Lauretta.

    Which version of Oracle do you run on windows?
    I think, you didn't move the dump file using binary option on linux and that is why you got 'bad dump'.
    Make sure you ftp the file in binary mode.

  • Oracle 10g function to convert GML 3.1.1 to SDO_GEOMETRY

    In Oracle 11g there is a function available to convert GML 3.1.1 to SDO_GEOMETRY (SDO_UTIL.FROM_GML311GEOMETRY)
    However I need to support this in Oracle 10g that does not contain this function.
    Does anybody have this function for me in Java or PL/SQL?
    The Java classes GML, GML2, GML3 and GML 3g do not support GML 3.1.1 (with <patches>)
    Thanks for any help!
    Ron

    Hi Ron,
    I would second John's advice to go Simon's Java route as probably the best way to go if you are truly trapped on 10g. Note that were you to consider going the PLSQL route, the 10g XMLTYPE has a limitation of 64K for the payload of any XML tag. This means any GML linestring or polygon with more than 64K of coordinate data would not be possible to store or manipulate as XMLTYPE.
    ORA-31167: 64k size limit for XML node
    This makes using XMLTYPE tools to work with GML a bit of a bust on 10g. Moving to 11g is definitely something you want to consider if GML is in your requirements. Also, as a GML user please consider putting in an enhancement request to Oracle Spatial to support GML 3.2 and 3.3 (feel free to piggy back on 9788193).
    Oracle Spatial and support for GML 3.2.1?
    The 3.3 spec is due out any day now. The existing 11g reader/writer almost works with the new specs if they just added a few tweaks for gml:id and the namespace.
    Cheers,
    Paul

  • Central Dehydration Store

    Hi I have a simple question (I hope)
    As of SOA Suite 11g is it now possible to use one database with multiple dehydration stores?
    The example is:
    I have to developers on seperate machines both with JDeveloper 11g WLS and SOA Suite 11g components installed the dehydration store that each developers SOA Suite component would point to the same database. Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Saheem,
    I have one Oracle instance with 2 x SOA 11g dehydration store: one using prefix DEVA (DEVA_SOAINFRA, DEVA_MDS) and one using prefix DEVB (DEVB_SOAINFRA, DEVB_SOAINFRA).
    I have 2 types of developers: one set with SOA suite components setup for DB Schema prefixed DEVA and one with SOA components setup for DB Schema prefixed DEVB.
    I evane have in same oracle instance a 10g dehydration (with orabpel, oraesb schema) as we still maintain 10g apps.
    Hope this helps.

    i want make two diffrent schema for running bpel(instance hibernation) and another one for esb. will it be possible. am i right here ?
    is this enough to change datasource and connection pool properties in asc ?.
    what is name of sql i have to rcompile in the 10g schema ?
    esb schema setup:
    ===============
    D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleSOA\integration\esb\sql\oracle

    any other scrips i need to compile ?
    any document ??
    Regards,
    Bogi.

    Without the password you won't be able to use the migration exporter nor will you be able to unset it.
    In this case the official way is to ask the user for the password or another way is to use a password recovery tool for MS Access.

  • Oracle 10G New Feature........Part 1

    Dear all,
    from last couple of days i was very busy with my oracle 10g box,so i think this is right time to
    share some intresting feature on 10g and some internal stuff with all of you.
    Have a look :-
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Oracle 10g Memory and Storage Feature.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    1.Automatic Memory Management.
    2.Online Segment Shrink
    3.Redolog Advisor, checkpointing
    4.Multiple Temporary tablespace.
    5.Automatic Workload Repository
    6.Active Session History
    7.Misc
    a)Rename Tablespace
    b)Bigfile tablespace
    c)flushing buffer cache
    8.ORACLE INTERNAL
    a)undocumented parameter (_log_blocks_during_backup)
    b)X$ view (x$messages view)
    c)Internal Structure of Controlfile
    1.Automatic memory management
    ================================
    This feature reduce the overhead of oracle DBA.previously mostly time we need to set diff oracle SGA parameter for
    better performance with the help of own experience,advice views and by monitoring the behaviour
    of oracle database.
    this was just time consuming activity.........
    Now this feature makes easy life for oracle DBA.
    Just set SGA_TARGET parameter and it automatically allocate memory to different SGA parameter.
    it focus on DB_CACHE_SIZE
    SHARED_POOL_SIZE
    LARGE_POOL
    JAVA_POOL
    and automatically set it as
    __db_cache_size
    __shared_pool_size
    __large_pool_size
    __java_pool_size
    check it in alert_log
    MMAN(memory manager) process is new in 10g and this is responsible for sga tuning task.
    it automatically increase and decrease the SGA parameters value as per the requirement.
    Benefit:- Maximum utlization of available SGA memory.
    2.Online Segment Shrink.
    ==========================
    hmmmmm again a new feature by oracle to reduce the downtime.Now oracle mainly focus on availablity
    thats why its always try to reduce the downtime by intrducing new feature.
    in previous version ,reducing High water mark of table was possible by
    Exp/imp
    or
    alter table move....cmd. but on these method tables was not available for normal use for long hrs if it has more data.
    but in 10g with just few command we can reduce the HWmark of table.
    this feature is available for ASSM tablespaces.
    1.alter table emp enable row movement.
    2.alter table emp shrink space.
    the second cmd have two phases
    first phase is to compact the segment and in this phase DML operations are allowed.
    second phase(shrink phase)oracle shrink the HWM of table, DML operation will be blocked at that time for short duration.
    So if want to shrink the HWM of table then we should use it with two diff command
    first compact the segment and then shrink it on non-peak hrs.
    alter table emp shrink space compact. (This cmd doesn't block the DML operation.)
    and alter table emp shrink space. (This cmd should be on non-peak hrs.)
    Benefit:- better full table scan.
    3.Redolog Advisor and checkpointing
    ================================================================
    now oracle will suggest the size of redo log file by V$INSTANCE_RECOVERY
    SELECT OPTIMAL_LOGFILE_SIZE
    FROM V$INSTANCE_RECOVERY
    this value is influence with the value of FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET .
    Checkpointing
    Automatic checkpointing will be enable after setting FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET to non-zero value.
    4.Multiple Temporary tablespace.
    ==================================
    Now we can manage multiple temp tablespace under one group.
    we can create a tablespace group implicitly when we include the TABLESPACE GROUP clause in the CREATE TEMPORARY TABLESPACE or ALTER TABLESPACE statement and the specified tablespace group does not currently exist.
    For example, if group1 is not exists,then the following statements create this groups with new tablespace
    CREATE TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp1 TEMPFILE '/u02/oracle/data/temp01.dbf'
    SIZE 50M
    TABLESPACE GROUP group1;
    --Add Existing temp tablespace into group by
    alter tablespace temp2 tablespace group group1.
    --we can also assign the temp tablespace group on database level as default temp tablespace.
    ALTER DATABASE <db name> DEFAULT TEMPORARY TABLESPACE group1;
    benefit:- Better I/O
    One sql can use more then one temp tablespace
    5.AWR(Automatic Workload Repository):-
    ================================== AWR is built in Repository and Central point of Oracle 10g.Oracle self managing activities
    is fully dependent on AWR.by default after 1 hr, oracle capure all database uses information and store in AWR with the help of
    MMON process.we called it Memory monitor process.and all these information are kept upto 7 days(default) and after that it automatically purge.
    we can generate a AWR report by
    SQL> @?/rdbms/admin/awrrpt
    Just like statspack report but its a advance and diff version of statspack,it provide more information of Database as well as OS.
    it show report in Html and Text format.
    we can also take manually snapshot for AWR by
    BEGIN
    DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPOSITORY.CREATE_SNAPSHOT ();
    END;
    **The STATISTICS_LEVEL initialization parameter must be set to the TYPICAL or ALL to enable the Automatic Workload Repository.

    New Automatic alert and database advisor with the help of AWR.
    6.Active Session History:-
    ==========================
    V$active_session_history is view that contain the recent session history.
    the memory for ASH is comes from SGA and it can't more then 5% of Shared pool.
    So we can get latest and active session report from v$active_session_history view and also get histortical data of
    of session from DBA_HIST_ACTIVE_SESS_HISTORY.
    v$active_session_history include some imp column like:-
    ~SQL identifier of SQL statement
    ~Object number, file number, and block number
    ~Wait event identifier and parameters
    ~Session identifier and session serial number
    ~Module and action name
    ~Client identifier of the session
    7.Misc:-
    ========
    Rename Tablespace:-
    =================
    in 10g,we can even rename a tablespace by
    alter tablespace <tb_name> rename to <tb_name_new>;
    This command will update the controlfile,data dictionary and datafile header,but dbf filename will be same.
    **we can't rename system and sysaux tablespace.
    Bigfile tablespace:-
    ====================
    Bigfile tablespace contain only one datafile.
    A bigfile tablespace with 8K blocks can contain a 32 terabyte datafile.
    Bigfile tablespaces are supported only for locally managed tablespaces with automatic segment-space management.
    we can take the advantage of bigfile tablespace when we are using ASM or other logical volume with RAID.
    without ASM or RAID ,it gives poor response.
    syntax:-
    CREATE BIGFILE TABLESPACE bigtbs
    Flushing Buffer Cache:-
    ======================
    This option is same as flushing the shared pool,but only available with 10g.
    but i don't know, whats the use of this command in prod database......
    anyway we can check and try it on test server for tuning n testing some query etc....
    SQL> alter system flush buffer_cache;
    System altered.
    ++++++++++++++++++
    8.Oracle Internal
    ++++++++++++++++++
    Here is some stuff that is not related with 10g but have some intresting things.
    a)undocumented parameter "_log_blocks_during_backup"
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++
    as we know that oracle has generate more redo logs during hotbackup mode because
    oracle has to maintain the a complete copy of block into redolog due to split block.
    we can also change this behaviour by setting this parameter to False.
    If Oracle block size equals the operating system block size.thus reducing the amount of redo generated
    during a hot backup.
    WITHOUT ORACLE SUPPORT DON'T SET IT ON PROD DATABASE.THIS DOCUMENT IS JUST FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSE.
    b)some X$ views (X$messages)
    ++++++++++++++++
    if you are intresting in oracle internal architecture then x$ view is right place for getting some intresting things.
    X$messages :-it show all the actions that a background process do.
    select * from x$messages;
    like:-
    lock memory at startup MMAN
    Memory Management MMAN
    Handle sga_target resize MMAN
    Reset advisory pool when advisory turned ON MMAN
    Complete deferred initialization of components MMAN
    lock memory timeout action MMAN
    tune undo retention MMNL
    MMNL Periodic MQL Selector MMNL
    ASH Sampler (KEWA) MMNL
    MMON SWRF Raw Metrics Capture MMNL
    reload failed KSPD callbacks MMON
    SGA memory tuning MMON
    background recovery area alert action MMON
    Flashback Marker MMON
    tablespace alert monitor MMON
    Open/close flashback thread RVWR
    RVWR IO's RVWR
    kfcl instance recovery SMON
    c)Internal Structure of Controlfile
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    The contents of the current controlfile can be dumped in text form.
    Dump Level Dump Contains
    1 only the file header
    2 just the file header, the database info record, and checkpoint progress records
    3 all record types, but just the earliest and latest records for circular reuse record types
    4 as above, but includes the 4 most recent records for circular reuse record types
    5+ as above, but the number of circular reuse records included doubles with each level
    the session must be connected AS SYSDBA
    alter session set events 'immediate trace name controlf level 5';
    This dump show lots of intresting information.
    it also show rman recordes if we used this controlfile in rman backup.

  • Nested tables and multiset operators in Oracle 10g

    Consider the following scenario:
    We have two identical relations R and S defined as:
    CREATE TABLE R(
    a INTEGER,
    b table_type)
    NESTED TABLE b STORE as b_1;
    CREATE TABLE S(
    a INTEGER,
    b table_type)
    NESTED TABLE b STORE as b_2;
    where table_typ is defined as
    CREATE TYPE table_typ AS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(8);
    Suppose we have two instances of R and S, each having one tuple as follows: R(1,table_typ('a','b')) and S(1,table_typ('b','c')).
    I would like to "merge" these two simple instances (e.g., achieve the effect of a simple SELECT * FROM R UNION SELECT * FROM S query) and obtain the following resulting instance: Result(1,table_typ('a','b','c')).
    Would this be possible in Oracle 10g? A simple UNION does not work (I got a "inconsistent datatypes: expected - got SCOTT.TABLE_TYP" error). I also took a look at the MULTISET UNION operator over nested tables available in Oracle 10g, but it doesn't seem to get me anywhere. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Laura

  • Problem in Loading Data from SQL Server 2000 to Oracle 10g

    Hi All,
    I am a university student and using ODI for my final project on real-time data warehousing. I am trying to load data from MS SQL Server 2000 into Oracle 10g target table. Everything goes fine until I execute the interface for the initial load. When I choose the CKM Oracle(Create unique index on the I$ table) km, the following step fails:
    21 - Integration - Prj_Dim_RegionInterface - Create Unique Index on flow table
    Where Prj_Dim_Region is the name of my target table in Oracle.
    The error message is:

    I am using a surrogate key column in my target table alongwith the natural key. The natural key is populated by the primary key of my source table, but for the surrogate key, I have created a sequence in my oracle schema where the target table exists and have used the following code for mapping:
    <%=snpRef.getObjectName( "L" , "SQ_PRJ_DIM_REGION" , "D" )%>.nextval
    I have chosen to execute this code on target.
    Among my attempts to solve this problem was to set Create Index option of the CKM Oracle(Create Index for the I$ Table) to No so that it wont create any index on the flow table. I also tried to use the simple CKM Oracle km . Both solutions allowed the interface to execute successfully without any errors, but the data was not loaded into the target table.
    When I right-click on the Prj_Dim_Region data store and choose Data, it shows empty. Pressing the SQL button in this data store shows a dialog box " New Query" where I see this query:
    select * from NOVELTYFURNITUREDW.PRJ_DIM_REGION
    But when i press OK to run it, I get this error message:

    Hi Cezar,
    Can u plz help me with this scenario?
    I have one Oracle data model with 19 source tables and one SQL Server data model with 10 target tables. I have created 10 interfaces which use JournalizedDataOnly on one of the tables in the interface; e.g in interface for DimCustomer target table, I have 2 tables, namely Customer and Address, but the journalizing filter appear only on Customer table and this option is disabled for Address automatically.
    Now I want to create a package using OdiWaitForLog event detection. Is it possible to put all these 10 interfaces in just one package to populate the target tables? It works fine when I have only one interface and I use the name of one table in the interface for Table Name parameter of OdiWaitForLogData event, but when I try a comma seperated list of table names[Customer, Address] this error happens
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    and if I use this method <%=odiRef.getObjectName("L","model_code","logical_schema","D")%>, I get this error
    "-CDC_SET_NAME=Exception getObjectName("L", "model_code", "logical_schema", "D") : SnpLSchema.getLSchemaByName : SnpLschema does not exist" "
    Please let me know how to make it work?
    Do I need to create separate data models each including only those tables which appear in their corresponding interface and package? Or do I need to create multiple packages each with only one journalized interface to populate only one target table?
    Thank you for your time in advance.
    Regards,
    Neel
