Moving iPad notes from one account to another

My iPad default setting chose my work email account for the default to store my notes.  My iPad is personal and found the settings to change the default to iCloud.  However, I have several dozen notes that now reside in my corporate account.  I could not find a way to forward and store them in my personal account.  How can I move them?  I do not want to delete them, but have them reside in my @me.com email or in the cloud.  THANKS!

I don't know how to do this on the ipad, found your post looking for an answer. However, got a new mac and am trying to learn how notes, calendar and mail are all connected and synced. I think a lot of people use the sync, but don't understand it.
Anyway, if you open notes on the computer you can select (command+click) and drag to the new location when showing the accounts associated with notes. It takes a little while to sync completely (try making a new folder with an unusual name on the computer, and you will see it appear on the ipad and vise versa). It seems to take longer with the moving of notes. I have 50-60 notes made on the ipad, and it took a bit longer off not-fast satelite wifi internet.
hope this helps.

  • How do I move Notes from one account to another?

When I upgraded to Lion and ios5, all my Notes were on my Mac, iPhone and iPad, having been synched via USB and iTunes in the past. Some of these notes have been around for quite a while.
Later, I edited a few notes and became aware that the chnages have not been synched to other devices. It turns out that somehow I have two acconts for notes on my ios devices - they are
From My Mac - all the rest
    ICloud - 2 notes
It seems that changes I make to notes that are in the From My Mac account do not get synched to the Mac or my other device. How can I change the account for those in the From My Mac account to the iCloudl account?

Only notes in the iCloud account will sync with iCloud.  In order to move notes from other accounts you have to open each one, copy/paste the test into new notes created in the iCloud account, then delete the original in the other account.

  • Help with Moving Entire Library from one account to another - Same computer

    Thanks

    Hi JS,
I'm assuming that you simply want to move all of your music from one library to the other and operate iTunes ONLY from THAT library. If this is the case then follow these steps..
    1. Make sure that you place your iTunes Library to be copied into a location where you can access it while logged in from the OTHER account. The only two options you have are the "Public Folder" ~Users/YourUsername/Public or the "Shared Folder" ~Users/Shared. These are the only two folders where you have access when logged into another account.
To do this open iTunes and go to preferences, selecting the "Advanced" tab and then the "General" tab. You will see the location of your iTunes Music folder and next to it a "Change" Button. Select the change button and a window will appear where you can choose to navigate to the desired NEW location for your Music Library. Once you have navigated to either the "Public Folder" or the "Shared Folder, select "Choose" and your library will be moved to the new location. Before you close the preference window make sure you have "Copy Files to iTunes music Folder when adding to Library" and "Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized" both CHECKED. Now close that window.
    2. Go to the iTunes menu again, this time under the FILE menu, there you will see the option to "Export Library." Click this option and a window will appear with a "Library XML" file highlighted at the top of the window. Change the name if you like or leave it as it is, but make sure you leave the xml at the end. Save this document to your Hard Drive. ( Click on your Hard Drive in the window and save the document there)
    3. Log out of this account and into your second account.
    4. Open itunes and go the Preferences in the menu bar. Again select the "Advanced" tab, and then the "General" Tab. Make sure that the same two boxes are checked. "Add Files to itunes Folder" and "Keep iTunes Folder Organized" Select OK and close the window.
    5. Now go the File Menu in iTunes and "Add to Library." In the pop-up window navigate to the Location of your first account (either your Public or Shared Folder) and select "Open." This will add all of your music from the original account.
    6. Now go back to the iTunes File menu and select the "Import" option. Navigate to the location of the xml file you saved inside your Hard Drive, select it and choose "Open". This will transfer all of your playlists and restore your iTunes library to its exact same state as the first account...
It took a little while, but that's IT. Now if you no longer desire to use the original iTunes library, just log back into your first account and drag the iTunes Music folder in your "Public" or "Shared" Folder to the trash and delete it. Your new library already holds copies of those files so you won't lose anything.
Hope this helps you achieve what you desire..
    Regards,
    Ben.

  • Moving mail messages from one account to another sends to inbox, not IMAP folder

I have many email addresses (setup via Google apps) but I generally store all of my emails on one standard Gmail IMAP account. It makes looking for old emails easier IMO. Here's what my workflow should look like:
I get an email on account B, reply with account B, then file that email into account B's folder on account A.
Unfortunately, that workflow has been broken for a very long time now and 10.8.3 didn't fix it.
Here's what that workflow actually does:
I get an email on account B, reply with account B, then file that email into account B's folder on account A, the email ends up in the inbox of account A, I then have to drag the email into account B's folder on account A *again* so it actually sticks.  The tricky part is that Mail seems to have the message in two locations until I
Instead of moving the email directly to account B's folder on account A, it goes to the inbox of account A. I'm really tired of having to move a message twice just to get it into the right folder. I was hoping 10.8.3 would fix this but it's still broken. I believe I started noticing the issue in Lion.
I only use Gmail IMAP accounts if that helps. I've re-installed from scratch to eliminate any user account / upgrade issues that could've caused the problem.
I would really appreciate any suggestions or confirmation of the problem from other people so I can file another bug report (did that already but they never understood the issue).

    Hi,
Locate your Mail folder via this path - Home/Library/Mail and copy it to the same location on the second machine - when you get the message about overwriting say yes. (make sure Mail is not open on either machine)
I f you're nervous about overwriting the corrupted copy - simply move it out of Home/Library first - say to the desktop. When you copy the new Mail folder over, and you know it works - delete the desktop copy.

  • Moving music library from one account to another

Quick Question....my wife put a bunch of music on our I mac but on my account. I would prefer to keep her stuff separate like music and pics. Does anyone know if you can simply transfer the libraries music and pictures that she has put under my account to her user name

Are you referring to a Mac OS X user account, or an iTunes Store account? If you're referring to an iTunes Store account, there's no way to transfer a purchase from one iTunes Store account to another. If you're referring to a Mac OS X user account, though (presuming that you each have your own separate iTunes libraries), just copy the music from your OSX user account to hers. You can do this in several ways, but the easiest is probably to just drag the music files to the Users -> Shared folder (you can drag them right from the iTunes window), then log into her user account and drag the files into the iTunes window. Once you're certain that the tracks have copied successfully and play in iTunes, you can then delete them from your iTunes library.
    Regards.

  • How do i transfer notes from one account to another

I have NOTES composed in my "On My iPhone".  Since I've bought an iPad, I want to copy the notes on my iPhone from "On My iPhone" to my "iCloud" account.  How do I do that?  Or, can I?

If you have set up Notes to sync up to your iCloud email account, there should be a copy of each in there. So check there first to ensure such a copy exists. Then you can turn Notes off in GMail. All on Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars / Accounts.
Anyway, to be on the safe side, "save" your important ones by mailing them to some backup account. That's what the icon with a little arrow flying out the top is for (iOS 7).

  • Error when moving multiple emails from one account to another

I have an IMAP account for one of my emails. I have recently changed web hosting and so changed this to a POP account. I don't want to lose all my emails, which is what happened to another one of my accounts when the web hosting was changed. So have opened a new account on mail which is the POP one. I want move all my emails from the IMAP to the POP. I selected all and clicked move but only half went over, now everytime I try to do the remainder I get an error message just literally saying 'There was an error when trying to move 431 emails across' Or something like that. Why is this happening and is there another way of doing it? It's justw eird that half of them moved fine and the rest stayed.

Try Mail/Mailbox/Export Mailbox which will move the mailbox to your desktop. Then Mail/File/Import Mailbox which will put the e-mails in an Import Folder in On My Mac. That will save the e-mails for you.

  • Moving purchased music from one account to another account

So I just purchased my first macbook. I am trying to figure out my next step in transfering my music. I am not worried about most of the music I want to transfer, as I can easily move it via thumb drive. My question pertains the purchased music specifically. I do not want to keep the same itunes account id as when I purchased the songs initially. (I was 15, long time ago. I would like to start fresh.) There aren't many songs that I purchased, and I probably won't want all moved, but I do not want to repurchase the songs again.
Is there any way I can get those songs onto my new mac, from my old and dying dell, without having to authorize use of a computer by an old account?
Would simply transfering via thumb drive work, or is there any other way I can go about doing this without losing about 100 or so songs that I spent money on?
I really do not want to keep the old itunes account id (I don't even have access to that email anymore), and have made a new one already.
Thank you to all in advance.

Do you want duplicated copies in both accounts? (that would be a terrible waste of space). The best way to avoid that would be to move your iTunes Music folder to the Shared folder on your Mac (Users/Shared). Then change your iTunes Preferences to point iTunes at this new location.
The other account should launch iTunes, then do the same thing.
You will now have a situation where the two accounts have separate iTunes Library database files (for playlists etc), but are using the same music folder. It is likely that only the original account will have read/write privileges to the actual music however.

  • How to move contacts from one account to another

I have 2 exchange accounts configured in my iPhone, one Corp exchange account and one personal exchange account, both have Contacts sync enabled.
I noticed somehow all of new created Contacts are under Corp account, these Contacts do not show up on my iPad / Mac which only have personal account.
How can I move the selected Contacts from Corp account to personal account?
How can I choose which account to use when I create a new Contact?
    Thanks

I can answer your second question but I share your problem related to the first question.
In answer to your second question:
To make sure that new contacts go into the desired account:
    1.     Go to Settings
    2.     Select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
    3.     Scroll down to "Contacts"
    4.     Select the last item in the group, "Default Account"
    5.     A list of the accounts on your iPad will appear.  Select the account that you want to use for your new contacts.
If you solve the problem of moving existing contacts from one account to another, I'd love to hear about it.

How do I transfer an Itunes gift card from one account to another ? I do not remember my password or know my security questions.

You can't do it yourself. If you've just redeemed it and not spent any of it then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can move it the other account : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • HT204053 How can I transfer my apps from one account to another

How can I transfer my apps from one account to another

Apple will not permit transfer of applications from one account to another. Suppose your mom has presented an iPad to you and before presenting she has downloaded some Apps with her account. If you want to update those Apps, you must know her pass word or send the iPad to her and request her to update and give back. If you feel it is time consuming and difficult, the best way is purchase new iPad and down load  the latest version of App. Whenever you come across you go on purchasing new iPad. This will help you to have latest version of iPad with you.

  • Transferring email addresses from one account to another

I'm not sure if this is a good place to post this but after spending a good bit of time on the phone with FiOS customer service and technical support I just feel like venting my frustrations and hope that maybe someone could give me a valid explanation of why this cannot be done.
To give a brief (hopefully) summary of what's going on...
My wife and I are currently in the process of moving from Florida to Maryland because of the current job market and economy situation.  As always...the moving process has been a "blast".  For at least a few months we will be "between" homes and will be staying with friends.  Because of this we had to cancel our FiOS service (which I did last week and it will be shutting off sometime today).  Since we've been very please with the actual service FiOS provides we have (or maybe I should say "had") every intention of signing back up with Verizon once we're in a new home in the Maryland area.
So here's where the trouble comes into play...I contacted Verizon to see if it would be possible to somehow transfer our existing Verizon.net email addresses from our account to my friend's account (the person I'm staying with).  You would've thought I was asking for a year's worth fo free service.  Initially I was told by customer service that this can't be done.  They explained that an email address is like a phone number and two separate accounts cannot have the same email address.  Thanks for the newsflash!  I explained again that what I wanted to do was move my email addresses so they would now be associated with my friends account.  This didn't seem like such a horrible request considering my friend pays for FiOS service and with that gets 9 available email addresses....and was only using 2 of them.  She ultimately just told me it was something that couldn't be done.  But she did inform me of the "Verizon Your Domain" service that would allow current FiOS subscribers to associate their Verizon.net email account with a new domain name that you create.  It would cost $20 per year and would allow you to keep your Verizon.net email if you canceled FiOS service.  This sounded like an ok option.
But still -- I was curious why I couldn't transfer email addresses.  So I then contacted technical support.  This time it was explained to me that an email address was like a social security #.  It couldn't just be given to another person.  Great analogies in use at Verizon....I give them that.  I told the guy I was a fellow "techie" and asked him for a more detailed explanation.  That's when it got good.  That's what killed me.  He spent all this time talking about ACL's and routing and how email addresses couldn't be moved because "you're talking about 2 million addresses".  Long and short he was trying to say the Verizon email system was just too complex.  Finally I told him that it had to be something that could be done....and his exact words were "well sure it can be done...but we're not going to do it if you're not paying for a service".  Wow!  Great response!  I've been a paying customer of FiOS for about two years.  I've had some form of service with Verizon for about 15 years (from phone service to mobile service with V-Wireless).  I fully understand that I'm no longer paying for FiOS service.  But my friend is.  And he has 7 email accounts he's not using.  So why couldn't they be moved?  Because the system is too complex?  Give me a break.  Like this guy finally admitted...it boils down to money.
Finally I gave up.  I told my wife that we'd just have to deal with switching to a new email address.  Life will move on.  She wanted to try the "Verizon Your Domain" option though.  She started doing the process online...had some questions....and decided to call customer service.  She got transferred around to three different people...the last of which told her "you need to call a different department" and then CLICK.
Great, great job Verizon.  All I ask is if someone could give me some sort of response that makes sense.  If you just don't want to offer the transfer option then tell me.
I expect to be in a new home within a month or two.  And suddenly Comcast is looking very good.

Well, CS was right when they said that Verizon cannot transfer your email to another account. In order to do that they would have to overwrite the email of your friend ( I dont think your friend would apreciate that ). This is due to a limitation on the email system.
However, you may have another option. If you are going to be getting Verizon service again in the realitivly near future (4-8 weeks or so), Then after your acount is closed, contact tech support. If you get the right agent they will "enable" your email. That way you can continue to use it even though you dont have service any more. Now they cant do this for long but for temporary it can be done. Then once you get your service back, they can then move your existing email to your new account. (this can now be done as they will overwrite your new email with your old).
Now if your going to be without Verizon service for more than a couple months, you may be out of luck but this is one option
    umm, oh bhoy!
In fact, a "repoint" of an email address CAN be completed onto another account AND it does not overwrite anything on the receiving account.    Each acount, whether its a FiOS account or a copper account, has an account number.   The email address is assigned to the account number.    The email address can be "repointed" from one account to another, as an 'add-on' to the new account, then it can be 'repointed' back to another account later.    HOWEVER, the contract does say that you must have a valid account.  AND, Verizon cannot (no company can) allow you to manipulate someone else's account.
as to the "after your acount is closed, contact tech support. If you get the right agent they will "enable" your email", well, the fact is that the account has to be provisioned to an address.   So, though I have come accross accounts that seemed to still be "on" after the listed close date, it was not something that verizon's tier 1 tech support can effect (that's who you get on the phone when you call tech support) (note that 'sales' could not do this for you, either)   So good luck with that.
What happens is that Verizon will not allow anyone to take your email addresses for at least 6 months.
Before you cancelled you may have had an option to have a notice auto-replied to any email that gets sent to your email address, for a limited amount of time, like they can do with a telephone number ("this number has been changed to . . . . . ")  that "this email address is temporarily suspended, or something. . . . I said MAY have had the opportunity. .. .   but if it was me, I would get to where you are going and make sure they have Verizon internet account already   and have them call verizon tech support (so they can verify their account info)  with you standing there so that you can verify your old account info and immediately and plainly ask if you can have an email "repoint" done for you.
