Moving proxy implementation to Production

Hi
Can anyone tell me the best way of moving proxy implementation from dev/test to production system?
Is there any sequence while exporting SLD objects, IR/ID objects and abap objects from dev/test to production environments?
How will production XI box recognise the proxy implementation? DO i need to regenerate the proxy in production system?
Can someone tell me the best practise to be followed while moving SLD, IR, ID and ABAP to production environments?
Pointers to any material is also apprecited.
Many Thanks
Chandra

Hi,
Moving ABAP Proxy objects and XI objects(SLD, IR & ID objects) is entirely independent.
ABAP objects can move anytime independent of XI objects. But in ABAP objects you need to move proxy package first. Then proxy objects then only ABAP Code. But triggering of ABAP proxy objects in case of client ABAP proxy should be only after moving XI objects. In case of server proxy, it will stuck in IS.
In XI, I hope you knew the steps first you need to move SLD.. then IR and ID we used to create in production environment.

Vineetha.

  • Message Send from ABAP Proxy implemented in XI Server ABAP Stack

    Hello everyone,
I have a question and I'm not sure of this is an ABAP question but I'll try here and try to find some information on ABAP forums and weblogs, I need to send a XML message to the XI pipeline from an ABAP Server Proxy implemented in the same XI ABAP Stack Server, why I need this? well actually I can't find a way to do it in a BPM so I'm going to try to set the logic for this message send in the ABAP Stack, so do you know like a Function Module so I can send a message to the pipeline but I need the message to be set as Scheduled, I'll try ABAP Forums and Weblogs too, thanks in advance.

    Hi
You can schedule your program as a background Job SM36. Please check the transaction. You will have to set your ABAP program as the job STEP (if you probably have selection screen for your report then you will also need a variant for your report).
Do schedule your program as a 'Periodic Job' and your personal period (daily/hourly).
After you save your settings you can also monitor your job (ABAP Program) from the same transaction or even from CCMS if you like.

  • Steps for Go Live for Webtools moving from Test to Production

Further to the useful checklist in the wiki recently supplied by Bryce can I ask for some minor gaps to be filled ( perhaps by inserting a few additional steps in that document)
I have yet to hit the issues created by a go live implementation but this is only a matter of time...
I am trying to work out what needs  to occur between having :
    a) a test B1 database successfully synching to a test WT site and db set up
    and
    b) the Production B1 database initially synched to the the live WT live WT db ready to accept the first live transactions.
    1) Copy WT site from test to live location
    2) Change Server config, settings and Tables tabs in Synch Manager click on 'Install Plugin' to add custom fields to Production B1 database
    3) ......
I am stuck as to what needs to be done to "reset"  the WT back end db and how one goes about this.
Coupled with this and probably part of the answer is the 'Initialise Synch' button. It would be useful to understand exactly what this does in terms of data  - presumably it is only transactional data - but which tables are affected?
Also if there's anything else that I might have overlooked in terms of potential pitfalls I'd be grateful for advice - the recent posts regarding product trees and images come to mind.
    Thanks

First thing is to plan for some downtime in your B1 databases. Nothing more frustrating than having new data come into b1 when you're trying to set this up. So perhaps do this at night or on a weekend when no one is using B1.
Install Plugin operation adds UDF's, edits the stored proc in b1 db, and creates the queue table, PRX_Transaction_Queue
Initialize synch runs upgrade scripts(if applicable), deletes all data that has synched from B1 previously(or would synch from Wt to B1, like a test order created in Wt) and inserts all relevant data into the queue table in B1 db. Also the synchid's are reset. It's pretty much the same list as is displayed on the Settings page of the Synch Manager. Please someone correct me if I'm missing something here!
    Pre-requisites:
    - Name the Wt db relevant to its position in the environment. B1Webtools is not the greatest name, it's meant to be a jumping off point. Rename your Wt db in the way that you would for B1. ie WebtoolsLive, WebtoolsTest. Makes things easier
    Two options:
    1) Presuming you have a test Wt db and a test b1 db or even a test Wt db and a production(live) B1 db, you could duplicate the test Wt db and change the synch manager config to point to the B1 live db. Install the "plugin" on the new B1 live db and enter your table mappings. Initialize synch will delete all the data that has synched from B1 test db to Wt db(now live db) and reset the synch id's to zero. These will be populated during the synch. Then Run Synch.
Caveat: This option is fine if your synch takes a "short" period of time. Short being an hour. If you have say 20,000 business partners with 3 years of order history and 300 lines per order... expect several hours.
    2) Create a test synch profile and a live synch profile in tandem and update only the live synch profile with data. Also, have two web tools websites but work primarily in the live one. The synch manager will auto synch both profiles every time the service runs(set by you)
When it's go time, copy the live db's over the test db's so you have a test environment exactly matching your live environment.  Now, obviously as soon as new data goes into the live db it's out of synch, but this way you have a test system you can break or use to test upgrades, etc.
As you might guess, there are a number of ways to go with this. It really does depend on a) how comfortable you are with moving data around in SQL and b) what your setup entails.
I think the best thing you can do is make it as simple as possible. Don't overthink things and make sure you have a backup of everything before you start.
    Good luck!

  • How to find the date when object is moved from quality to production server

    Hi Experts,
I am working with BADI ZMM_PUR_REQ_PROC_001-Method Check and BADI ZME_PROCESS_PO_CUST-Method Check.
I need to add a check that a particular logic should be implemented only after this object is moved to the production server.
How can i check the date when an object (in my case this BADI) is moved to the production server?
    <Removed by moderator>
    Thanks in advance.
Edited by: Vinod Kumar on Aug 1, 2011 10:55 AM

    Hi Sakshi,
So your reqt is that the documents created after your Transport implementation date should pass the check and others (old ones) should ignore.
I will recommend, if at all possible, to make all the old documents compatible to your check by doing a separate initial loading /one time activity to avoid this kind of hardcoding.
IF not at all possible to do so, then I think you should better hardcode your Transport req number and fetch date (AS4DATE) from E070 table and only if any entry exists, use that date as your required date. I believe this will be the date of transport imported in the target system.
You can avoid hardcoding Transport number by picking latest transport with respect to your object (BADI) using E071 table, but that will go wrong once you send any future changes in this BADI to Prod, so better to hardcode the transport.

  • CUA : To implement or not to Implement for Production

    Hi all,
We have CUA implemented for our non production systems. The Basis team wants to implement CUA for our 5 production environments (R3, BW, CRM, SEM and APO). What are the pros and cons of implementing CUA in production? An opinion of someone who has CUA implemented at their company would be most helpful.
    Thanks.
    Sashank

    Hi Sashank!
We had a central user administration for a small 3-system landscape (from the beginning on).
Advantage: the central handling. Inconsistencies between the systems won't be a topic.
Disadvantage: Without experience it's possible to create quite a mess (once the user for distribution lost the authority to change profiles: nearly killed our system in this situation).
Also having different users and authorities in different systems is nothing which will be easier with a central maintenance - on the other hand it's not more difficult either.
Since your basis team has already experience with this tool, you can give it a go. We had no technical issues, only handling and organizational problems occured. Even workload was for a test system once a topic.

  • Missing parameter in abap proxy implementing class

    we have a XI 3.0 (DR0) and a XI 7.0 (DR8) systems. We have exported a
message interface from system DR0 and imported in DR8, then we have
generated the abap proxy. The problem is in differences between abap
proxy generated in XI 3.0 and the one generated in XI 7.0. The most
sostantial difference is in parameters of implementing class where, how
you can see from attached document, the CONTROLLER parameter is missing. Please, we need a support for this issue.

maybe this field is not inlcuded in the version u are using (XI 7.0). but this shud not be a show stopper. u can go to the class editor and check out if the req strucutres and fields are present WRT to the I/B and O/B interface.

  • Server proxy implementation with synchronous inbound interface

    <b>Hi all,</b>
How we can implement a server proxy with synchronous inbound interface. If any example weblog please send the link.
    <b>thanks,
    Kishan.</b>

    Hi,
For sync interface. You have to have a sync MI with both request and response message type.
when you generate a proxy for the same , you will get a method called execute_synchronous, and import and export parameter.
You don't have explicitly identify anywhere that the interface is sync.

  • Is Java 7 is free to develop and implement in production?

    Dear Friends,
Can anybody tell me that java 7 is it free to develop and distribute? Or we can
develop and use in our own production.
    Thanks in Advance
    Ahamed Rafeeque

The Oracle Java implementation certainly is. OpenJDK is too.
You are even free to distribute a (trimmed down) Java runtime with your software, as long as you follow the guidelines in the readme that you can find with it on what you are allowed to remove from it.

  • Can Request be moved to directly to production client

    Hi,
We have 3 system landscape configured in STMS,
one of our consultant has moved the request from Dev it automatically moved to Qas, but he said it is Kopa related request and must go to production client directly,
Can anyone tell me is there a way to move the request directly to prd server .
    Regads,

    Hi
As u sed that you are not using the same directory for the transport..do u mean that you have configured three domain controllers? are the requests getting automatically transfered to the other server say from DEV->QAS? Please enunciate.
For configuring the common transport directory you need to make one system as the Domain Controller and the other 2 systems as the Domains in the landscape. Lets say, you have configured DEV system as your domain controller, so the QAS and PRD system will act as the domain in the landscape with DEV as there Domain Controller.
You can do this by loggin on to the DEV system and configure it as Domain Controller. Then define a 3-system landscape confguration and define the other 2 systems as the part of that landscape. Then save it and Activate and Distribute the same. Now check the settings in the other 2 systems also u can adjust the settings der by readjusting with the domain controller.
The advantage of using one domain controller is that in the other 2 systems you cannot change the system landscape so the control becomes easier and safe.
Also when you configure ur transport directory as a single directory then in that case automatically all your requests for the 3 systems will be present in that common directory.
Note: Points will always encourage me to reply!!
    This shud solve ur problem.

  • ABAP Proxy implementation in R/3.

    Hi,
I will develop an interface R/3 - XI using ABAP Proxy. XI should trigger the execution of a process in R / 3. This process can take much, so I am concerned about time-out parameters.
    1. It is possible to run in background mode a ABAP proxy and asynchronously?
    2. If the ABAP Proxy runs asynchronously, SAP can generate a time-out because the program takes too long?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I guess ABAP proxy always runs in the backgound  mode as long as you are not executing it manually using SPROXY transaction. and the time out parameters in SAP will decide proxy time out.

  • Moving SSIS Package to production

I have to implement a change where a new column is added to a SQL Server table which is read by a package.
Is it possible to create the package before the new column is added to the table, or will the package require it?
I'd like to be able to create the package ahead of time so as soon as the database is updated, I can promote the package.
But if I have to wait for the column to be added (which cannot be done ahead of time as it will break other applications), it will cause a significant delay.

Its possible by setting delayvalidation to true in source task but you wont be able to set any mappings using the non existent column, so in any case you need to do some work in the package after column has been added to set mappings etc. Unless column
actually exists you cant add it to package metadata.
