Moving into a rental property

Hi all,
I'm moving out of my family home into a rental flat with my partner at the end of this month.
I'm looking to get a NEW bt infinity connection organised for the day we move in (or the day after at the latest). Ive already checked availability, and that shouldn't be a problem.
I can't seem to find any guidance relating to this type of situation.
If anyone has advice or has dealt with something similar i would really appreciate some help.
Thanks,
David.

I am trying to set up my apple tv on a sony KDL - 40xbr4. The remote is a sony RM-V302. I plugged it into the HDMI IN on the side of the TV but cannot find out how to get to that input. I am at a winter rental property and brought my Apple TV with me. I did check internet for solutions. The instructions I found said to use a "home button" on the remote.  There isn't one. I sure would appreciate help if someone knows a solution.  My first post - hope I did this right.

if its anything like my Sony, theres a button top left corner that upon each press i get an audible bleep and the AV inputs come up on screen, i then cycle down to whichever input i wish to select!
in case your remote is different, the button on my remote has a square with a slightly smaller square just overlapping the first square.
    hope that helps?

  • Moved into new flat - How do i find out what the t...

I've just moved into a leased flat as a tenant and there is a BT box on the wall.
I'm looking to setup broadband etc but all providers require the telephone number at the property.  Is there any way to find this out?
I don't have a phone plugged in atthe moment so i'm assuming no dial tone etc.

Don`t assume there is no dial-tone, as quite often the line is simply "stopped".
Plug a phone in, and if there is dial tone, then dial 1470 17070.
If you are lucky it will give you the number.
You may however wish to ask for a different number, just in case the previous tenant, had problems.
If its not a BT line, you may get a different message.

  • Moving into a new place

    Hi,
My friend and I are moving into a new flat and are attempting to get our utilities set up before we move in. How do I go about finding out if we have a Bt landline when I cannot get access to the property and do not have a known phone number for the premesis.
If there is no way to do that could you please tell me the conventional method of finding out so I can tell my letting agency as they do not seem to know ( appauling isn't it).
    Any help is appreciated,
    Cheers.

    Hi Tomkix,
I can check the address details for you to see if there is an active line. Please could you drop an email, to the email address found in my profile? Please make sure to include the address details and a link to this thread.

  • Moved into house with bt line, Previous owners ter...

Hi, I own my house and have just moved in. It would seem that the previous owner terminated his contract with BT 3 days after moving out of the property! This cancelled our request with Orange to adopt the line but it goes in the system and you only find out that our request is cancelled after 10 days. So now it is the 12th of November and we want a line with Orange Why do I have to wait for BT to have a month of bogus cancellation of that line when I own the property and would never use BT since I was stung as a student some 18 years ago. What have the previous owners got to do with me? Surely BT you have nothing to do with and should just give up blocking my line?
Why penalise me I didnt enter into a contract with you.
Maybe someone can reply as to whether this is the same for other phone companies that you have to wait 28 days blah de blah to get your own line available. Can someone confirm that this is normal procedure for all phone companies or are BT trying to force themselves onto me?
Wow -35 day wait for phone line another 10 days for broadband . Its just as well I dont run a business, oh I forgot yes I do.
    Many thanks for any responses.
I may sound Irrate but it is only the library atmosphere seeping through into this email.

Hi it is a standard practice to have a cancellation period really it is the fault of the previous owners as they should have given BT notice a month ago not 3 days before they left as technically the line is still there's until the notice period expires There is nothing any one here can do to help you speed up the process as you are not a BT customer

  • Moved into new flat

I've recently moved into a new flat. The previous tenants were with BT and as far as I can tell, they moved out fairly recently. I've attached a landline phone and there's still a dialtone, but I can't make outside calls. I want to take over the phoneline and had hoped that it would be quite a simple process, but this doesn't seem to be the case!
-The first person I called said I needed a completely new phone line installed and it would cost me £170 (unless I took a broadband deal and an 18-month contract, neither of which I'm that eager to do).
-The second person I called said they can reactivate the phone line, but that this would require an engineer visit, and it would cost me £30. I made it clear at the beginning of the call that as I'm working full-time and living alone, I could only really have a visit at the weekend. We went through the very lengthy process of making the order, then after I'd given my bank details, he mentioned that there were no weekend slots available at all, ever. I asked if the engineer would certainly need access to my property, because I'd read on the website that this is something that's not automatically required, especially if there's no damage to the line and there's a dialtone. He couldn't really give me an answer on that, and said there's no guarantee that he won't need access to the property.
All a bit of a mess really! I basically only want broadband, I'm not too fussed about a landline. I'm quite confused about the whole thing too, as it seems that the account was stopped but the phone line has not yet been deactivated. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? Preferably something not involving engineer visits, as I'm not keen on taking time off during the week!

If they were with BT, then line activation normally is done via software, and no visit is needed.
You can find out the number by dialling 1470 17070. If its a BT number then a voice will read it out to you.
You can tell BT the number, and they should be able to activate it for you, once credit checks have been done.
They may have had a BT line, but paying another provider for their calls. If that is the case, then it may take a bit longer.

I have signed out then back into the cloud.  I have comfirmed location of the photostream folder.  I have have even restored settings on my phone.  any ideas on what I can do to get it working again?  or do I have to accept defect, and manually save my photos?

There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:

    Hi,

  • How to know data in data moved into GL

    Hi All,
I have doubt could you clarify it. How can we know that data available in AP and AR is moved into into GL. If Gl_interface is going to act here. How does Gl_interface identify the data. Can you explain me.
    Thanks & Regards,
    pallis

    Hi Pallis,
the flow of data is like this .....
Step 1 - Recording of Transaction in AR or AP ...
System Action - Transaction details are recorded in base tables of specific modules, i.e. for Payables it would get stored in AP related tables and for Receivables it would get stored in AR or RA tables ....
Step 2 - Transaction recorded in AR or AP is accounted ..
System Action - When you run the concurrent process of Create accounting from AP or AR, system creates accounting entries for the transactions and these are stored in XLA tables and not in AP or AR tables ....
Step 3 - Entries transferred to General Ledger ..
System Action - One should always remember that ONLY ACCOUNTING ENTRIES are transferred from subledger modules such as AP or AR to the GL and not the transaction related information. Hence, the accounting entries that are generated and stored in XLA tables are not transferred to General Ledger by running the concurrent program Transfer entries to General LEdger ...
When this operation is carried out, system updates a column in XLA table to mark the entries that are transferred to GL, in order to prevent the duplication ....
So to answer your question ...
    1) So when ever data loads into AP and AR tables simultaneously the data is moved even into XLA tables
==> NO, moving the transaction data does not really update XLA tables, these are generated by system automatically and cannot be migrated manually ... this would be generated by running the Create Accounting concurrent program from respective module ...
    2) Is there any column to map with ap and ar tables so that record 1 is from ap and record 2 from ar
===> Most of the XLA tables would have a column called Application_Id, this refers to the module from which this accounting entries are generated ... for Payables the application id is 200 and for receivables it is 222 ... these values are system defined hence same for all environments across the globe ...
    3) In GL responsibility I find sources where we select the list of sources and run the import and how can we import 3rd party source journals in Import journals
==> If you are importing the entries from standard oracle module such as Payables, Receivables and Assets the source name would be available in the List of values by default, however if you are importing from 3rd party system then you have to define a 3rd party software as a custom source .. only then it would appear in the journal import stage ....
Third party tool should have created the accounting entries by itself, and only send the accounting data to Oracle General Ledger and not the transaction related information ..... if Oracle is expected to create accounting entries for transactions recorded in 3rd party systems, you have to configure FAH as well .....

  • Newbie to numbers, does anyone have a simple template  for rental property?

I am new to numbers, I need a simple program or template to track income and expenses for a rental property that I just purchased.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    John

    John,
You may search the web to find a ready made template but this is really a do-it-yourself type of situation that you tailor to meet your needs. Not being a landlord, I can only guess as to how i would set this up. And after using it for awhile I'm sure that modifications would be required to meet situations I had not expected.
At any rate, perhaps the simple example below will get you thinking. All the formulas are simple addition/subtraction or SUM() situations so I've not listed them. If you need help however, feel free to ask.

  • Moving into temp house 2 mths,it has bt,can i shar...

I am moving into my Dads house for one or two months untill i find a new place. I am still under contract with BT and have bt broadband too. It will cost me £150 to get out of my contract, then when i find a new place it will cost me £130 approx to get bt back. Just for the sake of 2 months is there a way I can transfer my bt phone and broadband to my Dads address without disrupting his bt phone and broadband?? I dont necessarily want to use my phoneline or broadband, i just want somewhere to `store` it for want of a better word at little cost. I have heard of something called `Call sSgn` where the you can have 2 lines on one socket and the ring tone is different depending whose number is called, but what about broadband on this setup? Or does anyone have any other ideas? I hope someone can help save me almost £300.

If it would cost £150 to cancel, then it would actually be cheaper to order a new line at your father's address, and transfer to that - the fee for a new line is normally only £130.
Whether or not you have to pay £130 at the new address in 2 months depends on whether or not it already has a working phone line.  If the line is connected, there's no charge to take it over.

If the app is designed correctly, the no, you won't. However, you'd have to ask the people who wrote the software, Adobe.

  • Moving home but not moving into house straight awa...

     Hi
I am moving out of rented accommodation soon and will not be moving into my new house straight away. I currently have a phone/broadband/vision package that has been running for 6 months. I can't find any paperwork from BT to say how long my contracts are set for. My question is can I cancel the services at my old address and then wait a month or so before having them put on at my new address (while still paying)? (although I would like to cancel Vision as we have not watched it for 4 months). If not I am going to have to cancel all the services and I would not like to know how much that will be.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
      Cheers
