If possible RMA the board. If not, ask local store if they can reflash BIOS for you.

  • Installing OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo) and it froze, now won't reboot - Help anyone?

The software update needed about 30 minutes to download and did so with no problems.  While initializing and "moving things into place" everything froze and I had no choice but to hold down the power button and try to reboot.
Now, the OS will NOT reboot, I can however, choose to use the Command-R keys and restore from TimeMachine or try to Repair from the DiskUtility. I wanted to find out if there was another way before going to these options, any suggestions?
    Thanks...

    Hi bernphys39,
With some patience and a lot of thought, I was able to reboot my computer without any glitches. Here's how I did it,
If you are using Lion there's a recovery mode: while restarting your computer hold down Command-R key which will bring up several options, re-install, restore via TimeMachine, disk utility etc. and an option to connect via Wi-Fi if needed.
These are great options, however, I didn't want to use any of those options (didn't want to erase my drive, didn't want to re-install etc. etc.). I decided to use the Safe-Boot option, in addition to a bunch of other tricks.
    1. I powered down the computer
    2. Removed the battery and let everything cool down
    3. Put the battery back in place
    4. Removed all peripheral devices, USB cables etc. except the power cable
    5. Pressed the Power Button and held the Shift key down - this is "Safe Mode"
    6. Once the computer booted in Safe Mode, I used Disk Utility and Verified my Disk which ran  a diagnostics test to make sure everything was running smoothly. The test should tell you if everything is ok, if not click Repair disk.
    7. Since all was good, I did one last double check on applications that start up on login
    8. I then powered down by turning the computer off - Shut Down
    9. Waited about 5 minutes and powered up again.
    10. Everything's working fine and making sure TimeMachine is on schedule for another backup.
Advice: Wait before you download the Client Combo! And read exactly what it does, if you feel it doesn't apply to your computer don't download it and wait. (For example, if you are using only Mac apps - no Microsoft apps, then don't download an update that fixes a glitch in Microsoft Word).
Hope this helps anyone who had the same problem as me :)

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • I tried to update Photoshop CS6 through CC, and PS got corrupted and wont open now.

I tried to update Photoshop CS6 through CC, and PS got corrupted and wont open now. I uninstalled it, but now I can't re-install photoshop...installer just gives me the option to uninstall.
This is my job, so very important .
    Thanks
    Johnny

Download the CS6 installer from this link it should install on any machine the meets the specs. Even without a serial it should install as a trial version. If CS6 was activated on your system your CS6 credentials should still be there and when you install it should be activated. Then use CS6 menu Help>Updates to install the updated,  CS6 installs need to be updated.

I updated to the iSO6 and my phone now keeps crashing  while saying, "Invalid SIM." What do I do?

Thank you very much! I actually tried doing that with a paper clip but was not successsful. I feel I tried plugging in the clip in in every possible way and it still did not work. Is there is a special trick to the way this needs to be done? I felt like if I kep pushing, I was going to damage the device.

A.) Download >>this<< bios archive and place it on your desktop. Do not decompress.
B.) Download and install the >>MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<< .
C.) Insert your FAT32 formatted usb stick.
D.) Make sure that all win 8 options are disabled. (Fast Boot etc) Also make sure the legacy USB is enabled.
E.) Start the forum flash tool and select option 1. Then point the tool at the compressed archive we downloaded earlier. Then to your USB Flash Drive.
F.) Boot to the USB from working bios B.
G.) Once it booted successfully switch to bios A without powering down or rebooting
H.) Now follow the directions and let the tool flash bios A with desired version

Yes Bernhard I already did but only thing they are saying is they can't help...
I think we'll have to wait for the official release of the bios and pray it will include raid orom 11.5.x.x because now I have a fourth SSD in my arsenal.
By the way thank you for your consideration.

why would msi put Mflash in their bios, if it dosent work?
why am i forced to use a tool which isnt supported by MSi?
"The forum nor MSI is responsible if it fails for you.
Nor is this software supported by MSI technical support!"
    Your are not 'forced' to do anything! The forum USB flash method works. If you don't want to use it, then that is your decision. Here is the link to MSI Technical Support so you can ask them about it;

    >> How could a mobo BIOS fix your display problem?
I thought so as well at first.
The solution seems kinda like the one in this thread: http://forums.viaarena.com/messageview.aspx?catid=31&threadid=74011&enterthread=y
My problem is well explained there as well.
I've been building pc's for many years, and it's the first for me as well, where I might have to flash the MB BIOS to be able to run 1440x900. Probably because it's an onboard display adapter. Not usually a fan of those, but since the computer with the problem is for Windows use only (and no gaming), I saw no use in spending money on a display adapter other than the one bundled with the MB.
From the thread I pasted above:
"The VIA Unichrome onboard video does support this resolution, but the mainboard maker has to put this resolution into the mainboard's VGA BIOS in order for you to have this resolution available.
VGA BIOS is built into the mainboard's BIOS if you have onboard video of any kind. In order to update the VGA BIOS you must update the mainboard's BIOS. You cannot do them seperately. BIOS updates must come from the maker of the mainboard."
"For example - here is the latest BIOS for ASUS P5VDC-MX motherboard, which uses P4M800 UniChrome:
    BIOS Version 0709
    1. Initial Release for P5VDC-MX Version 2.0
    2. Add Support for 1440x900 WXGA
    3. Add support for RAID5 "
Seems like this is the solution, at least for the ASUS and ECS mainboard. Both of the endusers asked ASUS And ECS and they made BIOS's available that was compatible with 1440x900 resolution.
    >> Have you installed the drivers for you monitor yet?
Yep, and it didn't work :(

Please try to install a 64 bit operating the regular way, not virtualize it.
