Movement type setting to control blocked, unrestricted or quality stock

Hi All,
I am trying to find out what exact setting within a movement type controls whether the material goes in to unrectricted, blocked or quality stock. For example 101 and 103. Movement type 101 receives the material in to unrestricted stock while 103 takes it in to blocked stock. I compared 101 and 103 settings and found them to be similar. So I am trying to understand what exact setting seperates these movement types.

Checking in OMJJ is probably waste of time, as you cannot change such indicator.
As you probably know, you can only create new movements by copy of an exisitng movement, so you cannot really change the behaviour of a movement.
If you want to investigate in more detail, then check the enties in tables starting with T156

I need to move the stock from Unrestricted to Quality Stock. I dont want to use Movt. 322 as it is reversal of 321. Is there any other way out?

322 mvt is the better option. 322 is not only reversal of 321. also this will be used in many occassions to bring stock from Un restricted to Quality Inspection. for example in recurring inspection (09 inspection type), material will move from Unrestricted to Quality Inspection with 322 mvt type only.
Can you please explain why you dont want to use this mvt type tp bring stock to Quality Inspection?

Movement type 671 (copy) to blocked stock instead of unrestricted use

Hello,
I want to post the stock from a return delivery (created with reference to return line of a stock transport order) to blocked stock instead of unrestricted use stock.
Standard SAP uses delivery item category NLRN (Return StockTransItm) and movement type 671 (TR to stock in transit).
I want to do the same thing that movement type 671 does but post the GR to blocked stock.

Normally the process for intercompany 'return' stock transfer is as
follows:
1) Create an intercompany stock transfer order with flag 'Return'
   (transaction ME21) or an item with the return flag (field RETPO)
2) Create a delivery with VL10B (or VL04)
Cross-company, delivery type NCR, item category NCRN
Intra company, delivery type NLR, item category NLRN
The delivery type will be assigned via Customizing IMG -> Materials
Management -> Purchasing -> Purchase Order -> Returns Order -> Store
Return
3) Create with the transaction MIGO a goods receipt from the receiving
   plant (the plant that created the NB purchase order for return -
   therfore the quantity is negative) with movement type 101
   (this step is only necessary with the two-step procedure).
   The goods receipt will NOT be created with reference to the delivery,
   that means, that the returns delivery will not be updated. In
   the system posts a goods issue with reference to the
   returns purchase order that is the system converts
   the movement type due to the returns indicator.
   Cross company   161
   Intra company   161
   If the one-step procedure is used, step 3 needs not to be performed,
   automatically posts the negative goods receipt when performing step 4
   The quantity is then transferred to the transit stock.

In the standard it is not foreseen that the returns of cross-company
stock transport orders arrive a blocked returns stock. As you found,
in Note 430074, the relevant movement types for this process are 671,673
675 and 677. As indicated in the documentation you have, these movement
types transfer returns into unrestricted-use stock. Therefore, if you
wish to place these particular returns in blocked stock, you will need
to perform another movement from unrestricted-use stock once the return
has been received as such.
I am sorry I can not provide a more satisfactory solution.

Movement type from restricted to block

I have a scenario of Deadline Monitoring, in which one the material date get expired it went to restricted stock and from there directly to block stock..So which movement type should i used for such scenario.We used presently QA05 T-Code.

I assume that you have decided to go with the Z program suggested earlier.
Now You just want to make sure that records passed using this program are of QA07.
If TCODE2_MKPF is not available in MSEG, then i would go with reference to MKPF table.
First of all i shall get the list of restricted batches from MCHB (Or May be MCH1),
Then Pass Material, Plant, Batch and Movement type as 341 to MSEG,
And then i would pass outcome of this to table MKPF and check field TCODE2.
Dont forget that I am currently not able to check in my system whether system puts QA07 in TCODE2 field of MKPF at the time of 341 mvt (When it is restricted). Please confirm before proceeding.
moreover, i did not get about the effect your team is concerned about.
It will be good if you execute by yourself, means check these tables with right sequence and at the end you will be able to judge whether this logic gives you correct list of batches needs to be transferred to blocked.

671 - movement type - Error update control

Hi,
I have created ew movement type Z71 with reference to 671 movement type for return sto delivery.
We have removed the movement type category 01 from Z71 mvt type, due to this we are not able to do the PGR for return sto deliveries.
While doing PRG system showing error: Update control of movement type is incorrect (entry Z71 X X _ L ).
We have removed that mot.type category for the purpose of updating the RG23D register in Depot, it has been suggested by SAP only. But i don't know the link b/w update control and movement type category.
Please let me know if these is any config for movement type control related.

This is a bug in SAP
SAP has replied with Pilot note. They have given one pilot note to us.
We are going to implimenting in J1IG program for updating the RG23D register with reference to negative post goods issue(material document which is having 671 movement type).
The Pilot note number is 1300928. You can find more details in this note.
We will get back tou you after testing this note.

    While doing the stock Posting From quality to Unrest - Automatic 321 Movment type is happening
    But my client neads to identify how many qty from custmer return is passed to unrestricted from
    quality.
   i have problem in identify since 01 and 04 and also 05 all are having the same mvt since it is automatic
Can it be possible to chnage the mvt for the particular Inspection type 05.

No need of changing movement type for the same. You have too many options to get this fugure
You can use Tcode se16, se16n and in the table QALS you will be able to know the quantity posted to unrestricted by selecting 05 inspection and from to date in input for the table view
else go to the standard report . Tcode MCXC, MCXI you will get the report based on inspection type and period

Movement type 651(copy Z651) make it reduce consignment stock like 632 does

I copied movement type 651 to Z651 in order to have an inspection type attached.
Now it needs to post the consigment stock (special stock W) like movement type 632 does.
I cannot use 632 because it does not create an inspection lot.
How can I make my Z651 reduce the consignment stock?

Generally by using movement type 651, you post returns from a customer with a return delivery in Shipping to blocked stock returns. Special stocks are not possible for this movemnt type and the special stock for consignment is K. Hence Z651 will not fulfill your requirement. Please use 632 and create inspection lot manually using the T-code QA01.Thanking you.

Transfer Blocked stk to Quality stock & then post some quantity to sample

For one material, there is blocked stock. now user want , part of this stock to post to quality stock .
After the stock came to quality, they want to post some quantity to sample also. can anybody tell me

Hello,
To post the stock from block stock to quality stock you can use movement type 349
Go to MB1B.
Enter movement type as 349, plant as per your setting and storage location.
Now press enter and enter the material and save. This will move stock from block stock to quality inpscetion stock
Now to issue stock for sampling you have to use movement type 331 in T-code MB1B

321 is for transferring quality to unrestricted and
322 is reversal of 321
which means, unrestricted to quality.

How to set for movement type 601 or 641

For SAP standard, movement type 601 and 641 can post from restriced or block stock. In movement type setting, where can I set, then 601 or 641 can only post from unrestricted stock?

Hello Aries,
I checked the system & can tell you the following. Only the 601 can book from the restricted (blocked) stock. You can't enter the stock type in the delivery but starting with 470 there's a BAdI, LE_SHP_GOODSMOVEMENT. With this BAdI you can tell the system to post the goods issue from the blocked stock.
The mvt 641 is a different story: This movement type uses the quantity string MAU2. The quantity strings are defined in T156M. This string isn't able to post the GI from the restricted stock.

Where to configure which stock type to post in a movement type?

As we know , when we carry out a posting with a movement type, e.g. mvt. typ. 261, system will automatically post to unrestricted-use stock. And if mvt.typ. 331, system will post to QI stock.
I'd like to ask where to configure movement type to let it know which kind of stock type(not special stock, like E,K,etc.) to post.
i.e. if I create a new mvt. typ. , where can i set it to post to unrestricted-use , QI or Blocked stock?
I can find T156M-BUSTM and T156M-ZUSTD are relevant to stock type posting, but i don't know where to connect these fields to movement types.

Hi,
Normally there will be two types of moments available broadly.Material inflow and material outflow moments.During outflows we tell the system to take the stocks from which stock type and storage location and during inflows we tell to post to which stock type and sorage location.
The moment type 261 is a issue against an order and which has always to be from unrestricted .
and 331 is to issue towards stock to Quality inspection.
During inflows we can tell to the system through material master,vendor,or purchasing document to get posted to which stock.
For outflows system always takes from unrestricted and issues and if there is no stock in the storage location unrestricted , system provides a error message.
But however you can create a moment type at SPROMMIMMoment typescreate (OMJJ).

Movement type Question

Hi,
Right now we are using one Zxx movement type for Sales returns to Unrestricted stock
Requirement is to change the stock type for same Zxx movement type i.e Sales returns to Blocked stock instead of Unrestricted stock, as this movement type is used in many programs hence we want to use the same movement type but to change the above control for same.
Is there any way to achieve this.

Why can't you activate inspection type for customer returns in material master QM view ?
On post goods receipt(PGR),you will receipt stock in quality.
Based on quality decision,you can move stock to blocked.
For your case,Whether stock postings should be different from normal sales returns ?

First check ....when the stock is returned, what is the nature of stock ( unrestricted use/ Blocked stock/ Quality inspection).
Process this transction in MB1A and select appropriate movement type to scrap the material.

101 Goods receipt for purchase order or order
If the purchase order or order has not been assigned to an account, a stock type (unrestricted-use stock, stock in quality inspection, blocked stock) can be entered during goods receipt.
If the purchase order or order has been assigned to an account, the goods receipt is not posted to the warehouse, but to consumption.
In the case of non-valuated materials, the goods receipt is posted to the warehouse, although the purchase order has not been assigned to an account.
Possible special stock indicators:
     K Goods receipt for purchase order to consignment stock
     O Goods receipt for purchase order to stock of material provided to vendor
     E GR for purchase order or order to sales order stock
     Q GR for purchase order or order to project stock.
Goods receipt for
subcontract order: at goods receipt, the consumption of the components is posted at the same time (see movement type 543)

The corresponding special stock indicator is required for this movement.
If you do not use the special stock indicator, the system uses this movement type and movement type 311.
For sales order stock, you can change the material number for this movement if you manage the material in your company's own stock under a different material number (for example, for configurable materials).
Consignment stock is transferred to valuated stock, thus resulting in a vendor liability.
413 Transfer posting to sales order stock
You can use this movement type to carry out a transfer posting from your own unrestricted-use stock, other sales order stock, consignment stock, and project stock to a sales order stock.

Using movement type 441, you can make a transfer posting for an empties material from the stock type "unrestricted-use" to the stock type "tied empties". Movement type 442 reverses this transaction.
Example:
The full product "beer" has a stock of 15 cases. Part of the empties components "bottle" and "case" is tied empties stock.
