    I have moved my iTunes library to a new Windows 7 PC and cannot transfer music from the new iTunes PC to my iPhone 4S. The iPhone will only accept music transfers from the original iTunes PC. I have come to understand that an iPhone can have only one "daddy" iTunes PC, but have not been able to find out how to change the "daddy". I have done a backup of the iPhone, and a "Restore to Original Settings". Then I restored the content using the new iTunes PC. My Apps and contacts, etc. are back on the iPhone, but it still won't accept music from the new iTunes PC.

    What happens when you try to sync the iphone to the new computer?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
    (Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
    In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
    If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
    Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
    If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

    Any help how can this be done ?
    We have 1 Server and single Farm.
    I have build New 2008 R2 Server and planning to restore Backup taken from Old server to this new server. Will this work ?
    Which version of Sharepoint should i install on Windows 2008 R2 server , i run sharepoint.exe downloaded but it throws error

    Sorry for late reply.
    Your next step is, create a new web application and deattach the content DB from new web application. You need to attach existing CDB to that web app.
    Here is some links for your ref (unfortunately this is for 2010 but it same steps should work in WSS as well)

  • cfdocument and cfchart stopped working when moved to Windows 2003/IIS6

    We just moved our content to a new server: from Windows 2000 to Windows  2003 (IIS6).
    We are using Cold Fusion MX 7,0,2,142559.
    Everything works properly after the move except:
    1. <cfdocument> (any, the simpliest one) hangs producing error:"The  document has no pages. null "
    2. <cfchart> crashes producing error: "Invalid attribute: autoAdjust null"
    What can it be? Where should we look? Is it some Windows 2003  feature/problem/blockage? Or does it look like Cold Fusion was not  installed properly?
    Any Hot Fixes are required?
    Any ideas are welcome!!!

    I would avoid installing 7.0.1 hotfixes on an 7.0.2 installation.   The 7.0.2 release notes state that "It also includes all previous ColdFusion MX 7 hot fixes that have been released to date, eliminating the need to install multiple hot fixes and patches."

  • Moving printers to consolidate servers without interrupting users [Windows 2003 to 2003]

    Greetings!
    How do I go about moving network printers served from ServerA to ServerB, decommission/shutdown ServerA, and be completely transparent to users without causing them the need to remap printers?
    My company is still at Active Directory level Windows 2003 SP2, and has all of our printers on several Windows 2003 SP2 servers. I am in the midst to decommission several old servers and consolidate print servers and then upgrade the domain to Server 2012
    levels.
    Right now, a user may have a network printer setup so that it is listed as "Printer1 on ServerA"
    I want it so that when I move the printers to ServerB, users can still use their already setup "Printer1 on ServerA", instead of having to map them with "Printer1 on ServerB". Although, any new printers added from the consolidation point
    forward to a users PC would be "Printer1 on ServerB".
    My plan is to use my Windows 7 PC to:
    Use Print Management to migrate/export ServerA printers to a file.
    Use Print Management to migrate/import that ServerA printers file into ServerB. Using "Keep existing printers" in Import mode and "List All Printers" for List in the directory. [That would add ServerA's printers to
    ServerB while keeping ServerB's printers. But I'm a little unclear which option to use for List in the directory.]
    Shut down ServerA.
    In our AD DNS, delete ServerA's A record and then either (a) add an A record for ServerA using ServerB's IP address, or (b) add a CN record for ServerA to point to ServerB's FQDN. [I think (a) is the better option, right?]
    And then after the DNS refresh, the jobs should just come out of Printer1 on ServerA (as already listed/setup on my workstation) even though Printer1 now resides on ServerB.
    I tried that plan last night, and things just didn't quite work out. My workstation said Printer1 on ServerA was Offline and I couldn't print to Printer1 on ServerA (which was imported onto ServerB) even though my DNS had ServerA with ServerB's IP.
    For now I brought ServerA back online and people are working.
    What am I missing or should be doing differently? Any issue with local security that would prevent one server to not accept commands directed to another servername? Thanks for your input!
    Visual nutshell:
    Printer1/ServerA ---> shutdown ServerA ---> Printer1/ServerB while those with Printer1/ServerA definitions on their workstations would still print.

    When I last went from 2003 to 2008 R2, I did things a bit different.  I brought up the new server and migrated all printers.  I then had both servers running at the same time with the same configuration but all the clients
    were pointing to the old server.  To move the clients I deployed this vbs script to all users using group policy as a logon script:
    http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/20428e3a-12c6-4354-bddf-d748367fca72#content.  I left both servers running for some
    time until all users were redirected.  I frequently then checked the old servers event logs for any print jobs until I no longer saw any and then shutdown the old server.  Hope that makes sense.
    +1, I kinda do it that way too. (except I didnt know that script, as I used GPP to erase all printer connected & I was re-doing the printer connection after with GPP too)

  • Moving oracle 9i database from windows 2000 to windows 2003 server

    hi everybody,
    plz provide me a solution how to move oracle 9i database from windows 2000 server to windows 2003 server with step by step and also with commands plz as i am very new to oracle
    thanks in advance
    suresh

    Install 9i on windows 2003 server and patch to the same level as the Oracle on Windows 2k
    Shutdown and make a cold backup of your old database. That includes datafiles, controlfiles, redo files, init file (spfile)
    Copy and put these files to the exact same directory structure/location, for example if old file is under D:\oradata\mysid\ then the file on new file should be under same directory. (If you are using Network Storage that make things easier, just mapping to the same drive letter.)
    Also make sure archive log dest and all dump dest directories are created. You don't have to copy all old logs and dump files over.
    Use oradim to create a new service for the database instance
    http://www.psoug.org/reference/oradim.html
    Set proper ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID envionment varibles
    Run netca to configure listener, actually copy listener.ora and tnsnames.ora to $ORACLE_HOME\network\admin will do
    Try to start the database

  • TS130 (1105) Driver Error in Installing Acronis Backup of Windows 2003 R2

    I have run into a serires of errors which Lenovo support believes are related to the Intel Management Driver, but we have been unable to locate the appropriate drivers to deal with these error messages.  The errors I have received are as follows:
    PCI/VEN_8086DEV_1C02&SUBSYS_400017AA&REV_04 for Windows Server 2003 Standard
    PCI/VEN_8086DEV_1C26&SUBSYS_400017AA&REV_04 for Windows Server 2003 Standard
    PCI/VEN_8086DEV_1C2D&SUBSYS_400017AA&REV_04 for Windows Server 2003 Standard
    halmacpi.dll required to install ACPI MultiprocessorPC  (IDtandard computers) in Windows Server 2003 Standard
    Support has gone through the available drivers with me but we have not found a solution. Does anyone know what to download to deal with these issues--my Acronis backup of some critical software for my business will not run without these drivers installed.
    Thanks!

    You must not be familiar with Acronis software.
    Let me backup: I had previously purchased a Lenovo server in Dec. 2012 to rebuild my old windows 2003 OS system (a Dell).  We successfully moved all the data and set up the software programs on the original Lenovo server with the sole exception of a single SQl based software program that none of the IT experts I consulted with knew how to move.  I had called the company who owns the rights to that software program repeatedly in the last 1 1/2 years about the fact that my server was dying, they hadn't provided installation files, I needed to reinstall my license (which was still good) on the new server or I needed to buy a new license, they didn't return my calls.
    So, then I bought a second Lenovo server two weeks ago after the old Dell server died yet again (server board this time, Dell thinks) in order to restore this program.  Since I don't have installation files, and the company won't get back to me about selling me a new copy, the only way to restore the program is with Acronis, which I had used successfully in trial version for prior hardware failures of this server (this time I have the full version).  Acronis does a bare metal install of the entire image of the server; however, to use universal restore onto a new hardware system, you must have the proper drivers.  I keep getting errors that these three Intel drivers are missing.  So, tier one Lenovo support asked me to post to this board because they couldn't help.

  • On 6u13, new plug-in fails to load on Windows 2003 and IE7

    I'm attempting to load an applet in IE7 with an OBJECT tag in Windows 2003. This is a mature product that has, for this release, moved from 5 to 6. The CLSID was changed from the CAFEEFAC one for any version of 5 to the one for any version of 6. Java 5 version worked fine on Windows 2003. Now, on some, but not all, of our 2003 systems the ActiveX control for the new Java Plug-in fails to load.
    These configurations work:
    - Windows XP and any Java and any IE
    - Windows 2003 and Java5 and any IE
    - Windows 2003 and Java6, old plug-in, and any IE
    - Windows 2003 and Java6 and APPLET tag and any IE
    This one doesn't...on some machines:
    - Windows 2003 and Java6, new plug-in, IE7, OBJECT tag
    This is not a security problem. If I turn off the new style plug-in in the control panel, it works. However, I'd really like to avoid doing this, as the new plug-in has much needed features. Also, the APPLET tag works where the OBJECT tag doesn't. I can implement this change if needed, but it would be fairly painful and I'd prefer to avoid it.
    Does anyone know why this might be happening? Is there a good way for me to diagnose this? The browser is quite silent as to what the error might be.
    I appreciate any help. This one is truly vexing me!

    Okay, I'm wrong...I thought I could move to APPLET tags...I cannot. LiveConnect from JavaScript to Java does not support APPLET tags, only OBJECT tags. This makes my problem worse, as I don't have any recourse so far, except to disable the new plugin.
    However, this did lead to a clue: disabling the new plugin caused it to work again. When the new plugin was re-enabled to see it fail again, much to my surprise, it worked! Does anyone know what flipping that option actually does? Registry change or something else?

  • Cannot install Windows 2003 as paravirtualized VM

    Hello,
    I'm trying to install Windows 2003 as a paravirtualized VM but I get:
    Starting install...
    ERROR: Invalid NFS location given: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/lib/xen/xennfs.0J0NeF/images/xen/vmlinuz'
    Before doing this I installed a CentOS paravirtualized VM without problems. I'm doing the same but changing the CentOS ISO for the Windows ISO. I've read some threads about this and the answer was that Windows cannot be installed as a paravirtualized VM. But these threads were old (1 o 2 years) and I think that now it's possible to install Windows as a PVM.
    Please, can anybody help me??
    Thanks.

    Let me explain...
    There are two Pools: One ( A ) that can execute guests in HVM and the other ( B ) that only can execute guests in PVM. I have moved some Linux VM from A to B without problems (well, I had some problems but I solved it easily). But by now is imposible to do the same with Windows VM.
    I created the Windows VM in the A pool as HVM and installed the PV drivers. Atfer doing it the VM config file content is:
    acpi = 1
    apic = 1
    bootloader = '/usr/bin/pygrub'
    builder = 'hvm'
    device_model = '/usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm'
    disk = ['file:/var/ovs/mount/501740958A2C4EFC9482E5F3A1E6F282/running_pool/Chronos2/System.img,hda,w',
    +',hdc:cdrom,r',+
    +]+
    kernel = '/usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader'
    keymap = 'es'
    memory = '2048'
    name = 'Chronos2'
    on_crash = 'restart'
    on_reboot = 'restart'
    pae = 1
    serial = 'pty'
    timer_mode = '0'
    usbdevice = 'tablet'
    uuid = '20bb90fb-a8e1-4dfb-a1d1-450e669dd9eb'
    vcpus = 2
    vif = ['bridge=xenbr0,mac=00:16:3E:**:**:**,type=netfront']
    vif_other_config = []
    vnc = 1
    vncconsole = 1
    vnclisten = '0.0.0.0'
    vncpasswd = '******'
    vncunused = 1
    If I try to run it in A the VM runs as HVM. If I change builder = 'hvm' to builder = 'pvm' and try to run in A I get:
    Error: Boot loader didn't return any data!
    If I try to run it in B (moving the VM previously and changing the disk location in the config file) I get :
    Error: HVM guest support is unavailable: is VT/AMD-V supported by your CPU and enabled in your BIOS?
    And if I try to run it in B changing builder = 'hvm' to builder = 'pvm' then I get:
    Error: Acquire running lock failed: 256
    Well, and now I don't know what else can I do.
    Have anybody installed a Windows VM as PV (using PV drivers) in Oracle VM successfully?
    Thank you.

  • Restore Exchange 2007 SP3 to Windows 2008 R2 from Windows 2003

    Perhaps I'm being dense, but I had Exchange 2007 SP3 installed on a Windows 2003 Server, and I've used "setup /mode:recoverserver" to restore it to a Windows 2008 R2 server... how do I restore the databases which I backed up with the Windows backup tool
    on 2003?
    I installed KB974674, the restore tool onto the 2008 R2 server but when I try and restore the backup it comes up with "this feature is no longer supported".  Something I'm missing here?

    These things marked as answers are not answers.
    I have now thoroughly tested using setup /mode:recoverserver and it works fine going from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2 with Exchange 2007 SP3, done several installations now without a problem.
    "Setup /m:RecoverServer cannot be used across operating systems. A server that was originally running Windows Server 2003 can be recovered only on Windows Server 2003, and a server that was originally running Windows Server 2008 can
    be recovered only on Windows Server 2008."
    This appears to be wrong, unless someone can tell me why it's right (I haven't tried moving Unified Messaging yet).  I've done it to 2008 R2 several times now and also in the other direction, from 2008 R2 to 2003, I can't find anything that didn't work
    afterward, although I haven't really thoroughly tested OWA yet, I admit (but it does appear to be working).
    I think that documentation is out-of-date as it doesn't mention R2 plus I think it was written before SP3 came out and that paragraph is just wrong.
    Basically how I do it is like this:
    Dismount databases from the 2003 server and copy the storage group folders to a network location or removable media.
    Install the Windows 2008 R2 server using the same machine account that was being used by the 2003 server.  Install the prerequisites needed for Exchange 2007 SP3 installation on 2008 R2 (note in addition to the IIS components and RPC over HTTP this
    also requires the AD tools in RSAT, which I haven't found mentioned in technical documentation).  Install the relevant windows updates.
    Install Exchange 2007 SP3 using setup /mode:recoverserver  Install the update rollup.
    Copy the storage groups into the relevant folders on the new server and mount them.  Migrate any relevant certificates (e.g. for ActiveSync).
    Obviously then check it all over with the diagnostic tools and check it with EXBPA.  The backups are obviously totally different, but really I think you should be using DPM anyway.
    To me that was pretty easy to do, to be honest.  About 1.5 on a scale of one to ten.  Basically install it, recover it, copy over some files and mount them.
    Seriously on a halfway decent server I've done it in under an hour.

  • Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 on Windows 2003 AS

    I have moved jobs and inherited the following database:
    Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 EE on Windows 2003 AS EE.
    There seem to be a number of issues on the server.
    ORA-27300: Message 27300 not found. No message file for Product=RDBMS
    ORA-12518: Listener could not hand off client connection
    ORA-4030: signaled during : Create Bigfile tablespace....
    As stated, the database is on Windows 2003 AS EE with 10Gb of Ram with PAE switch in the boot.ini.
    SGA_target =1200M
    PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET=399M
    Processes=2000
    Dedicated connection.
    After spotting these issues in the alert log, my first advice was upgrade to the latest patch set, because the memory settings appear to be fine & it's obviously good practice to be on the latest patch set. Has anyone had these issues before?
    I suppose what I am asking is would you...
    a: Log an SR? (I imagine I will be asked to patch)
    b: Assume that I have hit some bug and patch to the latest release?
    c: Try increasing the PGA_AGGREGATE TARGET and letting system set the pagefile size automatically?
    Many thanks for your help,
    Regards
    User629216

    a: Log an SR? (I imagine I will be asked to patch)When you are in doubt and not knowing where to start, contact Oracle support is logical choice. And following their advice is also logical choice.
    b: Assume that I have hit some bug and patch to the
    latest release?Since you are running maiden version of major release, apply patch is advised.
    c: Try increasing the PGA_AGGREGATE TARGET and
    letting system set the pagefile size automatically?
    At this point it's hard to tell the problem anywhere related to pga_aggregate_target setting.
    You should look into the errors you had,
    ORA-27300: Message 27300 not found. No message file for Product=RDBMSthe actual error message is
    ORA-27300: OS system dependent operation:string

  • Windows 2003 R2 Gray Screen Hang on HP DL380 G5 when restarting or shutdown after Nov/Dec 2011 Windows Update

    I’ve 4 identical HP DL 380 G5 Servers with Windows 2003 R2 Std.  The 4 machines have the same Windows driver version and motherboard BIOS version.  2 have no problem.  2 have problems after Nov/Dec 2011 Windows Update!
    After running for a few days from power-up, the 2 problem servers will hang at gray screen during restart.  After clicking for restart,
    - The Event Log service will stop normally so there is no more error log can be seen!
    - The IP ping to the server can still work.  The mouse pointer in Windows can still be moved.
    - The Windows shutdown gray screen can be shown.
    - [Ctrl-Alt-Del] has stopped to function.
    Then the system just freezes at that status.  I can only cold-boot the system!
    After power-up again, I can do the Windows restart / shutdown normally!  But after a few day of running, the above symptom repeats!  The symptom happened since I installed the Windows Update in Dec 2011.  It didn’t happen before that!
    Anyone can give a hint on how to diagnose it?

    Hi,
    In order to troubleshoot the server hang issue, you can first preform a clean boot on the problematic system.
    Steps:
    ====================
     1. Click Start->Run…->type
    msconfig and press Enter
    2. Click Services tab and select Hide All Microsoft Services
    and Disable All third party Services
    3. Click Startup tab and Disable All startup items
    4. Click OK and choose Restart
    5. After reboot, check whether the problem still occurs
    If the server hang on issue still continues in clean boot mode, for the further troubleshooting, you may check in the Task Manager to see which process takes the memory resources.
    Meanwhile, you can also use reliability and performance Monitor to track down what cause the performance issue.

  • Has anyone managed to get a 3TB dynamic disk on Windows 2003 Server?

    I just got a pair of new 3TB disks that I wanted to put on my Windows 2003 server enterprise x64 system, SP2, all updates installed.
    When I first tried to convert to dynamic, I got the error "The operation did not complete" as described in this KB article
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826823
    It says there is a patch, but there is not one for x64, just x86 and ia64
    I found another technet discussion here:  https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverfiles/thread/cb62238c-b3d0-4989-b45a-ae6de6701a7b?stoAI=10
    However its best suggestion is to use a product from AOMIE, but I tried that and it didn't even recognize the disk.  It also suggests that one needs a better version of diskpart.exe and to try to the 32 bit version.  Anyone have any experience
    with that?
    I also tried creating moving the disk to Windows 7 x64, making it dynamic there, but when I move the disk back to 2K3 it does not recognize it, and goes back to a 2TB partition.  I also saw something about needing a 512 block size for 2K3, but W7 does
    not allow anything smaller than 1K.

    Hi,
    During my research, if found the following artcle which also mentioned a 3TB disk should be supported in Windows 2003 SP1:
    Has anyone managed to get a 3TB dynamic disk on Windows 2003 Server?
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverfiles/thread/a720ae72-0c04-44dd-94c0-2e6aecce530e
    So I contact the author about this issue. He said it could be caused if your hard disk is a 512e drive as the 3TB drives on the market today are normally 512e drives.
    However manufacturers stopping identifying this, and if the controller is old, FSUtil will not able to identify a 512 drive but recognized it as a normal 512n drive.
    Thus please provide the drive model so we could search on manufacturer's website for exact information.
    Also please paste the screenshot in your reply which Satish mentioned if available.
    In addition, here is an article Robert provided:
