Moving Net Income to Balance Sheet with Business Rule

Hello,
The system is BPC 7.0 SP3, on SQL 2008
I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue.  I created a business rule that moves Net Income Year to Date to the Balance Sheet, and call it through logic.
The problem I am having is that all periods are calculating correctly except for Period 12.  The same number that is calculate for Period 11 is posted to Period 12.
The Time Dimension looks correct with it's prior and current and next properties.
Here is the Business Rule setup, all entries you do not see are NULL
Transformation Group        Source         Source DataSRC     Destination Account   Destination DataSRC
CEYTD                                NetIncome     TOTALADJ             29210                          Input
Reverse Sign                      YTD        Remark
False                                    True        CEYTD
Here is the logic I use to call the stored procedure.
*RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=SPRUNCALCACCOUNT([%App%], [Actual], [USD], [%SCOPETABLE%], [%LOGTABLE%], [CEYTD], [99])
*COMMIT
*RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=SPRUNCALCACCOUNT([%App%], [Actual], [LC], [%SCOPETABLE%], [%LOGTABLE%], [CEYTD], [99])
*COMMIT
If anyone has experienced this issue before, I would really appreciate some help on how to resolve it.
Thank you,
Mark Glowczewski

Hi
why not try the script logic in doing this it will be much more flexible

  • Move Net Income to Balance Sheet - MS version

    Hi experts,
I don't know what is the best practice to move net Income to Balance Sheet for MS version. I have already read on another thread that using "CALCACCOUNT" option could be the best.
However we have some problems with data of "M" type Datasrc. When we create a journal which modify Net Income data, we expect data copy to Balance Sheet, but Calccaccount seems not to work with this type of data.
Could you tell me how you solve this problem?
    Thank in advance
    Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel,
You would probably get better answers asking this question in the forum for the MS version of BPC. However, I believe you are on the right track with the account transformation business rules (*RUN_PROGRAM CALCACCOUNT, in the NW version).

  • Move net income to balance sheet - NW version

    Hi,
In BPC MS the function ROLLTOBS is used to move net income to balance sheet.
Now I'm using BPC NW (7.0.02) and I'm strugling to find a similar function. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
    /Lars

    Lars,
I know this was quite some time ago, but I am having an issue getting this to work for me and I think I have everything setup correclty.  Here is a summary of what I've done:
    1.  added the process chain RUNCALCACCOUNT in DataManager
    2.  modified Finance application to allow Account transformations (calculations)
    3.  created Business Rule to take account NetInc from datasrc All_Sources to account YTDNI / datasrc Other_Input (case sensitive) - saved and validated in 2 individual steps
    4.  Created CALCACCOUNT.LGF script logic with the following and save and validate:
    "   *RUN_PROGRAM RUNCALCACCOUNT
         CATEGORY = ACTUAL
         CURRENCY = %RPTCURRENCY_SET%
         TID_RA = %TIME_SET%
         OTHER = [ENTITY=%ENTITY_SET%]
         *ENDRUN_PROGRAM
         *COMMIT    "
    5.  During testing, I select only one month and run the logic file directly thru DataManager then create a report to verify.
Any insigth you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

  • Difference of balance in balance sheet report & Business area wise report

    Dear Group Members!!
In my company user wants to generate Business are wise Report
Difference of balance in balance sheet report & Business area wise report from same t code
Balances are different if enter business area, & if I execute the report with out entering any business area. Transaction code S_ALR_87012284 - Balance Sheet / Profit and Loss Statement.
The difference amount to be considered as data entry made with out using business area?
    How do  I rectify this?
Your comment will be helpful for me
    Shamulheq

    Hi Shamulheq
While working with business area you must first recognize that they are not company code dependent and can be used cross-company. Also depending  on the SAP release you are working with postings to Business Area may not 100% guarantee, since there are cases where rules or standard SAP is not available and line items posted  will be carried out without BA. For SAP releases not using the NEW GL, the setting up of adjustments accounts and monthly execution of adjustment programs would provide the vehicle to relate and adjust any missing BA at B/S and P/L level. If you are using NEW GL the document splitting would help to set the rules where every single line item would get a business area.
I assume that you are using the classic GL. The execution of T code S_ALR_87012284 - Balance Sheet / Profit and Loss Statement without business area retrieves all posting entered for any given company code regardless the account was posted with or without business area, this can be clearly displayed when you select the radio button for Classic Navigation. If you filter by Business Area, then the report will isolate the output data accordingly (The balances should be smaller). When using the classic GL you have to make sure that the financial statement version you use to execute the report,  includes that the technical (Adjustment accout) account(s) that is used for the adjustment programs, so the correction to buisness areas is also included.
In conlcusion I think you have to make all this considerations, in order to better understand where the differences come from.
    Hope this helps.

  • Generation of balance sheet with closing exchange rate

    Hi all
We have been using INR as the local currency and USD as the functional currency
all the reports are generated in INR and USD.
And  as of now monthly average rate is been entered in the exchange rate table master.
But for audit purpose we need to generate balance sheet with the closing rate. how can we do the same in sap business one
    Regards
    Farheen

    Hi,
Just use "Conversion Differences" function in Financials Module, this will convert INR into USD by posting adjustment JE.
This function is relevant for companies whose defined system currency is different from the local currency. SAP Business One recommends making journal entries automatically for differences in system currency. Use the Conversion Differences function to make adjustments between the account/business partner balance in the system currency and the balance in the local currency.
    Hope this helps,

  • Income Statement & Balance Sheet Reporting via a single ASO cube

    Hi All,
I wanted to get some perspective on industry best practices as it relates to performing Income Statement & Balance Sheet reporting via a single Essbase ASO cube. As both these areas share a lot of common dimensions, do most of the companies implement a single cube for integrated reporting or split cubes and have tools like HFR, Web Analysis etc. combine the information from those cubes for integrated cube.
    Appreciate any thoughts on this.
    Thanks!

You have asked this question the essbase forum :- ncome Statement & Balance Sheet Reporting via a single ASO cube
Best keeping it to one forum and seeing it is a purely essbase question.
    Cheers

  • Slow Performance with Business Rules

    Hello,
Has anyone ever had slow performance with business rules? For example, I attached a calc script to a form and it ran for 20 seconds. I made an exact replica of the calc script in a business rules and it took 30 seconds to run. Also, when creating / modifying business rules in EAS it takes a long time to open or save or attach security - any ideas on things to improve this performance?
    Thanks!

If you are having issues with performance of assigning access then I am sure there was patch available, it was either a HSS patch or planning patch.
    Cheers

  • Error importing composite with business rules into SVN

    Hello,
When I import a composite with business rules into Tortoise SVN I get below error.
Error: Commit blocked by pre-commit hook (exit code 1) with output:
    Error: Path
    Error: '/trunk/ProjectName_SCA/.rulesdesigner/jaxb_classes/com/ProjectName/package-info.class'
Error: is restricted for commit by pattern '\.class$' for the current user.
I could import other composites(w/o business rules)
    Thanks

Further invesitgation bears this problem out.
Oracle support recommend wrapping the SimpleType in a ComplexType. This does work, but now I have an extra wrapper element to deal with. I either have to use the wrapped type in my other complex, composed Types and/or add an external wrapping element when trying to create Business Services in BPM to call the BusinessRules I've created.
    This is a bit messy.
To be clear, this does not seem to be an issue with Business Rules; the BR editor and generation of Facts (including simple restricted types -> JAXB 2.0/Java Enumerations) seems to work correctly. There seems to be an issue exposing DFs as Services. The code which generated the WSDL and its supporting types seems to choke on restricted SimpleTypes.
As a side note, it seems that HumanTasks have a similar limitation

  • BALANCE SHEET WITH UNASSIGNED NODES

    First of all hello everybody,
In spite of being involved with balance sheet and P&L query I´m facing a problem never had before. We´re using the virtual infocube 0FIGL_V10 and its own query provided by Business Content.
Up to yesterday everything worked fine and showed up balance sheet and its nodes properly according to report in ECC. FI consultants decided to make changes in Balance Structure and turned on both credit and debit indicators in a couple of nodes. From then on relationed accounts did not appear within balance sheet but below unassigned nodes, obviously it should work properly once updated data by means of signs and so on. I removed content and reload 0GLACCEXT (its hierarchy), 0GL_ACCOUNT and infocube 0FIGL_C10 and kept failing.
Even i checked if function module supported by 0FIGL_V10 was modified and not at all.
Does anyone know what´s wrong? Is a problem of ECC customizing (don´t think so but...)? Am i missing any step?
    Any suggestion would be appreciated...
    Thanks in advace.

    Thanks for your replies!
Simon you were right. By checking up 0BAL_DEPEND I found out that someone had disabled certain mapped fields in transfer rules...one of them was PLUMI -> 0BAL_DEPEND.
I found an article about an balance sheet sample with this field but i didn´t pay attention to.
I shall activate transfer rules and so on from BC again and hope solving it.
    Thanks again.

  • Balance sheet for business areas

    Hi
Currently we have implemented 10 business areas and in oby6 we have enabled the business area statements, clearing accounts in OBXM are configured.
We have posted transactions into different business areas. Tired generating the BS on business areas but nothin is getting generated but on the whole company it generates.
Can anyone please suggest. Its a lill urgent.
    Thanks

To be able to generate business area financial statements, the following prerequisites must be fulfilled:
First, you need to assign G/L account line items to business areas. This is not always possible during document entry, for example, when posting to the reconciliation accounts for payables or receivables.
The data must have been updated in the general ledger transaction figures for each business area <b>and</b> financial statement item.
The overall balance must be zero for each business area (only for the balance sheet).
Program SAPF180A reads the marked documents, calculates the adjustment postings required, and updates these in its own database tables. A second program, SAPF180, reads the adjustment posting tables and on this basis posts the accounting documents required.
    Are these done?

  • Recreating Balance Sheet with Crystal Reports

    Hello everyone.
I need to recreate the Balance Sheet report with Crystal Reports.
Which tables have the information I need?
    Thanks in advance!

    You may check this thread:
Re: Recreating Original Reports with Crystal Reports
All financial reports source data are extracted from those tables mentioned in that thread.
    Thanks,

  • Balance Sheet with BPS and hierarchie

    hello,
We have to create a Balance sheet in which users can manually insert data.
We have created a hierarchy and then a manual planning in BPS and all is ok, but we want to allow users to fill only the "leaf" element of the hierarchy and not the internal node...
    how can we proceed?
A second question: "top-down" and "bottom-up" in "totaling logic" are not useful for us (it creates confusion in users...)... can we deactivate/bypass it?
    Thanks a lot

I posted a resolution about three or so months back
Basically create a new infobject of account with a compound of co code - and a nav atts of alternate coa and alternative gl account
This is to reolve the m:n realtionship of account to local account (ie it is different per co code)
Create a bespoke extractor of SKB1 or extend the current one - and then add the compound object to your cubes

  • Problem with balance carry forward business rule and automatic adjustments

    Hi All,
I faced with issue when run BCF business rule and consolidation process. According sap courses BPC440 members with A(automatic adjustments) type should carry forward automatically, and I(imputable), M (adjustments) members should carry forwarded by bcf business rule.
When I set up my BCF business rule I use property "Category_for_ope" in Category dimension. But this rule not work properly, then I use notes:
1784365 - Category_for_ope property should not effect Consolidation.
1902677 - The property category_for_ope shall work for consolidation
After applying those notes, system work as I aspect. After i run consolidation first time system carry forward my automatic adjustment from Category "Expected" to "PLAN_Y0" and this is correct!!!. But when i run consolidation process second and third time system duplicated automatic adjustments in Category "PLAN_Y0".
Someone can help me with this Issue?
    And sorry for my english

    Hi,
Can you try as follows :
    *RUN_PROGRAM COPYOPENING
    CATEGORY = %C_CATEGORY_SET%
    CURRENCY = %RPTCURRENCY_SET%
    TID_RA = %TIME_SET%
    *ENDRUN_PROGRAM
    hope it helps...
